This wonderful holiday started early for me with a beautiful walk and looking at a beautiful sunrise.  After the walk I showered, dressed and packed up the car with a few of the presents to distribute.  I headed over back to my house and was greeted by a gift from Neighbor Dolan's (their traditional cookies and some socks) and with disdain by the kitties.  I quickly got to feeding the kitties and cleaning out their boxes.  They still were playing hard to get but eventually got over it.  I did some more laundry before leaving and will get it out tomorrow upon my return. Once I finished there it was nearly ten so I headed to Liz and Nelson’s with a quick stop at the post office.  Nothing was there (not really surprised as I haven’t mailed anything with that address of late).  Traffic was not bad at all this morning.  What would normally take 15 minutes took less. When I arrived Liz was playing cards with Rich and Friend Rick was visiting. ...

Oy Vey.  My sister called me on saturday to check in and to let me know a cousin sent an email that has upset her very much.  It was mainly directed at her but it also included DLH and myself because we didn’t include Jim in the family wide email about Nelson or the birthday party.  He also sent it to the entire list of cousins.  He basically told Liz whatever issues she has with our brother to “get over it”.  He called her some names too.  Later on that day I got a text from Jim about the dates for the scholarship and then he also led into me for not telling him about the party or about Nelson and I feel he got nasty with me.  I also most shot off the reply but decided to wait and talk it over with Debra. Liz and I discussed at great lengths (she talked I listened) about it later that day and she is very hurt and angry with cousin J for this and isn’t going to apologize for anything.  she feels if she has done something someone needs to step ...

Good Morning and Happy New Year!  I hope 2015 is healthy and all that you hoped for.  I have been up since 7.  I woke up to puppy poop.  I am not sure which of the two of them did it this time but I got them out as soon as i woke up.  I am pretty sure I will find some more when I go back. I got back to the house by 8:30 this morning and the kitties were doing what they normally do (Sky came downstairs and greeted me) and Tiger was in her in spot.  I got them fed and then worked on the litter boxes.  I sat down and sky came to me...While the kitties ate I grabbed Tiger and held her she wasn’t thrilled but it lasted longer than usual.  Right now they are both cuddled up in the closet.  I was glad because for a brief moment I thought Tiger got into the laundry closet as I left it open to empty dryer.  I also took the opportunity to close the bedroom door and vacuumed upstairs and managed to get the litter that was all over the floor in ...

Happy New Year’s Eve everyone!  It is going to be a very long one for me.   I was awake at 4 am this morning.  I couldn’t sleep for some reason so I checked the house and yes there were packages for me.  I was getting a little frustrated by this because I actually cleaned up a few spots that I had missed a day or two early.  I really didn’t have the appropriate cleaning supplies but I got most of it.   I managed to get them out at a fairly decent yet early time so that I could do some errands before heading to work.  One of them still left me a gift.  Can I return it? It was some time after 6 when I got to the bagel place on Bridgeport avenue .  I have to say I am not impressed.  They literally put 2 dozen bagels into a shopping bag.  They were not in plastic bags and there was no cream cheese.  I had no idea that I was supposed to ask for it.  I figured it came with it.  I don’t think  I will be go...

As I mentioned last night Tiger-Lily was playing hard to get in front of the Chris’ but this morning when I got there she came out after I checked in on her.  Sky came down when he heard my voice.  When I walked in I could smell something and knew I had to get to those boxes.  Luckily I haven’t found anything else anywhere else.  But I did notice the curtains on one of the windows was slightly down.  I tried to fix it but there were time constraints.  I probably should not have put it over the back of the sofa but at 7:15 brain wasn't working.  She is still skittish and almost took the food from my fingers but you-know-who wanted it.  He also ran around too. When I went back there again in the afternoon things looked okay.  Tiger was in her safe spot on the TV stand.  She was there a good long time.  I tried to get her out but she came out on her on before I left.  So I sat down on one of the chairs and Sky came and sat wit...

Despite the fact I have complained loudly about going to the movies and seeing all those ads and previews that I could watch for free at home there are some movies I would like to see some time.  They are in no particular order: Unbroken-It looked interesting and its about history on some level. Hobbit/Armies-its the last one Into the Woods-I never saw the play and I am interested in seeing this. Night at the Museum 3-I saw the others and I enjoyed it. Annie-I want see if this is better than the original. If I can sit through those insidious ads and promos then it should be okay.  I don’t know when I will get to see them but this would be a goal for me. I got up early to find packages in the couple of places.  I managed to get them out and hoped they hadn’t done anything else.  I was wrong.  After work I headed back here and spent time with the pups.  I was tired and had to clean up some “piles”.  Before going to back to the house I t...

I was driving back to the pups tonight and the sun hadn’t quite gone below the horizon and I looked up at this cloud formation and I swear it looked like a huge bird flying.  As I am sitting here writing the first thing was a Phoenix but it wasn’t bright red.  It just looked beautiful to me.   The temperatures today were in the high 40’s today.  It didn’t feel like a real cold winter day but it will in the days ahead.  There is no rain or snow in the forecast for this week but it is supposed drop to the 30’s this week.  The first week of January is a different story though. I joined   Pinterest tonight.  Could someone tell me what I should do next?  I picked my interests and already found a cute thing about kittens.  Sigh I miss the kittens tonight.  I even tried to share it with facebook but it didn’t work.  Actually I tried a second time then it worked. The pups had a barking session that lasted a long time. ...

Because I haven’t stopped coughing last night  I think I ate something that triggered as well.  I went to Stop and Shop and picked up some food for dinner (onion rings, chicken wings and pot stickers) and they were all good.  I also got some hummus and chips.  Something there must have triggered the cough. I had  no problems feed the dogs.  While Packy ate i took Preston for a walk (he had already finished his dinner) by the time I got back someone had already pooped.  I have already had to clean up the floor already.   Anyway haven’t done much except watch TV and try to sleep.   THis morning the pups were in their places but they left me some packages.  I got them both out this morning after that.  Preston is usually very good about not pooping in the house.  I missed something that’s for sure.   When I got home today Sky was waiting for me on the top of the stairs.  I got him fed and a short while later...

When I came home tonight to the kids (felines) I spent about an hour with them.  Actually more with Sky and he let me pet him and after a while he would lick and then start to bite.  Eventually he came out from under the footstool that Mom put in there and has some of her clothes in there.  He also tried to bite me but not too hard but I told him no but Liz says that’s all part of it.  I found Tiger-Lilly’s latest hiding place lower bookshelf in Mom’s office.  I tried to get her out of there to check her out from this morning but she took off again.  Didn’t have time to chase her again. It was around 5:30 when I got here.. It was lightly raining but not that bad.  Packy was waiting by the door and Preston was barking in the other room.  i just talked with them and then picked up Packy and took him about back just as the instructions read.  Then I took Preston out.  He was well behaved and didn’t growl at me.  Dinner was okay. ...

Well I believe Sky and Tiger-Lilly (thanks to Liz) are becoming comfortable in their new surroundings.  When I got home last night I found several papers, and address book, and cards that I had on the dresser on the floor.  This morning I found the Hurricane Lamp from out back on the floor.  The bulb and the Glass lampshade is broken.  Its all cleaned up and I checked Sky and he is fine.  Couldn’t find Tiger-Lily but I will try later.   Good news Sky kissed my finger twice!  Twirls..He also let me hold him a little longer than he has since I got him home.  I wish TL would but she goes into hiding and i tried to look for her and then I give her space.  I will check on them when I stop home this evening. At least I know either one or both of them is eating the kibble.  it was much lower than a day or two.  I don’t fill it every night because its already full. April 14, 2014 Dear Friends:     This weekend was not the best weekend.  Friday night after chasing after “Max” when he escaped from the back yard I fell while holding on to him and he got loose from me-again.  I had scraped hands, knees and bruised hand not to mention ego.    Lucky wasn’t being at all lovable so I left him to his own devices.     Mom was sleeping when I came home so I let her sleep after getting a few instructions from Liz.   I woke her up for her meds at 9 and then a half hour later she went back to sleep and I eventually went to bed.  The rest of the weekend between was the pits.  She was obnoxious and mean spirited.  Yes I realize she may not be feeling well but when she mistakenly thought I was on warfarin I tried to tell her and she was rude.  So she was absolutely unbearable for the rest of the weekend.  As I have maintained I don’t give a flying fuck that she is sick...

April 11, 2014 Dear Friends: I am sorry for the disappearing act but its been hectic and busy and I just got so tired that I couldn’t write.   Of course the last few days are quickly becoming a blur.  I saw Debra mid-week and it went fine and by quickly.  I gave her the highlights of the week that included Family, work,  and the health. Work is fine despite the fact my boss catching me online when I should have been working.  I actually was but it wasn’t a good time.  She didn’t say anything which I am grateful for but I still had the guilt trip  The mail volume was doubled at one point but now is back to normal for now.   I did get the journals earlier than normal.    There was a lunchtime meeting for Local 34 on Wednesday.  It was basically and update to the activities going on.  I have to check with my fellow union peeps who went.  I would have been there but it conflicted with my appointment with D...

March 22, 2014 Dear Friends: I almost started this entry at 3 this morning.  I couldn't sleep so I ambled around the house (to check if any unexpected packages were around.  Happily the boys had behaved.  I was quite surprised that at one point Preston returned to his chair to sleep for a few hours.   It felt odd that he didn’t stay but I did get some more sleep.  They did wake me up around 7:30 or so and we went for our walk.  Now I did some laundry and had breakfast sent some emails and relaxing. I had some errands to run before the morning was through and then just hang out  here. At least I think that’s what I am going to do.  I sent an email to Mom this morning  but called her when I got back.  She was heading out to the store later in the day. March 21, 2014 Dear Friends: It was a beautiful chilly morning this morning and after a rather sleepless night it was a welcome change.  Actually the night wasn’t that bad.  Around 10:30 Monsour Preston decided that he wanted to cuddle with me on the bed.  He was going to plant himself near my face but I was a little apprehensive so I had him move down a little.  He listened and planted himself next to me.  After a while he got under the covers and then moved right next to me like a person.  He was content just staying there.  He let me pet him on the head and anytime I would have to get out of bed I let him know.   He was cooperative this morning.  He did start to growl when I pet him one more time as I left.  I continued to talk with him and tell him and packy they were both good boys.  I did notice Packy started to growl again and Preston was no where near him.  I am hoping the boys will want to go out this aftern...

February 9, 2014 Dear Friends: Good evening I hope you have had a good afternoon and a safe and warm night.  Mom and I just finished our dinner.     As I mentioned before Mom made spare ribs.  I thought they were delicious but she was disappointed in them this time.  She actually as most cases couldn’t finish all of her dinner.  She relaxed and watched Sunday PBS while I cleaned the kitchen.  I actually have to go back down and empty the garbage and recycle cans because its time.  I was planning on doing it later but I can see its starting to snow now. The clouds for this “snow’ started rolling in just as Liz left this afternoon and by then the temperatures were in the 30’s.  It is about 28 now and will be dropping to low 20’s before the night is old.
