    Today is bingo.    I will be handling this task independently as Lynn is currently unwell.    Trimm said he would have the bingo stuff out of the closet (at least that’s how I understand it) and then I will come home and do housework.   I may grab something from the macaroni place. I sent text messages to the group and to Liz and to Jim and Janis.   I have been puttering around.   I cleaned the litter and dishes Around noon, I showered, prepared for bingo, and left at about 1:45, feeling a bit panicked when I couldn't find my credit card.   I planned to get dinner but changed my mind when I couldn't find it.   Since then, I have located it and put it away. The bingo session proceeded successfully, and I had the opportunity to reconnect with a colleague both prior to and following the event.   We had seven players, and I was concerned that we might encounter challenges.   Since my plans changed earlier this week; today turned out to be a semi quiet day.   Even though I went to bed at 10 last night I got up several times during the night and got on the computer and did various things.   I finally went back to sleep around 3. I got up again for the day and did my normal Sunday morning routine.   I got online again and finished yesterday’s entry.   There are a lot of things I didn’t get done too. I did go to bingo.   There were about ten residents.   The dining room wasn’t cleared to play bingo but apparently Church Services were not held, and neither was lunch.   Someone at one point walked in and called out Bingo.   I am pretty sure it was an employee.   I asked them not to do it.   She looked at me like I had two heads.   When I told Recreation Emily about it she said it was good I said something but maybe later look for her and tell the woman not to do that and explain why.   UH no. ...

  Saturday night was the Ladies Guild auction at 6.  I ordered 2 trays of cookies from shop rite and I was able to pick them up earlier than needed.    I have been told ticket sales were not as hoped.  I wasn’t sure what to expect.  If there weren't a lot of people tonight,use them at the next meeting.  Luckily there seemed to be a lot of people to me. Including this one woman who knows Mama Roberta.   First she was late, second from the time she sat down to the time I left she bitched about one thing or another.  THere was not enough food, not enough servers, and then we talked about condos, and politics.  I even chatted with the guy next to her (not with ehr) and was telling him that I really need patience with her.  He understood I hope.   Since the auction itself was still going on and I wasn’t bidding on anything I left at 8.  I was so glad to leave.  I had told President Pam to use the remaining c...

 Well Labor Day 2022 is over and I am still on vacation.  Friday was a quiet day for doing some cleaning around the house.  My tooth was starting to bother me that day too.   Saturday was beautiful and I did walk with Mike Smith the candidate for representative of the 119.  We met at the headquarters and its a small headquarters and I will be surprise if many people could fit in that at once.  Anyway we waited for a few more people and and then Mike and I headed out to the Gulf Pond area of the city.  Beautiful homes and many pets.  We did this until 12 and then headed back to headquarters and then I went home.   Saturday afternoon was relaxing and did some more cleaning and then went grocery shopping that night.  Still trying to get healthy foods.  I went to Aldi's but couldn't get a few things.  I would later on in the weekend get them or at least few of them. Yesterday was absolutely awesome!   I got Daimian’s home a little after 1:30 as many others were as well.   We spent the afternoon talking about everything.   Including Condo’s, and history of the holocaust and how some movies and TV shows take liberties with historical moments such as the Nazi Occupation.    We also touched on certain situations that happened early in the history of the group.   For those who didn’t know about it.   There were so many other conversations.   We also celebrated Paula’s birthday.(it actually .was on Friday so I need to update the birthday list). There was s variety of delectable foods.   I tried so hard to be good.   I had the salad and fruit salad unfortunately; I had a piece of cake and biscotti, and candy.   I was feeling guilty.   I thought I would be so prepared.   I had had some nuts and protein drink before leaving for the meetup.   At some point this weekend I started sniffling and sneezing and haven’t really stopped.   I was really hoping I didn’t get sick again.   Almost every Christmas holiday I get a sinus infection or cold.   I am not sure what set it off..   At first I thought maybe the kitty litter dusts that I smell on the titans were the cause of it but I am beginning to have my doubts . I took some night time alka seltzer medicine and hope it would kick in soon.   I buried in my covers and Tiger sat beside me and I expected sky to join us soon after. Sunday I didn’t do too much in the morning.   Watched TV, took care of the cats, had probably too much coffee and then showered and got ready for gym class.   It was alternating 20 reps with 10 (should have been 19) After class I headed to my Sister’s and chatted with her until about things in general.   We made plans for me to come over around 7:30 to get any last minute preparations done for the...

It started just as I got home from the pet supply store with the litter.   It was almost rain but by the time I was leaving for bingo it was coming down heavier but not enough for me to bail on the bingo session.   It was even heavier for the hour I was there.   I drove safely home.   It took me twenty minutes to get home when it would take me almost 15 minutes.    By the time I got home it slowed and now is raining.   This qualifies a dud.   I was expecting high winds and tons of snow and a snow day tomorrow.   Not going to happen-yet.    The winter weather advisory is still in effect as well as the forecast for more snow.   As my late mother was fond of saying ‘I will believe it when it happens’. So I went to the gym for an hour and did cardio.   30 minutes on the treadmill but did elliptical until my legs got tired.   I was thinking I would do the bike but when I realized the hour was up I headed to the stor...

Despite the early morning wakeup call from Sky and tiger (4:30), we survived the time change.   When I did get up at 5:30 (and I was hoping too) I could see the sunlight just in the eastern sky.   It didn’t seem so dark at 7 this morning.   It actually seemed brighter.    When I got home from bingo this afternoon it was still light out (I left the nursing home later than usual) so I was right about it not getting dark exactly at 4.   Of course it was dark by 5. Siduri and I were discussing the possibility of doing away with the time change.   I was just looking at some articles from the spring of this year.   I didn’t get far. I never made it to the gym.   I spent most of the time before the nursing home either on the computer writing the email to Karyn in Colorado, or doing the crossword puzzles.   Did I mention they were addictive? Earlier this week on one of the Message boards for NCIS/Mark Harmon I read that yahoo would be making changes to the Yahoo Groups.   They announced earlier this month they will be closing .   Now I have a group there as journal/diary whatever.   I started back in June of 2003.   I was consistently posting to the group for the next 10 years and then less and less in the last few years.   Lately when I share to the group it’s via google documents and or word processing and usually when I share with Debra. What does this exactly mean?   I am not sure if I will be able to download pictures from there or discussions.   I don’t really look forward to moving the stuff around.   I don’t have the energy and or know how to do it. Well the afternoon was semi successful.   I managed to do some writing have a very weird breakfast (fish), and get ready for bingo.         Recreation Bob was on duty in his usual manner.   I got there pretty earl and we started getting things ready.   We share our news that both of us were putting our homes on the market.   Among the other discussions was about the newbie recreation therapist. We had about 15 or 17 residents and some were a bit testy and also some are getting worse in their health.   This knowledge brings a whole lot of emotions to me. AT one point I was wishing the hour was over.   On the way home I stopped at Adams to pick up late lunch/supper and my coffee creamers.   I should have picked up more bags but I didn’t really look for them.   There was something stopping me.         I came home ate the food (broccoli rob and ribs).   I took a rest and...

It was an absolutely beautiful and full day yesterday.  From morning right through the early evening.   Early in the morning I had my 8 am exercise class with A.  I worked hard (I was an odd person out of the exercises). It was partnered exercises and um I was the only one without a partner. So A had me do half of what was written.  Then A was able to move our regular session to 9:30.   We discussed the good, the bad, and indifferent to the activities and food intake.  We also discussed my visits to the gym. I was supposed to go to the gym yesterday but opted to do a second walk unfortunately by the time I got home from my afternoon activities I was not feeling real well again. On Saturday I was able to get to the union picnic at Edgewood Park in New Haven.  I was pleasantly surprised to find a beautiful park in the middle of a neighborhood prone to violence and crime.  I managed to catch up with a few people I knew and recog...

Hey all,  it's been a rather mixed bag of activities this weekend.  Yesterday morning I attempted and made the first mile of the 5k race at Woodmont day.  I clearly wasn’t as prepared for it as I had hoped.  Not really dressed for it and didn’t eat anything prior.  I was a little disappointed in that aspect but with many messages of encouragement and support it took the sting out of it.  I was really tired for the rest of the day.   Not as tired that I couldn’t make my session with A and work out.  We discussed the past week and food intake and the step goals.  I had to promise to come to classes today (heading there now) and Monday.  Already Monday will be difficult because I have a family gathering for dinner tomorrow night at the same time class is.  I might be able to go to the 7:30 class. The sun is shining and it is 75 degrees out and will climb to the 80’s by 10.  I am glad we are not in the throws of Hurricane Barry as New Orleans  is currently experiencing it.  It was a category 1 as of yesterday. There is a lot of rainfall that’s affecting the levee’s down there.  I am trying to see if there are any blogs written during it but they are all from news outlets and weather sites.  We won’t be getting any rain until Wednesday I believe.   I am wondering if we will get any hurricanes.  I like watching the storms but I don’t like the damage it could inflict. I ended up staying in bed until 6:30 so I haven’t been on my early morning walk.  I still might do it before it gets too hot.  Or I might do it later on in the day near dinner time like I did yesterday and earlier this week.  I have to say I really do enjoy walking.  You get to see how other people live, decorate,  what the memories and activities hav...

To all of you have a blessed Father’s Day.  It will be a fairly quiet one here.  My Father has been gone over 30 years.  My brother B has been gone nearly seven years now.  My Brother J is in Allentown.  I spoke to him via text.  He has some plans but not alot.  Not sure what BIL is doing probably quiet as well. Yesterday nearly killed me.  I had two exercise classes and did pretty well.  I like the renovations.  I also like our exercise classes are now in a separate area (as well as the personal training sessions) because you can’t be distracted except by myself.  It made me tired for the rest of the day.  Not tired enough to stop me from a walk.  It was just over two miles and maybe over an hour.  I went around 4 after chatting with a few of the neighbors.  It was about 75 degrees at one point.  When I got home from it I was really tired by then.  Nearly fell asleep on the couch.
