Didn't stay up as late

I ended up going to bed my normal 10 pm time.  The kitties came with me for a few hours.  I did write some on the computer but not long.  I had warm milk and needed to get to bed.  I hung up the clothes in the laundry area and will put them away tonight when I get home.  The reason I decided to forgo the all nighter is I would be unable to function today in any capacity.

I was supposed to be here early so that MS and I could steam the very heavy winter coat I have been wearing.  IT didn’t happen.  I got here just before 8.  But we did do it at break time and it looks great.  MS has to leave early today.

I was relieved when the committee meeting was cancelled today.  Mostly because of the holiday (  people were going to leave early etc).  We do have a membership meeting on the 16th (again).

I emailed Liz this morning to find out the details for Thanksgiving.  It looks like the munchies are being served by 1 and dinner is 2.  That gives me a couple of hours to sit and relax and eat and then head home.  I am debating whether or not I will drive up myself or hitch a ride with Liz (but I am leaning to driving up myself as Liz now has bronchitis-again).

David Cassidy has gotten worse. There has already been a couple of fake news reports of his death and a former coworker believed it.  Of course the headline is misleading it goes into more detail but I still posted they should check more reliable sources as there hasn’t been anything more. All though it wouldn’t surprise me if by the end of the night he does pass.  Of course I will be sad he was a part of my childhood.  I will be sending prayers to him and his family.

Tonight is NCIS.  It should be good.  I have a feeling that will be it for first run episodes until after the holiday.  Then it will only be a few weeks until the winter Olympics.  I seem to remember reading that CBS wasn’t going to air new episodes during the olympics.

I can’t believe that more and more prominent men are now being accused of sexual misconduct.  The latest is Charlie Rose who was fired from CBS and his shows on PBS are taken off and also Jeffrey Tambor from Transparent.  It seems like they just popped up.  I respected Charlie Rose for his interviews now..not so much.

I got home just before 5 and the kitties didn’t come down right away.  I had to call for them.  I was making a bowl of cereal when I felt this soft and furry body walk in between my legs.  A short time later Princess Tiger was already out back

Since i Have been home I moved the laundry ahead and still have a little more to go.  I took a shower in between and now just waiting for NCIS.

Yesterday was a huge success

Yesterday was an absolute beautiful day. It started off with going to church early in the morning while Mom did some cooking and last minute preparations for the Meet and greet. After church I went to the store and got some cards and some goodies to bring to work.

Mom went to the store while I got the cards for the shower ready and then I hung out until Mom got back and then I went out and got some more loaves of bread for sandwiches. Mom continued to get the rest of the food in order and I got ready for the shower.

I left around 12:30 and managed to get to the Center of North Haven (where the GPS said I had arrived at my destination). The only problem was I couldn’t find it. I got a little panicky and hyper. Yes I admit it I was freaked. I made calls left and right. I finally got a hold of my family. They were at the Mason Lodge 100 feet down the street from me.

When I arrived the appetizers were being served. Lisa was crowned “Mommy to be” and so I sat w/ Nelson’s sisters and nieces. A short time later Liz and Nelson went to pick up a surprise guest for Lisa. It was her mother who flew in from Seattle Washington. The mother was in NY for the last few days and no one told Lisa…it was great.

For the main course there was chicken, ziti, rice and beans, and macaroni and cheese. After the luncheon Lisa opened presents. Cheryl took pictures (still none of me but I don’t want to go there). The party was over by 3:30-4 pm. We helped clean up and then I said goodbye.

I got as far as the church next door. Apparently Sunday was Bless the Animals day and there was this beautiful horse. Speckled grey horse that was 15 hands high he was a little shy but his rider/owner was right there. There were also several dogs both inside and out.
I chatted with the father of the horse owner and come to find out he worked at a Gas Station up the street from here.

Once I left North Haven I was back at the house by 5. There were several people already there. The girls from Bible Study and of course Mike and Tessa, Sylvia and Mike Smith were among the earlier birds after a while more and more came. The candidates also came as well. All in all 35 to 40 people came. Rich S had some opening remarks and then introduced all the candidates before each of them spoke. Every one of them thanked Mom for putting this on and at one point right after Congresswoman DeLauro spoke Rich presented Mom with a citation from the Attorney General for the thirty years of hosting the Meet and Greet. Everyone started to leave around 7 or so and there were plenty of people helping clear up.

At one point I had to excuse my self to make the phone squad messages but the computer wasn’t cooperating. I did come down to help some more. Then I watched POTC 3. Most of the stuff that was left had to be done this morning. Mom and I went to bed about midnight.

Today being Columbus Day there was hardly anyone else on the road and the drive to work was pretty good. The rest of the day was a bit long. I didn’t have a lot of mail to open but spent most of it readdressing mail and getting it ready for the campus mail the next day.

Mom spent the day cleaning up the rest of kitchen and putting away stuff from the night before. I think she may have had a meeting or two.

After work I went to Debra and shared with her the adventures and tense moments of the past week. She agreed that people should not be telling me what I should be talking to my therapist about. She feels that when I am feeling good about myself I don’t think about the painful events that have been in my past.

After my session I came home. Mom and were going to have sandwiches and salad for dinner and spend the rest of the night quietly. I finished the phone squad messages a little while ago.

Now I am going to go to bed.

I was apparently not as tired as I wrote last night. I was up way past midnight emptying out emails again. This time it was from my AT*T-yahoo account. There was a whole bunch of Birthday reminder from one of my pen pal groups from 2008. I was going to add them to either my birthday list or journal folders but the reminders were usually a month ahead of the date. I couldn’t be bothered.

I did revise my to-do list for this coming week. I put it up on my bulletin board so I can look at it every day and check it off. I was going to my calendar up as well but there isn’t enough room right now. Actually the picture that is there now probably could come down.

I ended up sleeping until 7 and was rushing around getting ready. I ended up being 15 minutes late for work. Unfortunately for most of the day I was so sore and stiff from the weekend it took most of the day to feel better. Unfortunately walking was a little difficult for my left foot.

When I told Mom about it because she could hear me swearing and whimpering in pain she found an article that indeed explained that I do have arthritis in the foot. I had told her about it when the doctor told me when I sprained my ankle.

I met with Debra this afternoon after work. Mom went to Bridges today at some point. I don’t think she had meetings per se but needs to sign some stuff related to the business.

Other than that we will probably continue working on getting ready for the meet and greet. Oh did I tell you how many are “supposedly” coming? We are expecting Twenty-five as of last count. One called yesterday to say she wasn’t coming but she didn’t give a reason. She usually does attend. I am going to take a wait and see attitude because usually when people say them come and they don’t I get really pissed.

I am working until 6 tomorrow night and then coming home and settling in to watch NCIS. From all the promos that have been posted I think I am going to like this one.

In the mean time I am going to just go to bed.

I am glad this week is almost over

As I mentioned earlier this week I was indeed busy as indicated here and in this entry. There were some rough moments and moments that were not so bad.

. Mom has been busy with all the stuff she normally does. In her concern for the internet and stuff she forwarded one of those “email alerts for viruses and hoaxes” from a friend of hers. After I read it I searched out Snopes (it was the one about Hallmark greeting card) and I sent a link to Mom. I called her up and made her aware of it. I also told her that she needs to tell her dumb ass friends to stop freaking sending these out! She was trying to say it was legitimate blah-blah and it really freaking annoyed me because the entire email was verbatim for what it was on the snopes.com site. She avoided the whole discussion and jumped on the fact I was online a lot. Something that freaking pisses me off because well it’s none of her business. She was asking me how many breaks etc. I finally had to tell her I had to get back to work. Later on during dinner I told her I would be mindful of online activity but to be honest. I shouldn’t have to.

She did some other stuff this week that was equally annoying. She repeated comments that Sylvia (my neighbor) made towards Tessa our friend in the DTC when Sylvia found out Tessa took Mom to antiques store and sold it in New Haven. Obviously it hurt/angered Tessa and I don’t understand why she even said anything. I made mention of it this morning and she said “don’t put so much emotion into it!” If I did something like that my ass would be on the fucking floor.

She did have her 66th Class Reunion and had a great time. It was a luncheon instead of a dinner as I previously thought. It was held at a local restaurant and apparently the food was superb.

The 4th District meeting went well despite the low turnout. When I made mention of the fact that it was summer and vacation time it was acknowledge as not a good reason and it in essence they are right. I got the minutes written up that night and emailed to everyone by 6:30 last night. Mike made a comment earlier that I didn’t mention about the attendance and I responded that it was decided that I not say anything that it was the chairman’s job to do so. When I talked to Mom about she said I gave a good answer. She wasn’t jumping over rainbows at how the minutes were written and she will be giving me “pointers”. I am trying to be open but really it’s not for her to do. I don’t know how to explain it.

The rest of my work week was a huge success. I managed to get everything done and spent time in cleaning my office. I was also able to do a few extra hours on the scanning projects. I worked today from 12:30 to 4:30 because of the Oyster Festival. On Friday we found out that LG is returning to work part time. That has some a little annoyed. The rest of us are dreading her return because she is the “drama queen”.

Earlier in the week we discovered that a Laptop with patient information was stolen within the Medical school last month. The theft was made public by the newspaper by Tuesday and the Dean sent out a FYI. What this means is there will be new protocols put in place for use of laptops and patient info outside. The State Attorney General’s Office (currently Richard Blumenthal) has launched a full investigation. Yale is cooperating. Of course The New Haven Register allowed some stupid ass people to make comments that had nothing to freaking do with the article. OF course it is no better at WTNH.com.

The woman’s club is having the first of two ice cream socials tomorrow. It’s at 6:30 and I have no idea what I am going to wear. I am probably going to wear one of my dresses with a sweater. I have to get some ice cream.

I saw Liz a couple of times this week. The first time was when she came over with Nelson on Thursday to help Mom with hanging the curtains. Apparently she didn’t like the white walls and that there should be more “color” to the rooms. Mom and I spoke up about the picture snafu. She had taken a few of me of the party so now I don’t feel so bad. I saw her again today at the festival. We talked about walking and stuff.

Everyone in her family is doing okay. Everyone is busy with work. The grandkids are getting ready for school. Some good news that I found out about Chris (my nephew and her son) He had been working at Savin Rock Roasting Company Restaurant in Stratford. And as of last Sunday he started working there. It is a franchise of the one in West Haven.

I haven’t heard from Bob or Ethel but Diane has been posting to facebook frequently. She is having a great time in Toronto. When she is not performing she is exploring the city. The show is closing there on September 5. Then it moves back to the states. John is North Korea. He has not posted in a few days.

Mom talked with Jim yesterday. The kids are staying with him while their mother is in NY for a few days. Kristina is still trying out for the tennis team at school. She also passed all of her summer school courses. Emily has been posting videos from her adventures at Camp to facebook. Jamie is keeping busy as well. He is experimenting in swearing and impressing people on Facebook.

I took my friend Dave out for his birthday last night. I took him to the Savin Rock Roasting Company I mentioned earlier. It was okay. I found myself getting annoyed with Dave when he asked me about working on Saturday s and working until 6. I have told him at least six times since I have started doing OT and this just reminds me he doesn’t listen. Anyway we had a nice dinner he had chicken and I had lobster pasta (it was very rich for me) and we Bruchetta, salad, and dessert. He had pineapple upside down cake and I had tiramisu and this thing was huge. We were treated to music provided by the restaurant. After dropping him off I came home

Okay I have gotten clothes out of the dryer and taken some warm milk its time for me to say good night. Have a great one.

April 5, 2010

Hey everyone….its Monday night and I am exhausted. I got up finally by 6 and was ready to go by 7. Cousin Joe was lying in bed channel surfing and I had a moment to chat with him before going. It was really cursory actually “love your job?” “Absolutely!" Go Get em!

I stopped at the Dunkin Doughnuts by the highway and got coffee. The same clerk waited on me from Sunday. We chatted about our holiday and we agreed it was wonderful.

I got to work at a decent hour. I started working on stuff that I didn’t finish on Thursday. I dropped it off and when I got back Lou from the courier service was dropping off the stuff. We talked about our holidays and the next time he would be back. After I took care of the new stuff and got Claudia to send me a new spreadsheet I did some more stuff.

I did some dishwashing and rearranged my desk to see how the new mail sorter will look and I think it will do just fine. Claudia couldn’t measure it today as she wasn’t feeling well and decided to go home early.

As always there will be people annoying me. This week it started early. People who should know better then to ask stupid questions asked “is this campus mail?” There is huge ass sign that says “campus mail” right in front of them. I asked where it was going. Their response was “all over”. Another stupid ass conversation is with LG. She is persistent about me making sure I tell Gayle that I can’t access the scanning equipment on two computers. She reminded me the IT guy was back from Paternity Leave. Like I could Miss seeing this 6ft dude walking around? Today was NOT the day to be worrying about scanning machines. I had two and half day’s worth of mail to open. I have not finished it yet either.

I had lunch today from Paula’s Restaurant. It was spicy burrito and two packages of chips two sodas. I knew it was going to give me trouble. I had been feeling achy earlier in the day and figured what the heck. Bring it on. Boy I was sorry because it hurt to move around and walk. I am still having a little trouble walking as it is. I took the Ibuprofen and plaquenil earlier so I am going to take more Ibuprofen again before hitting the sack.

I saw Debra today. She called earlier to ask if we could meet at 5 pm. I didn’t object. The session went by quickly. I told her of the weeks events and how successful went. She was pleased. We are going to be meeting on Wednesday next week. I didn’t ask but that’s okay.

Jim and Joe left here around 10 this morning. According to Mom they stopped at the cemetery to place flowers at our collective family’s graves. They also stopped by to see Liz. Mom had gotten a call back from Jim tonight to let us know. They arrived to Allentown safe and sound by 6.

I couldn’t believe the news today. Continuing news comes out of Baja California after that area was hit by 7.2 earthquake. The news continues to cover the sex abuse scandal that is raging through Europe right now. Tonight I heard about an accident in West Virginia.

Okay I just realized this maybe a lot of rambling and I apologize but like I said when this started I am very tired. I am going to rectify that right now.

Last Day of Vacation

Considering that today is my last day of vacation.   I am going to make sure things that were not done (housework mostly) are done...
