not really in the Christmas spirit

There are 4 days and well you get the point until Christmas and I have been less than enthusiastic about the holiday.  The parties I have been too have been quite enjoyable.  I have received lovely gifts too.  I got some lovely ones at work.

Aside from that I managed to get a few presents bought most recently the family Yankee Swap for Christmas Day.  I do have to get one especially for my sister.   I don’t think it should take long.  I can do it in between the gym sessions.  My feelings are I don’t know what to get anyone.  I feel their interests and their ideas change constantly.

I did manage to get some cards out to some of my family and a few of my pals.  I have also received some lovely cards from family and friends as well.  Today I got one from my cousin Judy and her family.  My hope was to get more to use the cards here.  I may do more ecards.  The neighbors will get hand delivered cards by Christmas Day.

Work is almost done for the 2019 year.  We had our annual party last week and it was wonderful.  The new site tours were this week and they were very good.  Our tour guide left a lot to be desired but we had a good tour despite the problems.

This week the scanning computers were to be upgraded finally and it looks like we won’t be able to use them until we return from recess.  Something about granting access to it.  I am not entirely sure what that is about.  We had it before so this is just aggravating.   Both AC and I have been helping out with the backlog of refunds (scanning via another method) that’s what I have been doing for the last two days.

I will be doing the mail on Monday and hopefully it won’t be a lot.   When I finish that I will return to the refund scanning.  My hope is that we will be able to leave early on Monday.  However I have been told it won’t happen because others would object and have.  So we will have to see come Monday.

The weather has been quite cold and at times very bitter.  We had icy conditions on Monday this week and made commuting hard.  It had caused problems all over the place.   Wednesday was a few squalls and it didn’t last long but it did nothing for traffic that night so I skipped the Meetup again for two weeks in a row.  It’s been in the 30’s most of this week.

I had my infusion this week and it went well.  My next one is in the middle of January.  I have several appointments in the first two weeks of January it would seem.   I have to call the Standard again to add my eye appointment.   I had my hygienist last night and have to see the dentist in the New Year earlier than usual.

I wish I could say I was at the gym everyday but the last time I was there was Tuesday.  Wednesday morning couldn’t get out of bed in time.  That night was too tired from the day.  Thursday was the same thing, Friday no reason really.  I have class tomorrow along with the regular session.  WE have to reschedule for Tuesday since the gym is closing early that night.

My hope and plans the next week is to go every day.

Well I need to get to bed…I am tired..

Not Enought time yesterday

I just didn’t have enough time to post.  Between work, my infusion, and the gym.  I was tired and went to bed around normal time.

While at work I spent it Scanning and did fairly well.  I probably would have gotten a lot more done if I didn’t get so tired after my infusion.  Or have other distractions.  Not much happened at the office.  I know everyone seems to be anticipating the office party next week.  We have been getting tons of emails about the raffles and baskets.

I left around 10 for my infusion and on the way there got a reminder call for my appointment with Dr. Sonia on monday.  Something I totally forgot.  It is at 4:00.   When i got back from the infusion told Bob and called the Standard.  While I was there we watched the second service of President George Bush.  Very moving.  Would have loved to have been along the route of the train.

They are not focusing on late afternoon appointments for my infusions anymore.  The next one is 9:30 in the morning on January 24th.  It's the same day I have a mammogram.  So I will make plans to take the day off.

Alex was with clients and joked/complimented me on getting to the gym regularly.  I went to the burn class at 6:30.   By the time I got home I was achy.  I did manage to get some calcium pills and Vitamin D.  Alex reminded me to take them in the morning and night.   As i mentioned on Tuesday we are going to have a strategy session tomorrow to help with the prediabetes diagnosis.    Was contemplating on going tonight but decided not to.

Today was basically scanning.   We had a 30 minute staff meeting and recess was on the agenda and it was confirmed only those under the new contract will be will be working the recess.  So the scanning will back up and the mail will be heavy when we get back.  I always have to remind myself that the mail wasn’t heavy during that time anyway.   I will be able to relax and take care of things such as the pet sitting and pen paling.

Another item came up.  Those who call out sick before a holiday or after the holiday when they don’t get PTO request approved.  The Supervisor says he’s getting tired and annoyed with it.  He doesn’t want to start asking for dr.’s notes.  He always lets us know there is a maximum of people allowed.

I had my session with Debra Tonight.  We talked about work and how GA has been getting on my nerves with her behavior.  We talked about the fact I have pulled back from the Ladies guild.  We also talked about the upcoming Holiday.

That reminds me! Cheryl send out a text yesterday or today with a Christmas dinner invite.  So I accepted and Liz saw it.  I think she reacted to the response following it.  Debra seems to think this and the text messages that have transpired between us is a thawing.    She thinks things will be fine and just be myself.  We will have two  two more sessions before the Holiday and we won’t be meeting during the Christmas week.

The kitties are good.  They were waiting for me to feed them when I got in so I made sure I did before I did anything else.  For the last two nights I have been feeding them late.  Wednesday was because of the meet-up and last night I had forgot to feed them early.  They have been sleeping upstairs with me most nights and keeping themselves busy.

I just ordered a few new litter mats as the one upstairs is starting to deteriorate and I would like more so that I can change them more often.  I believe one of the orders is going to be here sometime next week and the others will be in the autoship later this month that will include the de-icer for the sidewalks (safe paws).

They have their annual physicals and shots in January.  I just scheduled Sky’s appointment today and managed to have it the same day as Tigers.

I haven’t ordered Peapod yet so I will have to do it tomorrow and have it delivered for Sunday.

I got some really great christmas  cards this week.  Most recently from Mayor Ben, and today from Cousin in NY.  It's a picture of their grandchildren.  My good intention was to write out some tonight.   It's not happening.

It's been so cold this week.  It's been in 30’s to 40’s and colder at night.  There is no snow in the forecast.  Maybe some rain but that won’t be until Sunday.

Well I am heading to bed...Have a great one.

Well not exactly as planned

I got up around 6 to get the singing duo fed and do our routine.  They managed to eat most of the food in a rather short time.  I laid on the couch and had the TV on in the background and played Solitaire on the phone.  Its addictive.

About two hours later I decided to set the timer and just work on organizing some of the files on the laptop.  Right at the moment organizing the Blogging files.  Putting them in subfiles so it looks a little more organized.  Then I will do the Pen paling folders and move them around a little.  If the OFfice suite cooperates I will move some of that stuff to the google.

Then I will move on to the Christmas cards.  I am hoping to work at least two hours on that.  IF I start giving myself a set time I won’t feel crazed and not get it done.

Eventually I will do the cooking.  Instead of the damn ribs I am going to move on to the chicken and turkey.  After that back to the pen paling.

Then get ready for work tomorrow.

Yeah haven’t made it to church yet.  Probably won’t get the tickets.  I will call the office and see if I can get them there.

Sky is currently in my old bedroom.  He had been vocal for a while and when I came upstairs he continued.  It was clear where he wanted to go.  So I acquiesced.  He is quiet now. You would think that’s a huge sign telling me it's time to move in there and get it organized and cleared out.  I have a huge bag of clothes that I can drop off to Goodwill.  There is also a box of vases I can take as well.  So much for me not going out today.

I am watching Tiger as I write this and she is asleep at the foot of the bed.  She has been up here since she got fed.  I was surprised she hasn’t run into the spare room to sleep but I am pleased she choose to stay.  I know that it doesn’t mean she won’t later.

Need to get going and get some of the cards out.

Christmas Eve Day 2017

I was up early but not as early as normal.  Preston was buried under a blanket and Vlad on the corner of the bed.  I got up and fed them and gave Preston his med.  I fed the fish and the others get fed  later.

I gave Preston his walk and he was cooperative and great about it.  The dawn was breaking into red and orange and it was lovely.  While on our walk I noticed that there was a new house being built where another long standing one was before.  I think it may have been anew condo site.

When we got back I gathered everything I was taking back to the house with me.  The gifts that needed to be put into their bags, and envelopes.  I brought the outfit with me and my phone which is completely dead and I can’t find the adapter.  I really need to get a new phone!

The babies were waiting on me at the door.  I didn’t go over last night for a tuck in.  I figured they would be hungry enough.  They were not warming up to the canned food.  I gave them some attention and opened the cellar door and the bedroom door.  They stayed there until I came home tonight for the last time.  Sky came down first.  I checked to see if they both were there.

I spent part of the morning getting the gifts together.  I was relieved to find that I didn’t have to find tissue paper for the gifts.  I found out that I do need to get younger kids something.  Liz left it up to me.  All the kids will be there tomorrow.  When I headed over to liz and was about to give them presents I discovered i had left theirs back at the house (I really hate when i do that).    I had an opportunity to ask Rich what he does for all the nieces and nephews.  He doesn’t get them anything.  He is a struggling self employed construction worker.  .

The afternoon was great.  The temperatures was in the high 30’s.  I stayed out of the way as much as I could.  Nelson and Liz were trying to get ready for tomorrow and help Rich with the cooking.    They also showed off their newest Nutcracker.  It was a 6ft tall lit up made of mesh and wire.  Very beautiful.  If my sister posts it I will share it on my FB.

We  had Hors d'oeuvre.  Then opened presents.  FRom Liz and Nelson Towels, another “I love my cat” mug (they got me one last year) and an ornament with a picture of Liz and I from last week.  My niece Jen who stopped by for a visit and is three months pregnant gave me an ornament too.  One with my cats.  Liz’s Friend Andrea gave me natural facial creams I can’t wait to use.

Our meal was wonderful, ham, string bean casserole, various forms of sweet potato and potatoes au gratin with a myriad of pies.  I was quite full by the time I went to church.

As expected the church was full.  There was a 4 pm and 4:15 (in the school auditorium).  I wasn’t able to sit with Liz at first but during communion I was.  We ddi make eye contact after she did the readings.  She is going to be serving communion at the 10 pm mass (today’s version of the mid-night mass).

After I saw a few of my Ladies guild members I walked Liz back to Andrea’s car (Andrea left mid way through the service) and she took Liz back to her house and I headed home to get a change of clothes for tomorrow and check in on the kitties.  Like I said Sky finally came down before I left.   I cuddled with him for a few minutes (he wasn’t particularly impressed).

When I came back to the zoo.  I could hear both Preston and the neighbors dog both barking.  I chatted with Preston and he waited with me while I was in the bathroom.  I took him out for a walk and then came back and started the whole feeding process for all the animals.  I even washed out Samson’s wheel.  He hasn’t come out of his house in all the time I was here but I promised Olivia I would go and chat with him before I make it to the bed.

Oh I had a lovely visit from the Chris’s down the street.  They brought me gifts for the kitty’s and me.  I also got a couple of presents from the neighbor Dolans.  One of them I promptly dropped all over the floor (they were cookies).    I told Shannan about it when I saw it afterwards.

Tomorrow I will take a quick run over to Stop and Shop and get two more gift cards and then head over back to the house and spend time with the kitties and straighten up here and there.  I would be lying if I said I won’t watch TV because that also what I did today.

I am going to leave the house by 12 and head to Cheryl’s for the afternoon.  I will celebrate Christmas with them and then come home hopefully at decent time (and if the weather is permitting) check on the kitties and then head back here for the night.

Tuesday I will have to call the Local Insurance Agent as they have been trying to get a hold of me.   I received a letter from them last week. I hope nothing is wrong.  I just paid the insurance on the car.

Well I am missing Beauty and the beast...

Feeling Better

After having a very decent sleep last night I am feeling much better than I was yesterday.  I got up at 5:30 in the morning on a Sunday when most people are sleeping (that I know).

We did our normal routine but today I let the kitties down in the cellar.  I had to go down to check a few things so I can get grocery shopping done some time today.  They went down and then came back up.

I managed to get 4 more cards written to family.  All the while checking sites for addresses to make sure I have it correct. I am still anxious to do make my own address book.  That will have to be a project for another day.

The sun is out now and its 27 degrees out.  It looks like a beautiful winter scene out there.  I will be going out there soon like I said yesterday.

I can’t believe that a week from today is Christmas Eve!  I clearly have been letting the holiday go by without any real organization but when I talk to others, they have said they haven’t begun shopping or have done anything for the holiday.  I have allowed myself permission to not feel bad about it.  But I do.

There is literally two weeks left of 2017.  These two weeks will be filled with holiday celebrations, house sitting, doctor appointments, and work.  I am hoping that during recess I won’t be sick again.  It’s come to be a holiday tradition again.  I remember many times growing up I had been sick for the holidays.

Anyway, my goal for 2018 as always is to become more organized, be healthier, and of course be there for my family.  Of course do the best job at work, and all the other things I am involved with too.

Hope to

My hope this morning was to get more cards written out before I head to the hairdressers for my haircut.  I managed seven or 8 but didn’t mail them.  So I managed one more later on in the day.
Then I was going to do some shopping as much as possible.  I get distracted easily (might be the ADD).  It also doesn’t help when the only other computer is slow.  I did send ecards to the cousins who haven’t shared their addresses yet (they recently moved).  I am concerned that there is no notification that it was sent.  Luckily I know two of them received them.  So now I am confident that they will get them or have gotten them.

While I was addressing some of the family ones I discovered a couple of things about a couple of my cousins.  They both moved to new locations.  I just hope they don’t mind that I got their addresses.

Tiger thinks I have gone nuts again.  This damn computer I am using is just not cooperating.  It’s taking too long and I got really aggravated with it to the point now I had a headache and upset stomach again.  It did act up again late in the day.  I am relieved to say Tiger and I spent some time hanging it out on the couch tonight.  Her brother loves my new doo.

Actually I was feeling that everything I touched was not working right, the cell phone disconnected me from Mama Roberta and I tried to get back to her and I ended up calling Mama Joanie who heard me screaming.  I felt so stupid.  I finally got back to Roberta and we finished our conversations about the windows, taxes, and the holiday.

Around noon time I got ready for the hair dressers and the bank,  I managed all very nicely and even made a few side trips to Christmas tree Shop for coffee and  to the pet store next to the Hair salon.

While I was waiting I had some coffee and a cookie that one of Karen’s clients made for her and I had a chance to relax.  By then the headache started to subside little.  When it was finally my turn we had a lovely chat about the article that Entertainer John Tesh posted to his newsfeed about what not to do at a Hair Salon.  We had a great laugh about it.

After my appointment I headed home.  I was starting to get tired.  I fell asleep with the TV on not sure what I was watching but Sky was very interested in having me spend time with him.  That’s when he did his nuzzling into my head.    Since then I did continue to watch and lay in the bed.

I managed to have some cereal and the headache and stomachache are no more.  I am still tired so I am going to go finish watching Star Wars weekend again and maybe got to bed early.

Snowy Friday night

It is after 6 at night and I am about to do marathon Christmas Card signing and addressing.  It is snowing out and has been since 2 or 3 this afternoon.  It was definitely a slow ride home but I had to make stops.

The first stop was to the Post office to mail the four cards I addressed last night and to buy about 40 stamps.  Once I go through all of these I will buy more.  The second stop was to Adams to pick up dinner and dips for me to snack on tonight.

I think I messed up on the list.  Some names are checked off as being done and I don’t remember doing them and the dates seem wrong.  So I am going to be a little more careful with it but if I feel I didn’t send it out I will send another one.

I found my address book (the hardcover book) in my bag.  I had though I lost it long ago.  I have to update it.  I also found the note book inserts alphabetically which reminded me that I wanted to find a three ring binder to make my own address book.  Of course trying to figure out how I want to do it is a little aggravating.

Sky is asleep on the bed behind me.  Tiger was in my bedroom sleeping on the bed and then followed me downstairs when I went for tea.  She stayed down there.

I was dragging yesterday

I was so tired yesterday from the previous night’s activities (dinner and theater, coming home late) and of course waking up earlier than normal.  I didn’t post much but i did manage to get check in but not do any writing actually that’s not true I did update my health blog.  I didn’t even text my sis or brother. A point Jim made last night via text.

I did hear from Liz yesterday.  She wanted to make sure I had a great time Sunday night.  I told her i did and that I enjoyed being with them all.  Now I just have to find something for her for Christmas.  She was wistful about a few things as well.    I found out later this afternoon she had called because she was in the “neighborhood” and wanted to stop by and say hi.  I called her back before leaving for home but she was playing cards with Chris.

I saw my health coach yesterday and still managed to lose 1 lb of weight.  We will meet  on the 14th instead of a week from Monday.  I am hoping I have lost more and do better with the sweets and the cheese.

Work was good busy but good. I was caught up with all of last weeks work by yesterday afternoon.  I got more before I left for home.  I spent the afternoon opening mail when I wasn’t at the Committee meeting that was not organized.

I originally planned on getting the ingredients for the cheesecake after work but decided I could do it on the way home from the Eye Doctor tomorrow.  I know I have been procrastinating but it really isn’t that hard to do.  It will take an hour and I should be home fairly early.

Tonight I had some more of the Rotisserie chicken and having some potatoes with it.  Actually as i am writing this its in the micro.  I was trying to plan out my dinner to best sort through the calories (since I have already gone over on so many levels).

There is another snow event (sleet wise) coming through the state tonight its raining right now but we may get some snow.  When it snowed yesterday it was already gone from Woodmont but there was evidence all along the shoreline in West Haven yesterday.  I may have to pull out the old boots from the cellar.

On that night since NCIS is over I am going to go to bed....

Christmas Day 2015

This wonderful holiday started early for me with a beautiful walk and looking at a beautiful sunrise.  After the walk I showered, dressed and packed up the car with a few of the presents to distribute.  I headed over back to my house and was greeted by a gift from Neighbor Dolan's (their traditional cookies and some socks) and with disdain by the kitties.  I quickly got to feeding the kitties and cleaning out their boxes.  They still were playing hard to get but eventually got over it.  I did some more laundry before leaving and will get it out tomorrow upon my return.

Once I finished there it was nearly ten so I headed to Liz and Nelson’s with a quick stop at the post office.  Nothing was there (not really surprised as I haven’t mailed anything with that address of late).  Traffic was not bad at all this morning.  What would normally take 15 minutes took less.

When I arrived Liz was playing cards with Rich and Friend Rick was visiting.  He only stayed a short time.  Nelson was in the other room not feeling well.  According to Liz and him he didn’t have a great night last night.  He was not breathing well and couldn’t swallow.  We had coffee and exchanged gifts.

Rich and Liz Loved their gifts from me.  I got cat magnets for the car litter mat for the cats and toys and some beautiful fleece nightgowns.  The thank you notes will start soon.

We were waiting on Chris and his fiancee to arrive.   They had been partying well until 3 am and had some last minute things to prepare.   When they arrive Chris made eggs and bacon and Jen made cinnamon rolls French Toast bake.  A recipe she got from Facebook and I think I just found.  I had a number of cups of coffee and I hope it won’t keep me up tonight.  They loved their gifts from em as well.

It was nearly one when I left there and headed back to Preston.  It was 72 degrees at that point.  There was still a little chill in the air (at least for me).  Liz pointed out I wasn’t feeling well.  while I was at the house I walked Preston and then gathered the last of the gift s.  I headed to Cheryl's via the Merritt.

The Drive to Cheryl’s was not bad.  I did notice the change in the sky.  The sky grew gray.  I got to Cheryl’s some time after 2.  Nelson jr greeted me at the door and offered to get the box of gift s I still had in the car.  Then I saw the rest of the family and we all chatted and stuff.  The only thing was I spent a lot of time washing my hands whenever I had to wipe my nose.  Liz and Nelson came after I did.

We played and talked and then eventually ate a feast.  There was ham and pork, and macaroni and cheese (I didn't have that) but I ate almost everything else.  Around 3 or 4 we opened presents and did the Yankee swap.  The parents loved the gifts I got their kids and as I looked around I probably could have gotten some of these kids different gifts like clothes.  In the end I was really satisfied with what they got.

I got home some time after five and we have been relaxing.  Preston wanted to sit on my chest and I couldn’t let him but he was cuddly just the same.  He was barking at something and now he is quiet again.

I think I am going to go back to bed for now.

Enjoyable Afternoon

The Gift Delivery was pretty good.  Since it was our first time doing it at the new place (new for us).  There were some “hiccups”.  There was some question as to what would or could be given out.  The young man there a bit confusing us in directions.  Again it was suggested by our alumni that hats and socks be the only choices next year.  I couldn’t agree more.  It’s a waste of time and money on our part if we can’t give the stuff out (it was cologne, toiletries).  After the activity R, T, M and I went out to lunch.
WE followed T while she dropped one of the girls off at Private Community off of E. Rutland Road.  It had been a long time since I had been there and we have had friends over the years live there.  It was beautiful.  Then we went to Mama Teresa’s for lunch.
We spent the next hour and half eating and talking and laughing about stuff.  We talked about travel and life in general.  It was a lot of fun.  I got home about 2:30-3.
I called Liz to let her know  I was still going to be later than planned for me to pick up stuff for today’s  Luncheon but as a result I got an invite to pizza party (for 4) for my nephew’s birthday (he is 41).  So this allowed me to relax for a bit and take care of stuff.
Around 4 I got a phone call from my friend Nancy to discuss the details of the week.  We discussed feeding times, walks, and new tenants and security stuff.  She asked what my plans were and I gave her my itinerary and that I would have to check in on the cats and stuff.  The whole thing didn’t take long.
After the call I manage to relax for a bit longer and then went to the store for cards and then headed over to my sister’s house.  They were full card game mode when I got there.  We chatted and almost got sassy with each other and Liz apologized later.  She has a habit of saying things to me that are unkind.  Like all siblings do I would imagine.  After we ate I headed out to the mall for shopping.
I didn’t go far and didn’t shop for long.  I started off at Target and saw nothing I liked as far as coloring books and stickers for the kids.  I then headed to Dicks for a gift card for Chris’s son.  I realized I had to get gift cards back at target and got them.  Including the I-Tunes for Jim’s kids.
After that I headed to Michael’s Art Supplies (I am sure there are many near anyone who reads this) again I wasn’t all that enthusiastic with the volume of coloring books but I managed to get several for $1.  I did get some stickers and felt stickers.  I am probably going to split the stickers up in between all of them.  I won’t do that until its closer to the day.
Since I decided I wasn’t going to participate in the ornament swap I decided to skip Pier one and headed home.  I also decided that the rest of the gift cards would be bought on the way home from the luncheon or in the next few days.
I have to get some gift cards from the bookstore, Wholefoods and Macy’s, and Chefs, and Old Navy.  I just remembered I need to go to Lowes or Home depot.  The rest of the older kids in the R branch aren’t getting gifts this year (not because I don’t want to do but Liz has been pushing me not to have to do it).  The ones for Macy’s and Whole foods and bookstores are for the P branch of the tree.
When I got home the kitties were roaming around and so I cleaned the kitchen up a little took care of the litterboxes and swept the bathroom up (a lot of good that did).  Watched a little of the NCIS marathon and the end of WOZ then went to bed.
It was a while before I got to sleep though.  I was sniffling, and my neck was bothering me and I was coughing (not a good sign).  I took meds and eventually had no problem sleeping.  That would explain my need to sleep more today.
When I got up it was almost 6:30.  The kitties were very patient I thought.  I got up did the regular routine, got them fed and had coffee and went back to sleep on the couch until 9:30.
I am keeping my eye on the clocks so I am not late to Cheryl’s.  I will do the cards later though I just feel like relaxing and doing some more sleeping.  I think that could be the Zyrtek.
Well that’s all the news for now…have a great day.

The Weekend Before Christmas

It is the weekend before Christmas and I haven’t done much shopping except for a few things and cards and stamps.  I tried to do some of the cards last night but I found the ones I know I had already done not even with notes in the various places written.  It got to be so frustrating that I kept getting distracted and now they are just sitting here to continue.  Next year has got to be different.  Anyway after the gift delivery and picking up stuff from Liz for tomorrow I will do some shopping.  Even do marathon shopping for the next few days.

Yesterday was our office luncheon catered by Bourassa’s in Wallingford.  The buffet table was on in the foyer (of the office) and there were tables in the waiting area and boardroom.  There was salads, breads, main entrees were penne ala vodka, eggplant rollattini, and chicken dish.  Desserts were cookies.  The gift they gave this year was a canvas bag with the Yale Logo on it.  It was very nice.  I took a picture of a co-worker dressed as an elf and posted it on Facebook too.  Last year she dressed as a Christmas tree.

I ran into KT when she walked by my cubicle yesterday and we talked about the news about Chris and Jennifer and she has known about a week or so when Chris told her he was going to propose.  We squealed and hugged and some people thought we were probably nuts.  Later on in the day she came to me and said Jennifer posted the announcement and I shouted and probably a good chance I will get spoken to about it.  Of course I shared the announcement on Facebook.

I was trying to contact Jim yesterday but he was in the middle of job hunting/filling out applications.  I haven’t heard how he did with it but I have a message to him.  He is probably sleeping at the moment.  I did call Kris on the way home last night to get hir address but again haven’t heard from hir either.

Liz called me suggesting that with all the time off I have that maybe I should go down and visit Jim.  Of course she forgot that I am housesitting for the entire week.  Something she totally forgot about.  It happens especially with the MS.  I was chatting with her while writing this and we were talking about              tomorrow’s Luncheon at her daughters.  I have to pick up her stuff this afternoon as she won’t be going this year.

I went to the post office yesterday and found two cards/letter in my box.  They were from Linda in WV and Connie in TX.  I spoke with Connie last night (she did what I usually do-forgot to sign it) and we chatted briefly.  I  sent a message  to Linda this morning and told her I got her letter.

Now I have to start getting ready for the day with no real list yet.

Monday Musings

It looks like I am going to have to reset the light timer in the bedroom.  IT went on around 2 am after I dropped my breathing exercises and it must have hit it.  I had to turn it off at the lamp.  I looked at the one I have for downstairs and there is instructions on the timer itself and they seem straight forward.  I tried to fix it last night but it didn’t work.    I was taking a look at digital one on line and that seemed like it would work.   It was a cheap price.  The ones I have are annoying.

I ordered a pound of Christmas/cookies from Julia’s Bakery in Orange for the literary club party on Thursday now all that’s left is appetizers.  I looked on Shop Rite for theirs and I saw two things I would like to bring.  They are spinach dip tray or stuffed bread tray.  I called Maureen to know what the others wanted and she sent a text message that the stuffed breads would be fine and she also gave the time she would be picking me up.

When I got home I placed the order for the breads and my regular groceries.  The groceries will be delivered but I have to pick up the breads.  I also have to pick the cookies up the same night and have until 8 to do that.

Work went pretty well and I was feeling pretty accomplished with getting stuff done.  I have been re-batching the older EOB’s for NEMG and have returned them to TE’s office.  I still have more to do.  As well as the new stuff that came in.  A part of me was hoping the desk would be completely cleaned off and organized by the time I left but it didn’t happen.  I have a meeting tomorrow with my Supervisor and SR to discuss and review the mail distribution.  IT always makes me nervous.  I do have the lists updated for now.

As I was driving home tonight I was noticing how orange red the sky was and it brought back the poem Red Sky.  It was one that Mom often recited when we saw the skies like that.  The sky also looked like the sandy bottoms at the beaches.

I spent a good deal of the night paying the house bills and finally registered for the RWA site.  OMG it took so long to get a freaking password to work and I was getting so aggravated.  It took so long that I didn’t get to the Christmas labels.

I did get a couple of lovely cards.  I got them from family today.

I think though I am going to bed.

Last Day of Vacation

Considering that today is my last day of vacation.   I am going to make sure things that were not done (housework mostly) are done...
