It is Cinco De Mayo today and I should be interested but I am not.  I am more interested in the fact I was able to see my Great Niece Sophie who is celebrating her birthday.  Her mother sent me a text shortly after i was texting with her grandma and invited me.  So as soon I finished with Bingo I went there.  I got there before my sister and brother in law.  I got to see my Nephew Rich, and my Yale co workers as well.  Very excited about that.  There was a number of extended family there too.  Food was great.  Fruit and veggies and then stuffed breads, and of course cupcakes.  When it came time to sing to Sophie we got to see Chris and Jason and Audrey.  The best part was when Sophie held on to me while walking towards her grandmother.  She has a strong grip. I woke up with another headache again.  I really have to get rid of those pillows sometime.  Well bulk pick up is next week so they will go then.  ANywa...

Yesterday was the union protest at the commencement.  It was discussed on the news all weekend but by the time I left for work is when I found out it wasn’t going to be just a silent vigil.  IT turned out to be a long march from the union office all the way to Broadway and then back where we greeted the graduates and applauded.  Quite frankly I am annoyed because this is not what we were told and we should have been told.  By the end of the day my ankles were swollen and my legs hurt.  There was a de-briefing  lunch at the union hall today.  I decided not to go because i could still feel my ankles against the shoes.  It took me awhile to get home yesterday too.  I don’t remember that happening last year. For the record 20 minutes in the garage and 15 to get out of the city.   Last night was the creative writing contest reception at City hall.  Before I got there I had to stop and get more cookies and get gas or I would not have...

The House began to stir at quarter of 6 this morning.   The cats and I did our regular early morning routine.   After a while Sky started caterwauling so I let him downstairs.   I did not want him to wake R and M as they had to be out of here around 8.   Dr. T called this morning to see if they were available so I explained that they would be home by 6 tonight so she decided that she would come at that time and would call first.   I had sent a text to her around 1 before falling asleep with that message something tells me it didn’t work, I spent the rest of the morning getting better scores on the crossword puzzle site.   It worked for a bit and then I slept until Sky woke me up because he was meowing so much.   I heard from Liz this morning they are both still very tired (can understand that) .   She hoped that the kids would stay away so they could rest.   There is nothing wrong with that but I think that also should mean all o...

Last night before I went to bed I checked the weather report for today.  Do you know they were saying it was going to snow last night?  IT didn’t.  I checked a few times.  Now granted it could have from the time I actually fell asleep but I didn’t when I woke up during the night.  There was no snow on the ground when I got up this morning in fact the sun was shining.  I did get to watch an interesting video on why it's so quiet after it snows.  Very interesting (it is sound proofing material and as it melts it lessens). Anyway there is no snow in the forecast for this weekend only clouds and cold winds. Today is my hair appointment.  I think it includes the touch up to the haircolor.  I am not sure if it is also the trim.  I am not sure if I could have cancelled it to go to the UConn game. The sun came out for a short time yesterday afternoon on my way home from the gift delivery.  It went back in about ten minutes later.  When I got  home I had been checking some stuff.   The gift delivery was fine for the most part until we were told socks, toothpaste and combs were not on the okay list. I was so annoyed because it seemed like Telka either ignored the list  because these things ended up in as gifts but we did a bit of retconning.  I have a feeling I was going to get a call on Monday from Natalie.  I am really glad i kept the letter she sent us.  The two of the things she said were on the list were not.   The rest of the afternoon i was watching TV and did a little laundry.  I have more and will be doing it later.  I had a cheeseburger for lunch and a simplyHealth Smart for dinner. The kitties both finally came downstairs at two different times and have stayed down and so I have put the chest back firmly. ...

As you know I did the cheesecake bright and early this morning.  In the afternoon I went to my friend Dr. T’s house to make 15 apple pies and watched them make the dog treats.  As usual there were a handful of girls who didn’t show, or didn’t call until last minute.  This is an issue that has been ongoing for quite some time and it will be addressed at the next meeting. I stayed until six to wait for the treats to cool and get packaged.  It gave me an opportunity to catch up with Dr. T since our last activity and without the girls present.  We even had an opportunity to catch up with our friend Jolyn when she stopped by to pick up her pie order.  She is one busy lady. I went to Boston Market for dinner and came home and ate it while the beasts continue to sleep.  After I cleaned up and filled the kibble (they came down stairs for a bit).  I did only a fwe things as Livia was coming tomorrow. I am making this a short one tonight.   I am not feeling well and I am tired.   It started just as I was coming home tonight from work. Had a busy day at work today.   I spent the morning working on refunds while the afternoon was the mail.   We are going to be promoting breast cancer awareness month by wearing pink all month (yes it’s almost over I know) and we will be having a breakfast sometime next week I heard.   I will try and find something pink besides my sweater. I heard from Natalie today (had some cell phone interference) and finalized the list of what we can give at Christmas time to the residents.   I sent that list to Dr. T this evening.   Now if we are still running next year we will have this on record as I will be saving it in the computer files. I had steak and potatoes and salad for dinner along with ahem frosting.   Didn’t eat all of it and no I don’t think that’s what causing my current problem. The kitties are...

Still waiting on Hurricane Hermine to hit.   I am betting though I am going to be highly disappointed in this.   Even though it was so beautiful (and at times very cloudy) nothing really happened here.   Constant updates and preparation reports.   Late last night Yale sent out the alert about keeping an “eye” on the storm and that preparations will be in place in case of power outages and stuff like that.   Today has been nice and cool.   I have only the ceiling fans on and windows opened.   Admittedly there have been a few moments where I have been under the covers.   I really don’t know how it will be by the end of the day or tomorrow. Yesterday was a busy day.   It started early with Liz’s visit.   We worked on the check book and somehow I am 54 cents off.   I am not sure how considering I have been doing it for the past couple of weeks and its been to the penny.   A part of me is rather annoyed.   I will take...

This afternoon I have quite a bit to do.  First is my bingo then I am meeting with my realtor Niece to begin the process of the condo search.  Then after that is the MYWC board meeting and ice cream social.  You would think I was really looking forward to all of it.  I am not. I ended up vomiting this morning from something I had for dinner last night.  It was very spicy and it apparently didn’t sit well with my stomach.  I am surprised it didn’t start last night but it didn’t happen until this morning as I was feeding the kitties.  All I want to do this morning is sleep.  I am not sure drinking coffee is going to be helpful. So about last night?  I was a tad late but waiting for the table was going to be a half hour if we wanted to go out on the patio.  So we waited and talked about everything.  It was pretty good but I still would get annoyed with him for things he either didn’t hear me or wasn’t listening.  We did ...

For the first time in a long time I had to put a sweat shirt on last night.  It was very breezy and as the sun was setting and I was trying to ward off another headache it got much cooler.  Of course I kept the fans on and that probably made it worse.  The headache eventually went away but I still feel that I have a pillow or strong allergy to the mattress.  There is a cover still on it but the sheets are so stretched out they have pulled off from it.  I have always gotten a headache when I sleep on mattresses without the sheets.  I may have to get new pillows again.  Or more bed linens. I have been thinking about what Cheryl said about perhaps renovating the house where I can stay here with the cats.  It was something Liz had mentioned once before to me.   If memory serves me Liz had once suggested that we make the dining room my bedroom (as we did for Mom’s final days).  We probably would put up a few extended walls wher...

The Peapod arrived just after 11:30 but I didn’t see a text alert or the email to let me know.   I see the furry behind of Tiger who must have been sleeping under the sofa this morning running up the stairs.   I don’t know if I should complain much but the first thing the guy did was to park in the neighbor’s driveway.   Granted he didn’t know that it was not mine if you look at it quickly you could easily think it belonged to the house.   I asked him to move and he did.   The couple of things that I got were either crushed (cereal boxes, and some of the frozen dinners).   It isn’t the first time but I don’t want it to become regular occurrence.   I have already started my next list. Once the food was put away I made my standard steak lunch with no additional foods.   I was thinking of what to do for future meals and I was thinking of making meatloaf.   It has been a while but while watching Pioneer Woman I saw how easy it looked an...

Work is going okay.  We received announcement that in July new CFO will be starting.  It has been said by many he will be a hands on type of employer.  He will be coming from UT Medical Center in Dallas.  Morning activities kind of slow until lunchtime when the work comes in.  Have been helping out with sending out refund checks.   The Arts and Ideas festival continues for another four days and as usual I haven’t gotten there.  As usual by the time I get home I don’t usually want to come back into the city.  Traffic has been bearish.  On the weekends I haven’t felt like going back in because I want to relax and now will have to start preparing for my NC trip. I haven’t done much with the woman’s club but called Dr. T today but she wasn’t home.  We haven’t had any more interaction with the state org regarding the dues situation but I will find out soon if we are or what the next step is.  I will probably also find out w...

It is so beautiful out.   It was in the 70’s when I woke up at 6 this morning and it has been a pleasant breeze too.   I got the kitties fed and watered took care of the litterboxes and then went back to sleep on the couches for a couple of hours. The kitties are each in their spot sleeping I think.   I was a little worried about them yesterday.   I was watching Tiger chew on the material under the spring mattress and I stopped her and then ten minutes later after she jumped from the cedar chest heaved it back up.   We came downstairs and I noticed deposits on the dining room floor.   I don’t know which one did it but I kept talking with them and looking them over.   I am not sure if they are reacting to the new flaky filet stuff or it’s just the heat.   I notice they do eat it all when I feed it to them.   Then I read something on Facebook from the PetMD site that says it’s not a good sign when cats continue to run away when people...

The kitties were running around here and at one point Tiger started hissing at Sky. I think they were pretty hungry because they were also trying to get me up.   When I went to feed them they wouldn’t eat the canned food. They did the same thing yesterday.   Now they are quiet considering I opened the cellar door for them to come and go as they please. It is gray and cloudy and started raining about an hour ago.   I have a feeling it never rained last night.   So it might be a rainy Sunday today.   That’s okay as I don’t have much to do today. Oh I talked with Jim via text yesterday and I am a little annoyed.   He can’t make it this Wednesday for the first HS Scholarship presentation because he has to work.   I could have sworn he said he was going to make it for this one and the next one.   Now it’s only the one on June 1 st .   Really?   Now Liz is checking her schedule to see if she can make it.    I got message...

I was awoken very early this morning and tried to stay in bed and was able to stay in bed until 6:30.  I fed the cats and had some hot chocolate and watched TV and then eventually the LOTR trilogy.  That was fun as MS Tiger sat on my lap for a good long time.  I am not so sure where they are at the moment but I am guessing on the bed upstairs sleeping. They probably will be up there until I get back from the afternoon. I won't get to see LIz or Nelson today as they should be on their way to Old Saybrook for the CPTV Series Finale party for Dowton Abbey.  They will be getting dressed up and enjoying the meals and era and the last episode.  I just sent a text to them and they are half way there now.  They are Stopping at some Cheese Cafe place to have lunch.  Never heard of it but I would love to go.  Liz says she made reservations at a hotel down the street from the event so that they don't get so over tired and stuff like that. Every time I have an very busy weekend I usually like to have the following weekend or part of the weekend to relax and catchup.  Today is that day.  I don't have to be anywhere if I don't need to and its pretty cold out to boot so I want to stay in with the kitties.  I have some laundry to do and some cooking but nothing that needs to be done outside. I am sad to find out a dear friend of mine has a very sick kitty.  Jack has cancer and they don't know how long he has.  I met Jack a long time ago when I visited his Mom for our first "Andromeda" fan weekend.  At least i think that is the one.  I have followed Mardi ever since then and loved hearing about her babes.  I want her to know that we here in the  KP home are thinking of you and sending prayers. Today was the Valentines Delivery at the Birmingham Nursing Facility.  Roberta and I got there just about 10:30 and we found Dr. T and Yung starting to set up and wait for the othres to arrive. Only one girl did but the others never did.  This is beyond annoying.  Apparently who ever was supposed to drop them off woke up late.  Did it occur to these delightful young and really irresponsible girls to wake them up?  Dr. T said if she had known she would have gone and picked them up!!!.  Dr. T was so pleased that 9 girls out of say 20 showed up to the one we did at WRHC here in town.  Big Freaking deal.  I am so flipping tired of these girls promising they are going to do something and then they don't.  I have asked them to come help me at bingo every Sunday.   They never show up!!! This week has really gone by fast again.   My hope is to have tomorrow Friday off for the long weekend.   I am still waiting on Supervisor to approve it.   I hope he will when he gets in from a meeting. Work has been good.   Been able to work with the epic system logging in the refund checks.   I basically keep up with things.   I haven’t heard any updates on the negotiations for the newest contract.   I am sure we will be getting some soon.   On Tuesday I submitted the FMLA stuff to the leave coordinator.   I hope they review it and let me know when (and soon) it is approved.   They will probably email me or send me a formal response home. The DTC caucus went well our immediate district has ten open seats bringing our number to 33 but currently have 24.   Including a woman who joined that night.   There are new rules about registering for the DTC.    The new slight is voted in at our March meeting. Well sky is all set with his shots until the summer.   We left here shortly before ten.   The new crate nearly fell apart but seemed to be okay.   I drove to Mama Roberta and Papa Mike’s house so they could get an up close look at him.   He cried on the way over and a little bit while there.   But he was well behaved and still “cuddled” with me while he was on the table. He is just shy of 13 lbs.   It was sometime after 11 when I got back and I let him out and he walked around and then hid for a while.   Tiger was waiting for us at the top of the stairs and I sat and watched TV.   Mostly channel surfing. Lunch was steak and vegetables and a semi quick clean up.   The rest of the day got lazy until it was time for the meds dispensing.
