Despite the rain I had a great time.    I got dressed around 6 and headed to my sister’s.   When I arrived I had the pleasure of seeing my family in South Carolina.   After we finished with them we put make up on (to cover my sore nose) and to look the part of flapper.   I got the approval of my BIL.     WE took some pictures and then around 8:15 I headed to Middletown.    The drive to Middletown was okay but there were some spots the lights that were along the highway were not on and that made it a little unnerving because I was afraid some bambi or pet would run out in the middle of the highway.    Eventually I made it to the place parked and found the restaurant after reading instructions from GC.   The speak easy really was wonderful and it was exactly the way I read about speakeasy’s.   My group was towards (around the corner from the bar area and there were about 10 of us I guess.   Three husband...

Greetings and Happy New Year!   In about 4 hours I will be at my sisters getting last minute fixings for my night at Conspiracy Bar in Middletown for the Meetup New Year’s Party.   I am really looking forward despite not feeling completely better. I spent a lot of time hanging out yesterday.   We had a storm late in the day and it caused the Internet to go out so I slept for most of the day.    Oh it came back on around 7:30 but I had to reset the TV because I pressed too many buttons.   IT was all better now. I have been taking the Zicam and I was feeling better for a while but it seems the sniffles are coming back.   Oh I will be taking more Zicam shortly.   I hope it will be enough for the night. I did go to the bank and get some money out to have for parking and whatever else.    I would like to take this moment and thank you all who have visited my blog and shared my world.   I look forward to your visits in ...

Dear Debra:     Well the afternoon was good.  Olivia texted me just before noon to let me know she was on her way home.  I told her where I was and what had transpired earlier this morning.  She was mortified but I took full responsibility for it.  I told her I would be back there later to pick up my charger.  I left the chicken for them.  I saw them after Dave’s Party when I went to pick up my charger.  I stayed for nearly an hour.  We discussed the last day.  I was able to talk with Preston and give him a snack but he snapped at me and it was the way I approached him.       After my visit with them I went to ShopRite and I picked up a few things for the Rib recipe and a few other things I needed.    The recipe said it would take 15 minutes to prep and 8 hours to cook.  I started it just about 6 and  it seemed to take longer (noticed a few things about the ingredients that I ...

I left the office by 4:30 and managed to get to banquet facility by 5 despite the weather and commuter traffic.  The building itself was huge. THe parking lot (even though it was warned about) not so much. I parked on a huge hill across the street and walked down with a coworker’s family member (who worked with in the YM).  I was so good all night. UNtil the desserts. :( . Did some dancing and chatting and when the time came I left. The Drive home wasn’t too bad even though I got turned around.  I ended up taking some side roads that were really hilly and turned back to the way i needed.  OF course if I kept going the way I was originally I could have driven by Cheryl and Mike’s house.  AS i was looking at a map the way I ended up going is close to where I am getting the mammogram. I did get home by 9 and the cats were waiting by their bowls.  I got them fed and then got dressed for bed. I checked the mail (couple more CHristmas cards).  ...

OF all days to have an upset stomach!  I didn’t come to work prepared for this and I don’t have time to go home and get cleaned up and go to the Office party.  I am going to have to do it here of course. But I hadn’t eaten since last night! Maybe coffee. I was seriously considering running to the store and buying things.  By lunchtime things were back to order. Snow was in the forecast today and by mid morning it had arrived.  I was worried and fretting that the only things I had were sneakers and the shoes with the outfit.  OH and I discovered that I may have left the sweater Jacket back at the Allentown Hotel when I was there for Thanksgiving. I called them at break time and asked if it was turned in and they said they would look around and see. I have been thinking about meeting with Liz tomorrow.  I have also had to keep pushing it out of my head too. So that i don’t keep getting upset before I get there. I am sitting in my living room watching the 60 minute piece on fake news and how it is perpetrated and how much it is believed and used.   One of the guys who is a radio guy is an idiot.   It is just a piece to remind us all to be care full of the things we read on the various sites.   This is an issue in a few of the message boards for NCIs I frequent.   We are constantly reminded to not post from certain sites (and yet some still did it until recently) and to check with reliable sources such as the network itself or the reps of the stars or even ET or such sites.   Anyway I am waiting for NCIS: LA. I understand there was a screw up on the Oscars last night.   It has been talked about on social media and the news.   This is why I don’t watch it or any awards programs.   First of all I think it was very stupid on the part of the people who handed out the cards to the celebrities and I think they should have checked it before being announced.   You are probably going to say “it’s live” but it’s unprofessional and wrong.   I am pretty sure these people all partied before going and they should stone cold sober.   It was awkward to say the least.   I can’t believe it they have mentioned the damn mistake three times in the time I watched it. Livia didn’t come today she had a Dr. Appointment this morning.   So she will come tomorrow.   I am so looking forward to it. Yesterday was Dr. T’s Pool party and it was a lot of fun.  It was mostly her friends from the Education world.  Some of them were retired and some were just starting a second career.  Of course Woman’s Club members were there too.  The weather was nice.  I didn’t think the weather was too hot but then again i was wearing jeans and a shirt.  Not the Hawaiian theme that Dr. T was hoping for.  I guess I didn’t pay attention to that detail (again).  They were very accommodating to my POC and had places to plug it in.  The food was great.  I stayed until 6. When I got home it was nearly 7 and I spent the rest of the night watching TV and managed to make the bed and put some more laundry in the wash.  I actually have more to do before going out today. I was in bed by 8 because I was tired but did watch TV and surfed the net for  awhile.  Sky came up for a while and slept at the end of the bed and he also cuddled with me. ...

The Christmas Holiday Committee went all out this year and sent invitations back in November for the luncheon that was held in three different areas for availability.  They even had tables so that we could sit and mingle and eat.  The menu included ziti, chicken, eggplant rollatini,  potatoes, salad, and dessert.  We all received lovely coffee cups with the University Logo on it Liz called me and told me there were two sets of kittens from different litters that there are 3 months old and 5 months old I think she told me they were tabbies.  Anyway we will see them tomorrow.  After work tonight I went to Petco and got “supplies” that included a scratching post, 1 set of dishes, two litter boxes and scoopers. and a cat carrier.  oh and I forgot to mention the 25 lbs of kitty litter.  It was too heavy to bring in. and will tomorrow. Dear Mom, Happy Nov 1!  It is a wet and rainy start to NOvember. Earlier forecasts had predicted snow for the state but instead we got the rain.  We got rain Wednesday which surprised me and I was sort of surprised for Halloween night. Work has been busy and a little stressful for everyone.  Productivity for most and of course for me I am still swimming according to SR in the mail.  Its still the re-address mail with the pre-authorizations.  No I am not asking for help.  I love my co-workers but ever since I had the  dizzy spells tuesday they have been making sure I eat.  I have had an offer to have a dinner made for me.  Some people feel I have lost too much wait.  Others of course feel I look great.  I had called Liz and told her about the spells and she wondered if my perhaps my illness is causing them.   Thursday was Gloria’s Retirement party.  It was great and lots of food.  Of course a few people asked...

January 24,  2014 Dear Friends:      Sorry for not getting back to you yesterday but it got busy and I wanted to make sure stuff was all done before I left.  I wasn’t sure if I would get it all done and delivered but I did.     I got to see Grandma Mary she came back after a couple of days off.  Her new grandbaby arrived over the weekend and she hasn’t seen him yet because she got a cold.  She was very disappointed but she is anxious to hold him.     When we got to the garage I took a few minutes and cleaned out the car.  I headed to Tim’s and apparently they were expecting me yesterday morning.  Great.  So they took me home and said they would call me and tell me the news.     MOm was sitting in the back.  She wasn’t feeling great but she did manage to put the coffee together for the meeting.  I started getting ready for the meeting.  I even finished the minute...

January  19, 2014 Dear Friends     I finally went to sleep some time after 3 am Saturday and I know that Its all the coffee I had Friday.  I know at one point it was decaf but I went and added the regular.  I spent the time trying to clear out one mail box and updated the Java program that’s been waiting for me to do it for the past two days.  Mom had a rough time sleeping herself.  She had a nose bleed at one point.  I asked her how she slept when she got up around 9 and she isn’t feeling well.  We did not go to the lab after all.  I told her we would do it Monday.  She said she didn’t want me to lose more time.  I reminded her I have off.  We were not sure if the Lab is closed that day or not.  I tried to get an actual person but I couldn’t so we will just have to go over and see for ourselves. I noticed I was coughing a little more yesterday morning.  I hope I am not catching what the cruise people got.  The cold weather isn’t helping either.  Oh and it was snowing for most of the day. It only landed on the grass apparently.  Really?  Seriously?  Come on.  We are supposed to get more next early next week. Work went well despite the feeling yucky.  I got a lot done and off my desk.  I stayed until six helping out with the scanning and was out the door by 6 and home by 6:30. Well hello all.  I had a lovely day and the things that concerned me were not even a real issue-anymore or to anyone else.  I did the errands I needed in the morning, came home got the laundry into the dryer and then had a quick bite to eat.  I had already called RR to make arrangements to pick her up for the meeting and so I just relaxing for a bit before taking off again. It was after 12:30 when I picked RR up and we talked about the week and how I was working on letting people know when I was upset without showing them.  I told her about the “incident with T and of course she told me not to worry about it. We got to the house close to 1 and were the first ones there.  We talked while waiting and then the girls came.   They worked on the Valentines that were left and I was watching and writing the minutes. I am here doing Scanning OT and the three of us had an opportunity to speak to GayleC and she is home from being in the hospital/infirmary.  She sounded stronger and happier.  She hadn’t been home in over a month.  Gayle and I spoke late last week as well and went over the same stuff we talked about then too.  There is a strong possibility that she will be attending our team party next week. (:0) Happily I got the daily stuff done.  I just started on the postage tallies for today but need to finish it tomorrow.  Then I can work on the readdress mail until lockbox comes.  I am thinking it will be heavy.   Jim emailed me this afternoon his wish list.  Gift Cards to Amazon, LL Bean, and of course Wegman’s.  He is coming here for Christmas so I can keep his here until then but I have got to get the kids theirs before they go to Colorado.
