Another Month has ended

Well it has another twelve hours before it ends but for all intents and purposes it’s over.  A lot of stuff went on this past month, mostly focusing on the house clearing, getting ready to put on the market, and having it sold and now waiting for the final approval and continuing the condo search. Cheryl sent me a few in the last few days, along with one that was suggested by my cousin.  Two were mobile homes as I mentioned.  The first one had three bedrooms, and was for $96,000.  I believe it was move in ready.  It was also not far from the highway.  The second one needed work.  That one is out.  The 4 condos she sent me 2 were repeats.  The one on Point Beach drive (and the shared laundry area) and the other ones were Foxwoods, and Melba Street and they both only allow 1 pet. We are looking at the one on forest road tomorrow at 5 pm.  They allow pets but not sure of the limit.  I did take the opportunity to ask Cheryl about ...

Still in Shock

I am still in shock from yesterday’s events.   I have told Debra, Mama Roberta, and of course here and Facebook.   Well at least the journaling group.   I told Big Brother just this morning I actually just told my Manager. Even though I have been excited to tell people a part of me is wondering if I should stop and not say anything right now. I did mention here in the blog.   However I have to remember that the bank still has to either accept it or reject it based on the inspection. Work is busy.   There is mail that needs to be readdressed and no longer goes to where we have been sending.   I will have to send it directly to the hospital.   So I know what it is I am doing later this afternoon. There was no committee meeting today but we got an email update that we will be receiving more updates from the E-board later in the week.   I guess the meetings there were about how the contract will cover those working from home. I w...

Monday Musings

You are not going to believe this.   I don’t believe it myself.   The house went on the market on Saturday morning.   That same afternoon we had three showings.   We were supposed to have only 2 but one was added and so Liz and I were here from 12:15 until 2 pm.   Now I understand why home owners are not supposed to be in the house with potential buyers.   It’s stressful.   One f the potential buyers was Young Shea and her husband with their Realtor.   After the last showing Dave arrived (I had invited him to come see the house) and Liz’s Friend Andrea came and we did the Smudging and the burial of St Joseph’s and we did the prayer. Sunday was the first Open house and there were 17 reservations to see the house.   It started at 10.   Cheryl came at 9:30.   The titans were safely put in their crates and in the bedroom.   The Open house started at 10 and I left t meet Liz for shoe shopping.   Cheryl texted Liz an...

Hoping I didn't make a promise I can't keep

Last night Neighbors Kim and Shea stopped by to ask about the downstairs bathroom and whether or not there was paperwork for it at the city.   I wasn’t sure (but I doubt it considering who was building it at the time).   We got around to the subject of them really wanting the house and they are prepared to make an offer.   I personally would like to see them get it and I told them I would talk to Cheryl and see what I could do but I am afraid I shouldn’t have done that.    I texted both Liz and Cheryl to let them know what had transpired but I didn’t tell them what I would like.   Cheryl said she would be here Saturday with more Mums and decorations.   Kim feels that if they are ready to make an offer that the sign shouldn’t have to go up.   That’s why I am beating myself up.   I should let Cheryl handle it and let her advise me. I went to the DTC meeting last night.    I was 30 minutes late. It was a zoom meeting.   T...

Thankful Thursday 9/24/20

  1.        I am thankful for family warts and all .   Many have stepped up to continue to help with the moving process.   My Nephew did an awesome job getting the rugs up.   Cheryl is continuing to search for condos.   Liz and I finished the House cleaning this past weekend.   Jim continues negotiations with HWWNBN’d.   2.        I am thankful for the kitties .      They seem to be adapting to the changes.   They have been sleeping with me at night.   They spent time in the attic in the last couple of days.   Sky got into the treats again.   3.    I am thankful for my job .   It’s been busy.   There is some issue with the HS near us about parking.   4 .    I am thankful for the medical profession that keeps me on the road to good/better health .   I had my infusion this week it went by quickly. 5.  ...

Midweek Reflection

It turned out to be a quiet day after my infusion.   I was surprised that my infusion went quickly. I was asleep for most of it.   I posted the entry from yesterday and then I fell asleep. I was out by quarter of ten and when I got to the car I called Liz and told her I would be home earlier than planned but I learned later that things had changed.   We were going to bury a ST. Joseph statue in the yard that’s supposed to bring good luck with the house selling.   Unfortunately, Andrea was busy this morning so I guess we will do it later.   Liz will let me know. I am happy to report that now I have two parties interested in the house and the sign hasn’t gone up yet. Liz has a friend who is a flipper and wants to look around.   By 4:30 that had happened and by 5 Chris the flipper came and took a tour of the place.   Both Liz and I told him stuff about the house (and few times I wished Liz had kept quiet).   Chris gave us a price but he knew...

Its Done 9/22/20

The house is ready to be put on the market.   All the hard work for the last several weekends and even during the week has been completed.   Liz’s cleaning crew came in yesterday and did a great job. (The floor in the foyer part could have done with some more work but the rest of it is perfect.)   Unfortunately I wasn’t home more than an hour and spilled tea on the wood floor.      Before going to bed I did some sweeping. As of this writing Lawyer man has not signed the papers.   Cheryl sent him a text yesterday reminding him it needs to be done before she can move ahead with putting the house up on the market and all that goes with it (posting it on the net etc.).   I may have said this couple of days ago but Liz seems to think he is playing games.   He is rushing me out of the house but takes his time to sign the papers?   Jim is supposed to continue discussions on things they didn’t go over on Saturday. Jim did promise to s...

I hope I am not getting sick

I have had a sore throat since Wednesday afternoon.   I had a cough that started just before my Dermatology app0intment on Wednesday.   I told a few people that this has happened but I blame allergies.   I have taken stuff for it but not sure it’s helping.   I really think it’s from the dust and cleaning and the stress.   I don’t want to go to the Doctors for this. So Saturday was the day the photographer was to come and takes the marketing pictures of the house.   Instead it was Cheryl.   It saves money on closing costs.   She toured the house and she filled out the papers and description and when Jim came in the afternoon gave it to him to give to the lawyer to sign.     I couldn’t sign them.   Liz had hoped to be here by 8 but didn’t get here until sometime after 8:30.   Since Tuesday I have cleaned each upstairs room.   I will have to vacuum my bedroom soon.   I managed to get the winter wear accessories ...

Thankful Thursday 9/17

  1.        I am thankful for family warts and all .   Liz and I have been spending a lot of time getting the house ready for the market.   We haven’t been looking at condos.   We have been   focusing on getting the house done.     Jim will be home this weekend after all for a meeting with the Lawyer.   This should be interesting.   We missed the Phelan cousin chat this past weekend.   I hoep to be attending the next one.   I rsvp’d as tentative. 2.          I am thankful for the kitties.   They have been really traumatized this week being put in the crates so many times and having their “go to spots” taken from them.   Sky   has been getting into the hall linen closed (its empty) and the attic.   They both slept with me last night as it was a cool evening. 3.             I am thankful fo...

Is it unreasonable?

Yesterday didn’t start off to well.   I sent a message to brother J to find out when he was arriving well subsequently he told me it would be about 9 last night and then he asked if I would be working today.   I told him yes and my reaction was wtf?   I also said it would have been nice to have some advanced notice to plan for the day.   I resented him expecting me to be here.   I was stewing about it throughout the day and also sent messages to Liz.   I ended up putting the time in and when he said “Don’t do it on my account” that just floored me.   REALLY? He said all he was going to do is contact “HIM” and let him know what was going on.   I reminded him of the stuff he has here. I got home had some dinner and then read messages from Liz.   She had a feeling he wouldn’t be coming and she was right.   He called around 8 or 9 and told me his activities went into overtime and he wouldn’t have gotten here until much later.  ...

The House has an echo

It’s very weird to hear the echoing in the house.   Several times during the night I heard what I thought were things falling down or the cats knocking over and I would check it out and nothing seemed out of place.   It can be unnerving at times and times not so much. I have been awake since 4 and Sky who had been vocalizing from downstairs finally came up and in my face.   I think he got over the trauma of being captured and put in the crate for those few hours.   Not sure about Tiger yet.   They didn’t mind getting fed.   I had to keep pulling Sky from eating Tigers food again.   It’s funny but Sky has been eating his food and walking with it.   Sometimes he is half way across the floor with the dish.   A few times he tried again and I kept saying no and he listened (victory!).    I don’t think they will be happy when the Photographer comes on Saturday.   I am not looking forward to having to put them in the crates f...

Making progress

Getting lots done.   Saturday the junk company took a truck load of stuff in the house away including one of the reclining sofa’s,   the TV and stand out back, and the rocking chair out back, Cleared out two bedrooms, and a desk in the office.   The old clothes hamper, and the broken shredder, and all the bags and crap on the front porch are gone.   They came back today to take the stuff in the cellar, and the attic, and the entertainment center that is in the dining room.   Liz was there to oversee and to let the kitties out. We spent the rest of the time cleaning out one dresser organizing it for the move. I will be keeping things that I can wear now or keep in there after the move.   I am thinking all my gym clothes should come back in and be put in there. We have the sheets, and blankets I will be taking in the cedar chest along with my Dad’s Flag he was buried with or on.   It was mutually agreed that I give it to nephew Chris (in SC) ...

Be where your feet are (written last week)

This is what my sister tells me all the time when thinking about the future or what I should be doing next.  I think I am a planner but I don’t always follow through.  I didn't want to be where my feet were the other day.  I was getting aggravated with a coworker I have known my entire time here.  It had to do with the new routes and schedule.  He didn’t know he had to pick something up in a different space.  He thought he was bringing back empty bags.  NO.  Supervisor reminded me this is a different routine and I need to be patient.  He may not have said all that but that’s the general idea. Today was  much better. The day got better as the day progressed.  I was really looking forward to seeing the condo yesterday.  It took some time to find it within the complex.  It was a nice space but on the second floor with a long staircase.  We couldn’t find the detached garage and that will be a problem.  We woul...

Midweek Reflection

It is Wednesday again and making my head spin.  I have resigned myself at Liz’s encouragement to not worry about finding condos that Cheryl is on top of it.  I was getting overwhelmed with the two at Melba street (not the one I am looking at tomorrow) condos.  I realized by the end of the day there were two different ones.  I think there is a pet limit as well.   So in one of the last texts to me for the night from Liz was a godsend.  She reminded me to take care of myself and do the daily living stuff (taking meds, sleeping, working, the shredding and exercise)  and if I see something I definitely want to keep or leave behind then tag it.  If not, wait for her to come over and we will do it together. Tomorrow Liz will meet  the Appraiser at the house to check out the stuff.  They may have to go downstairs for him to finish with a very heavy tub of dishes.  I have a feeling they will have to go up the stairs to the attic...
