Showing posts with the label tests

This past week

I've been receiving blood test results from both the hospital and my primary doctor.    He told me my A1C was up and so was my cholesterol.   So almost every day I have gone to pick up prescriptions and make sure I take them. My PC wants me to get blood work in a couple of months.   I need to check the patient portal for notes.   He strongly urges me to take the meds for the A1C and Cholesterol because if I don’t, I can’t have a stroke or heart attack. Due to being on antibiotics, the infusion scheduled for Friday was cancelled.   I checked with the rheumatologist, and she confirmed and thanked me for following up.    I don’t know if they will call me back forh this month or just keep the schedule as it is. I just reordered the one from Dr. Yang.   It’s a huge ass name too.   It should be here in a couple of days.   I will also see her next Friday before I start my vacation.   Although that wouldn’t matter or not.   ...

Houston We have Rain

Well we finally got rain.   It started sometime around dawn and for the most part continued throughout the day.   There were a rare moment or two of sun but overall it was straight rain.   At first it didn’t break the humidity but tonight its way cooler at 70 degrees.   I had to close some windows as it was coming in. I will be buried under the blankets tonight. I saw the surgeon today right after I had my x-rays.   The biopsy showed nothing.   No lung disease and says it’s the heart.   Well this is conundrum because the Cardiologist says the heart is fine.   It’s going to get even weirder in a moment. Late this afternoon the Rheumatologist’s office called me again to inform me that I would have to take the blood test I had last week over again as it would seem I have been exposed to TB.   She wanted me to take the blood test again.   I also have a UTI.   I am on Antibiotics now.   Anyway went to the lab and got...

Crazy Busy Day

This day has been crazy busy.   It all started by me getting up around 6 and getting the kitties fed and relaxing before getting ready for the ultrasound.   I was really hungry and in need of coffee and decided that when it was over I would treat myself to DD Pumpkin spice coffee and breakfast. I managed to leave the house by 7:45 and get to the hospital with no problems I did bring water with me for the trip home as it was very hot and it was not even 8:30.   I got to the hospital and to the clinic (for lack of a better term) signed some papers and chatted with a woman who was getting another test.   The time flew by and it was my turn for the ultrasound.   There was a student observer and the tech was efficient, pleasant, and lovely.   She did the ultrasound and then took the pictures to the doctor to look and came back said I was done.   By then it was 9.   It seemed a lot later. AS I had said I stopped by the DD and got my breakfast ...

Good News today

This morning was my nuclear stress test the cardiologist ordered for me.  It was in  trumbull at 8:15 (appointment time and actual time varied).  I filled out papers and then had to have a port put in for meds for the test.  Then i had 20 minutes of pictures taken (where I couldn’t stop coughing) and then taken to the room for the test.  After that test which finished around 10:30 I had a break and had “breakfast” (lunch I made last night) While I was at my eye appointment I was given the news it was normal and more discussion will follow on Thursday.   I was home from there by 11 thanks to Liz and Nelson.   Nelson picked me up at 7:30 and Liz met me there and drove me home. I had my eye appointment this afternoon and everything is good.  The office was quite hectic and busy and I didn’t get out of there until 4 (the visual test for the lupus was long and so was all the other things that go with it.  That was all good and normal...

Dear Mom

Dear Mom, This week has been very cold.  There hasn’t been any snow to speak of around here but but upstate NY is getting slammed.  They are calling it the “Lake effects”.   I am really glad we don’t live on a lake as beautiful as that may sound.  Unfortunately it will come to us eventually.  I was trying to see what the weather was going to be like for Thanksgiving.  It looks like it won’t be snowing so that’s a good thing. I had my CT-Scan on Monday and on Tuesday got my results.  Pancreas is fine... 2 lesions in Spleen that could be an abscess or infarction.  IT isn't allowing blood flowing into the spleen. If there was any pus (and apparently it wasn't) it would be infectious.  It could be a blood clot in the vessels towards the spleen.  Colleen (the assistant to Dr.) wants to see some earlier tests that Dr. LU (the hematologist and doctor who has been taking care of old clot).  She did say there isn't much that c...
