First Day of Spring

Hey all it is a beautiful Spring Afternoon. It has been spring for an hour and half now and it is very warm. I am in the middle of ironing the clothes I am wearing to Cheryl’s party. Mom is downstairs snacking on crackers.

Today has been pretty good. I got up really early and got ready for the day. On the way to Roberta’s I saw a small flock of Turkey’s on New Haven Avenue. There was one male turkey strutting around trying to impress the others. I am not sure that happened. I fed Junior who was waiting for me at the back door. She ran to the other room to roll around on the floor so I could rub her belly. I fed her and then pet her again and took off.

The drive to New Haven was okay. It actually was rather heavy for 7:30 in the morning. Maybe it was those who have been waiting for a day such as this to get out and enjoy. What ever it was they really could have waited until I got to work.

I got to work just before 8 and realized I left my ID at home. Luckily Lavon a coworker was walking in with me and let me in. I went directly to LG’s desk and started to scan. I was by myself for about three hours. I had finished the batch I started on the 18th and walked to the back where the rest of them were and found AP scanning as well. We are doing pretty well. The piles are not as big as they once were. Annette came around 11 and got to work doing her scanning.

LG came in to approve her time card and so while she did that I did mine. LG and I chatted for a chat time after that and then she left and I got back to scanning. The next three hours went by quick. Soon it was time to go home. As I left I ran into Colleen and CC from Registration. I chatted with both of them and then headed to the car for home.

I went to the card shop and got cards unfortunately my cc wouldn’t accept so I had to come home and get a check. I was embarrassed as usual. It was a clear reminder that I need to get that bill paid. I went back and picked them up and paid by check.

When I got home I started ironing and Mom started prepping for baking for later. I called Liz and Nelson to tell them the traffic was slow. Hopefully it will be better when we go through. Liz called back a short time later to ask if we would drive them. Rich will be taking the kids and Chris is not feeling well.

We left before 4 and got to their house a short time. We packed the car with the food. A few minutes later Nelson’s Brother Tom came and brought even more food. Unfortunately he would not be joining us. He wasn’t feeling well but wanted us to bring the food. After visiting with him and packing the car we were on our way.

The drive was fine until we got to the Branford area. There was a serious accident that shut down the highway. All of us had to go through the rest stop to get around it. We found later that a pedestrian was killed trying to cross the highway. As we got through the accident site Rich called Liz. He was just leaving Liz and Nelson’s with the kids.

We got to the house by 5. The house is beautiful and so was the yard. The rooms were big and comfortable. The next several hours we ate, and talked and I got a chance to play with the kids. When Jason and Audrey arrived with Rich I got hugs from all of them. They reached up to me (at least the younger ones) and let me hug them. We left after Cheryl opened her presents and headed back to Milford. The traffic was better then it was before.

Mom and I got back here a little after 9 and I headed to Roberta’s to feed the cat. She was pleased to see me. She met me at the door just like she did this morning. When I left there I came home again. Mom was watching Channel 13 (PBS) and I went to the blue room and watched NCIS marathon. It was from Season two “SWAK”.

Now that it is getting close to 11 I am going to get ready for bed. I have another full day ahead of me. There is bingo, church and perhaps the St Patrick’s Day Parade. Later on in the afternoon is the Board meeting for the Woman’s Club.

Saturday

Hey all it is after 11 in the morning. It is a beautiful day here and it was 57 I imagine it is closer to 60 and by the end of the day it will closer to 70 degrees. I have opened the window to the bedroom to let in some fresh air.

I got my hair done but I am a little annoyed with the woman. First off she was running late and she forgot she had me at 10 am. I had to go back at 10:30. The next appointment is on May 31 but I am going to change it because of the wedding, and the awards ceremony.

When I got home Mom was still working in her office. She has been updating the address list for the invitee list for the ceremony. She said she had paper work to do.

I did some laundry and wrote more of my letter to Kelly and I read the two letters I got from Vicki Butler in Illinois and Shirley Burdett. I will be updating their files shortly.

Donny next door is putting up an antenna for Mom so that we don’t get so much static on the radio downstairs. Mom went out to get additional attachments. I don’t know if she really needs it. Mom keeps saying she doesn’t have the money for other stuff yet people keep insisting “oh you need this!”

Around 2 the temperature was up to 62 degrees. The window was opened for most of the day and it felt wonderful. I washed the comforters. They look better.

Last Day of Vacation

Considering that today is my last day of vacation.   I am going to make sure things that were not done (housework mostly) are done...
