Been So Long

It’s been so long since I last actually posted any of my blog entries this week.   I keep saying I will go back over them and finish them and then post but then more time goes by and gets away from me. The house and condo situation :   Well Liz and I have been making a lot of progress with clearing out project.   We managed to get the cellar cleaned out with the help of a friend of hers and of my BIL.   Made several trips to goodwill and made a trip to the dump.   Some of the things that are left will be going to friends and family.   In the weekend coming up I believe we will be working on the Attic and then bedrooms, and then office and then finally the kitchen and dining room.   Jim will be speaking to “He who will not be named” by Labor Day and apprising him of the progress.   I am told that Liz suggested that Jim also discuss perhaps begin the process of having “he who will not be named (the lawyer)” removed as the trustee and perh...

Its gonna be a hot one

It is 79 degrees in the city and back home.   It is supposed to go into the 90’s by this afternoon.   Then drop to the 80’s overnight.   We are supposed to get a break in the heat with thunderstorms tomorrow afternoon or evening. I am that point where I hope it cools down things (something tells me it won’t). Well I guess I should tell you I had a hard time sleeping last night.   That late afternoon/evening coffee would be the culprit as well as the tooth again.   I spent a lot of time on Words with Friends I & II.   I don’t think I fell asleep until maybe 2.   I woke up with a headache.   I didn’t take all of the early morning water that I am supposed to.   I was afraid that the oral gel I applied would be wash away.   I did take my meds including some Tylenol, so I should feel better soon. I called the Oral Surgeon to schedule an appointment and I was told as soon as they convert the registration packet from electronic they w...

An Active Day

Good Morning! It is a sunny beautiful Sunday morning.   It is 75 and going to get hotter.   I will be leaving in about 2 hours for the solo walk in Maclean Nature Preserve in Granby.   I was just reading some of the comments from members and overall they loved it.   One had to back out because of the heat (oh and two of them did it yesterday and the other did it last week sometime.   It is supposed to be equally hot up there but one of the participants said she went at 10 yesterday and it was lovely. When I spoke to Alex about this he said to be sure to drink lots of water and prepare for this hike.   I am trying to drink some water now and will have a protein shake or two before going but I plan on bringing Jell-O and pudding with me.   (I can’t have any real solids just yet). I am not sure how many I am taking (it’s a two hour hike and easy) so probably not much there is a farm/brewery near there (no not going there to drink but will look around)...

working

Today was my first day back after 3 months because of the Corona Virus Quarantine and the State was in shelter in place.   I have been waiting for this day for so long.   I regretted my decision to stop working until we had to come back.   If you remember the second week of the shut down my supervisor asked me to come and do the mail.   I did until April 6 after being urged and cajoled by family and friends to not risk my health.   So with the blessings of my bosses I stopped working.   Proceeded to get bored and not do much. I wasn’t sure what to expect.   Well I knew there would be some changes for the social distancing and I wasn’t sure who would be in.   As there were some objections from some of them I learned last week.   I wasn’t sure how GA or Shadow would react to me coming back or my reasons for not working.   Yes I know I shouldn’t care but both or one of them would question why.   I was pleasantly surprised to find out...

Need to rethink my day

We did our normal routine this morning and I decided to lay down for at least an hour.   JOC and I were supposed to go for a walk at 8:30 and while I was showering and getting ready she sent me a text.   Telling me she would have to bale.   So I have been slow on moving and resorting to watching TV again. It is overcast right now and 70 degrees out and it feels nice.   The forecast is calling for showers today.   My front yard looks great or at least better but the back yard not so much. I may have said this but I would much prefer that Mother Nature do the work instead of me hauling the hose all over the place.   Besides that our water authority (which is the water company) is asking the residents of the city not to water the lawns right now.   The water has been brown in some areas. Supervisor Bob sent out an email to the staff recalling us to work on Monday.   He did say some of us will be moved around to follow social distancing requiremen...

Independence Day 2020

G00d Morning and Happy Birthday America!   This has been a year hasn’t it? It can only get better I think.   WE have gone through so much only to show we can be resilient.   So last night I watched most of the Wrath of Khan and a little of the Search for Spock.   I had gone outside to see where the fireworks were being shot off from.   I could barely see them and they were really loud either but I did walk to the end of my street and looked towards West Haven and noticed there were some that way.   I am figuring it was near the HS or grounds of a couple of schools nearby Sky was sitting on the sofa above my head and then took off.   I found them both at either end of my old bedroom.    There are only 4 places that are officially holding firework displays this week in the area.   Of course I was surprised when I heard them until I went outside and it had stopped raining. Today has been a normal day (well accidently pocket dialing the...

Spent most of the night

I couldn’t sleep last night worrying about the finances.   I decided sometime after midnight I would have to get back on a budget (I hate budgets) .   Over the years I tried being on budget but never could figure out a good one to have.   Many times I would just ignore them.   Well last night I went to wikihow.com to look for simple budgets and I think I may have found them.   The whole setting up is a pain.   I use the credit cards for almost everything.   So I am not sure if should list only once or separate them.    I found out that even though I may only pay the insurances for the house or car once a year or twice a year figure divide it monthly.   I never could see that on the paper.   I am going to have to talk to Debra tonight about it. Poor Sky….he had been sleeping in close proximity to me and he did curl up with me the few times I tried to sleep by the time I was ready to actually sleep it was his turn to get up and ambl...

Another rainy start to the weekend

Good morning it’s Friday again.   It is 64 degrees and cloudy and rainy for the day but it will eventually be in the 70’s.   It will be the same way until tomorrow afternoon or evening.   Sunday is supposed to be better. I would like to say I had a great time at the trivia game last night unfortunately, the background static and interference made it difficult.   Author51 did an awesome job as emcee.   It really gave me a headache.   I don’t know what’s going on and I don’t think it’s the computers but the internet.    I am not making sense but again we pay for good quality services and the providers should make sure they are doing what is necessary. After the game I stayed up until 9:30.   Well if you call it that.   I lay down on the couch and watched the PBS line up.   Saw the TOH Cape Ann project wrap up and as usual they did a great job.      It was beautiful and I wonder how they are doing now.   I belie...

Seem to be feeling better

This is going to sound really weird but after turning the heat back on and up yesterday I seemed to be feeling better.   The side flutters subsided or were less frequent then earlier in the day.   The breathing seemed a little better. I thought I would get the sleep that had eluded me in the previous days but it wasn’t quite that way it was better but still needs more time. Earlier in the day I received a message from my PCP at Internal med and I tried to access the message and it was not loading at first.   They really need to get a better portal this one sucks the wind out the room.   Anyway they were letting patients know what to expect in the future when it comes to appointments.   I thought for sure I missed it but I don’t have one right now. The zoom DTC meeting went well.   We basically nominated candidates for Registrar (and that would be KRowland) and FrankS for candidacy for the 118 th District State Rep.   I got to see a lot of people I...

I haven't gotten much sleep

The last few days I haven’t gotten much sleep.   I have been having a hard time with the breathing (as though someone is standing on my larynx or on the area below my neck.     If I exert myself it is hard to breath and every so often if I yawn, or burb it feels like my lower part of my lung flutters and it sends a pain up my chest.    Yesterday I looked up something that I found on the “after visit summary” when I saw the Pulmonary doctor on Monday.   I knew there has been an issue with the lung (after the biopsy I had a few years ago). It’s called The Interstitial lung disease and something about lung nodule.     Well I read the life expectancy and that really didn’t help my sleep at all last night.   I do admit I seem to be feeling a little better tonight.   Then I move or yawn or do something that makes it hurt.     I took my normal prednisone and the plaquenil that’s for the lupus and the low dose aspirin I have...

We finally have summer

Well we finally got a beautiful and seasonal weekend.   We did have some rain going into Saturday but the rest of the day was beautiful and allowed me to go on a nice long walk .   It remained in the 70’s until later on in the evening.   Today was much cooler then yesterday but still had sunshine and beautiful clouds that looked like cauliflower heads floating by.   This time I took a late morning walk that was just as long as yesterdays.   My hope is to go again tomorrow before my afternoon gets crazy. I checked in with the immediate family on Saturday and then had a nice two hour conversation with Dave.   We touched on work, classmates, our family and the pending state opening in three days.   Neither of us is in a big rush to run out to the restaurants right now.   Believe me I haven’t been ignoring them.   I have had my share of take-out and delivery during this quarantine.   I don’t do that much shopping anyway. I had a huge he...

My hope was to open the windows today

The sun is shining and even though the temperatures are in the mid-40s.   I would like to open the windows again and not have to turn on the heat.   I turned it off for now.   I turned the heat down to 50 and the thermostat says 65.   I can feel the cold a little but its freaking May. I did read this entry extoling the prospect of no more 30 degree weather where this guy lives.   I swear every time I read other people’s blogs about their weather it seems that we experience the same weather pattern at the same time. I will be taking a walk sometime soon and I am hoping maybe to do it before I head out to run some errands.   Not sure what direction I want to go in this time.   But I would like to get it further than I did yesterday and Sunday. We managed to do our regular routine today.   I have been spending time watching a few programs and I am sure I will later too.    Tiger and I cuddled literally on the couch again. She had bee...

Enjoyable afternoon

After making an early lunch of steak I put together the pork loin and onions and left it cooking until about 4 or so.   I ate some of it when it was done.   I made sure I had the 6 ½ oz.   I even tried a piece to make sure it was done. While that was cooking I got dressed and checked on the kitties and then took off for a walk .   It was just about 12:30 and it took about an hour and 15 minutes.   As you can see I did go a different route but ended up walking part of the same route from yesterday (along the beach).   Noticing homes I never or don’t remember seeing before.   They were lovely.   When I got back I called my aunts.   Rosemary seems to be doing well.   She sounded good for age but I haven’t talked with her in some time.   I told her about life here, the job, and the decision to stay in the house (she remembered I was planning on selling it).   Aunt Betty sounded good.   She is able to get to see her family ...

It was a Beautiful Day

The day started off in the 50’s and sunny and it continued to warmer and ended up in to the mid 60’s.   I won the debate for opening the windows.   This time I only did a few of them downstairs.   I have heard it’s supposed to get colder again and the weekend is supposed to be meh.   I have said it before but I always love rainy nights for the weekend. I checked in with several people from work.   The Three Amigos seem to be frustrated with their Team lead again.   I also checked in with others that I chat with from now and then including Niece Jen’s friend KT.   I told her about my adventures with the blood clot.   The Amigos gave me the impression that KT was at the office.   They did tell me that DG/Shadow has been in the office and I want to know if she has been doing the mail as well as her normal stuff.   I keep thinking she is probably wondering what the hell I was doing all the time I was at the office.    I talked wi...

Another Beautiful Day

It is another beautiful day and it's in the mid 60’s right now both at work and home.  I have no idea how long it will last I thought I heard we may get rain overnight. We have clouds now but like I said no rain until much later.  the rest of the week should be nice. I talked with Liz this morning.  she proclaimed herself as “scattered-brain” as she was trying to do a million things before going up to the hospital.  Nelson was getting assessed for Gaylord today and late this afternoon he was heading for Gaylord. I called Jim at Liz’s urging to let him know about the scholarship presentation in June.  Unfortunately when  I spoke to Phil this morning the dates had not been sent out.  Phil promised to let me know as soon as the HS would get them.  Later on in the day got a text message that Jim doesn’t have email yet.  I ended up calling him and telling him about the awards presentation.  I think once we get the dates he will try and...
