  I was so intent on getting to work early that I forgot the laptop for the committee meeting today.  I didn’t go far but went back in to get it.  I didn’t realize I left the adaptor plugged in back home.  I also couldn’t find my atm card.  I am hoping it's on the desk in the living room or in my pants I wore yesterday. I have been working on kitty care instructions for Liz to have while I am in Allentown and I had a few problems.  It wouldn’t work at first.  It finally did.  I just hope she can differentiate between the two without the colored in.   Right now I have a couple who are anxious to know exactly what is in the contract.  They have asked me in the last couple of days and one has been sending emails to Elia in a demanding way it sounds.  I emailed Organizer Barbara letting her know that people have been asking me and I haven’t given them any answers.  Not sure what I could say or not say.  To be honest It we...

  Since I posted the last entry I have clearly been dragging my heels.     I made lunch, made my bed and folded some clothes.     I kept sitting down and watching TV many times.     I kept thinking I have plenty of time.   Never did have coffee visit with Liz.  She did call around lunch time but I missed it. I called her around 3.  WE talked for about five minute.  She wanted to know if I got the car washed and I told her know.  She also wanted to know if I got things together.  We went through the checklist.   I know she had stuff to do and a dinner last night.  The last time I saw her was at Mama Teresa’s restaurant.  We both were picking up our dinner.  I don’t remember her saying they would do that so it was very weird. Anyway, now that it’s nine I am going to bed.  I kept falling asleep during the NCIS marathon.   I have already ...

  Last Saturday was the literary lunch at Cyns.   I left the house a little after 10 with my contribution to the afternoon festivities.   I stopped and talked with one of my neighbors and picked up the mail.   After that I took off and noticed it would be early so I stopped at McDonalds for breakfast and then kept going.   When I got to Guilford I went to the Business next to the parking lot and realized I went too far so I turned around and parked.   A few minutes later Gillion came and then we took off for Cyn’s place.   We were early and the first ones there.   A little awkward at first but it was short lived.   There were twelve originally supposed to be there but there were ten of us including Deb who I recently met.   Her husband is an anesthesiologist at Yale.   We spent the next several hours talking and eating.   It was great.   Unfortunately,   the whole theme about books never got off the ground nor...

It is after 7:30 and I have been up a while now.   We did the normal morning routine and I have been checking emails and catching up before I heat up the appetizers.   It all should take about 15 minutes so I am thinking 9 am doing that and getting dressed and showered while they are cooking.   I have a cake pan that I can use to transport. The weather right now is partly cloudy and in the upper 60’s.   There is light rain predicted but nothing that should deter the day.   I heard TS Odette is forming and heading out to see. I don’t know if it will affect us or not. I checked the mail online and there is something from the property management.   I started getting anxious.   I guess it’s a quarterly statement but the only thing else I get is the newsletter.   It’s too early for that I think.   My Friday was fine until I was about to leave for work.   I discovered I had left my ID badge with my entire life in it.   Yep, license, debit, you name it.   I looked all over the house and in the garbage can, and in the car.   I drove extra carefully this morning.   I had to ask a coworker to let me in.   I was relieved when I found my ID stuff on the desk.   It is now in my bag until I need them, which will be when I need to use the copier or pick up mail at the front door.   I made a mess at dinner time last night, I was making scrambled eggs and I dropped the bowl inside the microwave.   Nothing broke but there was egg all over the counter and inside the micro.   I had moved some stuff and forgot the egg carton was still on the counter.   They landed on the floor.   Let’s just say in my frustration I made an even bigger mess.   The one bright spot is my neighbor Mim is home and doing fine.   I saw ...

  I was feeling blah today.   I was still reeling over the money I shelled out for the new glasses I got on Tuesday.   There was a discount program at the place and insurance wouldn’t have covered it.   The reading strength was changed.    I had to use a credit card so I was also anxious over that.   The Doctor was pleased with everything else.   Unfortunately, my eyes were dilated until about 8 so that made me tired.   As I was leaving for the meeting last night the emergency squad pulled up and headed to Neighbor Mim’s unit.   I didn’t go over but I couldn’t help but start to cry.    I didn’t see her family there but if they were I didn’t want to intrude.   I had to maneuver around the fire truck because it was blocking me.   As I was driving towards the driveway some of the ladies I chatted with were watching from their prospective homes.   I felt guilty for not visiting Mim more than I have.   When I...

  Nine months ago was our official first night/move in day at the condo.     We pickmonths earlier and LawyerBob 1 made an offer on the condo.     On the 10th moved out of the ed the condo house on the 10th, and that saturday in the rain the furniture and everything else arrived.     I spent the next couple of days unpacking and setting up.     The condo was signed for on the 14th at 6 pm.     After Liz and I finished shopping for things for the condo we went back to her house and I picked up the cats and my suitcase and headed back to the condo.     Been there ever since.     All the furniture is in its place.     There are some pictures up but not all.     Overall, I love my condo.  Maybe there are a few things that need replacing or updating like teh shower head in the bathroom, or the backdoor that needs replacing.  I love my neighbor's exception when a few of them star...

  This may be short as I am so tired.   After posting yesterday’s entry at 5 in the morning I went to sleep.    The cats were in a huff about that. We did our regular routine then went back to bed.   I woke up again around 8. I downed about 4 cups of coffee before my sister came over at noon.   I spent the time watching TV, picking up here and there and then showered. When Liz arrived, Tiger hurriedly headed to my room and sat under the bed while I found Sky under the blankets for the second time this weekend.   It was 80 degrees but I didn’t have the AC on but the fan. When she said down she said she was in a mood.   I laughingly said well if that’s the case go home. I wasn’t cranky but I was exhausted.   We never gave into the threats. We spent the next 4 hours talking about stuff.   We discussed how much we enjoyed the ghost/spirit walk Friday night.   My feet died by the end of the tour but I had the wrong shoes on. ...

  It’s been 20 years since the day we all watched the Towers go down.   I was at work.   Most of us were either glued to the nearest radio, or computer to watch the images.   I remember at one point I called both my Mother and My brother J.   Mom was in Hartford at a bunch of meetings.   She bristled when she called me and reminded me that nothing was going to happen at the state capital.    Jim was working in Philadelphia for the DOT.   He called and said he was safe. I know it isn’t just the towers but the plane crashes into the pentagon, and the Pennsylvania field.   Subsequently I believe we would watch those videos as well. My colleagues were all getting upset by the news.   One of President Bush’s Daughters who was attending the University was literally whisked off the campus by security and I believe sent back home.   I remember our administration gathered us together and reassured us that we were safe and if anyone ...

I think the laptop is dying or hacked.  Several times a blue screen that says the device has problems.  They are collecting data and will restart. I really don't want get a new one.  I haven't backed up my files.

  I was hoping or planning on going for a walk this morning but I don’t usually like walking in the rain.   So if there is a break in the rain I will go.   I know I am a wuss.   I sometimes think because I am getting older I don’t want to fall.   I remember I did a walk with my Friend Joan and I stepped in mud and slid and fell.    I didn’t hurt anything but my pride I think.   I got wet and cold. So the ladies guild meeting went well.   We have our annual kickoff dinner/scholarship presentation and I have to be there to set up with Ann to register people.   I don’t have to have the membership list but I will want to update it.   I made it known to at least Ann that I am taking this on next time.   We have a few things that are coming up in the next few months that should be fun.   It is after 10 am and I haven’t done much.   The daily morning routine got done.   Thankfully there was nothing on the floor-yet.   The day is young.     Then I watched a few hours of the 55 anniversary Star Trek Marathon. I have the ladies guild meeting tonight and I think I better spend time updating the membership list and seeing what else we can do to drum up members.   I think we have a lot to begin with.   Frankly I don’t know what else should be done.   I still think it was a mistake for me to take this on Sky has been getting into the coffee clutch cabinets successfully.   I have gotten him out of there but he tried several other times since.   I blocked it with my hands and a step stool but I will have to get those baby proof things installed after all.   I got up early and fed the best kitties ever.    I was relieved that there were no messes on the bathroom floor this morning.   So they got the appropriate praise.   They looked at me and waited to be fed.    I made some coffee first because I had gone to bed sometime after midnight I fell asleep in the middle of the star trek movie marathon.   It starts up later today so I may watch it. I opened the windows already it feels nice.   I am not sure how long that’s going to last.   I noticed that a tree has already changed its leaves.   It was in the high 50’s by 7.   It was 80 degrees all day and sunny. I took a look at the map and times for travel for the hike tonight in Vernon and   as much as I would like to go I would have to leave at 4 to get there on time (they are meeting at five thirty)   and I wouldn’t get home until   9:30.   I am not familiar with the area up there.   I know that in th...

  I was going to write something Quirky about Labor Day but decided not to but leave this explanation.   My memories of the holiday over the years included picnics with family and friends, and as I got older it was a sign for going back to school.   At the same time it was also memories of taking trips or my vacations from work.   It was also just relaxing and or preparing for the week ahead. I wasn’t sure exactly what I was doing today.   There seems to be a lot going on today fairs, activities, or I just might stick close to home again and do a few things.   I have wanted to clean out the car for the longest time and since the weather will be cooperating why not. A part of me doesn’t want to go out and spend any more money than what I have in the last few days and for me the best way is to stay home.   Yes I realize I could also spend money online but I don’t want to.   I cleaned out my car and then chatted with Neighbor Paula.   She ...

  Later this afternoon I will return to the nursing home to play bingo.   I was given the word last week from Natalie that they reopened the facility and having group activities.   I will need to have my vaccination card copied and bring my appointment book with me so that we can go over the dates I will be able to do bingo.   Let’s hope this will be the last quarantine for a while.   I also hope I stay awake for it. For some reason after I posted the last entry I couldn’t sleep.   I don’t know if it is because I watched Tiger stumble into the bedroom and plop down on the floor or not.   She managed to get up and get herself on the bed for a bit.   She didn’t stay long.   She had enough grooming from Sky and went to her new favorite spot of late under the kitchen table.   Thursday night my brother sent me a text that I didn’t see until yesterday morning.   He wanted to know Where Mom was born and the name of the hospital.   I wasn’t sure and so I checked with Liz.   She thought it was Milford but she said she would look.   I already knew the answer and told him.   Late last night he sent us both a text letting us know that the he and Janis turned in marriage application.   They are planning on getting married on October 1. When I got the news I replied awesome news.   There was nothing from Liz.   When I spoke to her via text late this morning, we didn’t even speak of it.   I suspect she said “swell”.    She didn’t offer congratulations.   I am sure she will say something when we see each other at coffee, a meal, or whatever is coming up.   By 1:30 I finished the vacuuming.   I stopped long enough to call Mama and serenade her and catch her up with things here.   I think I may have told her everything and ultimately I forget something.   I put the furniture blankets into the wash and then watched TV for a bit.   Then I got dressed and headed to Target.   I gave myself an hour to shop for the things I needed.   When I got back I did what most would call a half ass job of wrapping but got it done.   I also had a conversation with President Frank.   I wanted to be sure I didn’t step over bounds the other week (He barely remembered it) and then asked me if I had heard him argue with the lawn guy this week.   I told him no.   Apparently a rumor started going around that he fired the lawn guy and he surmised because he did it in front of my unit that I was the one who started it.   I said no. However, I am beginning to understand some people’s views on this guy. ...
