The Weekend has officially started.  I saw Mom last night around dinner time.  I brought some clean clothes for her and she was having dinner.  I stayed with her about an hour.  We talked about a lot of different things including her visit with my Cousin Bill.  I even got some more magazines from the recreation room for her. I stayed for about an hour or so. After I left Mom I headed to Burger King for dinner (huge mistake) and then went home.  I really didn’t do very much for the rest of the night except make some phone calls and send some emails.  I did get a text message from Liz with Pictures.  I told her about the family meeting slated for next week.  I ended up going to bed by midnight.   I woke up around 5 this morning to the NPR radio shows.  I decided to bring in my stereo from my room to Mom’s to play.  I probably could have put her stereo on the floor and plugged behind the bed like I did mine but my brain turne...

Monday I worked, saw Mom and went shoe shopping with Liz.  I did pretty well.  I got three pairs of shoes all velcro type shoes and had the same woman wait on us from the last time.  Liz was impressed with her.   They are going to be comfortable.   Tuesday was a night of rest after my visit with Mom and a trip to IHOP for dinner.  I was really exhausted.  My sleep continues to be very erratic.  I have also been achy by the time I get home and sometimes can’t lift things. Today I met with Debra and told her of the past week’s events including the one where one of the staff members told Mom I was yelling and causing scenes over Mom not getting tea. She agreed that 1) it was very unprofessional of that person to even speak to Mom on the matter and 2) if that person had a problem with me to come to me. Tonight is the final MYWC meeting of the year.  We are having a farewell party for the seniors and the installation of the officers. ...

Well another holiday has come and gone and it was a pretty good one at that.  Well honestly it didn’t start off that way.  Friday night after leaving Mom for the evening I headed to GG’s Restaurant for a large pizza.  I went home not realizing I didn’t have my ID holder that had everything in it.  When I went looking for it the next morning I couldn’t find it.  I tore the house apart.  I decided to give up and get over to Mom before it was got too late.  Happily after my visit I went to the restaurant to look around.  The owner and or manager was in the back getting a suntan and so I asked him if he found it and it turns out that one of his waitresses handed it in. Just as I was arriving home Saturday afternoon LIz called me and invited me to the Norwalk Maritime Center with her and her kids.  It was a lot of fun.  We even got to feed Lorikeets and I even got “blessed” by one.  Poor Audrey got it literally in her eye.  She...

We use Calendars to keep our lives and appointments straight.  I have been using the online calendars that are available as well as my outlook calendar and my work calendar.  For the longest time I wouldn't put my personal appointments (after work hours) on the work calendar now I am beginning to re-think that idea.  My question is What calendars do you use and do you find it useful?  Do you put your personal appointments on your work calendar? I had my colonoscopy consult yesterday  It took just  about 45 minutes of vitals, and reviewing history and what I can expect to happen and why.  Then we scheduled it for mid July.  I talked with Liz and she will be bringing me that day. I have edited this entry at least three different ways and I really need to go to bed. Even though its only Wednesday I have been busy. I have been working, going to meetings, and doctors appointments and making a couple of visits to Mom.  I didn’t go today because Mom didn’t want me to come after the meeting getting out so late.   My sleep has been erratic.  Really good from Sunday into Monday and the rest of the time not so much.  I am hoping it will be better tonight. I have my first Colonoscopy Consult tomorrow with the GAstroenterology office in town.  Then we will schedule the actual procedure.  It was highly recommended I take that entire day off when I do schedule it..   Then I am going to work and then to my dentist appointment for a check up on the tongue and whatever else he needs to do.   I am going to see Mom after that and then hopefully do the rest of my laundry.

I am hoping that I will sleep better than I did last night.  I went to bed early and ended up waking up during the night.  My arms were hurting and that may have been the many things that woke me.   This morning was busy as I went to see Mom and then to bingo.   The afternoon brought some down time for me as well as a little community service activities between the DTC and Woman’s club.  I did some laundry and then did my final visit at the hospital. Mom will be moved some time tomorrow to the WRHCC for rehab.  It is the nursing home I volunteer at and was the final home of my grandmother (Mom’s mother).  I don’t know how long she will be there but I am thinking it will be for at least two weeks.  I will go there after work with some more things she asked for (and made me take home this afternoon). At one point I woke up at quarter of 6.  I hit the imaginary snooze button and the next thing I knew it was 7 am.  Let’s just say I broke the speed record for bath and dressing and getting out the door by 7:30.  Of course it was just after 8 am when I arrived at the office and I ran into Susan. The rest of the day went smoothly.  I got the mail done in good time and I started sorting and batching some EOBs for Susan.  I didn’t get to finish them by the time I left but I will when I get into the office tomorrow. I had a good session with Debra today.  We talked about the ups and downs and that i seem to be on the upside of life for for now.  We touched on the activities for the week and a little on the coming weeks when she will be on vacation for the first few weeks in July..  We will discuss it more as the time draws closer. Thursday Mom fell and broke her hip.  She has been in the hospital since then and had surgery yesterday and is beginning the healing process as I write this.  She will be going to the nursing home I volunteer at for the rehab session.  I saw her yesterday afternoon and she seemed okay but in some pain.  I will be seeing her as soon as I post this entry.  A couple of people have said they are sending flowers and cards to her.  I am not telling her that because I want to be surprised. It looks like my nephew JOhn is going to beat his sister to the altar as he and Heather will be getting married on July 20, 2014 in Tacoma WA.  I haven’t decided if I am going yet or not.  There are several factors  involved here Mom, finances, time and of course energy. That’s it I am going to bed.  I am so exhausted that I can’t see straight and my knee has been bothering me for quite some time now.  I have taken the tylenol so it should kick in anytime now.  I ended up waking up during the night several times and also not getting back to sleep until maybe a couple of hours before the alarm was set to go off.  This time the alarm was set for 6.  I got up and got ready for work and left just about the same time as yesterday but I managed to get the office right at 8.   I had received a package for a Doctor that had to be redirected and that took some time but after some phone calls and putting a sign on it-it will leave tomorrow morning for the right destination.  Lockbox was heavy as usual.  So much so I was unable to finish it and will do it in the morning.  There seemed to be a lot of mail from the mailbox in the lobby too.  I even mentioned it to Susan. Today was an absolutely gorgeous day from early morning right through the day.  It was in the low to mid 70’s today here in Milford and it was the same in New Haven.  I even got to walk outside even though it was just to Walgreen’s.  The weathermen at Channel 8 is recommending the AC’s go into the window and get turned on.  I have a fan I may put it because I was a little warm last night and I have a feeling its going to be the same tonight. I really got up early this morning before 5 actually.  I told Mom I didn’t go back to bed but instead got online, watched TV, surfed the net and the got ready for work and was out the door a little before 7:15.   I managed to even get breakfast at Dunkin Doughnuts and got to New Haven in plenty of time to get to the office and get set up and have my breakfast. i was able to get a lot done today and of course have more to do when more comes my way tomorrow.  The office continues to make me feel very organi...
