Sunshine!

The sun is out!  Yet it's still cold in the house.  I have kept the thermostat at 60 and because of the rain it's been 60 degrees in house.  I am waiting for the house to get warmer on its own.  I hope it gets warmer today.  According to the weatherman its supposed to be beautiful this weekend.  The sunshine brought out the house flippers next door.  They are working outside right now or they were.  They did work inside last night for about an hour or so.

I see the Pulmonary Doc today.  I admit I am a little nervous about what to expect.  I don’t know if there will be a test or not at the same time.  I hope they will see if I have COPD a lot more than I used to.  I know Dr. Sonia says the breathing could be because I am out of shape still.

Caitlyn Jenner has arrived!  Yep.  The athlete formerly known as Bruce Jenner has finished their transformation.  She is beautiful.  THe transformation has met with mostly positive reactions and of course really ignorant comments.  There is a whole pictorial in Vanity Fair.  Dave sent me a link to the whole article.  I decided to follow Caitlyn on Twitter.

Tonight is the Woman’s Club meeting.  It is election night for officers and final preparations for the Creative Writing Contest Reception tomorrow night and the Spring Dance on Saturday.  It will be fun.  We have one more meeting before the summer starts.  We do have a pool party next week and I am looking forward to that.  I won’t be swimming I don’t think.  I will be coming from work.

Well I better get going I have to get ready for the appointment.

Early Morning Babble

When I went to bed last night I knew that I would be in trouble. I managed to get some sleep but it was a light sleep. I heard Mom go to bed before Midnight. When I got up for a bathroom run I decided to get on the computer again.

I have already updated my health blog and my password directory. I made a few passes at the various forums I visit daily and prevented myself from exploding at one arrogant little prick for the responses he got in regards to huge assumption/question about SM.

I heard from Jim last night he called me around 6. I didn’t realize it until I looked at the phone a short time ago. Anyway he ahs a cold (again), did I mention he left a message for us on Saturday that the skin cancer on his face is ‘pre-cancerous’?

I was thinking since the 2012 Lenten Season begins tomorrow and the way I have been feeling emotionally that maybe it would be a good idea if I started reading the bible again. I have done it from time to time in the past and it has brought some peace of mind for me.

OMG. I just found Al Terzi the Newscaster/journalist for WFSB is leaving Channel 3 news on Friday. Geoff Fox announced it in his blog yesterday. I remember when Al Terzi was on Channel 8 for years until he had some rather unfortunate problems. He then moved to Channel 3. I guess he has been a part of Connecticut broadcasting for years. You can read about Al here (I hope), if not go to Wikipedia and look up Al Terzi or to WFSB.com and read his bio. You might be better off doing the latter.

Well I better get back to bed…the alarm is set to go off in about four hours. Thanks for spending time with me this morning.

Today Connecticult lost a Weather Icon

Memorials are going out tonight via Facebook, Twitter and every imaginable venue on the internet for the wonderful and most loved Weatherman Dr. Mel Goldstein. He died this morning of Multiple Myeloma. WTNH announced it mid day today that he had passed away at the age of 66. The Governor’s Office released a statement that he was an icon and will be missed. I always remembered him as being very informative in his weather reports. I am not sure when he became a full time member of WTNH but you can read the story in the link above. I don’t think I have ever met him but many others including Dave did. Dr. Mel retired last November.

Today was pretty busy. Lockbox was high in volume (well more than yesterday’s) and I was still working on it when I left work this afternoon. I thought the regular post office mail was heavy but I was wrong. I still haven’t gone downstairs to the lobby mail. The readdress mail is still hanging over my head as well but I can’t keep worrying about that.

At Break Time I took a walk over to the bank to take out money for “things” (read below). I was really sorry I did it but I wanted to participate in festivities. It was so freaking cold and windy I almost lost my hat. It wasn’t a pretty sight when I had to run after it.

We celebrated Gayle’s Birthday with Pizza and cake. We ordered a variety of pizza toppings (plain, meatball, sausage, and broccoli). Most of us took two slices each. “Diva” took three!!!! I was freaking appalled. I don’t know about you all? But it’s customary to take two slices first and then go back for more. There were still people who hadn’t gotten theirs yet.

I was really happy to be leaving at 4. I was growing tired and whiney. I helped CD get the boxes we have been collecting for her big move next month (she is moving to a condo with her family as well as moving on to Registration) to her car.

The drive home was a little precarious. The sun made it difficult to drive and so did other drivers who almost collided with each other. I was relieved I made it home by 4:30.

When I got home I put the garbage and recycle bins out front. I didn’t want to be doing it later on in the evening. I managed to get the other garbage out as well. Unfortunately when I do that there is always more garbage to put out. Its now going to wait.

Mom came home around 5 and was able to have the lasagna she made for our dinner. She also had a phone call to come to the meeting she was heading for early. She got home a little while ago.

I got a call from DM again about possible cancellation because of weather conditions on Saturday. We will have to make a decision sometime Saturday.

Mom almost forgot this evening.

Okay It’s a special night of NCIS so I am going to watch it before I zonk out.

Last Day of Vacation

Considering that today is my last day of vacation.   I am going to make sure things that were not done (housework mostly) are done...
