Election Day 2021

Today is the day where we vote in or reelect people running our local municipalities At least here in Connecticut that’s what’s going here; I can’t begin to think of the other states. I tried to look it up but I don’t have the time to research it.   I got up early and headed to my new Poll location and got to meet some of the candidates from the 5th district.  I have seen the ones who are on the DTC at the zoom meetings and such but that’s it.  A few of the other Republicans I knew of from Awards night at the High Schools.  Anyway, going in was easy and voting wasn’t bad either.  I thought there would be an issue with my license because it still had my old address on the front and the new one on the back but there wasn’t.

Members of the DTC party will be meeting at   Bridge House in Devon.  It will also have zoom connections as well.  I wasn’t going to go there but made a commitment to attend so I will go after work.   This will make for a long day.

I actually didn’t do very much this year again for the election.  I volunteered for the sign making at the beginning of October, and the two of the three phone banks and attended the monthly DTC meetings via zoom.  I didn’t attend any Kick off parties, or fundraisers for the candidates, or the lit drops they usually have.  OF course I will be at the restaurant tonight.  I am pretty confident that our current Mayor will win his re-election bid.  I feel he has done very well.

Work has been busy for me.  WE have been doing lots of scanning, and progress with the new tasks of scanning appeals.  It’s not that hard actually.  When we have it I do it in the morning.  I was glad to be done with the back log of Attorney documents for scanning.  In the afternoon I have been focusing on the refund backlog (scanning).

I have also been helping out Mary the Admin assistant with odds and ends.  I have to make a few more mail tray tags for the mail room.  I think this all has to do with moving eventually to the third floor.

The ratified contract was to have been signed between the union and the University this week but I haven’t heard anything yet.  I am sure they will let us know.  They have been sending out emails about the ratification and what it entails.  Actually we didn’t have our committee meeting it was cancelled at the last minute.

We received an email reminding us to wear our masks while in the building as someone apparently reported that masks weren’t being warn.  We pretty much know who wasn’t wearing the mask but who reported us could have been anyone.  I went over in my head remembering if at any time I didn’t’ have my mask on and maybe once.

I was pleased to read that the property manager or board is going to contact the school board or city and ask them to move the bus stop that is at the end of our drive way.  I have been thinking I would say something but I am guessing others have.  When parents drop their kids off or are waiting for the bus to arrive they take up room.  It makes the driveway narrower than it is.  With winter approaching, it will make navigation a little tricky.

As expected we didn’t have trick or treaters in the complex.  I even checked with a few of the neighbors and they said no.

Because the weekend was a crazy one and I was exhausted the house cleaning was half done.  I got as far as the bathroom, and part of the kitchen and some vacuuming.  The rest will be done closer to the weekend.  I hope.

I need to bring in the patio furniture (the table can stay outside) soon.  Unfortunately there has been a large spider (dubbed Charlotte) and its babies making their home with the umbrella and I am willing to live and let live.   I thought the storm on Saturday would take care of it but I don’t think it did.  I am just going to have to put on my big girl persona and deal with it I guess.

Last week and the week before I got the insurance (not bills or statements) but the thing they send out before the bills that tell you what it covered and what not.  Well I am a little anxious (when am I not these days?) about this.  They are both due in December.  I am hoping to build up the savings a little more before then.    I have to worry about the taxes later.

I am doing okay with everything else.  Just wish I would not use the credit card as much as I have been lately.  It’s mostly for food (meals out).  I seem to be doing it a lot lately.  I just have to reign in a little more the next few weeks.

I had a great time last weekend at the pumpkin Spice and everything nice Brunch.  I got to see people I haven’t seen in a while one was a girl from the game meetup. I got to see Erica who has been working hard.  There were many others who were new or have been around for years but haven’t been to all the activities.  I think I read there were 32 of us.  We even got to meet Cyn’s aunt who has moved in with her.

I don’t know if I had told you that a couple of weeks ago this woman who came to the Wednesday meetup at the diner and it turned ugly.  After Cyn had vented that her aunt was lauding our former President’s accomplishments this woman named Sue lit into screaming and yelling at her.  Cyn tried to apologize and just was obnoxious. I am glad I wasn’t there.

When you attend a meetup for the first time you read the room.   You don’t cause arguments or problems or scene or whatever you want to call it.  The witch even had the nerve to follow Cyn outside to further the discussion.  A few days later the woman left the group.

I would fiercely defend this group to anyone who would say “there isn’t a lot done with this group” or would question the methods.  We basically give each other advice or listen to each other’s problems or even accomplishments.  We try not to talk politics if we can.

We are supposed to meet at the diner tomorrow night and I am not sure I can as I have prior commitments.  I don’t know if we have anything else planned for the group.  Well except for the card games on the Sundays.  I am pretty sure there will be more Friday night excursions and a few holiday things.

The Hiking and walking with Friends group out of Manchester have been having activities on the last couple of weekends.  The one thing I have been waiting for.  Places Like West Hartford, Case Mountain, Beldon Wild life Area, and Glastonbury CT (all different areas).  I may have to take a weekend go where they are.

Walking with Buddy has had some fundraising events that don’t necessarily do with the walking and I haven’t made them.  Again it’s on weekends and I usually do housekeeping stuff and or the Finding friend’s activities.

I talked with Mama Roberta last night.  We spoke for an hour.  We talked about everything, including the current atmosphere out there in the world.  I told her about the activities in the meetup and some of her meetups.  She has got plans for the next month to visit her daughter and son in law.

In a couple of weeks my friend Lisa is coming in from Greenwich to visit.  I can’t wait for this. I am still trying to figure out a menu for our afternoon.

The ladies Guild are meeting for the board meeting tomorrow night.  I still haven’t done much with the membership list.  I have to do it with Excel because I don’t have a PDF program.  I have been missing the last several meetings.  We have a fundraiser the annual Auction and dinner the weekend before Thanksgiving.  This meeting will be about other fundraisers, something like Angel things for Christmas time.

I did bingo last weekend and it went well.  Despite the fact they were having a possible outbreak testing.  I wasn’t sure if they were going to have bingo or not.  This annoyed me because even though I am vaccinated I still have family who are immune compromised (cousins, etc.).  I wish they would have called me to let me know.    It’s becoming evident that I need to either call out that weekend or come home early that Saturday after Thanksgiving.  I haven’t met the new Director.  She only works M-F.   I am getting the distinct impression the new boss is annoying Recreation Bob.

As I’m writing this Tiger is under the end table across from me.  She did sit with me on the couch for a little bit.  She has been eating her morning a different brand of canned food with no problem.  That means she is also taking her meds easily.  The turkey menu is in dark gravy instead of white.  It takes her longer to eat the kibble but I think she gets the medicine anyway.

She continues to surprise me daily when she hops up on to the bed some nights and sleep.  She doesn’t always stay but it’s still great.  I have also found that she will cuddle with Sky on the couch, under the coffee table and on the bed.  I just never took pictures.  Something I will be regretting I am sure.

Sky, continues to sleep everywhere, top of the recliner, couch, and of course next to me at night.  He would put his head on the pillow or my shoulder sometimes.  Several times including this evening I have found him under the blankets on the bed.  He also curls up under the bed for a while.  He eats his food and sometimes if I don’t catch him he eats tigers.

I was happy to discover that one of them had an accident once today.  Let’s hope they can keep it up longer.

I saw my sister and BIL yesterday before my session with Debra.  My reason for going over there was to drop off money to her.  AT one point she wanted to let me know that I shouldn’t have shared something with her about my brother (sort of health related but more like age related) so she nagged me about.  I was rather annoyed with her about it and as I was going to my car I mumble and said you are not my mother.  When Liz called me tonight on the way home I thanked her instead.  We talked more about it and then we moved on to a more pleasant topic.

Liz wanted me to know she went to the animal shelter to drop off some old sheets and blankets for the animals and she got to hold some really beautiful kittens.  She said she didn’t bring one home because she wanted to keep her husband more.

I have seen some sitings of my angel brother’s family on FB.  Niece is still up in Haddam performing, her brother John is living life in South Carolina, Rob? Yeah who knows?  SIL I am not sure.

Jim was working the polls yesterday.  I will find out soon how it went.  He has been disappointed with Politics both nationally and locally of late.

Well I need to get to the restaurant.  Have a great night.

Been up early

I woke up around 4 this morning and I finished writing out this week’s ThankfulThursday post.    Then I had an idea to work on the budget.  As I tried to reclaim my information for Mint.com I had to recreate a new password.  I had forgotten what I used for the Turbo tax.  I thought I had an understanding but I will try again later.

I got up and checked on sky and he was just sitting in the closet.  He came running out and let me pick him up and hold him.  Then we went back to my room and he stayed with me for a while.  He curled up a few times then he sat down and watched me get on the computer.  Then he ran off and then came back.

I got up at 5:30 and we did our routine.  I managed to fall back to sleep on the couch even with coffee.  The kitties were attentive and that fills my heart.  For as long as I have been their mama there are days I feel I am not always a good mama.  When they show they want to be loveable I feel like I can be doing anything.

So there has been a concern about brown water in the system in Milford.  I had heard about it last week and as the week moved on the RWA and the city (as recent as yesterday) sent out caution messages and suggestions to deal with.  For example let it run before drinking and or limit the use of it for watering lawn and such.  Apparently there is a lot of people using the water and its causing the sediment to get stirred up.  So far it’s not happened here.

I know I have some things to do but right now I just want to sleep.  I want to get a walk in today.  JOC won’t be able to yet.  I will be going to class tonight but that’s it.

I did go for a walk but MapMyWalk has changed and I know I went for at least a mile. ..and it’s all acting weird.   There is something definitely wrong with the phone and the apps.  It didn’t record the route correctly at all.  The pedometer on the other hand says I did well.  It actually shows up on the phone better.  After my trip to the AT&T store I went on a late one and it was much better.

My trip to AT&T store went better.  The guy I worked with told and showed me what I needed to do about the data.  He also said that sometimes apps get corrupted and that they need to be deleted and reloaded (not on a daily basis).  After doing a software update while there everything seems to be working.  I am very relieved.

I chatted with Liz today and we talked about the phone, and about work, and budgets.  I told her without going into great detail that I am getting a budget together.  Late this afternoon I received the car tax and the real estate tax and I nearly died.  I am going to have to do something about that and I have until august 3 to do it.  I will be looking forward to my session with Debra.

Alex contacted me tonight to find out why I didn’t go to class.  I explained I didn’t sleep well and that I was tired but I did take two walks today.  I told him I would be going to the class tomorrow.  Admittedly it will be very early but I am going to try.   I told him I was going to bed early so I best get there.

I was relieved I actually wrote one of my pen pals today.  It was two pages and will talk more about soon.

I am exhausted again

I got up this morning at 4:30.  Prepared for cleaning lady’s visit and as usual it looks great.  I left here just a little after 7 and got to the office by 7:30.  Started on the health logic and managed to get through a lot.  I was standing for most of the day and everything from my hips down hurt.  I even tried some dancing and exercises while standing there.
AT some point UPS dropped off another box of the health logic.  It was a normal large box for Tuesday.  Maybe they are getting back to the routine.  However I now have three of those boxes to do plus what as in the smaller boxes left.  In English I made a dent but still have more to go.  That’s pretty much what I told Bob when he emailed me late this afternoon.  I actually sent him a picture of what I have.   I told him if UPS doesn’t deliver anymore boxes I should be caught up.  If he isn’t satisfied I am guessing he will ask someone else to come in and help.
There was a slight change to the mail.  Compliance leader wanted to know if there was any mail for their staff and I informed them some letters that came in that credentialing put into their tray plus the Mletters I have been giving them.  Well for now I have to scan them and send them just to CM.  That took about 10 minutes (once I learned how to scan to someone else’s email address).
I made a few forays on to the net during the day.  I hope that I didn’t spend a lot of time on there.  I mean on a daily bases I would surf a few minutes and then get back to work.  I also checked to see if had gotten any mail I didn’t.
I checked in with Alex.  Told him I was at work and dancing and trying to exercise.  He said he would take it.  I haven’t been on any of the Instagram or FB classes.  They are usually when I am working and I don’t think I can stop during the day.  I don’t want to tell him  I have fallen off a few times (the frosting trips, potato chips)  I have been trying hard not go overboard with meals.  I had Outback ribs and chicken couldn’t finish all of it.  I am having pizza tonight.  It’s not exactly on the diet.
I actually ordered from grub hub site it wasn’t bad.  I couldn’t access Dominos the regular way and I am starting to get hungry.  I have little time too.
My hands cramped up so bad today.  I know it had to do with the lack o water and the chips.  I almost felt like John Wayne’s Character on Rio Bravo, every time he had a problem with his shooting hand.

I found out yesterday that the 4th District is having a conference call at 7:30.  Apparently the committee election didn’t work out the way it was supposed to.  I hope I can do this okay because I am nervous about it.  The call starts at 7:30.  I guess I have to dial up or into it at 7:25.   I don’t know how long it will last and I suspect I will have to miss NCIS.
The state is going through some more changes.  As of last night all non-essential workers were told to work from home.  I tried reading the latest (as of last night) but its making my head swim.
The number of confirmed cases in the state is 618 and probably growing and ten deaths from the virus.  I believe there is only six in Milford.
Earlier today there was an article announcing the Hilton Garden Inn over Old Gate Lane (near the truck stop and Lowes) was going to lay off 49 of their employees and close permanently.  The hotel was built in 2009 and probably opened within that year.  As I told someone today I didn’t like the location (in the same complex as Lowes Warehouse).  By the time I left the office the story backtracked and said it wasn’t going to close.  I don’t know if I believe they were doing it because of the pandemic or because they are not doing that well in business.
The cats seem to be taking all of this in stride.  They get up early and want to be fed early and then do their daily routine and when its time to be fed they start their duets.  They have been sleeping either with me or under the bed or elsewhere.  They were running around here a little while ago.  I expect them to do it again before the night is out.  Tiger always seems to lie on the bed at night and then if Sky annoys her she leaves for either the other bed or under my bed.  She has been lying on a pile of blankets by the West windows for the last couple of days.
Well I better get ready for the meeting …ttyl…

My Entre week got turned around

When we last met up I had written that I might have the dreaded Pink eye.  Well Tuesday morning I decided to call in sick and get it checked out.  Turns out I did. I stayed home that Tuesday and the NPA said i could go in the next day.  I spent the rest of the day home watching TV and doing odds and ends and getting bored.

Wednesday I went in to work told a few people and then made the mistake mid morning of asking someone to put the drops in my eyes.  An hour later I was asked to go home.  I was stupid to ask but I really didn’t think anything of it. So I went home and did odds and ends. I did manage to cook the eggplant and cranberries (it didn’t turn into cranberry sauce though)

I cancelled all my activities for the rest of the week.  I will need to get an okay from the Doctor to be able to return to all activities by Monday.  I will ask for that on Monday.  That’s if it hasn’t spread to my other eye which I thought it might have by yesterday.

Thursday I waited for the grocery delivery to come and did some cooking.  I made meatloaf based on the burger recipe from Taste of Home site.  I didn’t have enough of the pork to make the burgers.  However I will next time.

My niece and her husband come and took the stuff from the cellar.  Not the flatware (that had mom’s initials) because I don’t think it's here anymore anyway.  So now there is a little corner of the cellar that really needs cleaning out.  They stayed until 3.  I just hope neither of them get the pink eye.   I tried really hard to not get close I just gave up because it looked like it was better.  We talked about family.  She admitted that she and her brother J are not really speaking.  He doubts her illnesses (which seems to be a consensus among my sibs too).   I told her about my situation with Liz.  she also admitted that she really hasn’t been talking with Liz either. I didn’t want to tell her that Liz feels unappreciated by her and the boys.  I did say that Liz is a tad Judgemental and critical of things.

A part of me feels I shouldn’t be saying anything about the rift between Liz and I because I know it will come back to bite me in the ass.  Although how many times have I had to listen to Liz or Jim talk about their rifts or any other family members.  Diane says it's okay to talk about the rifts.  To be clear we talked about other better things too.

Thursday night was quiet watched TV including Polar express. Even though I have the CD somewhere.  I enjoy watching it on TV.  It seemed to be going really fast (the time of the movie).  It was re airing again at 9.  I did fall asleep on the couch and Sky cuddled up with me.

I got my coffee order yesterday as well.  Now I have enough coffee to last a while and sleepytime tea that I should have taken.

My hope is to get to the library later this morning and print up a couple of letters to a penpal in Australia.  Her letter came earlier this week and I want to get them out quickly.

Then I will do more cooking and then laundry (there isn’t a lot been doing some each day).  I want to get more Christmas cards out as well.

I am trying hard not to get the kitties sick with this pink eye.  I try not to put my face near them but I pet them (and then wash neurotically) and want them nearby.   I do keep checking their eyes to see if they have it and they are clear.  I don’t know if that’s confusing them or not but I don’t want to avoid them.

The weather has been pretty cold this week mostly in the 40s during the day 30’s at night and pretty windy.  It hasn’t rained since Monday but that’s supposed to change by tonight with overnight showers.  It will be cloudy and then thundershowers for sunday.

Milford had some interesting visitors earlier this month.  A fisherman was off the Milford shoreline and came across a couple of Pilot whales.  It made the news and Social Media.  Then a harbor seal showed up at Caswell Cove Marina (on the Housatonic River).  The article reminded readers of the federal law not to go near them or bother them.

Maria’s House has been sold and it happened before thanksgiving and the new neighbors have moved in already.  I haven’t had a chance to meet them but Sylvia told me about it when I was heading out to pick up my prescriptions on Tuesday.

Well I am going to get some sleep since its two in the morning.

Snowy Monday

I had hoped to have  missed the snow they were predicting overnight and into today.  Unfortunately it started flurrying when I hit the city. Great. I didn’t bring my boots today.  There are snow showers predicted for Milford this morning and apparently for the city. Lovely we are getting another Nor’easter come Wednesday.

There is one thing that I forgot to mention.  A strip mall had some damage during the storm friday and I just found out that it was the strip mall by my house.  I didn’t even make the connection until a coworker said something to me this morning.  I hadn’t recognized the names or the background pictures. I thought it was in another part of town.

Work went well.  The healthlogic came early so I jumped on that as soon as I could.  It was pretty quiet for Monday. Could have been the weather or could have been weekend activities.  I had fried proscuitto, baby arugula, melted provolone, baby arugula & tomato with roasted garlic aioli on toasted sourdough for lunch.

I had a lo of insurance mail at home (it was the house  insurance-the old one and the new one) and cute invitation to Giata’s first birthday party.  IT will be in April. I can’t wait ot attend.

I went to the gym and was in the foundation class and I survived barely.  My butt was hurting afterwards. Still need to keep at it though. Unfortunately there was one woman who was really obnoxious.  Someone had come to the class late and I thought there was enough room and it was where obnoxious was standing but moved. OBNox got really bent out of shape.  I said that it was my fault because I thought she had moved. IT was eventually resolved but I hope that woman isn’t in the next class. What did like is the fact I am was getting encouragement from the others.  I did get to see my coworker Yan.

I didn’t stay to do cardio.  I wanted to get home and make dinner (steak and vegetables) and then get to bed.

Now that I am home I am closing down the house and hitting the sack....

The snow is pretty

The snow started sometime after 5 this morning.  It was supposed to make commuting tough but I didn’t find it that way when I left at 7:30. I still got here a little after 8 though. I don’t know how much we got but I know it wasn’t half a foot.   The snow stopped by 1 but the temperatures were to drop by the time I left.

Many stayed out because of the weather but just as many came in or came in late because of the weather.  I understand those who didn’t want to come in.  The original reports said it would be messy and icy.  Not sure what to expect on the way home or for next Tuesday’s “event”.  As I said I will do the wait and see.

We learned our Associate Director lost her MIL and there is a collection going around until the 24th.  I definitely want to contribute to that.  As I said she didn’t come into work but I don’t think it was because of that (although it may have been).

I didn’t receive the daily Health logic work for two days now.  I have no idea what’s going on.  I told Supervisor and he was concerned too but we both know I can find something for the afternoon.

There is also another angel in the sky.  Danni Kemp the 19 Milford girl who has been fighting inoperable brain cancer lost her fight this morning.  Unfortunately, some jerk who didn’t seem to be too sympathetic and decided to go into some tirade.  If you don’t have anything nice to say, then don’t say it.  I mean this happened when Bob died someone posted on the blog he was moderating his dislike for him.  Really?  You thought it would be okay to insult his memory when his family could be reading it?

The St Patrick’s Day parade scheduled for this weekend is now been rescheduled for the 18th.  I am glad because it would be too cold this weekend.  I have no idea how it will be next weekend either.

Tonight is laundry night and some bill paying.  Tomorrow I have some errands to do including getting my hair done tomorrow.  Other than that I have the taxes to do and some letters I have been sliding on.

Don't Know what's going on

For two days now have been having a dry tickle in the throat.  This morning I started coughing for no reason.  I feel fine otherwise but for those two things.  I am thinking and I know this sounds gross but I was choking on my own saliva.  At break time I got my flu shot at the flu clinic at Harkness.  The line was very long but moved quickly.

I found out that Golden Corral Restaurants is moving into Milford where the old Hometown buffet was up until last February.  I can’t believe we are finally getting one.  We have been getting ads for it on TV for years.  I went to one in Raleigh when I was visiting Mama R and Papa M this past summer.

Late last week there was a dead body in a car found burning and today the identity was released to the papers.  The man was a member of the Devon Rotary in town and apparently embezzled money from them.  He went to jail and served a 3-year term for the embezzlement.  This is frightening that this stuff can occur and it has been suggested to me that it was a Mob hit.  That’s why its frightening.

Tonight is the second general meeting of the lady’s guild so I need to get ready for it.  We are having a nutritionist from Shop Rite speak to us on Nutrition.  We have to bring refreshments.  I have no idea what to bring.

Father's Day Weekend

Well another holiday has come and gone and it was a pretty good one at that.  Well honestly it didn’t start off that way.  Friday night after leaving Mom for the evening I headed to GG’s Restaurant for a large pizza.  I went home not realizing I didn’t have my ID holder that had everything in it.  When I went looking for it the next morning I couldn’t find it.  I tore the house apart.  I decided to give up and get over to Mom before it was got too late.  Happily after my visit I went to the restaurant to look around.  The owner and or manager was in the back getting a suntan and so I asked him if he found it and it turns out that one of his waitresses handed it in.

Just as I was arriving home Saturday afternoon LIz called me and invited me to the Norwalk Maritime Center with her and her kids.  It was a lot of fun.  We even got to feed Lorikeets and I even got “blessed” by one.  Poor Audrey got it literally in her eye.  She came to me to get it cleared out.  I felt ten feet tall.  We had dinner at TGI Friday’s and had a great time.  When we got back to the house we made plans to go see Mom.  I would go first while Liz had some things to do and then go.

The visit was great we talked and had fun and then we left.  By the time I got home I was exhausted and got ready for bed.  It actually is becoming the usual blur.  I do remember hearing the fireworks from the harbor.  The harbor is about five to six miles away from the house.

Sunday I went to the nursing home early and MOm had her PT.  I stayed with her until it was time for bingo.  I had to drop stuff off at her room before going.  I did bingo and chatted with Natalie and then I think I said goodbye to Mom.  My original plan was to go to the parade that afternoon.  Instead I slept and did some other things.  I had my final visit with MOm for the day with some requests from Jim.   Liz and Nelson were there I think...yes we were all there.  They talked about the parade and I finished MOm’s lobster roll dinner that Nelson and Liz got.

All in all it was a great one all around.

Calendars

We use Calendars to keep our lives and appointments straight.  I have been using the online calendars that are available as well as my outlook calendar and my work calendar.  For the longest time I wouldn't put my personal appointments (after work hours) on the work calendar now I am beginning to re-think that idea.  My question is What calendars do you use and do you find it useful?  Do you put your personal appointments on your work calendar?

I had my colonoscopy consult yesterday  It took just  about 45 minutes of vitals, and reviewing history and what I can expect to happen and why.  Then we scheduled it for mid July.  I talked with Liz and she will be bringing me that day.

I got to the office just after 10 and got to work I started to work on the lockbox and then the second run came so I was working on both for the rest of the day.  It was completely done by the time I left for the day.  We had a cake for Nadine who starts her new job in Reimbursement on Monday.  it was huge! Of course it was delicious too.

I had my dentist appointment as well and then I went to see Mom.  I brought some things from home she wanted including the mail.  She was less agitated than earlier in the day.  Let’s just say she is very anxious to get home.  At one point she was in pain and they didn't come with the pain medication when she asked.  Now Liz makes her write down when she gets the meds so that she will know when she can have it again.  I will go after work to see her again.  I have the newspaper and the sweaters she wants (I hope).  She will be having the Literary club coffee klatch come on Saturday morning.  She set it up with her friend Maureen.

Tonight I am doing laundry (yeah I know I have been saying that a lot this week).  I am going to make sure most of the house is in order.  Livia is coming on Wednesday instead of Thursday.  I got an email from TM last night..

This weekend continues the Celebration of Milford’s Anniversary with lots of activities including a play that my friend Nancy is directing.  I am hoping I can go at least once this weekend.  I am definitely going to the parade on Sunday.

Well whatever it is you are doing this weekend may it be a wonderful and safe weekend!!!!

Dear Friends

April 25, 2014

Dear Friends:

It is the end of a very long day.  I had a half day at work and spent the rest of the day running around running errands and getting some clothes for some life events (weddings, showers, etc).  I also did some grocery shopping and was able to make dinner.

The city has suffered a great loss today a young girl was stabbed to death while at Jonathan Law High School  this morning.  She had turned down a prom date from a young boy and he stabbed her.  Its been all over the news and it happened at Jonathan Law High school where many of the girls from the club attend.   It is all over twitter, facebook and i would imagine any other social media there is.  I thought she may have been a member of our club but she wasn’t but I am pretty sure many of the girls in our girls club know her or knew of her.

Well I am heading to bed.  I am tired and the rest of the weekend is lining up to be very busy.  tomorrow I will be running around getting last minute bridal shower stuff done (cards, gift bags) and doing a little more shopping.  If the weather is really nice I am planning on cleaning out my car tomorrow.  Sunday is the bridal shower up in Seymour.  It will be for a few hours.

G’Night.

Dear Friends

March 22, 2014

Dear Friends:

I almost started this entry at 3 this morning.  I couldn't sleep so I ambled around the house (to check if any unexpected packages were around.  Happily the boys had behaved.  I was quite surprised that at one point Preston returned to his chair to sleep for a few hours.   It felt odd that he didn’t stay but I did get some more sleep.  They did wake me up around 7:30 or so and we went for our walk.  Now I did some laundry and had breakfast sent some emails and relaxing.

I had some errands to run before the morning was through and then just hang out  here. At least I think that’s what I am going to do.  I sent an email to Mom this morning  but called her when I got back.  She was heading out to the store later in the day.

This year Milford is celebrating the 375th Birthday/anniversary  this year and I was curious to know if there was anything going on soon.  Well as you can see there will be in June but I am not sure if there will be any prior to that.  I am thinking of participating.  Although I didn’t go to this year’s St Patrick’s Day parade I would like to think I would go to this stuff.  I need to do things other than chores, and tv watching.

I had a call from Debbie M.  The resident Mexican train game  coordinator last night and so we talked today about that and Military Whisk for next week.  WE have the Boomers concert in April so that we have a number of things to do.  I guess I don’t just watch TV and sleep.

I have to make sure I get salad fixings for the Beth-El Shelter dinner this week.  I couldn’t remember what I signed up for and Telka sent out a reminder email this afternoon.  I am going to have to remind Mom I won’t be home for dinner that night.

WEll I am going to move the laundry along its been in the washer and dryer all day.  I have to do something about them.

Dear Friends

November 20, 2013

Dear Friends:

Yesterday turned out to be a really long day for me. Work got busy and I volunteered to pick up Mama Joanie’s ID when I pick up the checks.  AC and I made arrangements to pay any fees and buy my lunch.

After work I went to the meeting.  Several of us went together. I was really tired and achy but stayed quiet. It was windy.  While we waited we were given snacks.  We had pictures taken and then we had the meeting.  What I got out of the meeting is we are going to have a fight on our hands.

After the meeting Ann, Mary, and I walked back to the garage and went home.  I stopped and got my jackets and then headed home.

When I got home Mom was watching TV and I came upstairs and hung the jackets and did my own thing.  I got online, watched TV, cried, and slept.

Oh?  Cried? why?  The aches and the stiffness really were getting to me last night.  It seems like every night I get stiff or achy.  I ended up taking Tylenol last night to get to sleep.  Admittedly I feel better except for my backside.  I probably will have a hard time getting out of the chair during the day.

I did fall asleep after watching NCIS (that was good and will talk about that in my NCIS Blog) but during the night I woke up and stayed up until about the time my alarm was supposed to go off.

I got up got ready and checked some emails and forums and then saw Mom and told her about the fox sighting.  She went back to bed and I left for work.

I would come to find out later that Mom ended up getting the chills and sick for the day.  She ended up missing the funeral she was planning on attending.  She did manage to get the dining room set up for the luncheon she is having in the next couple of days.  She got back into her pajamas before I left for the inauguration this evening and when I returned she was already in bed.

My day was pretty busy with the mail and getting it done or most of it done by the time I left for the day.  I stopped long enough to see Debra and have lunch.

My session with Debra was about the last week’s events including the last argument with Mom.  She was glad I had walked away and that in most cases that was the best way to handle it.

AFter work I headed home. Mom was at her computer about to get back into her pajamas.  I relaxed until it was time for the inauguration.

I got ready and was out the door after 6:30.  It was still pretty cold and I was glad the heat was on.  I made it to the Parson’s complex in plenty of time and sat with Seny from the 4th. I got to see many people I knew.  The ceremony was vey nice and about an hour long.  There was refreshments and I had gotten them and then came home.

I grabbed something to eat and watched TV and finished putting out the garbage.

Now I am hitting the sack.

Last Day of Vacation

Considering that today is my last day of vacation.   I am going to make sure things that were not done (housework mostly) are done...
