Saturday Doings

It is early Saturday Morning the sky had a beautiful orange hue to it and that tells me it will be a beautiful day that and the weather reports are saying no rain.

In a short while I will be showering and getting ready for my day.  I have to make a stop to the bank before I head over to the Nursing home for our renewed Carnival activity.  We couldn’t do it last year because of the various weather, quarantines, and health issues I had.  We are meeting around 10 and it should be for an hour.

Then in the middle of the afternoon I will be meeting up with my sister and Brother-in-law for their great grandson’s 3rd Birthday party.  We were invited last week (well I was) but nearly forgot about because of the week I was having.

Tonight should be fairly quiet.  Will be able to work on things before hitting the sack.

Dear Friends

March 16, 2014

Dear Friends,

Its been a few hours now since I have been home and I have just been relaxing.   Today was for all intensive purposes great.  I did literally bump into a car while at D&D there was no damage just a jarring and no explosive situations so we didn’t have to do anything.  I got my coffee and drove to the nursing home.

PJ was in charge today.  She had some running around to do befor ethe activities started and I served coffee and was chatting with the residents.  THe games were great we had 17 people playing.  One woman was a bit obnoxious but didn’t remember even me when I talked with her about so I dropped it.  Another woman was going through my pocketbook thinking it was her’s.   So after the third time I put it in the director’s office.

Since it was too late for me to go to church I had gotten a meal from Chef Phil and spent time chatting with PJ about caring for our parents and we were pretty much comparing notes.  I chatted with visitors and other volunteers until about 1:30.

The girls arrived shortly before 1:30 and gathered in the recreation room until Telka arrived.  I went to meet her and she asked for help from the girls.  I got them and we set up.  The carnival began on time and for the next hour and half we were busy either with an arts and craft activity, music, and nails.  It was a huge success and I had a lot of fun.  I was home by 3:30.

Mom was relaxing and watching a bit of TV.  I had called earlier in the day but she must have been on the phone.  We talked about the carnival and then did our own thing.  I spent the tieme watching TV, folding the clothes from the dryer and almost falling asleep and of course working on this entry.

MOm had dinner for herself around 5 and I ate soup and several delectable cookies and irish soda bread that was given to our us by some dear friends.   Mom and I watched the Travel Channel’s 101 countdown to the chowdowns.  Even before it was over (it was a double episode) she was heading to bed.  I  decided to come back upstairs and do some surfing and then watched more and now I am going to answer some emails (the weekly check in for the lists) before going to bed.

All in all today was a great day and except for my ankle aching a little I have to say I am doing pretty good.

Have a great night...

Dear Friends

Dear Friends:

Good  Sunday to you.  It is just after 8.  Sunday Morning Baroque is playing on the computer.  I have a load of a laundry going and I have already had breakfast and have updated my Penpal  World blog

Today is going to be a long day or I should say a full day.  I will be leaving in a while for bingo and church and then our annual Carnival for the residents at West River Nursing home.  We have to be there at 1:30 and start it at 2 until 3 (I think).  I don’t know if I will be up for anything else after that.

I have to say I am feeling better than I was yesterday afternoon and i did get some sleep last night.  I am hoping it stays this way for the rest of the day.

I am having a concern.  I am beginning to think my eyes and glasses are going back to the way they were before I got the new lenses in them.  Some things seem a little blurry then they were and I am wondering if those pre-moistened biodegradable wipes are doing the damage.  Admittedly if I took my glasses off everything would be very blurry but is just a little nerve wracking.  i Have been really careful with these new lenses since getting them.

Well its time for me to take off.  Enjoy

Last Day of Vacation

Considering that today is my last day of vacation.   I am going to make sure things that were not done (housework mostly) are done...
