I have been home since 12:30 and have been waiting ever since for furnace guy and Medical Supply Co to get here and do their freaking job. If they were going to be late they should have called me.   I wasted several hours of personal time for this.   I finally called the oil company and J&L and neither was available.   I am also annoyed because I rescheduled my appointment with Debra to become a phone session during the weekend.   I did manage to gather the supplies and hope he will take them without problems.   I think I have everything from everywhere I could think of.   AT least the closet in the guest room is a lot emptier.    My night stand by my bed has more space to clear off. I found myself trying to going through some shelves in the attic stairway and the titans both went up.   I didn’t panic too much I did go upstairs to look through a few things to see what is up there. Well the guy came shortly before 12 and took a look at the situation and pulled out the machines from the laundry closet and discovered the ventilator was clogged and crimped.   So $91 dollars later the hose was cut from it and a new one put in (so like TOH) and it is working now-I think.   There was a lot of lint and dust coming out of that hose.   I asked him if it would have caused a fire and no it wouldn’t.   The rest of the afternoon I spent doing crossword puzzles, napping and watching TV.   Saw movies and shows that I hadn’t seen in a while including Walter Matthau’s first dramatic (and his first role ever) in the Kentuckian.   I always thought that was also John Wayne’s Vehicle. Around 5 I ordered pizza and salad.   It came an hour later.   They didn’t have the salad I wanted and they tried to call me.    I will eat the salad later.   Drinking lots of water though. I am home today waiting for the washing machine repair man to come.  He is going to be here between 11 and 1.  I finally took the sheets out of the washing machine but made a bigger mess.  I put them in one of the old Litter Containers and the water went everywhere.  It got me to thinking maybe it's time I went and got another laundry basket.  I actually don’t have any around anymore.  I don’t normally use them as I am afraid I will fall down the stairs with it in my hands. Since its not snowing or raining out yet. I do know I have to clean out my car before I meet up with Tina tomorrow.  Its got the normal papers on the floor (garbage) and the food carriers in the back.   Once the repairman finally leaves I am heading to the store to get the TV.  It is a great price and I want it this weekend (no not for the game) I am just tired of the sound not working.  It’s going to be from BestBuy and its an LG 49 inch LED 1080p smart HDTV Bla...

Work is going okay.  We received announcement that in July new CFO will be starting.  It has been said by many he will be a hands on type of employer.  He will be coming from UT Medical Center in Dallas.  Morning activities kind of slow until lunchtime when the work comes in.  Have been helping out with sending out refund checks.   The Arts and Ideas festival continues for another four days and as usual I haven’t gotten there.  As usual by the time I get home I don’t usually want to come back into the city.  Traffic has been bearish.  On the weekends I haven’t felt like going back in because I want to relax and now will have to start preparing for my NC trip. I haven’t done much with the woman’s club but called Dr. T today but she wasn’t home.  We haven’t had any more interaction with the state org regarding the dues situation but I will find out soon if we are or what the next step is.  I will probably also find out w...

Early this morning I booked my flight to North Carolina and I got a good deal on it (price is probably a better word for it) now all that is left is getting a limo ride up to Hartford.  I just would need someone to drop me off and pick me up from the limo locations.  I am trying to figure out what is the best and cheapest to go.  If I get the limo out of new haven it looks like it will be under $100 round trip if I take it out of Milford it would be $15 to $20 more.  I can make reservations a week before the flight.  When I do I will park the car in the garage and walk over to the hotel near my office. The kittens were not happy with me this morning.  I lured them in to the upstairs bathroom with food and tried to shut the door before they could get out and nearly clobbered poor Tiger in the head.  I had to get her again and put her in the bathroom.  As I look back not so bad.  Sky on the other hand took me about 20 minutes to get him....

I knew it would only be a matter of time before the kittens got to the lamp in the spare bedroom.  I was in the shower yesterday morning and I heard this loud thud.  I didn’t run immediately to find out I figured I would see it when I got upstairs.  When I went to clean the litter box I notice the lamp was missing.  It was upside down.  The base of the lamp that’s made of glass and shells inside wasn’t broken.  But the frame of the shade was.  That was the moment I decided I would move the litter box and close off the room to them.  So when I got home last night I moved it and they seemed to find it easily.  They hadn’t the gumption to push it open until recently.  I can’t be bothered to keep closing it.  The door is old and not fit the frame.

November 24, 2013 Dear Friends:     Our furnace stopped working late this afternoon.  Mom noticed how cold it got after I came home from going to the store for a few things.  We  didn’t think anything of it except find an electric heater for the back room.  We couldn’t find it.  Mom  decided to check the  furnace.  Happily the repairman is here to  repair it.  I can hear Mom talking to someone.  I guess the computer board on the furnace burned out.  Apparently Mom told T M and she  made arrangements for another DTC member come over with a room heater.   He just arrived and probably just left.  It was really very nice of her to do this.  TM just called us to for an update.  I am almost done with the laundry.  I really don’t want to do anymore right now but I won’t be  able to do any while the family is here.  I might finish it tomorrow night if at all possible. For the last couple of days I have been rushing around.  I overslept on Thursday and was caught in traffic getting off the street and coming home for the last two days. Work has been busy but good got a lot done but as always still have lots to do.  The retirement party for Hyacinth was wonderful saw many people I haven’t seen in a long while.   The weather has been chilly and had more rain.  It rained a little while I was at the retirement party but I was trying to remember if it rained earlier in the day  For some reason I couldn’t. I have also been preoccupied with some stuff here at home.  Mom has been disappointed in my housekeeping skills lately.  I have been pretty angry with her attitude and I am really tired of the crap.  I told her I am doing the best that I can and if she wants me to do something she needs to ask. Good news the big UPS envelope was my American Express Card for Costco.  Bad news they are a pain in the ass to get my card activated.  I was going to do it on line but Mom's name and stuff is on the sight and I don't want to change it on her.  I tried to call and at first my phone disconnected.  I tried a second time and had to speak to someone who was condecending to say the least.  I didn't have this problem before!  They wanted to know who the primary card is..ah duh?  I explained my name is on it but it is linked to Mom's card.  I got so frustrated I hung up. I am also aggravated because the pains in the side seem to be acting up big time tonight.  Read it here .  Right now its fine but then in a while if I move or breath deeply it will hurt. Today is my friend Dave’s Birthday. He will be 47. Dave and I have been friends literally since 8th Grade confirmation class. It hasn’t been easy from both of us. We had our fights and disagreements. I don’t like putting up with BS from him and I let him know frequently. He knows how to push buttons and it drives me crazy. There are times when I think about ending the friendship but then something is said to me and I stop thinking about it. Anyway, I called him yesterday on my way to the mall and we talked about his weekend. He asked me if I knew his birthday was going to be today. I called him a moron for even asking. Anyway, since he told me he had things to do today I invited him to dinner later on in the week. So on Friday I am taking him out to dinner. I got my two new pairs of glasses. This week went by fast. I can’t believe it is pay day again and nearly the end of the week. Despite the aggravations earlier in the week that I spoke about I can understand now how my grandmother felt a few years before she died. It was unnerving the days seem to fly by. As I wrote yesterday the floors are going to be finished today including the gaping hole in front of my bedroom door. Mom and I have been careful but this is getting old. Mom has been feeling uneasy with all the clutter and mess around. As she said it’s been going on for a while. She wants to get back to normal. She wants to get started on the projects that come up this time of year. The Meet and Greet is some time in the next two or three months before the election. Well those projects will have to be put on hold for another day. Andy (not Adam as previously written) said it will be done without fail tomorrow.
