Almost Done

It is after 10 in the morning.   My sister reminded me to put the cat stuff in the car.   Most of it is in there except the litterbox, one very heavy bin of litter and maybe one unopened box.   My trunk is completely full and I still have more to put in the car I think.   I am frustrated and I am not sure how it is going to get in.     I am thinking the back seats (on the floor while the cats are in the crate on the seats.    I may have to ask Liz to take more than the lamps.   We will worry about that later. I have to finish the bathroom (personally I think I should wait until tomorrow or Thursday morning).   I may be putting too much on for the last day.   That morning I need to strip the bed and wash the sheets and towels and bag them and have them ready to put on when I get to the condo.   I am also going to vacuum the house one last time. If you all don’t see me after tomorrow for a couple of days I will be...

Thanksgiving Week 2020

Wednesday was the beginning of the Holiday week for me. Liz and I began some of the phone calls that we needed to get done prior to the move were started that mid-morning. We worked on it for a couple of hours.   It was frustrating and aggravating. One of the issues was dealing with the UI.   We couldn’t discuss closing the current account on the house because it was under Mom’s name.   So Liz would later send me the death certificate and I forwarded to the address the woman gave me. Liz had to leave around 2 because she had a baking activity with a friend’s daughter at her home.    The rest of that day I crashed I think.   That was before I did some shopping. Thanksgiving morning was quiet.   I watched TV.   I believe Fantastic Beasts and Harry Potter was on that morning Just before I left for Liz and Nelson’s I stopped at the Store to get another quart of Ice cream.   I believed the one I had gotten the day before (that’s right I d...

Its Done 9/22/20

The house is ready to be put on the market.   All the hard work for the last several weekends and even during the week has been completed.   Liz’s cleaning crew came in yesterday and did a great job. (The floor in the foyer part could have done with some more work but the rest of it is perfect.)   Unfortunately I wasn’t home more than an hour and spilled tea on the wood floor.      Before going to bed I did some sweeping. As of this writing Lawyer man has not signed the papers.   Cheryl sent him a text yesterday reminding him it needs to be done before she can move ahead with putting the house up on the market and all that goes with it (posting it on the net etc.).   I may have said this couple of days ago but Liz seems to think he is playing games.   He is rushing me out of the house but takes his time to sign the papers?   Jim is supposed to continue discussions on things they didn’t go over on Saturday. Jim did promise to s...

I hope I am not getting sick

I have had a sore throat since Wednesday afternoon.   I had a cough that started just before my Dermatology app0intment on Wednesday.   I told a few people that this has happened but I blame allergies.   I have taken stuff for it but not sure it’s helping.   I really think it’s from the dust and cleaning and the stress.   I don’t want to go to the Doctors for this. So Saturday was the day the photographer was to come and takes the marketing pictures of the house.   Instead it was Cheryl.   It saves money on closing costs.   She toured the house and she filled out the papers and description and when Jim came in the afternoon gave it to him to give to the lawyer to sign.     I couldn’t sign them.   Liz had hoped to be here by 8 but didn’t get here until sometime after 8:30.   Since Tuesday I have cleaned each upstairs room.   I will have to vacuum my bedroom soon.   I managed to get the winter wear accessories ...

Making progress

Getting lots done.   Saturday the junk company took a truck load of stuff in the house away including one of the reclining sofa’s,   the TV and stand out back, and the rocking chair out back, Cleared out two bedrooms, and a desk in the office.   The old clothes hamper, and the broken shredder, and all the bags and crap on the front porch are gone.   They came back today to take the stuff in the cellar, and the attic, and the entertainment center that is in the dining room.   Liz was there to oversee and to let the kitties out. We spent the rest of the time cleaning out one dresser organizing it for the move. I will be keeping things that I can wear now or keep in there after the move.   I am thinking all my gym clothes should come back in and be put in there. We have the sheets, and blankets I will be taking in the cedar chest along with my Dad’s Flag he was buried with or on.   It was mutually agreed that I give it to nephew Chris (in SC) ...

all Moved in I think

I thought we would be all moved in but the last three remaining departments, Collections, Registration, and PT services all move in on Monday.   Those who are already in the building are still getting the kinks out and getting a new routine down.    At times it felt like we have been there for a while now instead of just four days.   I know there are adjustments that I need to make for myself and will offer that to Supervisor on Monday.   I will also have to make sure I refer to team lead from now on.   Considering she sits right behind me now instead of across from me. Today was not a good start.   I had to come home to get my id as I left it home.   Luckily it only took about 45 minutes.   I need to print from the shared printers anytime I print something.   We will definitely be in a regular routine by the middle of February. I made it to the gym as of today three days so far this week.   Wednesday was very tired a...

Finally happening

After two years of being told there were locations in the running and then actually getting one we are finally out of our home of 20 years. Some of us were packing while others were working and by the end of the day everything was packed and the movers began taking the stuff out.   Then at 3:30 we attended the farewell party at Paula’s.   It was a lot of fun.   My hope was there would be great turn out and there was.   Some of them were rude but that’s okay.   There were a variety of appetizers, punch, and cake. Around 4 we went back and met up with Ann and got our things and took a look around and thanked the people for moving our stuff and headed to our cars.   We were saying how much we will not miss the wind tunnel walk to the garage.   It was so very windy and very cold.   I was wearing my cape and at that point decided I would have to wear a different and warmer coat.    Actually I realized that this morning. ...

Saying Goodbye

Thursdays are usually Thankful Thursdays but today is a day of saying goodbye to all of the people in the building that has been our home for 18 and half years.   At that time we came from different locations such as refurbished old high school that the University had leased or bought.   We would be together at George Street until few years ago.   Now we will be together again.   Well our finance department will remain in the med school area.        I am betting this will be the last building move until I retire.   There may be seat rotations in the near future. The owner of Café George is having a farewell party for us and the building later this afternoon (at 3:30).   So hopefully by that time everything that needs to be done will be done for the day.   We have interacted with all the companies and departments on some level even if it’s walking into work or riding the elevators every day. All that’s left now is to pack ...

Move Update

I am writing this from work again.   So, I think the title of the entry was a move update.      I haven’t done any decluttering in a while, but I Have planned to have some of the girls from my Finding friends group to come and help me in probably February or March.   That’s what I told Lawyer Bob the other day. I still must do that one task Lawyer Bob asked me to do a couple of days ago.   Except I feel I have been busy.   I also left the laptop at home, so I can’t remember verbatim what he wants me to do.   I will have to do it sometime tomorrow. Sometime soon Cleaning lady Livia will come an extra day and help me with the curtains.   I plan on taking them down and getting rid of those that are too ripped and tattered to go back up. I keep looking on the realtor sites and on more than one occasion have changed the parameters of my search.   The Price, the number of bedrooms, and bathrooms are the two major changes, as well as th...

Procrastination

Procrastination is really my downfall.    Yeah it’s probably everyone’s Achilles heel.   I still had things in the living room that I needed to put away last night for this meeting tonight.   I left it until the early morning hours and started getting anxious and   aggravated and started tripping over stuff and nearly startling the titans.   It also made me angry because it brought me back to the fact that I can’t count on people for help with the whole house decluttering project.   Oh Big Brother asked just before he left for home but what was I going to say?    What was he going to do?   Carry stuff that may be too heavy for him?   I still worry about the heart issue.     Oh I got a lot of unsolicited advice on how to do declutter but did they come and help no.   In truth this straightening up should have been done earlier when I was home.    Not at the last minute as I am trying to get re...

Regrets

I have a feeling I will regret telling cleaning lady that I will be taking her with me when I find a condo.  I come home to a clean house but she left the dusting stuff out on the table and standing and leaning on the bathroom wall in the kitchen.  She also left the stuff I had put on the table that is going into a tag sale on the chair. She also almost stuffed the bags I had of clothes and grilling tools behind the oxygenator.  I am also regretting not going to class.  The storm came through and it was pretty intense and lasted until after 6.  I was all set to get changed after I had dinner but decided that I would stay home and attempt the bedroom.  Didn’t do it.  Instead I stayed with the cats even though they were each hiding during the height of the storm in various places.  Once it stopped they came out and went to their spots for now. Parts of the shoreline lost power while others like myself and the rest of the neighborhood didn...

I told them

I told Neighbor Kim yesterday the news that I was downsizing.  She was shocked and wished I had told her sooner.  Well  It was just decided in the last ten days.  Her Brother is looking  for a place and put a bid in orange.  However I am still not certain how this will all work or go down.   I still have to email the rest of the family and tell them.  I didn’t do anything last night regarding it.  I have three more neighbors to tell plus my friends out of state. I need to send that email out sometime today to the family and get them to come and look through stuff and then I will  look through it and see if I want to keep any thing .  THen I probably should do a tag sale. I was too tired to do much of anything last night .  I watched TV and made dinner and then around 8:30 went to bed.  I didn’t even go to class.  I have signed up for other classes this week.   My daily steps have been pathetic of l...

I am wondering

I am wondering what reactions  I was expecting from DO and Big Brother when I told them of my plans to leave here.  Was I expecting objections, support and  advice?  Probably.  They seemed fine with it and thanked me for letting them know.  I let Jim know what my  plans will be as time goes on. I  ended up not going anywhere yesterday, I ordered dinner and got stuff I shouldn’t have.  I ended up getting  blooming onions.  It was delicious the first time.  Not so much after midnight.  I was getting  acid indigestion.   Then I made a mess of both bathrooms.   I finally fell asleep  and it was 6 when I got up.   Sky tried to get me up.    I did  our normal routine and fell  back to sleep on the couch.  Finally got back up around 9 and have been straightening up things taking it slow.   It looked like the clouds were moving in but they left an...
