Another "last couple of days" post

As you all know I love rainy nights that I don’t have go out.  I usually get into my pajamas and curl up in bed and watch TV or get on the computer or both.  I got to do it last night.  Leaving lots of stuff to do for today.

The kitties ran around like maniacs again.  They were sleeping on the bed a few times last night.  I think my cough spasm scared them.  They came back later.  After that I fell asleep.

Today I got up around 6 and got the cats fed and relaxed until it was time for my hair appointment. I made a stop to the new Dunkin Donuts that opened up by Citizen’s Bank in Orange got a sandwich and then headed to the salon.  Chatted with Marianne, then Karen got me set up and we began the process.  By noon I was finished.  I Have a couple of pictures that just seem to not post anywhere i want them too.  After that I came to see Preston and Vlad.  Sat with them for twenty minutes and then tried to set up my laptop.  Can’t seem to access their internet so will be using their computers.  Probably could just do word processing on mine.  It took me some time to access my sites and passwords.

After I left here I headed to Wal*Mart, picked up some stuff for home, went to Stop and shop to get the rest of the ingredients for the cheese cake.  Talked with my sister she likes the hair change but is worried about the face.  The rosacea showed up in the pictures again.  While I was in Stop and Shop we had a snow squall.  No accumulation and didn’t last long either.

I went back to my house dropped the stuff off.  Put a load of laundry.  Will finish in the morning.  Refilled kibble for the night, cleaned out litter boxes.  Spent time with the kitties and then headed back here.

Took Preston for his walk and fed them both and we have been relaxing in front of the tv.  Preston did very well today..he said next to me when I got here the first time after about an hour.  He was very cuddly and so was Vlad.  Now he is sitting in the livingroom and not sure where Vlad is.  They both tried to eat my chicken dinner.  I haven’t found the spray bottle for Vlad.

I had a lovely phone call from my great Niece Audrey. She got a new phone today as a reward for great grades.  We talked about school, Christmas, New Years, and had the same conversation with Jason.  He sounds so much like his Father Chris.

The rest of the night I spent watching TV Saw Twilight Breaking dawn..it was getting intense near the end..didn’t see all of it yet.

I am getting tired now.  I really have a lot to do before going to Liz’s tomorrow.

Saturday doings

I can’t believe it is Saturday again.  I am hoping the weekend goes slower than the past week.  I know it won’t because like the work week it never does.  Sometimes we think the days go by slow or we wish it but it never does.

The only things that need to be done is more volunteering for the candidates and a haircut and grocery shopping.  I probably could do that tomorrow after bingo.  I think I may not do bingo this weekend.

There was a scary situation in Madison yesterday.  There was a search for an armed man who committed a robbery in Ohio and carjacking in Michigan on the loose in that town.  Luckily he was caught sometime last night but it caused a lockdown of that town in the area of that town.  I was concerned because we have people who live in that area.  Mom’s cousins live south east of that area.  Of course Nelson Jr and his family live about 8 miles east of there too.

The kitties are as you can see above chilling.  I think Sky took over Tiger’s seat again.  The two of them have been taking turns sitting in the white chair.  They have been chasing each other a few times as well.

Well I have a few things to do before going to the hair salon.  Have a great one..

My snow storm doo

This was taken at 10:42 after I had come home from the salon.   It was funny when I woke up at 6 there was nothing in the sky or on the ground.  It was like that until 7:10 when I sent a message to my brother in PA.  30 minutes later it was snowing.  On my travels it was a little hard to drive.  A car got stuck at an intersection and had to be pushed out of the way..

First Weekend of Fall

Good Evening. I have been told this is the first weekend of the fall thanks to the news lady on channel 8.   It was a chilly start and not really bright sunny at 7:20 in the morning.  I was not feeling so great.  I have been having the runs a little and I am not sure exactly although it wouldn’t be a huge surprise to think it was the chips and dips last night.  I was feeling rather achy today.  The shoulder is hurting and as soon as soon as I had something to eat I took the meds.

The neighbors next door put up a fence.  It’s the one between their garage and the kitchen wall.  He came to me a couple of days and showed me where they were putting it and they were taking down the Rose of Sharon bushes.  They can do it because it’s on their property. The fence is nice and it will look nice.

Around 11:00 I left for the post office-empty, then I headed to the salon.  It was Karen’s birthday so we were treated to cake and coffee.  We had a great discussion and got my haircut.  I will post the new look tomorrow.

After I headed back to the house to get my id’s I headed to Liz’s to go shopping.  She invited me before I left for the salon. It was nearly 1 and after I said hello to Nephew Michael he was working on the new bathroom.  All that has to be done is everything connected and painted and stuff it will be done.

We went to the Burlington Coat factory Store in Stratford.  We were there for several hours. We each got something.  For me it was a blouse, a pair of black pants, a new dress for the baptism (and anything else nice) a coat, and a new pocketbook.  Liz got blouses and dresses, and a new coat, and hangers and stuff like that.  We left there by 4 stopped at D&D and then got home to Liz’s by 5.  I left there after about 15 minutes after showing off my “loot”.

When I left there I had every intention of getting the cat food and then have dinner.  Well I had dinner first at IHOP the crepe promo they have been showing on TV.  I had made it a combo with hash browns, sausage, and eggs.  I had a strawberry shake (I could have done without).  I was done by 6 and heading home.

The babies were ambling around the downstairs when I get home.  A lot different than when I left which was in the closet in the bedroom.  They were cuddled up.  Something I wouldn’t have minded to do myself.

I managed to get food shopping done and hung up stuff.  I have the other things to hang up when I get to bed which will be soon as I am achy again.  I also closed some of the windows as I am chilly.

Dear Friends

March 30, 2014

Dear Friends

Wow what happened to yesterday?  Well my day started off okay I had another sleepless  night into saturday .  I got my hair done and then spent the rest of the day relaxing and watching NCIS for a while.  Unfortunately I started getting a headache and ended up getting sick but still went out with M&R for dinner.  I was unable to eat any of my dinner .   We decided to forego the Military Whisk.  I still wasn’t feeling good and Mike wasn’t thrilled about going so we did drive up and gave them money for the tickets and then came home by 9.

I did run into an old friend/co worker at Ruby Tuesdays’ and it was fun catching up with her.  Its been years since I saw her family and they have grown so much.  It was pretty funny Ruby Tuesday's was very busy inspite of the heavy rains last night.

When I got home I fell into bed.  I still had a little of the headache but tried to sleep it off.  I ended up getting up during the night and taking more tylenol.  I finally got a lot of sleep.  I feel pretty good this morning.

Today will be my sunday morning activities and then laundry and getting ready for the upcoming week.

So I hope you had a great Saturday and I hope you enjoy the rest of today.

Eventful Friday

As I was sitting at work yesterday working on  the mail my thoughts were drifting to Macungie where my nephew was sitting through his graduation ceremonies.  I wondered if they were indoors because of the rain.  It was pretty likely that was the case there are venues that big for it.  I was having flashbacks to the day I met him.  He was just two when Jim and Claudia brought him home and he had a limp for a while.  He was shy at first but by the fourth time I saw him I think we grew close.  Over the years I watched him grow he was a smart young man.  Any time they came for a visit he always helped Mom make breakfast.  As he got older he didn’t do it as much.   As he got older and his parents divorced he spent a lot of time with his father.  He also had his friends and his sports but he made sure he spent time with Jim.  That might change now that he will be attending Blair Academy in the fall.  I spoke to Jim before leaving the office yesterday and he said it went well.

When I got home Andrea was creating havoc along the east coast and we were concerned that the awards banquet would suffer from it.   It didn’t.  There were were a lot of people there despite the weather.  Some say it was because they wanted to be there for Mom.  All the award honorees were there and all congratulated and commented on Mom.  I thought the food was good but others were not so happy with it.  We didn’t leave the event until 11 or 11:30.  It was still raining but no flooding and I drove us home.  I was glad that Ethel and Diane and Rogier were there (even though they were late).

Today was a fairly quiet.  The weather was completely different from yesterday the sun was out bright and early but not extremely hot.  Mom stayed in bed until 10 and I did some laundry when she got up (actually we are still trying to get some spots out of the new blouse I wore last night).

I got my hair cut and spent the rest of the time doing some cleaning (Mom sort of asked me not spend the entire day watching TV so I didn’t).  I did spend time on the computer but I also did some sleeping.

Jim called this morning with news that Kristina would be graduating with her class tomorrow after passing a science test that she took to bring up her grade.  AT first Mom asked if they wanted us to join them tomorrow but JIm said no that Claudia would like us to come another time for a celebration.  I was glad because I knew I couldn’t just drop everything at the last minute and go and there was also no way I was going to do a round trip in one day.   Mom said she would drop everything if asked.

Liz and Nelson came home today from their trip to Cape May.  They had contacted me via text very early this morning asking about the awards dinner and so as I was getting ready for my hair appointment I wrote as much as i could.  When I finished the hair appointment I called her and they were still in NJ  I told her about the awards dinner and the news about Kristina (and after I did I was not so sure I did).

Late this afternoon Liz came over with stones she had found on the pristine beaches and many stories of their trip.  She also asked about the awards dinner and mentioned about Kristina.  Mom answered her and I was relieved Mom hasn’t asked me about it.  She stayed for about an hour and we had coffee (but not our dinner).  We also talked about the upcoming family reunion and who would be attending.  All in all the visit was great.

After Liz left we had a late dinner.  It was rice and beef Mom and i started preparing it earlier but when Liz called we had to put it on hold.  The steak was from Mom’s dinner and even though it was mixed in the rice it was a little dry.

We have ants.  We have had them for the last several days  but Mom finally put the ant poison out and now they are hopefully taking it back to wherever their nest is.  They have been in the pantry closet along the walls.  They have been crawling on the counter nearest the refrigerator.  I had to put away the cake Mom had out into the refrigerator.  I am thinking it will be a couple of days and then we won’t have them.  I am pretty sure I don’t want any of the food in that pantry.

OKay it's getting late now.  I am going to bed (if the coffee I had tonight doesn’t keep me awake).  I am planning on getting my summer clothes out and putting my winter clothes away before I go to the board meeting tomorrow.

I had a lazy afternoon

It was nearly 11:30  when I came home.  Mom had not yet returned from  the Turn in your drugs event yet  and so I decided to eat some cookies (realize this may have been the cause of my aches tonight) and watch TV.    The rest of the day we did our own thing.  Mom did laundry while I surfed the net.  I had a late lunch .  Mom did some shopping and  then went to church.

I was still waiting for the  nice cable guy.  He had called  just before 4 and said he would be here soon.  He checked stuff out and while he did that I had gotten some calls and watched TV.  He had to give us an updated  Samsung  Cable box.  It is really cool.  The graphics are cool and the  on screen info and channel guide is much different.

Debbie M called to  talk  among  other things our train game next week.  Who  attendee’s would be or not be.  She also  is bringing a guest.  a gentlemen  she met online and had a first date today.    WE talked about menu and drinks.

When  Mom  came home  she started getting dinner ready.  We were going to grill but there wasn’t  enough  gas in one tank and the other one I was having a hard time latching on to the bottom of the grill.  So we just  cooked in  the  fryer pan.  It was good.

Been watching  NCIS marathon, Charmed Mini-marathon.  We TV has been showing Charmed  for the last two saturdays.  They  slimmed their weekday airings to one hour a day.  They did that last year too.  Probably  for the summer schedule..

I talked with JIm today.  First this morning  when Mom was in the shower and then again when she was in the bathroom  getting into her pajamas.  We talked about James and school and how I have  now been actively  following the  Blair Academy in  news feed and facebook.

I am not really looking forward to  tomorrow ‘s encounter with Natalie.  She is going to ask why we cancelled the fashion show.  I don’t want to tell her it was because it  not enough room.

Well I am going to bed I will see you later.

A Good Night's Sleep

Oh how wonderful it is to feel refreshed. I actually am still a little tired but I still am waking up. I went to bed shortly after dinner last night. It was great.

I left the office by 3:30 and even though traffic was a bit hairy I got to the Dr.’s office on time. I had the INR level checked (and giving the newbie doing it a playful hard time). It was low. It was 1.9. I have to go back next Friday.

Mom bought new fans for around the house I have one in the window and it’s great. It’s a Bionaire fan. It is a nice quiet one. It made sleeping wonderful-but then with the rain shower last night it was much cooler.

Yes we got some rain yesterday. We didn’t get as much as others did and apparently some parts of the state got thunder and lightening and heavy rain. Today is supposed to be much cooler.

We had a weird experience yesterday some men came to our door and that of our neighbors soliciting sales for aluminum siding jobs. The guy was persistent to the point of being rude but Mom said we are not doing it. He was trying to find out when we would be here next week. He didn’t have any flyers for us or another neighbor but for SylviaA. This made Neighbor Kim really uneasy. There have been reports that homes have been robbed by people like this. Neighbor Kim was close to reporting them to the police. I urged Mom to make sure the doors were really locked last night.

This morning I am having the stitches taken out of my mouth and then getting a hair cut. I need to go to the bank in between. I was entertaining the thought of helping out at TM’s office for the canvassing but that will have to depend on how I feel after the stitches being removed.

I have something to do every day this week

As I was getting ready for bed last night I took a few moments to look over my appointment book to prepare for the week and for the first time in what I think is months I have some thing to do every single day this week. Doctor appointments, meetings, parties, hair appointments, and follow up car appointment.

I sure will be looking forward to the weekend coming up that’s for sure. At least my work volume should be normal and I will be on top of it. It is a given that it is getting closer to FY end and that means more pressure and more stress for everyone. I have to remember that it isn’t personal if some one snaps. At least no one will say anything about the mail for the other floors. I have to remember there is mail on the side of the desk that I need to look at today.

So you want to see my schedule this week?

Monday is my session with Debra. We usually discuss the events of the past week and how I dealt with them and what challenges I have for this week. There are about three sessions left before she leaves for her month long vacation. We are planning on having at least two phone sessions. They usually last about 45 minutes and it would be like our regular sessions. We recently started doing this when I was home sick with the blood clot. My intention is to write her in between and send her these entries; she may not get to see them until she gets back in the office in August.

On Tuesday I see Dr. J Becker. She is my Lupus Doctor and has been three months since I last saw her. I have no idea if she even knows I had the incident with the blood clot or if she is aware of the upcoming tests. I know she has to send all lof her reports to my PCP but I don’t know if she even was informed. I am going to have to update those stupid forms about hospital stays and medicine and all that other stuff. I hate filling those out.

Wednesday I see Dr. Rosenblatt he will be discussing the Uterine Fibroid Embolization procedure and possible alternatives. I was trying to find out more information on him but found some tips like taking notes on the experience of the appointment both pro and con. Well I plan on doing that any way. I am not real happy about having to go to Fairfield during commuter time. The traffic going that direction really sucks.

In the afternoon I have to go to Dr. Spanolios office and get my INR testing done. I hope the levels remained the same. I will have to tell them I had to go off them for the oral surgery. The whole thing shouldn’t take more than 15 minutes. I will get the new dosage level and new check in time.

On Thursday we are having the 4th District meeting here. I have sent out the reminder last night. No one has replied or acknowledged whether or not they are coming yet. I know of one person that already read it. We are only going to get a few responses but several people will show up without responding either way. That is so frustrating because Mom does a lot to prepare and as I am sure you are aware you don’t know how much to make and what ever.

On Friday is the annual “End of year” Club picnic at Telka’s. it is starting at 2 pm but I won’t be there until 5 pm. I am bringing cole slaw and Mom will be making it as the day gets closer. It is also a graduation party for the girls who graduate this week and of course who have already graduated. It should be really fun.

Saturday morning I get the stitches out of my mouth and we discuss the next step in getting the implant. I am pretty sure that will be more money when the time comes. That part should happen near the end of the summer.

The morning gets to end with a haircut. What better way to end the week? I enjoy Jamie. She is so sweet and I love this Salon. Did I mention that I met up with one of the Stylists from Harbor Lights? I met her at the Awards Dinner last Thursday. Apparently Harbor lights went out of business and are now merged with another one in the Devon area. It was rather awkward moment for me as I didn’t want to tell her I am going some where else now.

I am probably going to have to do all my chores Saturday afternoon. I don’t know what else we have planned for that day I hope nothing as by then I will be tired.

Okay its time for me to get to work. I will see you later.

I can't believe how stupid I feel

I knew I should have gone to the bank last night! I am supposed to be getting my hair done in about 4 hours and I need to get money. The bank here in New Haven doesn't have lobby hours. That means I have to back to Milford then come back to work!!! I was hoping that the salon would take a check but common sense tells me no.

Oh well if people can leave to go to lunches and stuff then I can do that. I am hoping it won't be very long. Maybe I can go to the west haven office? God I don't know...we will see.

Mom's got a lunch with the Bible Study this afternoon so she is making potatoes. Hell I want to go there!

Mom started taking down the pictures from the living room walls yesterday in preparation for the painting job that is going to start on Monday. I was talking to Mom about it before leaving this morning and she is trying to figure out what she is going to do with everything. I had told her about the suggestions that Liz made when we talked about the painting. Mom says that he will cover everything. Okay...sounds like a plan but I am sure we will need more tubs to store stuff. I have to move my clothes from the blue room that's for sure.

As stupid as I feel this blog http://seasmokewhalewatching.blogspot.com/ makes me feel better. I have been following it for some time now and I love reading it. I have no idea what the numbers are (well basically I do) but its fun to just see that and then watch the shamucam in San Diego.

well happily I don't feel as stupid now. It took me basically half hour to get to milford, get to the bank, and then get back to work.

Well it rained for a short time today. It started around 11:15 and stopped a shot time later. It was still cloudy and you could see it coming down hard.

Around 1 I called Liz and Nelson. They are having a quiet few days. Nelson is recovering from Gastro by pass and Liz got bronchitis. She gets that a lot. Anyway, they have been taking walks (he has to because of this) and other than that they are fine.

Liz warned me that downtown has the art festival going on...will have to avoid that part. I may ahve to get off new west main street.

November 10, 2007

Hello. I am just relaxing and will be watching this week’s episode of TOH their current project. I have been curious to see if people in Newton ever write about this stuff or if the neighbors comment on it. Apparently they either don’t care or don’t want to venture on to internet blog world. The only blog is the one from the home owners. I am going back to blogspot search and see if I can find anything there.

Well I didn’t find anything there but I did watch Tonight’s episode they are moving along which means it has been weeks in between shows. It was interesting how they are putting together some of the stained glass windows.

I have some stuff in the dryer and now I am tired.

Today was basically quiet day. I ran some errands and then kept on doing the laundry and got my hair cut. It looks pretty good.

I got a call from Telka to let me know tomorrow is all set and asked me if I got a list and I had to tell her no. Ever since then tried to call them a couple of times but no answer. I am sure they will have it ready tomorrow.

I wrote my weekly newsletter to the groups. It has showed up in four groups that I know of. I am going to check in a few moments to see if anymore shown up.

Like I said not a eventful day. Mom annoyed but that is okay. I don’t think she is really feeling well.

Busy Saturday

Well it is almost 10 and I am now rushing around trying to get dressed to go to the bank and to my hair appointment. I have been awake since 6 but didn’t get up until 7. I managed to do a few things this morning. Not a lot but a few. I did work on the birthday list which really could have waited.

It is now almost 11. My hair is done and I am just trying to think about what needs to be done. When I don’t know what to do first I get a little anxious and end up putting it off and some times that’s not so good.

Alright it is now 20 of 1 and I am heading out. The Lawn guys are here and Mom is downstairs baking a cake. She isn’t really feeling great. She had “dysentery” while she was at the store. I have managed to fold the clothes that need to be put away for the fall. I need to find a box for it and I can do that all when I get home.

Mom wants me to buy or get another tank of propane for the grill for tomorrow. I tried calling Secondi Brothers and the person on the other line was frustrating me. I couldn’t understand her very well.

Well I better go. I am only staying for a couple of hours at the party and then coming home.

Well it is almost 7:30 and I have been home from the party since 5:15. I stayed much longer than I planned but I had a great time. Despite the fact I was annoyed at Rich for making fun/criticizing Mom (not to her face) about not remembering Jason’s name. The kids were beautiful and cuddly. I am referring to Jason and Audrey. Chris & Stephanie couldn’t come. Rich was the babysitter. Everyone took turns looking after the little ones. Jason had a lot of little kids to play with too. I hung around with my cousins a lot too.

I mentioned to several people or should say I asked them if they knew Gayle Bowen and most of them didn’t know them personally or did hear of them vaguely. After about the second or 4th time I was beginning to feel what I was discussing was inappropriate.

Oh Man I am hardly doing anything right now. I updated my schedule and then put some stuff away in the bins upstairs and now I am supposed to be ironing. I was watching TV. I still have a lot to do.

I talked with Donnie about the situation from yesterday you can read in my blog entry from yesterday (or http://katepsmusings.blogspot.com/2007/09/frantic-friday.html) (for some reason word isn’t doing well with the links). We agreed that Maria should not have involved Mom. That she should have come to them personally. Of course she hasn’t been here all weekend.

Well it is just before midnight. The room isn’t completely finished but I don’t care. I am tired. I don’t feel well. The top of the dresser at the foot of my bed is looking better. I still have to vacuum the room but I can do that when I get back from Bingo.

I posted another poll in regards to the neighbor thing. Five people already voted and one other added a comment that they would have suggested to the neighbor that if it is really bothering the neighbor then THEY should say something.

I was busy today

Well today has been very busy for me. I got up surfed the net for a bit and then got ready to go feed Junior and go to the bank. I got my hair done around 10:30 and it looks nice. I will get Mom to take a picture of me if you all like.

Then near lunch time I got a call from Keri Rowland. It was in regards to the bowl-a-thon and my new position of Secretary for the 4th District. The 4th District meetings will now be held on the 2nd Thursday of the month. I am really excited.

I also went and did some practicing for the bowl-a-thon Mom was having doubts I would be able to do it. Which I thought was kind of rude. She had been at the office dropping some tickets for Tess off.

Before heading to the alley I stopped at Jennie’s to see if she wanted to come along. Unfortunately, she wasn’t home so I headed via route one to the alley. It was 1 pm when I got started and nearly 3:30 when I finished. I played four games and I think did pretty well. The scores were 160, 130, 129, and 140. Mom asked me if that was good. I thought so.

I got a call from Dave he will be back in town around 12 or 12:30 Depending on how long it takes him to get to Trumbull. He wants to pick up stuff from that mall for Patrick and his Dad.

I was just watching the news. People in the city are calling for voluntary curfews after several shootings took place in the last thirty six hours. Aldermen of the city are calling for it. The mayor and Police Union are not pleased with it but there are city forums going on tonight and tomorrow and on December 1st. They want to hear from kids 20 years and younger. I guess the curfew is from 10 pm to 6 a.m. unless they are with an adult or at a religious event.

What did Yahoo do to their TV page? I guess they are going beta and it just isn’t the same I don’t like it. You can’t really do any searches and it’s awkward. Sigh. Oh well guess I will have to use either Iwon.com or TV Guide.com

Jennie called a little while ago we are going to try and go to Mohegan next Wednesday. I told her I would check my schedule.

Well I am going to check more emails and forums and journals….I will see you tomorrow.

Last Day of Vacation

Considering that today is my last day of vacation.   I am going to make sure things that were not done (housework mostly) are done...
