I am getting overwhelmed again

First I realize my saying this opens me to a lot of criticism and judgement. But don’t want to hear it, see it.  Keep it to yourselves.  I am slightly panicking because I misplaced my cc again.  I have a feeling it's home in my pants pocket because I didn’t put it in the wallet yesterday after I used it.  I quickly looked in the car this morning but didnT see it.  I looked at the office-nothing.  I will go home and search for it.   I was hoping to go pick up the rug doctor paraphernalia on the way home but now I have to wait until I find the cc at the condo.  I may have to go tomorrow.  I am hoping the cleaning will not take long. Last week, the new property manager sent a letter out and I haven’t picked it up yet.  It's making me very nervous.  FRank also sent an email to let everyone know there is a change to the work approval application. We have to have a COI, say Fernwood  EStates Condo Association and we have ...

We had some excitement yesterday

We had a storm during the night that caused major damage in some neighborhoods and we had no power from 6:20 to maybe 8 am.  Some of the business on Route 1 seemed to be powered.  So I got my coffee there at Cumberland Farms.  I spoke to one woman who was without power since 1 am this morning. UI sent out service emails updating how long it was going to take.  They had it resolved by 10. I think Optimum was another story. By 1:30 it was taken care of.  So it will be fine tonight. I may rent the Rug Doctor and work on it tomorrow.  I can get it at Lowes but I am not sure what the traffic is going to be like when I head home because of the storm.  I am hoping it won’t take me a long time to get it.  I see that it costs like $21 for the detergent for the Rug Doctor.  You notice no one ever mentions that along with the rental fee?  Oh, it's 48-49 for two days. In the end it's going to cost $75 for me to do.  I think I would save ...

Some of the Girls

Some of the girls and I will be getting together on Saturday for my birthday.  Spending time at the beach and then dinner.  I am not really in the mood to sit at the beach for two hours.  I don’t want to hurt anyone's feelings but I have so much to do at the condo before the reunion.   We are going to Lorenzo's in West Haven that night.  I have not eaten there but I have driven past it several times.  As you can see it's Italian and I picked out ravioli for that night.  I realize it may change by the time I get there. I hope Paula will be at the meetup tonight.  It's been a few weeks since we saw her.  I am not so sure Cyn will be there either.  Laura and Steph won't make it.  Don't know about Jackie.  Not sure about Faith.      I heard from Laura this morning and her arm is feeling much better.  It will take a few more days I guess.  I will find out more on Saturday. I am getting...

I got a call last week

Dr. Sonia’s office called to check on my UTI recovery. I informed them about my urology visit, and they confirmed I should complete a follow-up culture ten days after finishing my antibiotics. I admit I have been inconsistent with my medication, often taking my nighttime doses but skipping the morning ones. I need to remain vigilant.  . The appointment this week is with Debra.  It's been a while.   I can tell her about my own Health adventures which are minute compared to Laura.  She still has no answers yet from the doctor. Next week I have my infusion and my dentist appointments.  The one on Wednesday has to do with my implant and the one Thursday is a cleaning.   Thats it for this month for appointments unless an emergency arises.

This Weekend 08-09-2026

On Saturday I traveled to old saybrook to spend the afternoon with my friend  Laura after she spent time in the hospital this past week.  I got there around 1230.  We hung out for a couple of hours as she was waiting to hear  from Dr's as her arm was hurting.  Eventually she d got an appointment  at L&m for ultrasound in New London .   It took  an hour or so.  We headed back to old saybrook.  I freshened up.  Laura was expecting another friend to come over and I needed to go to Kohls to pick up a couple sets of towls s he ordered for me. I was home by 7 and checked in with everyone.   Fed  sky and relaxed for a couple of hours.    Today was kind of quiet.  I did laundry and washed dishes. Around 1 I took  some pictures to look at for the reunion but they  were too big.  I Brought them home. Laura went back to the ER.   She has to call the cardiologist tomorrow.   I am...

ts going to be a nice easy day

Yesterday ended well despite a chaotic committee meeting. We requested help for "Move in Day" on August 23rd, and initially, one person refused. After notifying Barb, the union steward , the person reconsidered with conditions, which we discussed further on the way home. Barb will speak to AC when she comes to the office next week. I finished my work early in the day which allowed me to do a few other things like updating job duties and writing here and correspondence that is important to send.  But it would be nice if I stopped telling on myself again. Bob finally gave me the help. He added a few more things to the request for the chair so now I need to submit it. I really don't want to

Its been an interesting week

t’s been an eventful week. After the CFO resigned last Friday, I shared the news with the committee after hearing it from Ann and Leslie. I’ve since felt some distrust within the office and regret discussing my concerns with a finance staff member, worrying about potential fallout. Anxious about the state chair request, I asked Bob for help; he’s reviewing the details and will guide me. We have a committee meeting today where we expect more updates, including potential contract news. Finally, the discovery of a mouse in the office provided some laughs, though many seemed skeeved out by it.

Mother nature granted my wish

I was thrilled to finally see a coyote and deer over the weekend, a welcome change from the usual small wildlife. However, I am increasingly frustrated with Donj, my neighbor. Despite paying for a window repair not yet completed, the gutters he supposedly said were cleaned still overflow like a waterfall, washing away the mulch. His intrusive personal questions have only added to my irritation. Regarding neighborly etiquette, I am concerned about kids riding bikes directly onto private driveways and front door areas. I would like to address this at the next board meeting, as I find it intrusive. Additionally, I find it quite "ballsy" that a neighbor parked in Liz’s driveway without asking for permission first.  That was during Sis’s stay at the nursing home. I've been reviewing my bills and emails. I have a large electric bill due soon and an overdue car emissions test. While my hot water tank, dishwasher, and laundry appliances are currently working fine, I need to sta...

Dr. Appointments 8-1

Once again this week  I have had some gastric issues.  Most recently today.   I am going to go through notes from Dr Sonia and find her suggestions gastro dr to replace the one who left.  I hope to get into Yale AND USE EPIc.  Hartford  health care has a different site.  We will see what happens. I finally  contacted the urologist  who was on vacation until Friday.   I explained what was going on and now I have an appointment at 3:15 Tuesday.  They haven't  canceled the one in October but maybe the will  next week  I tried to change my cardiologist  appointment on September 2.  It's late in the day. I was hoping to move it earlier that day but  l was unable to get it changed. I didn't get to meet with Debra. I believed she wouldn't  be available and I went to the meet up.  Subsequently she called and  she was available.  So we agreed to  meet in ten days to two weeks....

This Week's Meetup

Early Tuesday morning Gillion asked us where we wanted to meet this week and probably and now definitely meet today since Wednesday was looking like it wasn’t happening.  I could help but think we might be changing the mid week thing to a day more feasible.   We met that night at the panera (4 of us) place and we discussed moving it to a different day,  ultimately Wednesday remains the same but the location will be the Panera.  Gillion said she will fix it when she has time.   PJ chimed in and she loves Panera but she suggested moving the time to 6.  She said whe she started it was at 6.  I vaguely remember it being that but we moved it earlier because it would end up being late when we get out.  I personally like it when it's earlier because depending on the week I get home earlier. I have already looked at the calendar and the 19th I have an appointment so I won’t be going then. I do remember that I mentioned that summer is hard...

Is it going to be busy 7/27

Every Monday I expect my day to be busy. Most of the time it takes all morning to prune the three days of health logic and print them out. Sometimes at least one is high volume and the others  are normal.  Sometimes, like today, the website gives me a hard time with my password and ends up having to reset.  Which was annoying to me.   I also need to do the claim forms too.  Those were not so bad today.   I probably won't get to scanning until late afternoon.   Before leaving I was able to get a batch of refunds scanned.   I will do the rest tomorrow  I am. Also expecting  ga/gargoyle to show me what she does  with the mail that  goes to the hospital.  She is going  on vacation soon. It went well Wednesday the union is having a flash rally at the school of management during former president Salavoy's speech. I was talking to Gina Friday  about  Thursday's committee meeting.   She told me that...

Father A's farewell party

Good morning, it's really  early.  I was awake early again. I stayed in bed until 530. I fed sky and now watching TV and having coffee.  I have a few things to do before the party this afternoon but I am feeling a bit anxious about leaving things to the last minute. I am not sure if I should wear jeans and a blouse or a dress.  Well I heard from Liz this morning.  I had not heard from her after a text I sent her about picking up her mail and noticing , which had been there.  I even centered a text , good night , but she didn't answer. So I got a little paranoid, and was afraid I p***** her off. Anyway , it sounds like she's got a full day. She's getting visits from Adam, my nephew and his family. It's after 4 and I have been home since after 2.  I am glad I ate something before the party.   It was all desserts and punch.  It was lovely. I got a chance to catch up with a few people.  I have been snacking and watching TV. Texted Liz...

Saturday July 25, 2026

Hi It is 630 in the morning and I am on my second  cup of coffee. I have been awake since 4.  Sky started crying for his breakfast an hour later. I worked on my laundry and dishes slowly.  It will  be done by noon.    My plans for today are to go grocery shopping and to go to the farmers market.   But I really don't want to touch my checking right now.  I transferred the property tax amount  to that account.  I don't feel comfortable  writing that either. Probably pop in on Liz and see how she is.  She seemed tired when I talked with her on the phone yesterday.  She had a doctor's appointment in orange so the traveling part was taking a lot of energy. Around nine I had finished breakfast and sent texts. At the moment watching Lord of the rings. Well it's 9: 30 at night and I am watching TV.  The rest of the day was not productive by any stretch.   Did a few chores.  Went to the store then ca...

Sis is back home

Greetings, one and all I just wanted to check in.    It’s been several weeks since I last wrote. Since my last check in.’ My Sister came home on Tuesday this week and is already back in Normality or what passes for that.   I met one of her aids on Wednesday and she is lovely.   Liz seems pleased with this.   As of right now the aids are 24-7.   I will meet the weekend girl soon. While she was at the nursing home, she had the first of two-cataract surgery.   I really don’t know how she is feeling She told me I seem to remember her being overwhelmed. Next month her son Chris and his family are moving down to Florida.   They will be staying with friends.   It’s good because school starts early down there.   I still don’t know where they are going. The rest of the family seems to be doing well.   Nephew Nelson 2 is in a fundraiser, and I contributed to Kellsey’s Hope.   It’s a foundation that provides hope for famili...

July 2, 2026

Today is the last day of work for most departments at Yale and Probably Major Universities are closed except the summer sessions since they are on Compressed schedule.   It is also an Important holiday as America is turning 250.   There are all kinds of activities .   Milford had a Parade in late June but having fireworks Saturday, there is a farmers Market on Saturday.   Unfortunately, I will not be able to go to them as my friend Faith and her husband Jerry are having their annual 4 th of July Picnic in Clinton with Fireworks.   I will be making my pasta salad either tomorrow or Saturday morning.   I think there are 15 or twenty people attending. I tried to see how much I should make but their recipes are not helping, or I am just not getting the gist of it. Well, there is other food going to be there I am still struggling to keep the house clean.   I forced myself to vacuum one room and need to finish the others.   Every couple of...

Quite a week

Image
June 8th, 2026 , 10:13 am Quite a Week. it's been quite a week.  Last Monday June 1 is becoming a blur.  The highlight was Yale had spirit week starting.  They had special things Planned but I didn't go because my leg was not cooperating.' Tuesday was the last board Meeting for the ladies Guild and the last one for Marth V as president.  I learned that our Pastor FR Aiden was reassigned to another parish toward New London.  We are planning a gathering sometime next week.  Our installation dinner is in two days.  We also discussed budget and what we will be giving out in our scholarship and grants Wednesday was our weekly meetup, and we went to Elis on the hill.  There were six of cus and the restaurant messed up on our order and almost gave us full price instead of Happy Hour prices.  There was a real bad accident in front of the restaurant.   Motorcycle vs vehicle and the motorcyclist was a friend of our waitress. Not sure ...

Really last day of the Month

Good morning. Today is the last day of May, and I hope it will be much warmer than yesterday. I was so cold that I turned on the heat to warm up. So Yesterday I went to the lit drop activity and handed out the leaflets.   Then General response was positive.   There were some conversations that annoyed me.   But it was a huge consensus that the Presidents email should be included on the future literature. We finished early, and I headed home. I stopped at DiBella’s for dinner, then came home to eat and feed Sky. At one point, I went to see Don next door and nearly startled him, which was embarrassing. He had been cleaning out his property as some of the students moved out and was preparing for the next group. I also told him about the young man who came to the door a couple of weeks ago. He said that he hadn’t heard about and I also told him I spoke to Frank about it as well. I spent the rest of the night watching TV until I fell asleep. Since I was cold, I ...

Its the end of another Month

As you know, it's been a crazy month.  At the beginning of the month I was sick with gastroenteritis and it took awhile for me to recover.  I also fell a couple of times once at work but I will explain about that in a bit.  The other time was in the bathroom and slid in a puddle of water.  I am fine except I get a muscle spasm when I walk far.  I don’t want to go to the doctor but I will if it gets worse.  Other than that I am much better and I got my appetite back. On May 13, I received a call from Nephew Chris letting me know that my sister was in the hospital after a fall in her home.  She had been in four different hospital for the next few days St Raphs being the last one.  Anyway they originally thought she broke her back but after an MRI finding nothing .  They did discover she recrushed two disks in her back.  She has been in t he nursing home for maybe two weeks now.  She has gotten some visitors.  She maybe has...

Its been a while -again

It's been a while since I last wrote.    I have been busy or too tired to write.   Work had been difficult, but things have now returned to normal.    I am pretty much caught up for now.   Until Monday.   Lots going on in the union and contracts are well you can read them.   We have numerous upcoming rallies and activities planned, and I intend to participate in as many of them as possible. This month, I had infusions and follow-up appointments.    I have appointments with Rheumatology, Urology, Nephrologist, and I have more next month.   I currently have a UTI and am taking antibiotics; I'm unsure if I'll be ready for my next infusion.   I'll call them on Tuesday. I am still doing my meetup group but had to miss a few midweek activities.   We had a movie night last week and saw Cruella with Emma Stone and Emma Thompson.   It was a birthday party for Gill and Laurence’s fur baby Murphy and a celebration fo...

Easter 2026

Good morning and Happy Easter to all who celebrate!   It's cloudy now, with rain expected later. I'm feeling lazy right now.   I did make sure to send e-cards to Jim and Janis and to Liz’s I stayed in last night because I was lazy.      I relaxed on the couch and cooked dinner.   I will probably wear the green dress I wore at Faith and Jerry’s Wedding’s hope no one notices the hole.   There is another dress I can wear that is a little more spring like. Clouds are forming, and rain is expected at 1 am.   It appears that the weather will be warm but accompanied by rain throughout the day. Jim sent me a text message saying he dreamed about me.    He couldn't recall what it was about but said he'd try to remember.    This should be fun. ldr I started getting ready around 11 this morning. At the same time checking Facebook and my email to see if everyone got their messages.   I got several responses on FB. ...

Easter Saturday

Good morning! Hope you're enjoying your Easter weekend.    I am trying to get things done but moving slowly.   I went shopping yesterday but forgot a few things.   I hope to get them this afternoon. I tried to write a few times this week but got tired.   I know I often do that.    I'm not seeing a doctor about it.    I figure it’s my age and my lupus. I had my appointment on Tuesday with Dr. Gordon-Dole.   She could tell I have not been taking my meds regularly and so I promised I would.   She also reminded me that the CPAP machine is important.   I have been on it a couple of times. Wednesday was meetup day and I was looking forward to it.   We didn’t go to our regular spot but Cristi’s in Madison.   There were only four of us.   We talked about everything.   I had pancake. I couldn't attend the lunchtime rally on Wednesday.    I thought I would have a lot to do.   Since I wou...

A Short week

Good morning.    This week is a short week for me workwise.   ON Thursday is my infusion and it starts at 11 and I can’t see going to work for three hours.   If it started at 12 then maybe I could.   I finish at 2 pm.   By then I will be tired and I will go home and sleep.   Friday is good Friday and the University has it under recess days. Today is a regular workday but Tuesday will be a long day as I am leaving early for my Rheumatology appointment, and I have my hair appointment at 5.   Wednesday will be a normal day. Before ending the evening last night, I drifted off to sleep several times.      I became frustrated because the clothes in the washing machine had to go through multiple full and rinse cycles since the Oxiclean didn't dissolve. This means 2 things One I need to get it repaired again or take the laundry to the laundromat again.   I have reviewed the prices and am concerned that they may be beyond my ...
