Hot Midweek Reflections

It is another day of hot temperatures.  It is currently 83.  It will get no hotter than 86.  It got in to the 90’s Monday and mid 80’s yesterday.  It only rained for a brief time early this morning.  It looked like it was going to rain more but it didn’t and the sun came out.  I am glad because if it didn’t the meetup this afternoon would be cancelled or postponed.

I called JOC this morning to offer we drive up together to the meetup.  We agreed and I will be picking her up at 5 and from there go to Branford.  Her foot was a little better but wasn’t really anxious to push it.  She was a little concerned about the drive up there but then she thought she was being overly paranoid about the whole situation.

This time last week I was working on budgets and that’s an ongoing thing.  I was also on a search for a misplaced CC and had to order a new one.  Well the new one came and any guesses what I found yesterday as I got to the store yesterday?  You got it, the old one in one of the reusable bags in the car. I really should have looked harder.  The old one is currently in to be shredded pile.

This time last week the gyms opened up and I have been there almost every day.  I didn’t go Sunday but I went walking with JOC that day.  Classes didn’t start up until Saturday.  I went to class Monday, and tried to go in the last couple of days but they were going to interfere in the walks that I ended up not taking.

We had our last FF4W Thursday trivia Night last week.  Happily they moved it to Monday night at 6:30 for now.  I think GC is hoping to find local restaurants that are reopening and beginning Trivia Game nights again.  I was talking to Authoress51 about it.  I sent her a link today for a trivia game meetup in her city.  Just in case the trivia stops being online or something.

Of course the greatest news is that there will a new baby in the family come December!  My Nephew Chris and His wife Jen are expecting a baby Boy.  They had a zoom gender reveal party on Sunday.  Of course everyone is ecstatic.

Well I need to start getting ready for the Meetup so I will say good night.  Blessed Be.

3.            I am thankful for my job.

4.            I am thankful for the Medical profession that keeps me on the road to good health.   Got some tests coming up (CT-Scan not really considered a test).  I see Debra this week I think.

5.            I am thankful for my neighbors.   Everyone is fine. They are getting ready for Halloween.

6.            I am thankful for my home.   Still have to contact Lawyer bob regarding the window.

8.            I am thankful for the organizations I belong to. I will be missing the retreat as I mentioned earlier this week.  We have the auction next weekend as well.

It is down to the last week before Election.   I am battling back and forth with the guilt of not participating this much.  My Chairman isn’t worried.  I do other things for the party.  Last meeting was chaotic though.

9.            I am thankful for the weather.  It was in the 60’s this week and rainy for the last few days.  I want to say this is indian summer but I don’t really know that.

10.          I am thankful for those who choose to serve our country enough said

The Final Monday Musings

DEar Debra:

It is New Years Eve Day.  My day isn’t going fast yet.  I had a rather unexpected evening.  I was getting sick to my stomach after eating almost entire package of english biscuits.  I am not sure the entire timeline but it wasn’t fun.

The sun was out this morning and I headed to the house and get showered and ready for the day.  I went to the bakery and got the loaves of the stuffed breads. I learned they are opened tomorrow (which could have been better).  Next year I will consider that.

My Dentist appointment was delayed to 10:15 so that allowed me to drop off the loaves to Dave’s place and we had an opportunity to catch up and talk about the holidays.  Of course we talked so long I was slightly late for my appointment. As it was I didn’t get in until 10:30 or 11. I think it was not until 12.

I decided to come back to the house first.  Making a stop at Chris’s house and see the pups.  After awhile Chris and sean came out (yeah Sean). I congratulated on the impending nuptials of Shea.  I asked about his pups. Then after he answered he headed home. I spent time talking with Chris and getting lots of attention from Lily.  I came back to the house for a little bit longer.

Did some odds and ends and waited for the mail and then headed back to the critters making another stop at Chris’s house.  This time I got to say hello to ChrisG. We talked about the holidays, and cats, and the whole pet sitting thing. I headed out

I stopped at Popeyes and got food.  Lots of it. I ate some of it earlier and after I took someone for a walk.  Before the rain came through.

It's been raining pretty much since 4.  Spent the afternoon watching TV, and answering an email from Dr. T.  I am trying to also answer another email from one of the admins of Livingwell 2 group I am in.
Olivia came home around 8 and we chatted while she got ready for her overnighter with her her boyfriend but poor Preston whimpered the whole time and sat with Shawn.  Wehn they left he stayed with me and whimpered some more. He eventually fell asleep until I went upstairs to check on Sampson.

As it has gotten closer to Midnight i think I will go to bed.

Thankful Thursday

1.         I am thankful for my family warts and all.  Heard from Niece Diane this week.  She and her husband will be coming over after Halloween and will be picking up all DIning room stuff in the cellar.
*Heard from James Jr. This week he is looking forward to my visit at thanksgiving.  He will show me his brand new car (he has had it for about a year already).
**My Niece Lisa’s father is having surgery as I write this.  She went down with the younger ones this past week.
2.        I am thankful for my kitties.  They have been great. Sleeping with me at night. Sky looked like he was zoning out last night on the floor.
3.         I am thankful for my job.  IT's been busy. Had a couple of bumps in the road this week that really frustrated me.
4.         I am thankful for the Medical profession that keeps me on the road to good health.   Everything still good.   I see Debra for our weekly session tomorrow.  I have my infusion next week. Hemotologist concerned a little with the elevated White cell count.
5.         I am thankful for my neighbors.   They are all well.
6.         I am thankful for my home.  Livia comes and cleans the house next week.  I always love it when she does.

Ladies guild had our meeting this past week. Bake Sale did fairly well.  WE have a number of things coming up.
9          I am thankful for the weather.   Even though it has been summer like weather I am grateful we don’t have the kind of weather The southern regions have.  Although I may regret saying that as we are expecting severe thunderstorms-again.
10.      I am thankful for the men and women who choose to protect and serve their country and their citizens even at the worst possible times.    Enough said.

Thankful Thursday

1.         I am thankful for my family warts and all.   All the young'uns are going back to school this week at least in state.  The Southern branch may have already started. Still haven’t spoken to Liz even though I had a dream about her the other night.

2.        I am thankful for my kitties.  They seem to be dealing with the heat wave we have been experiencing as best as they can.

3.         I am thankful for my job.  Been really busy this week.  Since my back up for the mail has been on a cruise I have been doing all of it.   Haven’t really done much scanning except for one day this week. I am anticipating some professional development classes I signed up for that are coming up in the next few months.  Looking forward to another three day weekend.

Still no word on the locale of new building or even if we are moving.

4.         I am thankful for the Medical profession that keeps me on the road to good health.  Made it to the gym twice this week (Saturday, and Tuesday) so far.  I will be participating in the Fitness Edge fall Challenge next month .  Should be interesting.

Rheumatologist and she says I am doing well. She confirmed that all my doctor’s appointments (eyes, cardiologist, hemotologist, all of them) should be able to be under the FMLA its related.  My infusion is early in the month but later in the day.

I see Debra on Friday.  Been keeping her updated on daily stuff with my blog entries.  We will delve deeper into the blog entries and situations that I need to deal with.

5.         I am thankful for my neighbors.    Everyone has been busy.  Some starting school, Others working.  One of the houses still on the real estate market.

6.         I am thankful for my home.  It is providing me a great place to be protected and comfortable.  I am still working on getting it better organized. I see some projects ahead of me but they do need to wait.

7.         I am thankful for my friends.  I have been enjoying my coffee power hour meetups that I have been attending very much.  I feel at ease with these ladies. I have friended a few of them on facebook already.

I just signed up for another meetup this time it involves hiking for overweight and out of shape people.  There is supposedly a hike in Naugatuck state park up north. Still waiting on reply for confirmation of location.

8.         I am thankful for the organizations I belong to. Campaign season is in full swing.  DTC HQ is opened and there were some activities starting from there. Although the last one wasn’t well attended but everyone coughs it up to families getting ready to go back to school.  We have some more activities coming up outside of regular meetings.

Ladies Guild will have a meeting this coming Wednesday to nominate the merged board.  We have to vote on the by-laws either that night or another time. I just read what I think to be the by-laws and they seem pretty well to the point.  We have a few things coming up later this month and I still am nervous about it.

9          I am thankful for the weather.   Actually I am grateful for the AC in my bedroom this week.  We have had a heat wave going on and its brutal. We may be getting rain over the Labor Day weekend which would be nice but it has usually turned things humid afterwards.

10.      I am thankful for the men and women who choose to protect and serve their country and their citizens even at the worst possible times.    Enough said.
