Happy and Humid Friday

It is Friday again and it’s Humid.  It is overcast right now and it is expected to start raining around 1 and go for the rest of the day into the night.  If you have been following me for a while now I love weekend nights like that.  I am hoping more rain will revive the lawn a little more.

This is the beginning of the holiday weekend.  People are getting their yards done and preparing for the limited parties they may have this weekend.  Unfortunately right now feels like any other weekend to me.  I wonder if this is how retirees feel.   Well My hope is that this time next week I will be back in my office doing the job I have been doing for 18 years (I have been at the University for 28 years).  I still have a couple of things to do before I go back (classes and review).    I have been avoiding the emails like the plague.  I have until Wednesday to do them.

I had been missing my friend siduri’s postings lately so I sent her an email this morning.  I shared the family news, work related news, and my daily routine since the Pandemic started.   I also started another blog here.

I was all signed up for a class this morning but my friend JOC called yesterday to plan a walk this morning for 10.  Unfortunately the humidity put a kibosh on that idea. I will have to do my cardio at the gym before the day gets away from me.  I am signed up for class in the morning.

So far I have been writing and texting my family and friends, and on the blogs.  I am doing laundry and visiting my neighbors that I haven’t seen for a few days.    I probably will end up watching TV for most of the afternoon.

I do have some pen pals to write.  I need to get a move on with that.  I shouldn’t feel guilty about taking so long as my theory is I don’t write on other people’s schedule.   I had one guy tell me I should get off the site because I am not friendly enough.  When I responded for a second time he said stop writing him.  He was from the PENPALSNow.com site and some of the reviews are definitely mixed.

Well  have a great afternoon.

Another Gorgeous Day

It was another beautiful day.  The sun was shining and the temperatures went from 70’s to 80s by the afternoon.  There was a nice breeze at times.  I even got to sit outside for a meeting.  That’s until the woodchuck ran by me and under the back porch.  I went inside and sat in the back room.

In the morning I spent a lot of TV watching, snacking and then finally making the calls I was supposed with mixed results.  The various phones either had full mailboxes, not accepting calls, or not answering at all.

The union meeting was talking basically about returning to work and potential layoffs or reassigning for now.  I am not sure what this means for me.  We also were discussing the rioting and protesting but overall the racism.

I learned that one of the Doctors who were Dean of the Clinical Affairs a long time ago had passed away.  I had heard his name over the years but I can’t remember if I had actually met him.

I put a chair in the car for tomorrow night’s meeting for the ladies guild.  I will be bringing my laptop so I can do notes.

I just discovered there is no online coffee talk this week as I was worried about going to it.  They are having an event tomorrow night in North Branford.  There is a waiting list.   The virtual Trivia is still on for Thursday night.   They have an activity on Saturday afternoon.  I am so definitely going to that one in Niantic to the Niantic Boardwalk.

The hiking/walking with Friends group is doing a virtual walk of some kind.  It looks interesting.  It has two people signed up already but again it’s at the same time as the ladies guild.  I hope sometime they will have a day time hike soon.

Well it looks like I have the bed to myself tonight.  Tiger (who is being ultra-snotty) is in the guest room or was until I hugged her.    Sky is in the closet of my old bedroom.

Lovely

We Got email today from Human Resources extending the work from home deadline to June 1, 2020.  I will have to find many things to do in that time.  I haven’t started the ones I wanted to do yet.

I received a call from the Hematologist and the INR number went down further.  So I have to stop the shot and take a 1 ½ Tabs tonight.  I lost my temper because she acted as though he told me to stop the shots.  There has got to be better communication because he didn’t say that I had to stop this week.   I thought he said eventually.   I can’t have salads for now until the INR level is a therapeutic level.

I ordered wings for tonight and they came at 5 so I knew they would need to be reheated so I put them in the micro and reheated s the time for the coffee talk approached.  While I waited I took care of the garbage.

I was the second person to arrive in the chat.  G was getting ready and as everyone arrived some had a hard time connecting and staying connected.  The one thing we promised not to discuss was discussed but we also talked about health in general and things we are doing to keep busy.  Cooking, online classes and ways to get masks, and of course pets were among the topics.  We ended a little early and that’s okay. Tomorrow is the Trivia game and will be for an hour.
I was hoping the titans would come down and make an appearance but the only who came down and avoided it was Sky.  I think my loud voice startled him.  Tiger just came down and got up here and backed down.

I received an unexpected surprise in the mail today.  It was a letter from my Pen pal Missy.  She sent me a few stickers and they were all sad faces.  I am not entirely sure what that’s about.  I need to read it some more before I answer it.

I don’t think I will be doing too much now.  I am getting tired and I have to get up early for the hematology visit.  They apparently sent renewal of the warfarin to Walgreen’s.  These people are really pissing me off.  I am sure I told them I changed Pharmacies.

Ides of March

Good Morning!  I always heard “the Ides of March” and thought it meant something.  In older Roman Calendars it was the deadline for romans to pay their debts.  It also was the day Julius Caesar was assassinated.    It must have some significant meaning in my family because I seem to remember my parents mentioning it a few times over the years.

In all the Pandemonium yesterday I had not realized yesterday was PI day.  There was only one reference to it on FB.  I would love to have some pie but I made so many promises that I need to keep them. I wouldn’t also waste pies either.  It was interesting taking a few moment s to read about it.

I had a nose bleed last night.  That’s never a good sign.  It wasn’t long but it usually means I will be getting sick or something. Yay, this will be fun.

Well my latest chewy order will be delayed a few days.  I received an email just before midnight apparently (Just noticed it this morning) apparently a lot of people have been ordering.  Frustrating especially after telling Mama I have enough kitty and litter for the titans.  I have a lot of kibble canned maybe.

We did our regular routine this morning and they are quietly hanging around..  its dark still so I could hear them get up on the counter and try to get more food out of the very small can.  As a result it fell on the floor.  It is now in the recycle bin.  When it fell it sounded like one of my med bottles and for a moment I had a vision that it opened and they could be in danger.  I am pleased to say no.

Since my plans for today have changed somewhat I am going to venture out to the grocery store and see what I can get.  As I mentioned yesterday I believe I have enough cleaning supplies and I don’t need water the tap will be fine.  Food wise I need some beefy stuff; I have enough frozen type fish maybe get vegetables, and start using the salad fixings.  As A said get only what I need.  I have some yogurt but that is not going to last me.  Maybe some frozen fruit.

I have signed up for a foundation class this morning and I don’t want to bail again.  I haven’t received any email alerts or messages indicating the gym will close but as I said the trainers are all expecting it to happen just not sure when.

I haven’t checked my work email for today but I seriously doubt that that we will get a response from the University to shut down today.  Oh well…it looks like starting tomorrow we will either get the emails or phone calls to either work remotely, or not come  in.  I must be stupid because I don’t know if I am essential or not.  Some of our union reps suggested we call or text our supervisors and ask about tomorrow.  I sent a message to patty and she hasn’t heard anything yet.

I also baled like I said I would for class.  I still have 6 hours before it closes for the day.

It's Like a Ghost town

I had every intention of going to class this morning at the gym.  THis would be my third day of missing it. Well I am going tonight after my session with Debra.  I stayed in bed until 5 the kitties were starting to get agitated. I did the morning ritual. I got up again after a while and started getting ready....I decided that I would take the shuttle in.

I barely made the shuttle and I was the only one the first stop.  The second step the regulars were there. I got to the office at 20 of and did the mail pick up (GA has today off and she told me late yesterday afternoon).  The office seems rather quiet or more like a ghost town today. I would think everyone would want to take next MOnday off. Its commencement weekend and I think it will start to get busy sometime soon.  I may take the shuttle in on Monday myself.

Not going to be able to meet with Debra today.  So we will have a phone session tomorrow afternoon after the visit from Handyman.  I got a text from her earlier today and so we agreed to the phone session (the other recommendation was to meet at lunch and I couldn’t).

So yesterday is becoming a blur.  Part of the reason was I had a headache for most of the day.  I realized after having an interesting conversation with a coworker that it was the carbs, and sugars I have been having lately (not to mention) i can’ have earphones on anymore because the music is loud.  I have turned it down but I still had the headache.

Spent a good chunk of the day working on scanning after the mail was done early.  I was quite surprised to see a large box instead of the normal ones we get for Thursday.  I was able to finish by mid afternoon. I went back to the scanning and got a lot done. It looks like we will be caught up by the beginning of next week which would mean that could work on refunds as well.

I went home relaxed and made dinner for kitties and I and then spent the rest of the evening updating files and organizing said files.  I ended up not going to the gym (again) and watched the NCIS marathon. I also watched The Big Bang Finale. I always get teary eyed when I know a show is ending.  It was okay but I don’t watch it often.

Had a visit from a 4th District member who thought the meeting was last night!  Are you that fucking stupid???? If he did his partner would be there (maybe) and dressed better than he was.  I told him no its next week. Do you not get your emails? He and partner not going to be there (gee what a surprise) so they dropped off stuff for the  Annual Dinner. After he left I called Chairman Phil and left him a message. Hasn’t called me back or texted me. I don't want to hold on to this stuff.  I already thought I lost it last night.

Well we got the first of two rain showers.  This one isn’t supposed to last long and neither is the one at 6.   I have to say I am glad I am going home earlier than I normally do tonight.  This time I will get to the gym and then do grocery shopping.

Feeling pretty good the last couple of days

I spent about five hours working on the mail yesterday and about two hours on Scanning.  That’s not what made me feel pretty good.  Today spending the morning scanning and afternoon on the mail.  I think feeling accomplished and making some headway with scanning.

I had a great conversation with EV regarding union committee stuff and it was reaffirmation that I do belong there (she felt bad that she didn’t have me talk to my assigned group.  I didn’t mind it but I watched the others there so I could be a little more confident in my approach.

For the last few days GA/Gargoyle and I have been getting along.  She pointed out a few things to me about the new location (new rules etc) and keeping things cleaned and tidy.  I made sure things were cleaned at the end of the day.

As the end of the academic year approaches I have noticed that the city seems to be transitioning from busy scholastic energy to summertime energy.  Traffic didn’t seem bad getting out of the city as in the past.  Of course it will change.

I haven’t been to the gym since Tuesday but I did manage to walk a mile on Wednesday.  The last two days haven’t been to the gym but keeping track of food.  I feel I did pretty well not grazing but realizing some choices not so good.   I have no idea if I will be doing the In-body or not but I am pretty sure I will be doing some rowing machine and lots of cardio.

The sun came out late this afternoon.  It allowed me to put some stuff out to the curb for bulk pick up.  The vacuum cleaner from the attic (and even got the titans preoccupied while I did this).  I put the upright vacuum cleaner out too.  I actually need to make a list of other things.  Next door will put the gas grill out some time before next week.  While I was up in the attic I noticed some other stuff that could be thrown out unless it could be recycled.  I emailed both my nephew and my sister about ideas.

I made Shrimp for dinner and it was great.  Still have to clean the kitcen tomorrow but for now I am going to bed.

Been Busy

This week has seemed busy to me.  Work wise, and otherwise.  I told you we had scanning issues this week and happily they have been resolved and now I am trying to play catch up with that.  I think I am doing okay with it.  AC goes on vacation as of today and I will be focusing on the scanning while DG will do the mail.

The department I have been writing about is moving in as I write this.  I had to promise GA that I would be careful while they were moving in.  I know that sounds beyond ridiculous on some levels but I will leave it at that.

Yesterday we learned that the entire CBO is moving across town in the Newhallville section of town.  Part of the department (Registration/PT services/collections) was there a long time ago.   Since hearing the news I have been trying to figure out transportation.  However, I was reminded that it will take until 2020 before we actually get there.  I was trying to figure out places to eat (not many).  All the things you think about when changes occur.

We were informed this past week that the stealing at the office has been resolved.  More security precautions have been implemented and from what i was told it wasn’t coworkers.  We were reminded to lock things when we leave at anytime and don’t leave valuables etc around.  They won’t say who it was but they can’t.

I didn’t make it to the gym last night.  (Insert excuses here).  I realize I won’t be able to do that starting Monday since the challenge starts.  I broke down and had a couple pieces of cake today.  I did go for half mile walk at lunchtime.  I did a walk at lunch.  Noticed the city was getting ready for the Bike GRand prix.  The city was going to close traffic down at 1 in some parts of the route but the actual ride starts at 4.  During the commuter traffic.  Not the most brilliant of ideas.

Debra and I decided that we would have a phone session instead of an office visit because of the race.  So i just finished a nice session with her.  It was a great session.  We talked about the fact I wanted to be so busy and once i am i feel a little overwhelmed.  We didn’t go as far as to say i need to find balance but I think we implied it.

I had shrimp scampi for dinner from Scribner’s.  I was trying to get to their website and I ended up on something that I had almost got in trouble with a virus.  I backed out of it quickly.  So nothing has happened that I can see.

I think I better get ready for bed.

Just waiting

It was a cold and sunny Tuesday and I waited.  I waited for my sister to come home  (she forgot to text me).       I waited to see if we would be not working today.  We got some confusing emails but finally a text came out and says we are closing at noon today.

I just realized I did something I may regret.  In Monday’s  entry I talked about the store down the street that had severe wind damage and I literally put in my address in the map.  I should not have done that.

Tuesday I spent the day doing scanning and the mail.  It seemed to take forever then again it usually does. Tuesdays came early but it was taking so long.   I finally finished the mail for both days by the time I was leaving today.  I will have normal stuff tomorrow.

I had my session with Debra and by the time I sat in her office I grew tired.  We had a good session I told her about the highlights of the past two weeks.  We also talked about the things that are in reality stressing me out.  The pen pal stuff, the ladies guild stuff, and DTC, and of course a few bills.  She told me I don’t have to do the things that are stressing me out.

After the session I headed home not before making a stop at Shoprite for a couple of things.  Onions and the Kodiak pancake Mix.  The latter was recommended by Alex.  He says to add the protein drink in it and it's much better.  Anyway it was slightly crazy in there.  I was glad to be out of there and at home.

I ended up not going to the Ladies guild.  I had some dinner and then did a few things and watched TV and then went to bed.  The kitties followed.

Today the snow started off slow and it turned to rain for  a time and then stopped.   But by 11 it started up again and it hasn’t stopped.  I can hear the wind a little bit now.   We did have a power flicker but some of the TV channels were not coming in on the small TV.

I made some lunch and called Liz.  I had spoken to her via text/IM earlier she had been home nearly 12 hours by then.  She was catching up with the things that gathered and collected while she was in SC.

I do have some Great news.  Nearly ten days ago my nephew Chris and his lady Jen got married in NC.   They are now looking to buy a new house and that was one  of the many things they did while Liz was down there.  She had a great time.  Spent time with the kids.  Now she is probably sleeping.

After I got off the phone with her I wasn’t really ready to do any cooking that I was planning on doing so I got online and played games and watched a surprising NCIS marathon on Oxygen.  That is until the cable started getting wonky.  It came back about 8:30.

Around 4 I made the turkey meatloaf and the chicken burgers.  In each of them I did something slightly different then was was called for.  I tried it and it was slightly dry (the meatloaf).  The kitchen has been cleaned.

The snow is going strong still.  There seems to be a lot.  The plow came through earlier this evening.   I think it will come again later on during the night and before daybreak.

Monday Musings

Well today is Mom and Bob’s Birthday and Bob and Ethel’s wedding anniversary.  FB posted a memory from 2 years ago and it was my Birthday wish for them.  I shared it and as always my FB family and friends all liked and commented.  It came to me that when I saw the rabbits it was Mom coming for a visit.  I had seen two one night at the edge of the yard.

I don’t like admitting this but I sometimes wonder if my folks and brother are looking down and watching me.   I do wonder what they think of my choices and decisions that I have made about the keeping up of the house and of myself and of the cats.  She knew long before her health declined that I would get pets.  She even asked me in one of her moments of clarity.

Well another super bowl came and went and the Philadelphia Eagles won.  The game finished just around 10.  I didn’t watch it but saw the updates on MSN and of course FB when I got on line last night.   The sports reporters were already reporting on it at 10:15.  There was subdued and mixed reactions to the spectacle.  By the end of the day I heard that some of the fans trashed both the Minneapolis city and Philadelphia city.  What?  Just because you can afford to go to the game you think you can vandalize places, things that don’t belong to you?  Piss off!  As a few others have mentioned alcohol shouldn’t be sold at sporting events and I agree People can be stupid.  My hope is that all those people who trashed the cities are made to pay for the cleanup and repairs.

Now the next sports spectacular will be Basketball both College and Professional (March Madness anyone?) Ice Hockey, and then Baseball.  Yeah I know.  The Olympics.  Let’s hope there aren’t any more scandals in that one.  Yeah I know of a few going on already.

Work was fine.  I spent a lot of time scanning and it was going along just fine until the last hour.  Some of the batches didn’t clear and I did the big Treasury batch over again.  We discovered it was done. Sigh.

In the afternoon I worked on the mail but was unable to deliver it (I still have to finish sorting and batching).  We did get some news regarding FMLA.

There is a new procedure for FMLA there is an outside vendor we have to contact for setting up our leave and no matter how many times I read it I get confused.  I am going to send a copy to the Dr. for her files.   Will ask Siduri about it soon.

Sadly my friend Denise K lost her Mom Dotty today.  She hadn’t been feeling well lately and so many things were happening.    It must have happened late this afternoon as the Team Leads knew it at 4.  Denise posted it this evening (that’s when I found out and called LC).  Dotty used to work in the Registration dept. when it first moved over to the building.  Dotty was one of many people I could talk easily with.   She retired almost five years ago.

I still haven’t mailed the “Secret Sister gift to my “Secret Sister”.  I am pretty sure Kitty is pissed.  I tried but it was getting too late for the post office.  I can’t do it tomorrow.  I will write more in my pen pal blog.

I heard from Liz today.  One of the tests she had indicates she doesn’t have a blood clot.  I am thankful for that.  She has more to take and waiting on the others need to be read.  I don’t know if this means if she will be able to go to SC or not.

She isn’t the only in our sibling court that isn’t feeling well.  I sent a message last night to Jim to see how his story reading went and he replied that he was in bed and he probably will read next month.  I sent him another message this morning and he said Dopey.  I made a bad seven dwarf reference (in lite of Snow white was on the TV last night).  I can’t help but worry about him.

The kitties got a special treat today.   I let them into my old bedroom for the day.  They were there until I got home tonight.  I was getting a little worried about Sky he has been very vocal for the last two days and I am trying to figure out what it was.  He would walk around and come as far as my door.  I put him on the bed and he did explore it for a while and then he rubbed his head against mine.  Now I think he may be downstairs-he’s been quiet.   Tiger has also been a little vocal too and I think her reason is for hunger.  I fed them when I got home and she didn’t finish the kibble.  I did give them both a treat to tide them over until tomorrow.

Well I am going to do some crossword puzzles and then hit the sack as tomorrow is going to be a long day.

Busy Weekend

I am glad last night was a fairly quiet night.  I did some laundry and had dinner and watched TV for a while.  I didn’t get on the computer much.  I was getting tired.

I did get an invitation to the Municipal Inauguration next Tuesday at Parson’s complex.  Its early but it lasts two hours.  Everyone who was elected to boards and commissions and offices of Mayor and CIty Clerk will be sworn in.  I have gone every year since our Mayor was elected.

I also got two phone calls.  One was from the woman who ordered five tickets and reserved a table for the AUction tomorrow night.  She wanted to give me her phone number.  She was flighty.  As of our conversation she didn’t receive the tickets.  I mailed them out Sunday.  I told her to call me if she didn’t get them.

The other call was from the Cardiologist’s office they needed to change the appointment in December to January 2 (the day we come back to work).  I believe it's 2 in the afternoon.  Will have to call them and confirm.

So why is it a busy weekend?  For me we are setting up tonight and tomorrow for the Ladies Guild Auction and Dinner.  YOu have read it's our biggest fundraiser of the year.  I need to get money to do the raffles!  It starts at 6:30 tomorrow night and it should be fun.  I think I will wear the purple pantsuit I just got out of the cleaners.

In New Haven the city and the University is preparing for the biggest sports event of the year.  The annual Yale VS Harvard game is tomorrow afternoon.  It's been featured on at least one news station (the only one I watch) and it's been bantered about around at work.  Handsome Dan 18 will be there too.  He is the 1 year 48 lb Mascot for Yale.  It certainly will tie up traffic around the Bowl not sure if downtown will be affected by this or not.  Maybe for those who come in from out of town.  What I mean by that is if they go to the local businesses during the weekend.  I just hope the rain that’s before predicted holds off.

Sunday morning will be grocery shopping and some letter writing before going off to Bingo and perhaps go to church.  Then of course it's getting ready to go back work.

It's supposed to be fall right?

It is October 10th and and at 6:15 in the morning according to the thermostat on the fan in my window it was  70 degrees out.   But when I got in the car it said 62.  IT was still warm.   It actually won’t be like this for much longer when I looked at one of the weather sites it said the temperatures will go to normal for this time of year.

Last night was semi productive.  I rearranged some of my clothes and closets.  I have a rather large bag with clothes that are either stained or ripped or too big to wear.  I put my summer clothes in the spare room (my old bedroom) and rearranged the closets in my bedroom.

Right after that I sat down and signed in for Dia.com and it was fairly easy.  I was expecting a whole bunch of questions and I didn’t get them until this morning.  That also didn’t take long.  I hope I chose okay.  But as Ann says if I don’t like it then send it back.  They will let me know when they send it and all.  I have to say there were some pictures of women who chose stuff that just didn’t look good for them.  I just hope I don’t look crazy in these clothes.

This morning I finished yesterday’s mail and delivered and then spent the next hour and half working on scanning.  Spent the rest of the morning working on re-address mail until today’s mail arrived.  Post office mail is usually-I say usually light but with the postal holiday yesterday its anyone’s guess.

The committee meeting for our office was cancelled because of scheduling conflict with a wellness activity.  We have a mandatory Area Committee meeting next Thursday in a different location.

It was observed by a couple of people today that several management/supervisorial reps were dressed up more than usual.  It has peaked the interest of us and some of us a little nervous.

Tomorrow is Founders day here at the University.  There is a celebration at cross campus between 11:30 and 1:30 (not sure).  I know I can’t make it.  THere is the mail to finish from today (Health logic delivery didn’t come) and I expect it tomorrow.  I have lots of other things to do as well.  I hope it goes well for the coordinators.

I spoke to Mama Roberta on the way home from work tonight.  SHe has been really busy with her part time job and and so that’s why i didn’t get a hold of her last night.  We talked about my ongoing mess with the insurance/title and whatever.  We are going to talk tomorrow night as well.

When I got home the kitties were waiting for me.   I gave them their kibble and  cleaned out their litter box and then did their own thing.  I sat down for a while and read the mail and had the TV on.

I got a bill from the insurance company for $54 (i think that’s the increase for the new payment.  I set that up for payment (I hope it works this time) and hopefully the rest of the bill comes.

Well its time for the Ladies guild...cya later.

Long Term Service Breakfast

Today was the Med School’s Long Term Service Breakfast held at the  Child STudy  Center .  A fairly  large delegation from the office went.  It was a buffet of all breakfast stuff.  Muffins, doughnuts, bagels, etc.  THis was a big challenge for me as Courtney asked me to snap a picture of the buffet and show her what I was going to be facing.  SHe would be there via text to help me choose even though we went over the list  at our last visit.  WE will discuss it at our session tomorrow.  It was  a continental breakfast and there were many there who were less than appreciative for it.    Throughout the day i heard many times they were expecting pancakes, sausage, bacon.  I was not only getting annoyed but disgusted because well... They didn’t have to do this.  You want a full on breakfast?  Go to a restaurant.

I wore  my black and blue floral dress .  Even though it was  cool temperatures.  I expected the  temperatures to go up later.   I felt really good and chilled by the time I arrived to the office.  I received many compliments.    I was the only one there for the 25th.  Again many were not invited but i think it had to do with how their anniversaries fell.  Some didn’t get invited.  Do I need to tell you some people bitched about that too?

The rest of the day was spent on mail the readdress mail took a lot of time and energy and  I wasn’t able to finish the regular mail (I don’t usually on Tuesday lately anyway) .  It will be done tomorrow.  I feel as though I didn’t get a whole lot done.  Again.

Today was also looking back over the years as Yale Medicine celebrated an anniversary of its own.  The many inceptions of our department from OPS, PFS, PFAS, and Yale Medical Group to Yale Medicine.  There were many people that came to work.  SR has been working on a project of sorts that will be done in pictures (I am hoping she will display it somewhere)  There were pictures of us celebrating holidays, milestones, and of course retirements.    There was soo many and in some of them  we noticed we hadn’t changed much.  Some of us did  but not all.

Earlier this week I decided that I would indeed go to Terri’s Retirement party next Thursday.  I have worked with her for all these years and she has been a good friend to me through it all.  I could go to her and talk to her about anything.

I did attend the weekly committee meeting.  The unions are having  membership drives.  Encouraging people to get active in the union.  Local 33 is going to be preparing for more members to join (including more departments to register).  Hopefully they are a little more successful in their goals then they were last year.

Tonight was the ladies guild board meeting and I was late (go figure).  We are preparing for our ladies guild Tea next week and the two new parish priests will be attending and main speakers.  It will also the night where I will finish the search for the rest of the nominating committee for next years officers election.  I will have to walk around and get people to volunteer for this.  I asked people there for advice and they gave it to me.  I need a couple of things before the nominating committee starts to meet.  I asked when is a good time to schedule meetings.  SB said the dead of winter.

I also volunteered to be in charge of the auction tickets (assigning the books to all those who sell them and take the final money.  It's just like I did last year.    We will be selling them at the coffee and ...sessions after  the november 5 masses .   It should be fun.  I am worried about the  whole  Nominating committee thing though.

I drove by the Campaign headquarters a couple of times this week and both times it was dark and empty.  I find this disconcerting  but apparently people  have been there doing the lawn signs and working at the palace.  Just not me.  On the weekends I need to concentrate on cooking and other things.  We were told that if we want to come down and volunteer we need to call.     One of the candidates posted that  someone destroyed signs on his mother’s lawn recently and asked people not to do that.  People suggested t

I don’t remember if I  mentioned yesterday that I received an invite to a campaign fundraiser.  It's going to be held at the bridgehouse restaurant on Wednesday.  That’s good because I was afraid it would conflict with the retirement party I am going to.  But as I said this and district meetings are all I have done this year.

I heard from Dr. T last week.  She was wondering if Had received any more bank statements for the club. Surprisingly I haven’t in what seems like a few months.  The ones I do have I need to take them to her husband so he can bring them with him to Florida in a week  when he goes for a visit.  I  have to make some time to do that in the next couple of days.

I am still waiting for the DMV to send me the Title to the 2002 car.  I really wish they would send it.  So I can send it on to  the Insurance company.  I actually got something from the financing company today.  It was about privacy.  When I saw it I thought it was a statement already.

I haven’t heard from anyone in the penpal world since Sunday.    I was going to  reply to a couple of emails but I am starting ot fall asleep while writing so it will have  to wait until tomorrow.  I am planning another volley of update letters to the rest of my pals.  To see if they want ot continue or not.

I had more of the stew today..it was a little watery from freezing.  I may have to add something to make it thicker.  I still want to try the other stew that had wine in the recipe.  However, Kim suggested I use beef broth instead.  I also found a couple of wonderful Roast Beef recipes that I am anxious to try.  One you have to sear before putting in the cooker and the other you don’t.

Tiger is sitting beside me on the sofa again.  I am hoping she will join us for a third night in a row.  When I got up this morning at 5:30 she had already left...Sky waited for me.   I have a feeling sky is in the printer room.

Finally I am so excited to welcome back hawk_soaring  to the blogosphere.  She has been missed.

Good night all.

Last Day of Vacation

Considering that today is my last day of vacation.   I am going to make sure things that were not done (housework mostly) are done...
