When I started this post I was watching POTC at World’s end for the billionth time waiting for the thunderstorm to arrive.    I was glad because I didn’t want to water the lawn that night.  The weather has been beautiful up until then.  It would rain Friday morning and again Friday night and is beautiful Saturday which is good because of Woodmont Day but back to rain on Sunday.  I was …

Mid Week Reflection

We seem to be having a little respite from the humidity today as it was in the 70’s this morning and it felt pleasant.  It is going to be mid to high 80’s today.  We are supposed to get some rain near the end of the week going into the weekend.  I hope it doesn’t affect Woodmont Day.
It has been a few days now since I saw Mr. Woodchuck in the yard or under my back porch.  I don’t know if he sensed my neighbors coming back or what (lame I know) or he knows I am going to do something about his residence.  It reminds me of the scene in Caddyshack w/Murray trying to get rid of a gopher and he has done everything including blowing up the hole.
I am still waiting on my Brother to let me know if he is coming up for the 5K this weekend (Woodmont Day festivities).  He is going to let me know at the end of the day I think.  It all depends on his weekend schedule.  He has been working his way up to these since his pacemaker was put in.  I just have to make sure the house is in order.  As I said pr…

I had a headache

I woke up with a headache yesterday! It was making my stomach churn but nothing happened.I had some oatmeal and coffee when I got to work before taking the Tylenol. What caused the headache? Probably one of the pillows I think I am allergic too.
Monday night decided to sleep in the bedroom instead of downstairs. It was much more comfortable then the couch despite the headache I got.It was cooler too after the second of two rainstorms.
Work was a tad slow but I finished the work from Monday and then after the “Luncheon Presentation” it picked up and now have that to look forward this morning.
I didn’t get to stay the entire time for the presentation but I am still trying to figure out what it means. As I asked questions to everyone who did go it was “there is a merger in the future”.Will that mean we work for the hospital or University?Only time will tell but for now I have University job.I need to keep doing the best that I can.
I called the Osteoporosis center to confirm this week’s appointm…

Monday Musings

It was a muggy Monday morning.  IT was cloudy and some rain was predicted for the morning but didn’t see any but there is a thunderstorm predicted for late this afternoon and into the evening.  I am relieved because I won’t have to water the new lawn.
Work has is regular Monday and the beginning of Month End.  We did receive another “rebranding email update” from Dr Taheri.    Others around me are getting concerned more and more every day and I just don’t know what to make of this change and what it means to me personally.  I was bold enough to even ask my Supervisor what he thought and he doesn’t even know what to make of it.  The Luncheon kickoff is tomorrow and the e training is in the weeks ahead.
Got Sky’s fecal test results and he is a healthy feline.  I am very relieved for that.  IT also means the princess is doing well too.  Her yearly physical is in January. I am expecting no cooperation from her when the time comes.  I will do the same thing for her as I did sky (but not l…

Sunday Afternoon

The Peapod arrived just after 11:30 but I didn’t see a text alert or the email to let me know.I see the furry behind of Tiger who must have been sleeping under the sofa this morning running up the stairs.
I don’t know if I should complain much but the first thing the guy did was to park in the neighbor’s driveway.Granted he didn’t know that it was not mine if you look at it quickly you could easily think it belonged to the house.I asked him to move and he did.The couple of things that I got were either crushed (cereal boxes, and some of the frozen dinners). It isn’t the first time but I don’t want it to become regular occurrence.I have already started my next list.
Once the food was put away I made my standard steak lunch with no additional foods.I was thinking of what to do for future meals and I was thinking of making meatloaf. It has been a while but while watching Pioneer Woman I saw how easy it looked and figured I would do it again.Unfortunately it was too hot for me to be cooking s…

Going to get Warmer

After a lovely sleeping weather and waking up to cool weather it got immensely humid and hot.  It could be considered another heatwave.  We were supposed to get heavy thunderstorms in the afternoon but we got a sun shower instead.   Saturday was supposed to get even worse.  Which is giving me a guilt complex because I was able to get a certain feline into the carrier with little or no problem but the appointment isn’t for another two hours.
The commute into work was incredibly light today and I was quite surprised.  Even for Friday.  I wouldn’t be lucky enough to have it the same way going home this afternoon either.
Work has been hectic around me.  There was another round of moving people from one side of the floor to another.  I worked on the mail for the morning.  I had to look for particular EOB’s and had help.  On top of that was finding more and more particular batches that PM was looking for and I swore it was done.  By the afternoon working on the mail fully.
We got more flyers …

I have to actually start this with I feel like crap this morning even though I have been feeling okay.  Despite a few aches and twinges of pains.  I had too much steak with fat on it and caused me to have problems during the night.  I won’t be anxious to eat anything today.    I am picking up…

Mid Week Reflection

It is a much different weather day than in the last few days.  For the last two it’s been comfortable and pleasant.  From what I hear it will change for the weekend. That’s something to be aware of when I am getting ready for the Vet visit on Saturday.
I have had the cat carrier in the living room since the attempted visit two weeks ago.  It has been near the staircase (and not far from the front door).  Last night I decided to open the cash door so they could get used to it.  My plan is to feed him and then put him in the crate by 7 or 8.  This time I should put him in the shower stall like I did when they both needed meds.  His appointment is at 10.  I hope to be a little more successful with this approach then last time.
The kitties have been pretty funny to watch and I always wonder what is going on through their heads.  At times they seek out my attention either for food or love then they do their own thing by sitting at the windows, back doors and watching the world they can’…

Much Cooler

IT was much cooler last night and it felt good.  It continued to be beautiful all day.  It is in the mid 70’s and will get into the 80’s but it won’t be as humid as it has been for the last few days. After the storm yesterday afternoon the moon was out and it looked like a full moon to me.  Tonight is actually the real full Moon.
Work was good.  In the morning before my appointment worked on refund checks and managed to work on the mail until I left for my Lupus appointment.  Some people are moving to new cubicles, LT is moving to the back of the aisle and MS is moving into her spot.  I love MS!  She is great and now won’t have to travel far to get the returned refund checks off my desk!
One of the Admins Dr. B sent out an email about the results of the “survey” about the new work stations at our new location.  Some of the suggestions that people made will be considered and some will not (no kidding).
The appointment went well.  I saw Dr. Sonia first and aside from not having the blood w…

Today starts the National Republican Convention in Ohio.As a Democratic person I should be interested in what they have planned but I haven’t been listening to Donald Trump and every time I do not understand him.As Joanie and I said he is a bully and he doesn’t have what it takes to run a country. The Democratic Convention is next week and I should definitely be following it but it bores me.May be it is time I actually follow it.
It was very humid and sunny until midafternoon. There was a thunderstorm watch/alert for this afternoon and happily it came.I was trying to post pictures that I took before my cell phone died again. It is still cloudy and a little cooler now but not that much.

As I mentioned the cell phone fell into the toilet yesterday it worked for a while after I dried it all off and worked for most of today but can’t see but here the bells and whistles.I wished I had it to take a picture of Woody the woodchuck sitting on the back steps before the rain started. It has been hangi…

Plans Changed again

I got a call from Liz telling me she has a sore throat and feeling lousy and didn’t want me to get sick so I will be setting up the mint.com account myself. We talked about her “family night” that ended up getting cancelled. So she and N went to Outback by my end of town.I did tell her about the sink problem. She suggested I call B Soda but I don’t have his number so I contacted Lawyer Bob.Not a word from him.
Around noon the peapod arrived and everything was there.I was surprised by the price because it was a little more than I thought it would be even though they did say the prices may be different. The bananas were a little brown in areas.
I made some phone calls to J and T and see if they were home and they weren’t.I did get a text message later from Jim telling me that everything was great but very hot.He sent me a picture of his cat on his lap.
My kitties took off for under the bed for most of the afternoon when Peapod arrived. They were still there when I left and only came out a cou…

This Weekend

The house has been very hot at night for the last few days.  I usually tell Liz and anyone else that we have a great breeze.  Well because it has been hot I made sure all windows are open.  The ceiling fans and the window fans are all on.  I don’t want to use the AC.  Right now there is a breeze a very light breeze coming through.  The weather forecast is predicting thunderstorms in areas.  I hope it cools it off because it is becoming uncomfortable.
The whole thing with the checking account and why the charges I got were straightened out.  I have to really pay attention to the “funds available” a little better.  The guy who helped us suggested I use mint.com to do the checkbook and balancing the account.  I took a little bit of a look but didn’t sign up yet.  I thought I would do it with Liz this afternoon when we go over it.  We were supposed to do it yesterday after my trip to Oxford but both Liz and I were too tired.
Yesterday was a long but lovely day.  For some reason I woke up ar…

Glad its Friday

I am glad this week is over.  It has been very busy work wise and by the time I get home most nights I was so tired I think I went to bed by 9.  Usually asleep by ten.  It would explain the times I got up during the night. It also explains the excessive amount of coffee I have been having along with the early wake up calls from sky. For the last couple of nights, I have had the muscle spasms in my left leg to the point it hurts.  I have to remember to drink more water and get the bananas.
Didn’t get to talk to CU admin regarding account yesterday.  Sis totally forgot about it and was napping when I called at 5:30.    I was surprised I made it to the CU by 4:30 as Liz originally suggested but I didn’t know what the traffic was going to be like.  So I waited until about 5:30 and after I checked the front of the building a few times I called her and that’s when I found she forgot.  I was pretty cool about it.  She did get a pedicure/manicure though.  So the long of it is we are trying agai…

I was very thankful for rain this morning.  That meant I didn’t have to water the lawn.  It was still kind of gray this morning when I left for work but I am not sure what it will be like when I leave work this afternoon.  I did notice a hazardous weather alert in my email box so it is pretty obvious it won’t be good.   Well after my errands It will be a night in. Things at …

Mid Week Reflection

This time last week I was in Zebulon waking to very humid weather enjoying the last days of my incredible trip to NC. I will have many memories of that time and look forward to my next visit (in a much cooler season).
When I got home it was back into my regular routine with the hopes and ideas that somethings would change for me (time management, finance management, relationship management).  The weekend was focusing on kitties that made me feel needed.
My first few days back at work have been very hectic and busy.  I am beginning to get back to normal as far as work volume.  I would like to say the moral here is a mixed bag.  People have been laid off, found new jobs, or have retired all together.  I don’t know if there is any more coming but here is hoping its over for now.
The once a week check in with Liz is working so far.  She stopped by twice over the weekend once to welcome me home and apologize for possibly spoiling my trip because I didn’t take care of finances properly b…

My First Day Back

Yesterday was incredibly busy and sad.  First a few people in my aisle let me know that one or both of the people that were supposed to be doing my job did nothing.  So the previous post with the pictures is what I was left with.  One person I talked with said “they” just reorganized and kept straightening my desk.  I just kept thinking not my job to worry about who was going to do my work. Although I am glad they did because I would find out later that Mama Joanie is retiring from the Dept.  As a matter of fact all three scanners were given their layoff notices last week.  According to JanetN it came out of Left “F” Field. They were expecting to find out later this month.  Janet will be paid for every year she has worked at the University and then retire.  She is still shocked but is acquiescent because now she can stay home and take care of her mother.  I called Mama Joanie and arranged to get together this weekend with her.  A has been affected by this and AC hasn’t but she is worr…

Getting back to Routine

I have been home for two and half days now and it hasn’t taken long to get back to daily routine.  The kitties were really funny when I got home.  As I drove up Sky was in the window looking out and then took off.  They both came down the stairs meowing at me.  So I spent some time with them and they did kind of sniff me and approach me.  After a while Tiger went her way and Sky pretty much followed me around.
I unpacked and hung up my stuff and did some laundry.  Also worked on stuff I left around.  I some cleaning of the boxes, and the hair ball that I am suspecting Tiger left me.  I spent most of it taking it easy.
I had a semi quick visit from Liz.  She was happy to see me and stuff and sort of apologized for being annoying before I left.  She wanted to offer some suggestions about doing the finances.  She suggested maybe if we can’t do it or I continue to have problems doing it may be\getting the lawyer to help.  We also set some boundaries about me calling on a daily basis.  She d…

Not sure I can post all of them in one but I'll try.

My Trip the Final Days

The Trip to the Rose Garden wasn’t too bad but it was so humid and hot that we couldn’t stay long.  The garden is located next to (and behind) The Little Theater of Raleigh and it was a lovely garden.  It is an oasis from the city.  Granted the homes around the place were lovely.  It was an oasis but still too hot to stay so we headed out to find a bagel place.  We had some lunch of sorts then we did some shopping.
It was a thrift shop and Mike found some stuff and I found a beautiful Irish blessing plate for $4.  After that we went to the movies.  We saw Tarzan and it was okay but at one point there was some technical difficulty it cut off for some reason.  It wasn’t long before it started again and we finished the movie.
After the movie we went home and had dinner at home.  The rest of the night we either watched TV and movies and worked on the computer.
Thursday we spent the morning inside as it was still pretty humid and I really wanted to relax.  In the afternoon we went to look for…

My Trip to NC part 2

The holiday was as expected quietly spent morning and then some cooking and then we had our picnic inside because we're not sure if it would be raining or not it was very nice to watch some movies  Guru not my favorite and then we watch the Macy's 4th of July celebration on TV. We had to wait until after 10 for the fireworks at the Mudcats Stadium because the game went into overtime we also shot off some bottle rockets ourselves and then isn't it and one of the neighbors shut off fireworks as well. Went to bed around 11
. We got up round and because it was we took our time.  We went Hamricks and bought some stuff then we went to waffle house for brunch.

We went to Crabtree Mall on Glendale and spent time there.   We kept comparing it to the malls back home. After a while we went to an Celtic shop in what we can only guess as a consignment shop and bought the trinkets i wanted to get for Shea and Q for taking care of my Babes.

From there we came back to relax for  couple…

My Trip

On Thursday June 30, I flew out of Bradley Inter Airport for my week long visit with friends in Zebulon NC.  It has been one I have been looking forward to for weeks.
That first day was indeed very long as I barely could sleep the night before.  I got up at two am to prepare for the first leg of the journey.  The limo was scheduled to pick me up at 4 in the morning but came 20 minutes earlier which was absolutely fine as there was some over night construction on the highway.  By the time we got to the airport the sun was rising and it was beautiful.  The lines for the security were long but moved along and shortly afterwards I was on my way to gate.  Where many others were waiting for the flight.  I had gotten something to eat from a nearby stand and chatted with one couple going to Denver.  It was very interesting.  Soon it was time for my flight.  We got into our positions and headed into the plane.  I asked flight attendant a quick question and told me it was not a full flight.  So …
