its Saturday

Good morning, all!  It’s Saturday and I have been up for a few hours now.  I have done a couple of errands already.  I finally got to the can recycling place and man It was busy, but I managed to get through it.  Someone was kind enough to let me ahead of her (she had so many).  It didn’t take long after that.

I went to the credit union to check to see if I could remember my pin number.  For several weeks now I have been having a hard time remembering.  It worked today.  I made a note on my phone to remember the next time I needed it.

So, I had a great time at the rally on Thursday.  I was waiting for my ride to come and while I was waiting a security guard came to talk to me.  He had been there always, and I have a feeling he wanted to ask me out.  I was relieved when EV arrived.  We picked up our friends/colleagues down the street and then headed to downtown New Haven.

We parked by the Union Hall and walked to the green.  Running into people I haven’t seen in a while (except maybe from FB).  The speeches were long but necessary.  I don’t remember what time we started to finally march down Chapel Street, and we went about 1 mile or more when we decided to jump off and have dinner at Rudy’s.

While we were there, we talked about lots of stuff between work, and TV shows (which would have been up my alley except) the ones they like are Handmaiden Tales and other shows that are on Hulu and Netflix.  Either of them I don’t want to spend the money on.

The subject of retirement came up and they asked me when I said eventually, and they realized, and they are right up to a point.  I would be bored. If I wasn’t working.  They also gave me advice on the debt I do have.

Even though there was a discussion I couldn’t help feeling that I was being talked over and around.  I love them but they have so much energy.

It was time to head back to the car, so we walked back, saying goodbye to Gina and Veronica.  EV dropped me at the office, and I headed out.  I can’t remember what route I took but I was home by quarter of nine.

I fed Sky and did a few things and then by 9:15 I was in bed.  I was tired and my body was thanking me in it.

Friday was a good day.  It started off with rain and eventually the sun came out.  It lasted all day.  This morning continued but that will change later today.

There weren’t that many of us in the office.  The supervisor came in to work for the day and I had a feeling he would, and I told him so.  I spent the morning doing the daily stuff.  By Mid-morning I was looking for something to do.  So, I spent the rest of the day updating calendars and writing.  Cleaning out emails.  Pretty much stuff that I shouldn’t be doing at work.  That’s why I look forward to Mondays and Thursdays for now.

Friday night was quiet for the most part.  I had done some chores and by 9 or so I was in bed.  I had a great sleep.

Right now, I’m getting a few things done.  Before I totally gave up on the day.  I am not going to the march tonight.  Its suppose to rain.  I also need to get ready for the christening and reception.

I was right

I was right.  I didn’t fall asleep until it was about the time to get up.  I got up fed Sky and went back to bed until it was time to get ready for work.  I spent most of my time in a fog and tried to have a couple of cups of coffee.  By the end of the day, I was just as tired.

I had my session with Debra, and it wasn’t the entire time either.  She is still having issues with the connection.  She said she would go to IT and get it replaced.   It was kind of irritating to me, but it has happened to all of us.

We talked about the situation with Liz and how to handle it if something comes up at the Celebration next week.  She did also say not really planned anything out.  In other words, I think she was telling me not to stress but at that time set boundaries.  We also talked about finances.  (that one will be for another post too).

After the session, I fed Sky and myself, watched very little TV and cleaned up a little.  Very little truthfully.  I got into my pajamas and had some tea.  I got into bed (had to be about 7) and eventually fell asleep.

I think I was in a deep sleep for most of the night except for the bathroom runs.  I missed my nighttime meds, but it allowed me to sleep until 4:30 this morning.  I do need to take them now before too long.

I made time to put tomato sauce in the crockpot.  I will put it in the freezer when I get home tonight.   I also have other things to cook (they are in the freezer but not sure I will have the time to do it.

Tonight is the meetup at Shoreline Diner.  These girls are absolutely wonderful.  They have helped me and each other through so many things.  They also developed a book club for the entire group.  It will be in Madison.  They were working hard at it (actually G and F was last night).   We have two brunches coming up in the same weekend (mothers day) that should be fun.

Another Weekend has arrived

Hey everyone!  Its another beautiful Weekend.  It’s been a normal Saturday so far.  I slept in until 8 after getting up and feeding Sky.  I am slowly getting stuff cleaned up and hopefully it will be done by the end of the day.

When I started this entry last week I didn’t sleep well.  I think I started it at 3 am on Tuesday morning.  It made the rest of the day very long.  I manage to get through the day with no incidence.

The rest of the week I slept better.  That is until Thursday my legs were acting weird.  That means I didn’t drink enough water earlier in the day.  I got up and did the bathroom breaks.  Sky was right there every night.

The only Medical/Doctor appointments I had were with Debra and my OB/GYN appointment yesterday.  For My session with Debra, we had to have phone session.  The Zoom still is elusive.  Hopefully next week we will give it ago.  During the OB/GYN she says I have a yeast infection and gave me some Nystatin powder.  She also recommends seeing a dermatologist and nutritionist.  I will see her in a year.

The Ladies Guild Board Meeting was on Tuesday.  It went well.  We discussed mostly the Auction in December.  We also talked about the general Meeting this coming Tuesday.  Our speaker is Susan B from Purple Pantry Box.  We are to bring a donation to the boxes.  I signed up to sell Tickets to the Auction in November.  I thought we were going to start this weekend, but I didn’t get a reminder.  I am going to go to church tomorrow and see if we are doing it.

Work went well this week.  I managed to get a lot of scanning done but that will be fleeting because every week more comes in.  I am thinking that AC is returning from FMLA this week.  It will be great to see her.  Oh, the gnat infestation is gone.

We do not have any committee meetings until the 17th.  EV is helping her mom while her mom recovers from hip surgery.

The Girls from Finding Friends had a VP Debate party on Tuesday.  They had a great time.  We got together on Wednesday at the Diner for our Midweek gathering.  There were 5 of us.  Kathy from New Britina, and another girl who came a long time ago pre Covid.

They are planning on going to Stoneybrook Brewery, for a party.  I won’t be going.  We are already thinking of Christmas movies for the holiday.

Tomorrow afternoon I am heading OS to spend the afternoon with LauraG.  She is having surgery on Monday.  She asked me to come spend time  her after the surgery for the next few weekends that I am not doing bingo.  However, the one for the 20th I can’t because I will be in Allentown.

Things around the complex are good.  Next-door Don came home earlier this week from his Myrtle beach trip.   He says he is done with vacations for now.  He told me that unit 7 has been sold but they don’t know how much.  Unit 31 is up for sale as well.  There is a board meeting on October 9.

I haven’t seen any turkey’s in quite some time.  Next-door says he saw them yesterday.  I probably wasn’t home for that one.   I did notice the chipmunks have been back too.

Jim has been home nearly a week from the nursing home.  He and Janis had a visit from DVP and her husband.  He has been going to the doctors all week for various reasons.  I will be going down on the 18th.

The kids at that end seem to be fine.  Emily has been posting various videos on Instagram.

Angel Brother’s family is busy.  Ethel (my sister-in law) Posted some pictures and memories of her time in the Philippines.  Diane has been performing in concerts to honor a few colleagues who passed away recently.

Her Brother John and Tiffany seem to be doing well.  In July they bought 130-year-old house and have been working with a contractor and they are having a blast.  This is reassuring to me,

Nothing on Rob.  Probably working.

Liz made it to SC last weekend.  Despite the false start.  She was just arriving into SC and the flight had to return to the State.   She went that night.  All Weekend she send me some pictures.  She came home Monday safely.

Her Grandson Bryan and his wife Gina welcome a baby Girl on Friday.  They haven’t made the official FB announcement.

The last couple of Days have been..

As you recall, we have had a gnat/fruit fly infestation at the office.  Guardian angel made calls and yesterday she was a complete bitch.  I snapped at her after she said some inappropriate things to me.    So, we barely spoke today.

I spent most of the afternoon scanning at work.  I think I did well, but I could be just kidding myself.  I am sure Supervisor Bob would have said something.  I had to show him a patient check I found under my desk that was nearly a year old.  I hadn’t seen it before and when I found it yesterday, I was afraid I would be in trouble.  He just reminded me to be careful in the future.

My friend Jennifer was having a really bad day yesterday, and I know I encroached on her space a couple of times.  It worked itself out, but she was just going to lose it all around.  The equipment was not working right (it was happening to a few of us).  There was also the fact that she was the source of the infestation.  She has had to clean out her desk for the last couple of days.

The ride home today was longer than it should be.  I suspect people were not comfortable with the drizzling rain.  It was annoying the crap out of me.  I had ordered Chinese food for 4:30 and I didn’t get it until 5.  It didn’t help that people cross the street wherever they wanted to.

I still haven’t found my ATM/debit card all week.  I have looked and looked all over the place.  I will try again in the car.  However, since my credit union is going through a Major upgrade/updating this week entire weekend.  I don’t want to do anything until they are done.  I am hoping if I continue to look again, I will find it somehow.

I was afraid I lost another credit card this week (seemed to do that a few times ths week) but luckily it was here at the house.

Well Hurricane Helene is messing up with my sister’s plans to go to South Carolina tomorrow.  It’s currently heading to Florida at a Category 4 and is predicted to head towards part of North Carolina (yes, I see the irony here).  She may get to go down, but the return trip may be a challenge.

Hey, I saw the new season of TOH tonight.  The first ten minutes was men. Then it got into the groove.  I missed a little bit of it but it will be on Saturday morning.  At the end they mention their family losses. Russell Morash, the creator of this Old House and Ask this  Old House and Roger Cook, the resident landscaper who stepped back from the show three seasons ago.

Well, I am starting to get tired and I took ZZZQuil tonight and I hope it will kick in soon.

Quite a week

All week long I have been training JT to do my job while on vacation.  Unfortunately, JT is overwhelmed.  She has insecurities that are making it hard for her to do this.  At times I can’t help feeling that she is using it as an excuse.  It makes me feel I am not doing what I am supposed to.

We had a surprise visit arranged by our finance dept lead, of Handsome Dan, The Yale Mascot. It was so sweet.  He loved the attention.  We didn’t get a picture.

THere are some administration/management level changes going on for YM and I don’t think they adversely affect the lower staff yet.  IT will be interesting to see in the future.

I start my vacation A week from today.  It's three weeks long (the longest I have taken excluding covid time).  My plans are to catch up on stuff at home, be available for LIz who is moving mid september, some doctor appointments and do day trips and visit with people who are free.

Monday night I had an accident.  I am physically okay but the car has some major dents.  I rear-ended a truck in front of me. I was watching traffic from another direction and thought he already left and he didn’t.  So I spent a couple of days dealing with that with insurance (they were awesome) and arranging rentals and getting repair appointments.

I went to the midweek meetup last night.  There was a small crowd and fun.  I brought food to eat and it fell and so I fed it to the seagull.  The forest park ranger heard me say something to the bird and came over with a  warning.

As I mentioned Liz and Nelson are in the final stages of moving to a unit in my complex.  We have had some interesting conversation and anticipation of the move.  They did it maybe at the beginning of spring into the summer.  THe officially on it today.

Everyone in their family is great.  They are finishing up the summer vacations and getting ready for school.  There is a Baptism coming up in October for Cheryl and Mike's Granddaughter.

Angel Brother’s family is okay.  SIL is in Manila for a time.  My Niece DIane is finished with Into the woods and is on vacation I think.  I am not sure what her next plans are.  My Nephew John and his family had to put their fur baby down earlier this month.

My Brother Jim and his family are for the most part good.  Jim is dealing with Parkinson’s these days.  Other than that they do some volunteering and work.

My health is steady right now.  MY blood pressure was a concern for the lupus doctor, and my Hemotologist was concerned about my iron... But they should be okay now.

Not the best start to the New Year

Most of January I had been sick with an upper Respiratory Infection. I had a persistent cough that has since subsided. Would try to go to work just to come home again several times. I was exhausted. For a short time I had an enlarged heart but I think its better. Now I have a bruise foot that has been hurting for a while….hope it goes away soon.

Last week we lost my 83 year old cousin. I am not sure how long he was sick. some of us found out by Facebook. I sent texts and emails to cousins that may not have heard. Apparently they did.

This week I will have to let Tiger Lilly cross the Rainbow bridge. We had her annual check up and she is not doing well. She is very underweight and her back leg isn’t doing well either. If you recall about a couple of years ago we discovered she had cancer. I was lucky to have her another year but now its time to let her go. On Thursday afternoon we will say good bye.

Lots Going on

First off an update on the trustee.  We heard from the new trustee a couple of weeks ago.  We all approved him to be temporary Trustee with the possible outcome to dissolve the trust because I can handle my own affairs.  We haven’t heard from him.  I am not sure how I feel about this.  He is submitting an application for temp trustee.. According to my sister he is not about the emotional part of the situation but the hard facts.

Still haven’t heard from the other lawyer LawyerBob#2.  The last I heard he was going to make a reapplication to the courts to get the accounting.  I am not holding my breath at all.  Neither am I going to go out of my way to call them.  Something tells me not getting any money after all.

Work has been good and busy.  I am now able to make time to get to the backlog of Denials that has been sitting on a desk.  I haven’t had any complaints so until I do I will try and do them daily.  Actually I got the sense SupervisorBob was disappointed and annoyed and I hate that feeling.

Local 33-Graduate students are now being recognized by Yale.  They have elections next week after the Thanksgiving recess.  In our own union there are some fights and issues that are coming up or are on the radar.

I went to my first HOA meeting last week regarding major projects coming up.  We have a final vote in January for the new budget.  There was a presentation made and I have a copy of the presentation that I am sending to Mama Roberta.  I will be sending it to the temp trustee if he wants it or not.  I will also send it to Liz and Jim.  We are probably going with the Save and spend later method that we have been doing for quite some time.

Carol in Unit 10 moved out last week and moved to Orange Assisted Living complex.  She called me the night before she was leaving to let me know.  It was very sweet.  I hope she will be happy there.

I had my first Ding Dong Ditch the week after Halloween.  I let the community know and they were not impressed.  I don’t foresee them doing anything about it really.  Unless it becomes a nuisance.

Jim and Janis are hosting Thanksgiving again this year.  I am leaving right after work.  I have asked Dave to watch the titans for me while I am gone.  I just have to feed them the night I leave.  I didn’t want to leave out food all day because it would be gone by dinner time.

Good News for Jim he is cancer free right now.  He will have to get tested again in a year (as it could come back again) but for now he is free of it all.

Janis is well and enjoying her job(s). They are very excited to have me come down.  I suspect and hope we will go to the Christkindlemarkt festival like we did last year.  I hope to get to see the kids during this holiday.

Liz and Nelson are still struggling with their health.  They are both finding it harder and harder to walk and have renewed the condo search.  She has been looking with some friends and showed them mine.  Her Doctors have reconsidered the use of medical Marijuana for her and the first time she used it she spent 9 hours in the hospital.  It was in cookie form. They apparently didn’t show her how much to take.  She had the whole cookie.  She said she had been struggling with the energy, pain, movement lately when she was having her infusion.

The rest of the family is doing well.  Miss Olivia was in a play last weekend and Grandma and Poppie went and saw it.  There was a celebration for my nephew Mike’s birthday.  Others took a holiday trip to Mickey Mouse.

I recently discovered that Angel Brother’s son Rob got married last year.  I had the opportunity to make friends and get acquainted with his wife Catherine.  I welcomed her to the family and told her I think of Rob often even though he has exiled himself from the family.

I haven’t seen my SIL EP but Liz did a few weeks ago and it was exhausting I am guessing but fun.

My Niece Diane and her husband did some traveling recently.  She had a long birthday celebration too.  I believe she is finished with Into the woods completely but I don’t know that for sure.

Earlier this month I fell in the shower.  I managed to puncture my lip and bruise my right side rib.  I took some time off after it happened.  I did go to urgent care on Election Night.  I got a tetanus shot.  For the most part it's almost healed.

There were some recent changes at DTC.  The secretary resigned and there is an interim secretary volunteering.  I don’t know the reasons but was informed of this through emails.  Chairman Justin Called me last week to update me on the Scholarship in Mom’s name.  Because it's been hard to get together we haven’t done any fundraising for it.  Which is usually our holiday gathering.  That’s coming up next month.

I had to miss the Ladies Guild meeting because of my fall but they have a few things coming up for the next several weeks.  Then we will have January, February off.  Start up again in March.

The meetups are going great.  Finding friends had a venue change this week because Shoreline will be closed.  The next event we have is December 3 to NY and the following weekend is our holiday party.

I haven’t done many other activities with the meetups though.

Hi All

When I started this I was sitting working on mailing claim forms from work and have another hour of it.  There seemed to be a lot for a Friday. Work has been going well lately.   I am keeping up with the mail flow a little better.  Some days the volume is light and some days not so much.

More departments are returning to the building in hybrid mode.  THe communications dept for the university moved into the second floor this past spring/winter.  We barely see them but we have been getting their mail a little more.

The Union across the campus has just voted a large amount of money (I am not against it) to support Local 33 in their continuing bid to be recognized as a union.  My area team (the people I update on activities) didn’t show up to the meeting (it was via zoom).  I am frustrated and disappointed.  THese were not the only things we focus on the larger scale.  There are a few fights brewing but I don’t have all the info to understand and to explain it.

We had our monthly birthday lunch yesterday. It was for AC and myself and we had pizza and pie.  It was great.  I will be starting my vacation on my birthday so I won’t be here for nine days.

They haven’t hired anyone for backup to me, AC and another team because they don’t want to come in and work (they would rather work at home).  I am not worrying about it.  I will make sure my desk will be cleaned off enough so that I can work it all when I get back.  I am still expected to work during the Christmas Recess in December.

Home life is good. I paid my condo taxes. really stumbled as far as finances but I'm back on track. We had our first in person meet and greet at the clubhouse last week and it went very well.   It was well attended.  However there is one night will not be seeking out she's a b****.

Just found out my next door neighbor unit 10 is leaving and moving to senior housing here in town.  I feel like a horrible neighbor.

We are now having monthly Association meetings but they are on Tuesday at 10 am.  2nd Tuesdays.  The first one was two hours.  The only time I will be able to attend is vacation days or when I retire.

When I started this some time so I was all set to tell you I was fine but that changed this past week.  My BP has been really high and a concern for a few doctors.  I almost didn't have my infusion this past week but in the end I was.  Long story short I am currently on BP medicine and there hasn't been a huge change yet.  I even had to get a BP kit and am still trying to figure even with instructions how to do it.

I'm also set for a follow up with pcp and a very overdue physical. It's been two years since I saw him.

I have reintroduced the cpap machine into my life.  I have had it since June.  It's been good.

The cats are doing well.  No longer under VCA shoreline. Care. but with the original vet and they have been great.  Weaning Tiger off predinilsone.  She seems good.  Still limping, the vet feels she will be like this until the end of life.  Which is well into the future.

They have been surprising me in their choices in where they sleep and cuddle.  They still are picky about meals.

I had a visit from Jim and Janis in June and was very pleased with my home.  They were up for Jim's college reunion.  They went up for dinner and came back the same day. Janis and I went to Trader Joe's while Jim slept in.

Janis tells me the closest one is in the Philadelphia area.  So she was very excited to go.

All their kids are doing well.  Emily is settling in San Diego.

Angel brothers family is doing well.  Niece Diane has been performing into the woods.  She also earned a telly award.

John and his family move back down to the lower 48.  He is officially retired from the US Army.

Rob remains elusive as usual.

SIL Ethel keeps herself busy.  I only know this through Facebook.

Been enjoying the Finding friends group.  This summer.  We had picnics. The beach meetups. Sadly, GC and her husband lost their 17 year old  sphynx cat unexpectedly.

We have many activities coming up throughout the fall season.

I haven't done anything with Funtime friends this summer.  I backed off a couple of activities that I really wanted to attend but ended up being too much.

My friend Joan wants me to take over her Milford walking  group.  I did let her know I was interested.

Not sure if she heard me.

I had a visit from mama Roberta early in June.  She stayed with another friend but we got together a few times.  She was also pleased with the condo.

She has been doing some traveling coast to coast and to Alaska.

This weekend heard from Dr T.  Shared some pictures of husband with fur babies.

I haven't been too active with the DTC this summer but campaign season ramping up.  We have out campaign headquarters near chips automotive about 4 miles from here.

The ladies guild is having a welcome dinner on September 13.  Some of our activities have been moved up.  Still the spiritual reader.

There is a plan to put a high end car dealership where the old Hooters was on Boston post road.  I am Not that excited over that prospect.

PF Chang's restaurant is moving into the mall soon.

Now I think I better check my BP and hit the sack.

Going to be busy week

I started my day off semi late.  I got up normal time and did the normal routine and then forced myself to finish a very long email to DR. T that I started last week.  I hadn’t worked on it much this weekend.  As I was finishing, I kept rushing and pushed the wrong buttons and almost lost the rest of what I wrote.  I was getting frustrated so much.  I nearly scared the cats.

I had to rush and get dressed as I showered last night.  I managed to get here just before 8 am and worked on the claims and then on the mail.  I am still behind on the mail, and I need to get a lion’s share of it done by the end of the week.  We are moving to the third floor on Friday.

I was relieved there wasn’t that much mail for today.  I hope to get everything else further along.  AT least that’s my hope.  As soon as more date stampers come JT will be helping me.  I was actually done with the 17th mail.  I stayed little longer to make sure it was finished.  I will be starting on the 18th when I get to work tomorrow.

I finally ordered my 30th anniversary gift from the University.  I went through quickly after receiving another email reminder.  There were so many things to choose but the top one was this.

It was very cold this morning when I left the condo.  IT was 7 and by lunch time it was up to    25 same at home too.  It took some time for the ice to melt off the car because the de-icing fluid I had was not cooperating.  OF course, I was cussing it out.  Of course, if I brought it inside the house it might have worked better.

Stephanie T from the Meetup has asked the group for more help in her fundraising activity for this person.  There is an auction in April, so I volunteered to help set up.  They have been collecting things for the auction as well.

We also have the annual Ladies Brunch for Valentines  this year.  It’s on February 26.  It is one of my favorite brunches.  There is usually a large number of us attending and we bring something to eat (sometimes its chocolate and sometimes it’s not) As usual it’s also an opportunity to see members that we don’t get to see often.  Just like all the other activities.

JOanS had a meetup yesterday but I wasn’t going anywhere in the snow.  It’s usually a Health fair and fundraiser.  I just haven’t wanted to go.

The hiking with Friends group had a hike two weeks ago.  Of course I didn’t go.  One of these days I need to do one.  The Last one was on a Friday.  It’s been a while since they did a Saturday activity.

It was nearly five when I got home.  I checked the mail.  Got a few things like my W2 form from Work, insurance related stuff from Aetna, and the rest was crap mail.

I fed the cats, made my dinner and watched TV until just before 6.  That was when my weekly session with Debra started.  This time it was better.  Everything was working.  Well an occasionally vibration making sounds.  I have to admit I was beginning to run out of things to say.  I told her about work, family, and friends.  We finished just before 7.  We will meet next week.

I cleaned up the kitchen sent the dishwasher through, and straighten the litterboxes up I am heading to bed.

Hopefully A Better Day

Last night continued the Monday Frustrations when My phone wouldn’t call anyone, and I couldn’t get phone calls, and the texts didn’t come until the end of the night.

I was unable to have the zoom because the microphone didn’t work for it, and I was getting so frustrated with it that I was really cursing and getting angry.  Poor Debra had to watch it.  Then I spill soda on it and the table.  I thought for sure it would cut out, but it didn’t and has continued to work.  The problem with the phone was no network service??  I hated it.  I ended up turning it off and low and behold it worked.

Debra and I will have our session later in the week via zoom.  I don’t know why it did, but my reaction was really over the top.  I kept getting message that my microphone wasn’t working…well when I listened to a video it was fine.

I learned last night that Liz’s Friend Marjorie passed away in the last couple of days.  Liz posted it on her timeline and her text to me was so upbeat.  I called and left a message not sure she got it. We talked via text this morning too.

I was in bed by 9.  Sky was going nuts for a couple of hours with his vocalizing and running around crazy.  He finally calmed down and went to sleep.  I think Tiger came to the bed sometime during the night, but I am a little fuzzy on that.

She was waiting by the door when I got up this morning.  I fed them and relaxed until 6. Then I got ready for work.  I checked outside and saw the snow on the car.  It wasn’t much and it came off quickly.

Oh, I knew there was something I wanted to tell you.  I finally used Instacart for Aldi’s and for the most part (they say I ordered cola when I don’t think I did, but I am drinking it) it went okay.  I wasn’t feeling great and by 5:30 6 pm it arrived after I placed the order around 4.  So, if I am not feeling well or the weather is bad that’s what I am doing.

Well, I have more work to do before leaving for the day.  I am glad the union meeting was cancelled for the day.

Highlights of the week

It’s been a couple of days again Bullet points

Work:

*I have been busy.  The HCFA printer is working again.  I have been keeping up with those.  I got some answers regarding some of the HFCA’s.   I try to get those done first thing in the morning.

*I am making progress with the mail.  I will be starting on the sixth of January.    SR provided me with an updated list of instructions for where the mail goes.  Actually JT will be scanning the denials to staff members until I get caught up.  I do have to scan some stuff to other staff members and I am going to try and get some of it done tomorrow.

*The eobs scanning is going to be on hold for bit.  I haven’t had time to do any of it and AC went on vacation.   It will be on hold until the supervisor says otherwise.

*I have to say even though everyone is being patient and understanding about everything.  I have got to commit myself to better time management.    To better organize my time a little more.

Home:

*I am working on the budget constantly and always needs tweaking.  I did have a surprise bill from Chase.  It was Fees and something from last month.   Sis just finished asking me about the budgets and using credit cards yesterday.

*The HOA and property management just sent out a revision to the HOA to include the use of Generators for unit owners.  One of my neighbor’s daughters sent a letter requesting to add a generator to her Mom’s unit for things needed.  I have only met her mother once.  It was the time flowers were sent to me instead of her mother (when her father died).

*Finally saw a critter.  It was a hawk the other day.  Something has been eating the pumpkin outside.  I will give it another day then I am going to have to throw it out.

Family:

Tiger has her annual physical at the Vet’s tomorrow.  I got her meds refilled and as I talked with the neurologist about the shots and the whole visit.  She said that they could best tell what I should do next for her.  That other than the mandated vaccines I can decline anything I need to.  I looked back to last year and one of the visits was over $300.  I am hoping this won’t be too much.  She is still knuckling this week and was walking funny earlier this week but with the meds back in her system she should be okay.  I have actually had to force it down her throat this week.  She doesn’t seem to have that much trouble getting on the furniture to sit or lay but I keep thinking every time she jumps down she is going to break something.  I carried her into the bedroom tonight.  She didn’t object much.  She did get accosted by Sky.

*Sky is good.  Runs around crazy some nights and then settles down on the bed.  He is eating fine.   Sits on town of the recliner or sits in the corner of my room.  His annual checkup is next month so when I finish with Tigers tomorrow I will schedule his.

* Liz and Nelson are still recovering from Covid.  They still barely go out except for appointments.  They just ordered the covid home tests from the Government that was released to the country this week.  Liz received some sad news this week about a dear friend of hers just entering Hospice this week.  So she was dealing with that.

*Cheryl returned to work and her home after her bout with Covid.  I am thinking Mike was happy to have her back.  He is continuing with Chemotherapy with his cancer.  I will find out more this week with Liz.  I believe her kids are doing well.

*Rich returned to work last week after his bout with Covid.  He still gets tired at the end of the day.  I know how that feels.  I don’t know if he is going back to working two jobs or not.

*Chris and Jen and the kids are doing well.  They sent up Christmas gifts last week and I got a wonderful table sign about Crazy Cat lady.  They also sent me this year’s Photo calendar and a cute picture of the two youngest.

* Nelson Jr and Lisa shared some family pictures of skiing on Mount Southington last week.   They seem to be doing well.  Nelson 3 just turned 11 New Year’s Eve and he is going to be very tall.  His sister Olivia is growing so fast too.

*Adam and his family are doing well.  Both are working.  I think Olga is working from home and Adam goes to the office.  The kids are doing well.  Two are in school I think.  The youngest is in Daycare.  AT least that’s what I think.

*I talked with Diane last week.  I may have mentioned that.  She says they bought a home in West Haven to have as a B&B.  I don’t know if it’s an air BNB or not but they still have their place in Fort Washington.  She told me her mother has been not taking care of herself so she has been staying with John and Tiffany.

*John and Tiffany are busy with family and work.  Seem to be doing well and of course hosting and caring for Ethel.

*No one has heard much from my nephew Rob.  Although I am guessing my niece Emily has heard from him on occasion.

*Jim and Janis are fine.   No news about the kids.

Friends

*Dave has been working.  I can’t tell if his schedule changed because of Covid or not (if you all have following news about Jet Blue or the airline industry you will understand).  I may have written that his BIL died last week.  There was no love-loss between the two.

*I talked with Mama Roberta tonight.  She is dealing with Frustrations regarding her elderly sister.  She is in a nursing home.  Some difficult choices and decisions have to be made and it’s not been easy.  She has been making travel plans and they have to be put on hold perhaps between the airline cancellations and her sister’s own health.

*I haven’t seen the girls from the finding friend’s meetup in nearly a week.  They wanted to play pool and their schedules couldn’t connect.  The weather hasn’t been easy either.  I have been pretty tired and had a meeting this week.

*Liz and I had a quick update meeting with Lawyer Bob2.  The petition to probate to get LawyerBob1 to appear has begun and that should be happening soon.  It just depends on the court calendar.  It will probably be done by Zoom.  We won’t have to attend I don’t think.  LawyerBob2 does have to comply though.

Health

*I am happy to report that I haven’t had any more dizzy spells since last weekend. I have been tired though.  My voice seems to be going a little more.  I did take a home covid test and it was negative.

*I have a sleep study test next week and the follow up next month.  The home test didn’t record long enough.  It had nothing to do with batteries it just happened.

*I see Debra this coming week.  It’s been a couple of weeks since we met but that’s due to the MLK holiday.

Weather

The temperatures were warmer than normal.  Mostly 30 and 40’s until today.  We had some rain and snow.  It caused the schools in town and across the state to close.  The Temperatures now are in the low 20s.  It will be sunny and cold for the next couple of days and maybe rain near the beginning of the week.

I need to go to bed.  Have a great one.

I am Thankful

This was post was going to be the last Thankful Thursday Post of 2021 but I didn’t do many of those this year either.  Needless to say I am thankful.

I ended up not doing much for the day except going to the store and picking up the prescription and some milk and a container of frosting.

I did some things around here and then got ready for the meetup.  Man it was stressful getting there.  It was raining but my vision was somewhat blurry and it felt like I was seeing things in three d.

For some reason Google maps didn’t take me straight to the diner.  It took me near Stephanie’s house (I clicked on Guilford link and it was in the middle of nowhere. Well at least for that area.   I was getting stressed.  I finally got to the dinner after 5:30.  PaulaJ, Gillion, Stephanie, and Jackie were there.  I told them what happened when I told Stephanie that I think I was near her house. Eventually Cyn and Steph’s Mom arrived and then spent the next two hours talking and eating.  It was fun.  I have to admit after eating I wasn’t feeling so hot.  I was starting to get ready to leave before them but ended up leaving when it was time.

It was drizzling when we left and kept steady all the way home.  There were only a couple of times where it was hard but the drive home wasn’t too bad.

When I got home the kitties were both sitting on their favorite furniture.  I got settled in and watched TV for a bit and then went to bed.  The cats followed suit.

The cats were indignant that I stayed in bed until 6 this morning.  Actually I was shocked I did myself.  I did wake up around 4:30 and noticed the cats were starting to move. When I got up I fed them and turned on the TV.  Some of my staples were still on but you can tell that it’s getting closer to the holiday again.

I went back to bed again for another couple of hours and since then did some TV watching, surfing the net and forcing myself to do cleaning I have been putting off.

This weather isn’t conducive to cleaning either. I just want to sleep. It’s about 44 degrees and cloudy and we might get some more rain later.

Well I might as well go tackle this stuff-slowly apparently.

Interesting Day yesterday

Yesterday was J’s 71st birthday.  Now ask me if I did anything for his birthday?  That would be a   Whopping no.  What a wonderful sister I am.  I sent an ecard during the day; I did send him a text message.  I sent him HB on FB.

Several of my remote colleagues from administration including ML, MR, and the Clinical Operations team and credentialing all came in to clear out their desks.  This means the move is more real each day.  I caught up with a few of them.  TB became a Daddy in the past year or two. I guess he and his staff is moving to the building when we move upstairs.

Around 2:30 we got an alert there was a Bomb Threat on Campus.  Several buildings on the other side of town closer to the med school were evacuated because they may have had bombs in them.  Around quarter of five we then get message from the shuttle system saying the schedules and routes were altered because of the Bomb threat.  During this time I got texts wondering about our safety.  Since it was a mile away and on the other side of town we were fine.  I let them know about it.

Around 3 I got an email from one of the ladies from the Ladies guild.  She wasn’t feeling well on Wednesday and got tested and was tested positive for Covid.  So she emailed us to let us know.  After work I came home and got my insurance card and went to a covid Test.  It was at the same place I got the last one at.  I called Liz and left her a message.  She called back later.

I was in and out of there in 15 minutes and back home by 5.  I should get the results either later today or tomorrow. On the MyChart hospital system I told them I wasn’t feeling any symptoms but they said better to be safe than sorry.  However, I have to say I have been sneezing frequently this week and I never connected it to that.  I figured dust or the allergies.

My neck was bothering me all day and I know that it was the way I slept on it the night before and so I took meds for it.  It still hurts now and I did take something for it but I will take more in a while.

Once I got home last night I fed the cats, ordered some dinner (that was a goof), and emptied the garbage and fell asleep on the couch watching TV.  I started watching the Star wars marathon.  Around 9 I went to bed.  I listened to the regular Friday night programs. Of course I had company in Sky.  Tiger did her own thing.

I had these grand plans to get all the less noisy work done early in the morning when I woke up this morning and all I managed to do is laundry, and wash clean most of the bathroom.  Since I am not going anywhere today it will be a quiet day.

I just need to finish the cleaning first.

Have a great Saturday.

Election Day 2021

Today is the day where we vote in or reelect people running our local municipalities At least here in Connecticut that’s what’s going here; I can’t begin to think of the other states. I tried to look it up but I don’t have the time to research it.   I got up early and headed to my new Poll location and got to meet some of the candidates from the 5th district.  I have seen the ones who are on the DTC at the zoom meetings and such but that’s it.  A few of the other Republicans I knew of from Awards night at the High Schools.  Anyway, going in was easy and voting wasn’t bad either.  I thought there would be an issue with my license because it still had my old address on the front and the new one on the back but there wasn’t.

Members of the DTC party will be meeting at   Bridge House in Devon.  It will also have zoom connections as well.  I wasn’t going to go there but made a commitment to attend so I will go after work.   This will make for a long day.

I actually didn’t do very much this year again for the election.  I volunteered for the sign making at the beginning of October, and the two of the three phone banks and attended the monthly DTC meetings via zoom.  I didn’t attend any Kick off parties, or fundraisers for the candidates, or the lit drops they usually have.  OF course I will be at the restaurant tonight.  I am pretty confident that our current Mayor will win his re-election bid.  I feel he has done very well.

Work has been busy for me.  WE have been doing lots of scanning, and progress with the new tasks of scanning appeals.  It’s not that hard actually.  When we have it I do it in the morning.  I was glad to be done with the back log of Attorney documents for scanning.  In the afternoon I have been focusing on the refund backlog (scanning).

I have also been helping out Mary the Admin assistant with odds and ends.  I have to make a few more mail tray tags for the mail room.  I think this all has to do with moving eventually to the third floor.

The ratified contract was to have been signed between the union and the University this week but I haven’t heard anything yet.  I am sure they will let us know.  They have been sending out emails about the ratification and what it entails.  Actually we didn’t have our committee meeting it was cancelled at the last minute.

We received an email reminding us to wear our masks while in the building as someone apparently reported that masks weren’t being warn.  We pretty much know who wasn’t wearing the mask but who reported us could have been anyone.  I went over in my head remembering if at any time I didn’t’ have my mask on and maybe once.

I was pleased to read that the property manager or board is going to contact the school board or city and ask them to move the bus stop that is at the end of our drive way.  I have been thinking I would say something but I am guessing others have.  When parents drop their kids off or are waiting for the bus to arrive they take up room.  It makes the driveway narrower than it is.  With winter approaching, it will make navigation a little tricky.

As expected we didn’t have trick or treaters in the complex.  I even checked with a few of the neighbors and they said no.

Because the weekend was a crazy one and I was exhausted the house cleaning was half done.  I got as far as the bathroom, and part of the kitchen and some vacuuming.  The rest will be done closer to the weekend.  I hope.

I need to bring in the patio furniture (the table can stay outside) soon.  Unfortunately there has been a large spider (dubbed Charlotte) and its babies making their home with the umbrella and I am willing to live and let live.   I thought the storm on Saturday would take care of it but I don’t think it did.  I am just going to have to put on my big girl persona and deal with it I guess.

Last week and the week before I got the insurance (not bills or statements) but the thing they send out before the bills that tell you what it covered and what not.  Well I am a little anxious (when am I not these days?) about this.  They are both due in December.  I am hoping to build up the savings a little more before then.    I have to worry about the taxes later.

I am doing okay with everything else.  Just wish I would not use the credit card as much as I have been lately.  It’s mostly for food (meals out).  I seem to be doing it a lot lately.  I just have to reign in a little more the next few weeks.

I had a great time last weekend at the pumpkin Spice and everything nice Brunch.  I got to see people I haven’t seen in a while one was a girl from the game meetup. I got to see Erica who has been working hard.  There were many others who were new or have been around for years but haven’t been to all the activities.  I think I read there were 32 of us.  We even got to meet Cyn’s aunt who has moved in with her.

I don’t know if I had told you that a couple of weeks ago this woman who came to the Wednesday meetup at the diner and it turned ugly.  After Cyn had vented that her aunt was lauding our former President’s accomplishments this woman named Sue lit into screaming and yelling at her.  Cyn tried to apologize and just was obnoxious. I am glad I wasn’t there.

When you attend a meetup for the first time you read the room.   You don’t cause arguments or problems or scene or whatever you want to call it.  The witch even had the nerve to follow Cyn outside to further the discussion.  A few days later the woman left the group.

I would fiercely defend this group to anyone who would say “there isn’t a lot done with this group” or would question the methods.  We basically give each other advice or listen to each other’s problems or even accomplishments.  We try not to talk politics if we can.

We are supposed to meet at the diner tomorrow night and I am not sure I can as I have prior commitments.  I don’t know if we have anything else planned for the group.  Well except for the card games on the Sundays.  I am pretty sure there will be more Friday night excursions and a few holiday things.

The Hiking and walking with Friends group out of Manchester have been having activities on the last couple of weekends.  The one thing I have been waiting for.  Places Like West Hartford, Case Mountain, Beldon Wild life Area, and Glastonbury CT (all different areas).  I may have to take a weekend go where they are.

Walking with Buddy has had some fundraising events that don’t necessarily do with the walking and I haven’t made them.  Again it’s on weekends and I usually do housekeeping stuff and or the Finding friend’s activities.

I talked with Mama Roberta last night.  We spoke for an hour.  We talked about everything, including the current atmosphere out there in the world.  I told her about the activities in the meetup and some of her meetups.  She has got plans for the next month to visit her daughter and son in law.

In a couple of weeks my friend Lisa is coming in from Greenwich to visit.  I can’t wait for this. I am still trying to figure out a menu for our afternoon.

The ladies Guild are meeting for the board meeting tomorrow night.  I still haven’t done much with the membership list.  I have to do it with Excel because I don’t have a PDF program.  I have been missing the last several meetings.  We have a fundraiser the annual Auction and dinner the weekend before Thanksgiving.  This meeting will be about other fundraisers, something like Angel things for Christmas time.

I did bingo last weekend and it went well.  Despite the fact they were having a possible outbreak testing.  I wasn’t sure if they were going to have bingo or not.  This annoyed me because even though I am vaccinated I still have family who are immune compromised (cousins, etc.).  I wish they would have called me to let me know.    It’s becoming evident that I need to either call out that weekend or come home early that Saturday after Thanksgiving.  I haven’t met the new Director.  She only works M-F.   I am getting the distinct impression the new boss is annoying Recreation Bob.

As I’m writing this Tiger is under the end table across from me.  She did sit with me on the couch for a little bit.  She has been eating her morning a different brand of canned food with no problem.  That means she is also taking her meds easily.  The turkey menu is in dark gravy instead of white.  It takes her longer to eat the kibble but I think she gets the medicine anyway.

She continues to surprise me daily when she hops up on to the bed some nights and sleep.  She doesn’t always stay but it’s still great.  I have also found that she will cuddle with Sky on the couch, under the coffee table and on the bed.  I just never took pictures.  Something I will be regretting I am sure.

Sky, continues to sleep everywhere, top of the recliner, couch, and of course next to me at night.  He would put his head on the pillow or my shoulder sometimes.  Several times including this evening I have found him under the blankets on the bed.  He also curls up under the bed for a while.  He eats his food and sometimes if I don’t catch him he eats tigers.

I was happy to discover that one of them had an accident once today.  Let’s hope they can keep it up longer.

I saw my sister and BIL yesterday before my session with Debra.  My reason for going over there was to drop off money to her.  AT one point she wanted to let me know that I shouldn’t have shared something with her about my brother (sort of health related but more like age related) so she nagged me about.  I was rather annoyed with her about it and as I was going to my car I mumble and said you are not my mother.  When Liz called me tonight on the way home I thanked her instead.  We talked more about it and then we moved on to a more pleasant topic.

Liz wanted me to know she went to the animal shelter to drop off some old sheets and blankets for the animals and she got to hold some really beautiful kittens.  She said she didn’t bring one home because she wanted to keep her husband more.

I have seen some sitings of my angel brother’s family on FB.  Niece is still up in Haddam performing, her brother John is living life in South Carolina, Rob? Yeah who knows?  SIL I am not sure.

Jim was working the polls yesterday.  I will find out soon how it went.  He has been disappointed with Politics both nationally and locally of late.

Well I need to get to the restaurant.  Have a great night.

Last Day of Vacation

Considering that today is my last day of vacation.   I am going to make sure things that were not done (housework mostly) are done...
