Happy Monday

Ah Monday what a lovely day?  It is overcast and a little windy this morning.  Commuters have to deal with the repair process in Bridgeport from Friday night’s train crash and this will take a few days according to sources. Work went well today we were happy to welcome back a coworker who had been out on leave and she looked great.  We had celebratory breakfast of treats and delights. Elsewhere on campus there was a shooting over the weekend.  It was very close to the office .    It is a way I walk from Debra’s sometimes. Graduation continued on campus.  Traffic was a bit heavy throughout the city I am told.  I have to admit I didn’t really have any problems coming home today.   Most of the activities were over by then anyway.  Memorial Day weekend is Alumni Weekend and that will be as crazy if not more.  As of right now this will be the entire schedule for the week. I may not have had a difficult driv...

Pez Candy Factory

For the last several weeks I have been noticing a billboard promoting Pez Candy Factory and wondered what was going on. Until I saw this over the weekend the company is expanding their visitor’s center. I have always known that Pez was in West Haven for years but never visited there. Through the years bought their candy and managed to get a few dispensers. I have one for my car (the Teddy bear that Telka gave all of us one year). I might take some time one day and take a visit to the company and have a tour. Today was a messy start to the day. We finally got some white stuff but it was barely left by the end of the day. I think most people got up to two inches every where. It caused some traffic snafus as well. It also seemed like many staff members had to take the day off because many schools either delayed or closed. I spent most of the morning working on the postage and bad address tallies until I got lockbox. Surprisingly I didn’t get very much lockbox either. The regular ...

I need to have

I really need to go back to LensCrafters® and have them check my glasses. Every time I take my glasses off and put them on it feels like they can’t focus or I see double. I think it started back the night after I literally slept on them and found the left lens popped out. I put it back in but I don’t think I did it right. It seems fine once I put them on but it just feels strange. I woke up around 2 this morning for a bathroom run. I noticed my left ankle/foot was doing pretty well until I was awake for a while. The right ankle felt like someone was putting one of those vices on it while I was walking. I may just have to keep taking the “tramadol”® until this passes. I stayed awake for a while so I did my routine of surfing the net until I got tired again. I am not sure why else I stayed up but I felt rested. The only problem is I wanted to be up by five so I could do some things before work. (That didn’t happen) I was really glad to see one of my co-workers Wendy return from...

Rainy start and rainy end

The day started with Rain and is probably going to end in rain as well. It is after 8 and getting cloudy. I grant you that it could be the time for sun set but something tells me it’s not that. The only time I was in the humidity was to walk to work and walk to my car. There was a breeze but that really didn’t do much I don’t think. Many of the people I talked with today said there were severe thunder and lightening storms in different parts of the state. Tonight we are supposed to get scattered thunderstorms. Work went well. Bryan the courier was running a tad late but it didn’t really matter because the mail volume was light at least for me. I am not sure about the amount of cash posted though. I worked until 6 again. Tomorrow I am treating Frank and Gayle to lunch. Frank shared some of his wings and fries with me one day last week so I wanted to return the favor. Gayle offered lunch to me a few times last week and so I am also trying to look out for her. The ride home w...

Construction for United Illuminating new Complex

I was coming off the highway today and noticed there were big rigs on the site where the future home of United Illuminating Power company will be. A couple of years ago the company currently headquartered in New Haven (literally down the street from my office) bought the property after The National Amusement movie complex was sold and torn down. In that time it was cleared out and then all of a sudden everything was on hold until the last few months when gates were put up so cars would not be using it as a turn around. Today there was an Orange Police squad car at the entrance. This all comes after or during (depending on how you look at it) the Stew Leonard fight with some of the Orange Residents in building their stores right there on Marsh Hill Road. That story is another long one too. Today went pretty well despite receiving sad news that Claudia M lost her Mom this past weekend. There is a collection going on until the 6th. I am planning on contributing to it soon. I just have to...
