#365 Day Question Prompt: What did I buy today?

It has been a while since I did one of the questions so I thought I would do this.  The only thing I bought today was a small Broccoli and garlic white pizza from the pizza shop down the street that has become my new go to place.  This was after I had the incredible afternoon today.

Oh I don’t know if approving the latest Dia.com Delivery is considered buy or not but that’s what I just did.

As you may recall I took Tiger to the vet for a follow up.  Well before we left I had put her in the soft foldable crate.  It went fairly well.  She balk a few times but I think we both did much better.  Once I had put her in (she relented) and put her in the living room.  I got showered and dressed and then went upstairs for a half hour.  When it was time to leave I decided to go check in on sky who was in my old bedroom.  I was surprised to find Tiger sitting on the pillow by the window!  For a brief moment I thought I had more than two cats.

I picked her up and took her back downstairs.    She started squirming but I was firm with her and put her in the sturdier carrier.  She started meowing as we were leaving.  I put her in the car and then took off.

When we got there we had to wait but she was really a good girl she only meowed a few times but was really good.  While we waited I had to go the ladies room and while I was there Tiger had been checked and given the high sign.  We were on our way home after 12.

I found out they bought new property and will be moving to a new location next year.  It is down the street from their current location in a place that holds a doggie daycare near the church.

Sky was still asleep when we got back so Tiger and I relaxed and watched TV and I did some crossword puzzles and had lunch.  I had to get ready again for Liz’s.

I wasn’t far from her house when she texted to see if I was late.  We agreed it would be 1:30.  I did tell her when I got there I had to reschedule the Assessment session for next week.  She asked if I won’t go until then.  I told her I planned on going this afternoon.  Its 7 and I am not going anywhere.

We spent the next 45 minutes looking over the new outfits and we agreed that they were great.  Except for the wrap dress.  It highlighted my butt in a negative way.  So now it is ready to be mailed back. Tomorrow.

We also talked about health both of ours.  We also talked about the FMLA stuff and finances.  It went pretty well.  It was then time for me to leave as she needed to take a nap before tonight’s Mardi Gra celebration at church.

She says the churches will have a new Mass schedule.  St Mary’s won’t have a 7 am mass.  But will have three masses on Sunday and 4:30 mass on Saturday.   I don’t think she said anything about Sunday afternoon but I guess I will find out at the next General Meeting.  St Agnes will have 1 mass on Saturday at 4:30 and two masses on Sunday.  I pointed out that this was the way the two churches in West Haven did before St John Vianney’s closed.  I have a bad feeling about this.  I hope I am wrong.

I should probably tell you that I have been doing more than crossword puzzles and channel surfing and web browsing.  I have managed to get a few loads of laundry done and hung up.  I actually need to check on them and get more hangers.

If I stay awake long enough I may get some letters written.  I do have a number that are overdue.

I really must have been thinking about this

Today’s #365 Day Question “IF you could do today over what part would that be” was on my mind today because the first thing I thought I did wrong was a conversation I was having with LeeP regarding our colleague’s loss yesterday.  Whenever we or I discuss death or the circumstances leading up to it I seem to say things wrong.  LeeP didn’t even think I said anything wrong but I felt I did.

I had another headache again.  I am not sure if it is me grinding my teeth or the way I slept or what I slept on or the atmospheric conditions going on.  It could be I was hungry as you know what.

I had a breakfast burrito this morning but it has done nothing to ebb the hunger.  I also did have a panini for lunch (vegetable). For lunch I had a vegetable panini.  It didn’t make the headache go.  I also took ibuprofen.  I thought it was not really working there either but I felt better by the midafternoon.  Dinner was from Shake shack.

I spent most of the day on mail. I had gotten a big mailing of the Connecticut Medical society newsletters for the doctors.  I decided to make labels just for them but I also had labels for the other doctors from another list that I used.

The mail was light and I was still working on the Healthlogic before I left for Debra’s office for our session.  I will have to finish that and the readdress mail tomorrow morning.

I went to the union committee meeting and we discussed the meeting that was tonight in favor of the Bridgeport MGM Casino project that will bring in union jobs from all aspects (from building to the actual day to day work).  Members of the MGM staff all over the country to provide stories and reasons it needs to happen.  I got to see many dignitaries of every level and even got a chance to chat with them.

I left there by 6:30 or so and started walking back to the car.  It was getting close to 7 and decided that I wasn’t going to the ladies guild.  So I sent an email letting them know I was coming.  I got a response later when I got home from JM.

On the way back to the car I stopped at Shake Shack and had dinner.  Their chicken sandwich was delicious (even with the crispy stuff on it).  I had a black and white shake that was awesome.  When I finished I headed back to the garage and to the car and drove home.

On the way home I called Liz and she and Nelson were on their way home from Fairfield visiting the kids. I told her about the meeting and it was clear she was not happy that the union was in support of this.  Oh well.

I managed to get home before 8.  I rushed to get Sky and Tiger fed and ran upstairs and settled into watch NCIS. I think they finished and Sky came up and meowed a few times and I kept calling him to the bedroom and finally came up and has been sleeping at my feet. Tiger has now arrived and is settling in next to him.

I enjoyed NCIS tonight.  It was weird seeing Tobias as PI but at least he is working.  I am glad that Gibbs is able to confide or talk with Sloane.  Gibbs has been written as close to the vest about things.  I wonder if the two month prisoner is just more of the changes over the years.  I am just waiting for the forums to start discussions.  Newbe has already.

Chairman Phil sent out the email alert today (about an hour ago) about the next committee meeting and people have already responded.  VC John was the first to reply for him and his wife.  (They are attending) and then four others said no.  I don’t think I have to tell you who declined right?

I never made it to the gym tonight for my treadmill session.  I could have used it but I also did a lot of walking around tonight.  I was/am tired and need to get to bed.

If the weather is bad tomorrow as they are saying I will need to leave early.  It is supposed to turn to rain later on in the day.

365 Day Questio: What is your favorite color?

Today’s #365 Day question is “what is your favorite color’.  I would have to say blue.  It’s the color of my eyes; it is the color of my car.  It is the most soothing and beautiful color.

Well I have had a long and somewhat fulfilling day.  We had our regular Sunday morning routine and I went back to bed for a very short time. Then as 7 am approached I managed to get showered and dressed and headed to the gym.  I saw Joey who gave me the tour and I told him my story of joining but not getting on any machines.  He just shrugged his shoulders and said it happens.  I checked in and headed to the locker room and put my stuff in a locker and then headed to a treadmill where I spent the next 30 minutes walking. I didn’t do very much after that except chat with another of the trainers/workers and she recommended that it would better to get the assessment before I use any other machines.  So I felt better and headed out the door.

I stopped at Pop’s diner for breakfast.  I was there for a half hour and had a short stack (I am sorry but I consider three a short stack) pancakes with turkey sausage and coffee and juice.  I was there for a half hour.  After that I headed home.

I headed home thinking I didn’t have all that I needed for grocery shopping.  So I came home and laid down and napped for a short time.  I did some surfing the net.  Around noon I headed to the store.

As I got into the store I soon discovered that it might have been a really bad idea to go at that time.  Between the normal Groceries shopping and last minute Super Bowl Party shopping it took me an hour to get the things I wanted.  I had forgotten a few I am sure.  I headed home by 1:30 which made me somewhat late for bingo.

Cole was there as well as Natalie.  I had a few moments to catch up with Natalie as she did some work and before she left for the day at 3. Bingo went well. One of our newest residents is a woman named Ann and is 100 years old and is pretty together.  I helped with the first few games and Cole helped her while I called the numbers.

It was after three when I left and it had been raining.  I was relieved I chose to go shopping earlier in the day.  However that didn’t stop me from going to pick up dinner (even though I had things in the house) and a few desserts.

The kitties were waiting for me by the door.  They had been upstairs for most of the afternoon in the spare bedroom.  So while they had their kibble I had my dinner and I closed the bedroom door.  They have been down stairs awhile and are just starting to come up one by one.

I got into my pajamas and put a load of clothes in.  I am going to have to take some time out tomorrow and hang the clothes I dropped into piles on the counter.  I finally took in the clothes from the tailor shop and hung them downstairs.

Among the web surfing I sent and answered some emails to Chairman Phil about this month’s 4th District meeting.  I wanted to know where and what time.  He turned around and asked if I would host it. I said of course and of the two dates he offered I picked Friday the 16th.  This news prompted me to start picking up stuff and looking around then I realized Livia is coming that same week.  I also set up the minutes to fill in when the night arrives.

The fans and viewers of NCIS had a nice surprise tonight.  CBS aired the episode “Burden of Proof”.  It was on in September or October sometime and I don’t know for sure but it is a nice Segway to this week’s episode dealing with the same bad guy.

Well I need to get to bed.  I am getting tired and it is almost 9:30.  Happy Super bowl Sunday everyone.

Today's Temperature was

Today’s #365 day prompt was about the temperature and so I went with this because it was cold here.  It was in the 20’s when I left and it didn’t get any higher than the low 30’s.  It is supposed to get into the high 20’s overnight.  I was getting tired of it but would realize that when it is 90 degrees and humid I will be kvetching about that as well.  The rest of the weekend is supposed to be in the mid to high 40’s with some rain at the end of the weekend.

The last couple of days have been busy and long.  I had my lupus appointment with Dr. Sonia yesterday and it was long.  I was like five minutes late but she was even later.  I didn’t get in to see her until maybe 3.  The nurse did the triage (the questions, and the BP and weight).  I was happy to see I lost a few more pounds.  I suspect I gained them back later on in the evening.  Things are looking good.  I managed to get out of there and on to the next event for the evening.

Last night was LAS’s retirement dinner at Biagetti’s in West Haven.  I was among many who got there around 4:30.  Seating was at 5.  There were a lot of people.  There were many I knew and many I didn’t.  Some were her family and friends she has known forever.  We ate by 7 and so many were bitching about the service.  Many knew the service was lousy but agreed the food was good.  I had a good time if were not for the woman who sat with us.  It was my team leader LC.  She bitches about everything.  Where is the potatoes, where is the vegetables?  I couldn’t wait to get out of there.  I was home by 8 or so.  I was in bed by 9.  A friend has posted some pictures on my FB time line if you would like to see it.

Today we had the in-house retirement party for LAS and it was well attended but everyone noticed a few people who came late and didn’t give a speech.  It was her supervisor and manager.  Luckily EH stepped up and so did another team leader.

In the hours leading up to the reception and afterwards was filled with the mail and scanning, and mailing the refunds out.  We found out that our collections and Patient service teams that have been at Science Park for the last month are returning to their home over at West Campus.

I came home and relaxed and then I went and got dinner from the New Haven Pizza place.  I had got wings.  They were delicious.  I also had white birch and cream soda. J

I did check in with the sibs and they are fine.  They were eager to start their weekends I think.  Sadly my Nephew’s ex GF lost her fur baby today.  He was a beautiful shepherd.  She isn’t going into details but only that she had to put him down.

The church is having a Sock Hop tonight at their parish hall.  I was entertaining the idea of attending but I was too tired.  They have a trip to DC planned for the spring time.  I hope they get a great response.  I can’t go though.

Sky and tiger had their kibble tonight it was the stuff from this morning.  I had refrigerated it because they barely touched it this morning but I didn’t add to it.  They finished it but two hours later they were both crying for more.  I gave them a treat instead.  They took turns coming upstairs and now only Tiger is here.

This weekend is fairly routine.  I have a hair appointment late in the morning.  That will give me some time to high tail it over to Kohl’s and get some clothes and then go to the gym.  In the afternoon I will run some errands and then get some grocery shopping done and then dinner and tomorrow night write some letters.

Sunday as I mentioned will be rainy but still a good time in the morning to go to the gym.  I will do the bingo in the afternoon.  Get some more letters written.

Monday I have to take the kitties to the vet for their dental procedure.  I will get them into the crates as soon as I get up.  They will be pissed but I won’t worry about it.  I have to figure out how I am going to do it.

Well I am starting to get tired.  I will see you tomorrow….

Sunday's #365 Prompt

Sunday’s #365 A day Question was not to be passed over.  It is what I did today.  Well I would have to say not so much.  I actually stayed in bed until 6:30.  It has been a while since I did that (during the holidays at least).

I managed to do the normal morning routine with the cats.  The rest of the time they split their time sleeping between the guest room, my room, and an occasional trip to the litterbox.  When it was time for bed they both came for a while.
I surfed the net, watched TV, made some calls, had breakfast, lunch and Pizza for dinner.  I slept and did a lot of crossword puzzles

What makes me smile: #365 Question Prompt 110201

First and foremost is my kitties.  I love waking up and they are coming to wake me to feed them and then they will be sleeping and the way they sleep.  In the human  part would be watching my nieces and nephews play and talk and just be themselves.

I really should learn to watch news in the morning because then I would have known not to get on the highway.  Maybe take part of the backroads.  I called Lauren.  I was about a min late.  Let’s hope traffic home isn’t bad.

Today has been about  finishing the mail from yesterday.  I got it done about 11.  THen I worked on some scanning and my hope was to go back to it once today’s mail was done.  WHich I did.  I did find the healthlogic delivery on my admin’s desk but didn’t take it.

I had my session with Courtney and we discussed the methods in which I am going to renew myself.  First start up with myfitnesspal, and cut back on red meat, and the soda and juice.  So Friday I am going to look at the Edge.    Then maybe Planet fitness.  I am not sure I want them in my checking account.  The prices for both seem good.

When i got home I got dinner from Adams.  Pork loin and carrots and roasted  potatoes.

What is my favorite snack?

When I read this my first reaction was oh I love everything.  It could be anything.  MOst of the time lately I have been eating chips and salsa, chips and guacamole.  The second would be any of the ice creams.  Every once in a while it would be a can of frosting.  Like I said  anything can be a snack for me. LOL

Work went well.  I got there before 8 and before my super...;)  He chuckled when I stood there in my cubicle waving.  I can’t remember what I did next.  I know I got coffee and started scanning for most of the morning.  I had a few issues with the system and AC helped with it.  She did tell me just to check them again and then shred the rest that i worked on.   Not sure i can do scanning in the morning.

I started on the mail for a while before I went to the Union committee meeting. EV is stepping down from her position on EB, the committee for personal reasons.  She has done it a few times but this time she needs to do she says.  Anyway, things over all seem okay on the floor...there are few things that need to be verified about a few jobs that have opened up.  We have a MLK rally/action on the 16th.

When I got back there seemed to be lot of mail.  Started working on that and the stuff I had picked up earlier from the lobby.  Of course today was the big Healthlogic delivery and I never get through that until Wednesday.

I did find myself feeling that we are (or I am) getting back into a normal routine t work.  It feels good to think that way but I get the feeling something will get thrown around and changes.

I put in PTO for Friday.  I let B knw but he hadn’t seen it before he left for the day.  I hope it gets approved.  I just feel like having a long weekend.  It's not like I haven’t had one in the last few weeks.

My session with Debra was good.  I told her about the holidays, my relationship with Dave and the recent conversation i had with Liz.   We may have to have a phone session for next week.

On the way home I went to Chipotle Mexican Grille for dinner.  I had three medium sized tacos.  I had them when I got home.  It was steak and pork and it was delicious but not enough.  I had open faced grilled cheese.  That filled the bill.

The kitties were waiting for me when I got home.  They stayed to themselves for most of the night and came to me only a couple a times before I went to bed.  I expect both of them on the bed as I go to sleep.

The snow is melting  the temps got up into the low 40’s and as I am heading to bed its 33 degrees.  It is supposed to get a little cooler but not by much.  It will freeze everything that has melted.

The laptop has been acting weird again.  A message has popped up that the fan in the laptop is not working well and it will cause documents and programs to die or do something I am going to have to take it to get fixed.

Well its getting late and I need to get to sleep..

What is the last good thing you ate? 1/8/2018 365 day prompt

I made a chicken dish from no particular recipe that I know of but it had chicken breast strips that I had just gotten at the store last night and 1 cup of sour cream, 1 envelope of Lipton onion soup, a bit of salt,  I mixed them together until coated and then put them in a baking dish and sprinkle bread crumbs and then grated cheese and cooked for about 25 minutes.  IT was moist and delicious.  I had a small dish of peas w/butter.  It was quite good.

I was late to work today and was spoken to about it.  So I made the promise I would either call if I am going to be late (which I think usually do) or get here earlier aka on time.  It’s weird almost every year at some point I end up being late.  I started the day scanning and out of the 38 batches I wrote the wrong date on.  I put in for my two appointments at the end of the month.  Nearly confused PBC on the dates.

There was snow predicted for this afternoon and it really didn’t start until I left the city.  It really wasn’t bad and I was grateful because I still had stop at the store for a few things.  It really didn’t last too long. I was quite surprised to see channel 8’s Meteorologist Kevin Arnone post that he is leaving the station later on this month.  He thanked everyone for the support and the opportunity.  He is not the only one.  Renee Chmiel is also.  She was their reporter and on air anchor a few times.  To be honest wasn’t impressed with her.

I did some laundry and had dinner now I am going to relax and then go to bed early.

What Possession Could I not live without

There is only a couple of things I couldn’t live without.  They would be my laptop and my TV.  I love to surf the net/web and I also like to do a lot of writing.   I have been an avid TV watcher all my life. I like being entertained.  It could be anything…that holds my interest.

The thermostat was low again today and I turned it up.  Happily the heat went up and stayed to 70 but I stayed up in the bedroom that seems to be a little warmer even though I can feel the cold. It was much better than the temps outside.  From what I read IT was 7 degrees early in the morning. By Mid-day it was 15 and now its 9 degrees.  Definitely stayed in under the blankets.

Been trying to read some of the blogs on WordPress and not all of them are showing up whether it is under the tags or readers list.  Not sure what the problem is.  Frustrating to say the least.  I probably could read it on the other computer.

The cable guide on the cable system wasn’t working for most of the day until about 1.  I am not sure why it was but it was annoying and I had to use the TV Guide site. Meh.  I was doing a lot of channel surfing and trying to find the new channels that Optimum now has.  I saw the Cowboy channel and it has mostly rodeo shows, business stuff pertaining to the cowboy world and a few movies.  The other three might be HD and the little TV upstairs doesn’t get that one.  Once I get the Other TV reset I will find out.  I do get Flix TV.

Didn’t get much mail.  Stuff for the woman’s Club and I will send that out this week I will include a letter to Telka.  I do want to get a card for our friend Pat who has been ill.  I want to be able to tell her I sent it to her.

My holiday card to my cousin Tommy and his family was returned.  I hate when that happens.  So I contacted his wife and hopefully she will see it and send me the address.

I found out that my Brother has a new girlfriend!  He sent us a picture from New Year’s Eve and he was with a lady.  So I asked him about it today.  He admitted she was his girlfriend and have been going out for a while.  She lives about 20 minutes from him.  So they see each other from time to time.

What was the Last Major Accomplishment Prompt January 5, 2018

I am sure I have had a few more recent accomplishments like making it home in one piece today after yesterday’s storm.  But I can’t help but think back to my Car accident in September.  I was for the most part calm.  I wasn’t hurt but my 2002 car eventually had to be totaled and I ended up buying a newer car.  I had my BIL with me but I did most of the business part (really don’t know how I managed to do it).  I do love my car though.

Today was a semi quiet day.  Staff compliment was probably half of normal.  By the end of the day I wished I had stayed home.  Issues with the mail again.

It was quite cold.  I got into the car it was 15 degrees and by the time I got home it was 9 degrees.  I stopped for gas and glad I did.  However didn’t get the receipt.  Haven’t kept up with that file either.

I called Liz tonight.  We talked for about half hour.  She did well with the Chemo but it was a challenge to get it.  Her parking garages and sidewalks were like mine in the city.  Not so good.  She had all these plans for tonight and hopefully she would sleep.  Will have to find out if she did.

The thermostat for the house turned itself down yesterday.  It was 62 when I got in.  I told Liz about it she offered that it saved me money by doing that.  I have a feeling she was wondering why I don’t put plastic over the windows until I get them replaced. I would rather not.  I will just have to keep turning it up or put on layers of clothes or curl up in the bed like I did tonight.

Last Day of Vacation

Considering that today is my last day of vacation.   I am going to make sure things that were not done (housework mostly) are done...
