Been a Busy Day

Dear Debra: Today has been such a great day.  I left here just around 8 and stopped at DD to get coffee.  I got to the house did our daily routine. I put the TV on for a bit and then got ready for the Museum visit.  The Drive to Tina’s house wasn’t bad even though I overshot the exit but I managed to find it the back way. Before we left downtown we took a few minutes to decide exactly what we would do and where we would park.  Well we went to Yale University Art Gallery for their Sights and Sounds of Ancient Rituals ,  It was on the 4th floor and was very interesting to see what they had.  There were pieces that were small bricks that had very tiny writing and it was beautiful.  It took about 45 minutes and I found it to be very interesting We also also went to the Bookstore to look around.  It just reminded me that I had two books at home that I haven’t even picked up to read yet.  The bookstore was fairly busy even though the cit...

Dear Debra 12/27/18

Good Morning: It is quarter of eight on a beautiful Winter day.  It is in the low 30’s outside and no sign of snow. I have been up since 5:30.  I have already fed and walked at least one furby and he has been a peach. Very cuddly.  I am still not totally trusting him yet. The cat has been fed too still have to check on two more critters around here and then heading to the house for another round of feeding. Then I will be getting ready for my visit with Tina from work.  I am picking her up at 10 and we will figure out what we will be doing for the day.  There are a number of options and exhibits in the city to see. It will be great to catch up with her and see what her plans are for the winter and work.  I always enjoy this because we get to see things and see New Haven in a different perspective then we would normally. Today is my Nephew Christian’s Birthday he is 44 years old.  I can’t believe it. I remember when he was born! It was ...

This Weekend

The house has been very hot at night for the last few days.  I usually tell Liz and anyone else that we have a great breeze.  Well because it has been hot I made sure all windows are open.  The ceiling fans and the window fans are all on.  I don’t want to use the AC.  Right now there is a breeze a very light breeze coming through.  The weather forecast is predicting thunderstorms in areas.  I hope it cools it off because it is becoming uncomfortable. The whole thing with the checking account and why the charges I got were straightened out.  I have to really pay attention to the “funds available” a little better.  The guy who helped us suggested I use mint.com to do the checkbook and balancing the account.  I took a little bit of a look but didn’t sign up yet.  I thought I would do it with Liz this afternoon when we go over it.  We were supposed to do it yesterday after my trip to Oxford but both Liz and I were too tired....

A Lovely Day

I had a lovely time with Mama Joanie yesterday.   After each of us had some things in the morning to do we had to change the meeting/lunch date time to 1 pm.   This allowed me to get my car register for this year.   I made a call to Nardelli’s Deli on Route 67 and ordered us each a sandwich.   Mama’s was Tuna mine was Eggplant Parmigiana I left here just about 12:15.   The GPS was taking its sweet time warming up (I really hate that thing) and once it got going it had me drive to Racebrook Road and then to Route 34.   I knew I could have gone two other ways but I still followed it. I was sure I was going to be late when I got caught behind a dump truck for like 8 miles.   I was going crazy.   I finally decided to go around it and picked up speed a little.   I got to the exit I needed and was surprised how quickly I got to Oxford.   I found Nardelli’s quickly (I must have put the wrong number in to GPS because it wasn’t w...

dear Mom

Dear Mom, I am glad its the weekend.  I had another long and busy day  on Friday and it didn’t seem like it was going to get any better.  I still have to tally up the last couple of days of re-address mail but I did close to 250.  I think I made another dent in it but more always seem to come in. As I was leaving the light in the bedroom went on.  The one on a timer.  It hasn’t done that the whole time we installed it.  I suspect I must have pushed something to make it go on.  If it does I really don’t mind it will go off a little while later.  Actually it is still on as I write this and its after 8. The weather was very cold and messy in the morning yesterday but by the time I got home it was mostly cloudy.  I was cold even though I had turned the heat up so after I looked for a couple of things for LIz  I got under the blankets for a while to watch TV.  I dropped off the documents that I did have for her to the hous...

What an Absolutely Beautiful Day

It was so beautiful today. It was not too hot and not too cold. It was so nice and I didn’t think it would be the way it started off. It was cloudy and foggy. The temperature right now is 74 degrees. I went out at lunch time with JanetN. It is supposed to be clear for the next six hours. Sun set is slated for 6:26 pm. I was really busy today. I worked on more of the re-address mail and worked on the mail until about Noon. I had an email tat I had to save from JudyF (temp supervisor) forcefully reminding me that return mail and stuff like that is not a priority. That I MUST get scanning once mail is done. That really ticked me off. So when SR gets upset and rattles on about being behind I can show it to her. I did speak to JudyF about it and she was okay with my explanation. Once I was pretty much done with the mail I set up the desk where I would be scanning and then went to Lunch with JanetN. I totally forgot to ask Mama Joanie and at first she was a little put out. She was f...

Going Apple Picking Today

Good Morning! I am leaving in 15 minutes with Dave to meet Mary and her sons at the restaurant for lunch and then go to the Orchard. I suspect we will also do the Corn Maze. That should be fun. Not really but what the hay. Hey everyone I am back. It has been a long day. Dave didn’t get here until around 11:15 and we had to wait a bit because Mary was still at church. I told Dave they should have said this originally. I mean I could have done bingo if I tried and also went to church. I was going to go at 8:30 but by the time it came time I didn’t. We started off at 11:30 and headed to the Meeting place while we were driving Mary called and said she would not be getting there until 1. So we made a few side stops. (Now that I am writing this so late I can’t remember what order they were.) They were Dunkin Doughnuts, Vinnie’s garden shop they all didn’t take very long. Mary and the kids were just ordering when got there (we had no trouble finding it). It was in a lovely place on Route 66. ...

Easter 2008

Good morning and Happy Easter everyone. I was just heading to bed and thought I would write a quick entry. I can’t seem to sleep so I have been watching Van Helsing and the Ten Commandments. Yesterday was a pretty good day. I spent the morning doing a little of the laundry and spending most of the morning doing letters. Mom went and had her hearing aids adjusted. I have a feeling just as the Dr. told her that these hearing aids will not do it for her. Lorraine and Aunt Ann arrived her just about 12:30 quarter of 1. We went out to lunch to Kimberly Diner over by the police station. Mom had an omelet and Lorraine had waffle with sausage, I had a cheeseburger w/ lettuce and Tomato. Anne had French toast. Mom made comment when I was ordering and I told her not to do it. She would also bring it up later when they left. “Oh you shouldn’t have gotten such a big lunch’. When someone else is paying for it you shouldn’t get an expensive meal (it was $6). When she heard that she rec...

Many Thoughts

I have so much going through my head right now. I did not get a chance to write at all while at work. Although I found time to get online a few times. I left here a little after 7:15. Mom was just getting up and having coffee and about to get ready fro her meeting at Bridges. The drive in wasn’t bad at all. Well maybe when I was pulling into the parking spot. One car was coming at me and didn’t look like he was going to stop. Thankfully he did. I kvetched about it to someone. I got to the office a little before 8 and managed to pick up the mail from Customer Service and Registration. I even took some to Registration. The day went pretty well. I started off with the charts and there were like 32 (I counted them) MR. Mike from Gofor had to bring them in two totes (the long ones that look the chests you bring to college. I sorted them and delivered them. While I was sorting Arcenia brought me the lockbox for today. It wasn’t bad but would have to until I did yesterday’s post office mail. ...

The Community Service Luncheon

In about an hour we will be leaving for the luncheon. Mom’s friend Stella wants to drive us. Mom and I have been getting ready. I had do last minute laundry for the black jacket I am wearing with the skirt and blouse I am wearing. We are showered and almost dressed. I watched a little bit of TV and was surfing the net for a bit. I was checking the forums and about to check the emails. I also checked my bank account and notice the Secretary of the DTC just cashed my check from November. That is so screwing my account up. She had no right to do that. I see Dottie and Ronnie are continuing to be rude and snotty and demanding of things in regards to the club and the current crisis situation. Telka has said to everyone that she can no longer access documents that she once had because the programs do not work on her new computer (regarding to accessing the by-laws). Dottie doesn’t seem to be getting that information. The whole luncheon was lovely. I met up with people whom I hadn...

What a dayI had Friday

Oh what a day! I had some rough patches with Mom over directions to Wallingford. She got over it after awhile but it still bothered me. I left around 10:30 in the pouring rain and when it came time for me to get off at the exit indicated I got confused because they were going to have me go up to route 22 and onto the Merritt/Wilbur Cross pkwy) and route 5 was right there! I had started going in the direction they said but had doubted it and turned around I drove all the way out to route 5 and it was long. There was an accident on that highway and it was stressing me out. I finally found Applebee’s (after stopping at car dealership and asking for directions) and found Mardi waiting for me. We sat in the car and chatted until 11:30. We were not sure what time it opened but we got in were seated quickly and we spent the next half hour 45 minutes talking about our family, and health, and work. When we finished we said goodbye and we went our separate ways. I had the best time. ...
