Can't Believe it

My Neighbor K texted me and others this morning that their cars were broken into overnight and urged us to check our own.  As usual I didn’t see it until I got to work but by then I had spoken to Kim and checked my car and indeed it had been rummaged through.  I can’t say they broke in because the car wasn’t locked this time.  Nothing was taken from my car (they could have taken the CD’s or the crappy GPS I had).  Things that are not normally opened were opened and tossed.   It is a shame that this has to happen.  I do feel violated but I also feel stupid especially in this day and age.  I do know that I can’t beat myself up but brings to mind that I need to keep it locked at all times and not leave anything of value in the car. I checked in with Neighbor K and she said the break-ins have been happening in several places near by. I sent messages to my cleaning lady to lock her door and gave her instructions on where to find the house key...

How far would you Go?

Someone recently posted alerts on a FB page for our town. The alerts were regarding suspicious activity in  a neighborhood and apparently had pictures of the person and their vehicle etc.  It turned out he was not doing anything wrong.  What followed was criticism and judgements that this person had no right to do this without posting a follow up.  I don’t think she really did anything wrong but is it legal?  Once information has been released by the police isn’t it freedom of information?  I believe she was making neighbors aware of a possible situation.  How far would you go?  Who do you think was right? So I went to the Thursday Group class last night and it is pretty much like Tuesday’s classes.  IT hurt and i could feel it in the knees and the lower back.  I hope I kept trying.  Ran into Alex food confessed.  I am in trouble tomorrow.  The Obnoxious lady was in this class but less obnoxious than on Tuesday.  ...

Happy Monday

Ah Monday what a lovely day?  It is overcast and a little windy this morning.  Commuters have to deal with the repair process in Bridgeport from Friday night’s train crash and this will take a few days according to sources. Work went well today we were happy to welcome back a coworker who had been out on leave and she looked great.  We had celebratory breakfast of treats and delights. Elsewhere on campus there was a shooting over the weekend.  It was very close to the office .    It is a way I walk from Debra’s sometimes. Graduation continued on campus.  Traffic was a bit heavy throughout the city I am told.  I have to admit I didn’t really have any problems coming home today.   Most of the activities were over by then anyway.  Memorial Day weekend is Alumni Weekend and that will be as crazy if not more.  As of right now this will be the entire schedule for the week. I may not have had a difficult driv...

Dear Debra

Dear Debra: Friday was just not the best day for me. I over slept that morning; left my ID holder with my license, and work ID and a CC at home. I spilled not only my breakfast but my lunch on my shirt. I was a walking mess. I was exhausted by the time I left the office. I was spoiling for a fight with a driver in front of me. He just cut me off at the Union Avenue and Church Street South intersection. When I caught up with him at the bottom of Church Street South and Sargent Drive I took more pictures and he came to my car demanding to know what I was doing. I didn’t open the window I just looked at him and said having you arrested. What he did was reckless especially in the rain. I had no idea he was going to do that. He didn’t pursue it but I wasn’t going to back down. Despite my late start of the day (I did manage to get to work on time. I drove in to work and nearly clipped a co-workers car when she performed “right turn on red” with me nearly on top of her. I can onl...

Active Week

The last few days have been busy between work, the pie baking at Hopkins; and the retirement party Thursday I haven’t slept regularly. Mom gets concerned that I don’t get enough sleep or I get up early. Work is fine we are preparing for the visit from NEMG on Monday I spent a few hours today (Saturday) at the office working on readdress mail and getting rid of it all. Most of it was old so it got dumped. Friday was my 20th anniversary as a full time employee at Yale. It was also a pre-birthday Celebration for CD as her birthday is on Thanksgiving and we wouldn’t be there. The retirement party was wonderful Carol was truly touched and there were at least 45 people there. The food was delicious and bountiful. Carol received a beautiful necklace. Mom is okay. She is currently cooking right now and will be getting ready for 5:30 mass. She had meetings this week and got her hair cut. It really looks nice. She also attended Carol’s retirement party with me. The beginning of the week...

Unbelievable

I got up around 6:20 and made the bed and then took my shower and then got dressed. I did take a few minutes to check emails before getting dressed. Mom and Ann were still sleeping.I have been here at work since before 8. I started doing my work right away. The day seemed to go by really fast. I started off with the collection letters and then the charts and from there did Today’s mail and then hopefully finish yesterdays. I just finished today’s regular mail. I have been sharing the joke that Mom told last night from Buddy D and I have had mixed reactions to it. Oh well. I guess Robin Williams and all the other standup comics can be reassured their jobs are intact. For the past hour I have been having major pains in and around my stomach. I am not sure if they are gas or indications of the monthly visit. I talked with Mom this morning she wasn’t feeling that well still but has a full day today. First thing she had been the blood tests and then her Physical therapy and then after...

December 19, 2006

I am not sure what is going on here but this is weird. I am not sure if I have done something or not to the page set up but it seems very weird. Anyway, the day was a little hectic. I got a lot done but still have lots to do. I have a ton of collection letters to fold and they are getting old. If I don’t get them done I am so dead. Mom really annoyed me today. I called her to see how she did at the doctors today and she started to ask me if I was doing any of my holiday cards at work. I tried to explain to her these were for the people who work there. She insisted on telling me what I should or should not be doing at work and on Yale time. I told Ann about it and she said Mom meant well. Rhona Haynes came back today and called me a few times to remind me about our brunch/luncheon tomorrow as though I fell out of a tree or something. She then had the nerve to tell me or I should say ask me to bring something other than what I had planned. Well excuse me but Mom was already work...
