No Nor'easter yet

It is Wednesday and nearly 50 degrees. It doesn’t feel warm yet but I hope it will later.  It had been predicted that a Nor’Easter is coming soon.  I hope its rain and rain only.  Granted rain can do a lot of damage itself but let’s hope it doesn’t.  The forecast right now calls for showers during the night.  The Nor’easter is supposed to come the weekend. Went to the insurance agent yesterday.  We finally made changes to the homeowners policy.  I am now considered a tenant but will pay the insurance as it is in the Trustee’s name.  So I have personal property policy too and it is less than I was paying with the other insurance provider.   My nephew Chris and lady Jen were married in NC over the weekend.    My nephew Rich flew down to surprise them and was in attendance as well as Chris’s Children.  Sis made me promise to not say anything at work until KT (coworker/and friend to Jen)was told.  She was told yest...

Glad monday is over

I am so glad Monday is over with.   As I expected we got the mail that was being held up until the PO Box was paid.   As you may recall it was paid last week and we managed to get 1 bin of mail.   There is some debate as to whether or not there was a lot.   I was expecting a lot more but who knows. I am so tired I did the exercise for beginners tonight and it was a bit hard but I managed to stick with it to the end.   The leaders were Alex and Becca.   They are a couple.   They were patient and great.   Before leaving I did the treadmill and then headed to Pop’s restaurant for dinner. I decided to get their Sherry wine Rib Eye Our 16oz prime choice Rib-Eye steak cooked to your liking topped with Portobello mushroom and a sherry wine reduction.  Served with potatoes and vegetables. It was filling and delicious.   It was after 7:30 when I left and I headed home.

I thought

I was surprised to see the sun out yesterday morning.   I thought it was supposed to rain all day.     I am sorry I didn’t take advantage of the sun to clean out the car before going to the gym.   Of course I took a look at the report and found out it was to start later on in the day.   It actually started just as I was leaving the gym I was at the gym for almost 2 hours.   Alex had someone before me and was still working with her until quarter of 1. When it was over we did our session.   I weighed in and got my weekly biometrics.   I lost some weight and some of the body fat increased and others didn’t.   We then talked about dietary needs and he wrote out my Calorie limit (1400) and the percentages for the meals.   Then we went over the schedule and he wants me to take to classes that he and another person are teaching.    He also gave me supplements to take (Vitamin D and multi vitamin and something to help with the j...

Misplacing

I am  constantly misplacing  things.  Receipts, pens, credit cards, books, pocketbooks.  I put them down somewhere or just drop in a pile somewhere and then forget where they went.  Or they fall in to places you can not reach.  Recently I couldn’t find a credit card and a receipt for the Secret santa.  I found them eventually but it was frustrating and anxiety ridden times. Work is fine.  Issues persist with the receiving of mail.  It looks like it will be a  couple more days before we receive the backlog.  Well if I have to I can always continue to work on the readdress backlog.  I was surprised nothing has been said.  There is another collection going around for a coworker who lost her father this past week.  I haven’t been contributing to the collections this month at all.   There is also a few things coming up union related. The DTC meeting was good a rep from Susan Bysiewicz campaign manager. ...

Thankful Thursday

1.             I am thankful for my family warts and all.   I heard from cousins via FB this week and they are doing well.   2.             I am thankful for my kitties-They are have been very cuddly.     3.             I am thankful for my job.   It keeps me busy.   A few of my colleagues returned to work this week.   Very happy to see them.   As the program we had yesterday changes are constant and we have more coming along. 4.             I am thankful for the Medical profession that keeps me on the road to good health.   I had my infusion today. 5.             I am thankful for my neighbors.    6.        ...

Mid Week Reflection

The road to weight loss and good health continues to be a goal of mine.  I finally signed up and attended my first spinning class and managed to stay for the entire time despite the urge to leave more than a few times.  A couple of days later and I am still a little stiff.  I am probably going to do the strength elastic one.   I cancelled my session with Courtney today. The weekend snowstorm was lovely and short.  It came through saturday night and was finished a few hours later.  By Sunday it was beginning to melt and today it is mostly gone.   It was in the 60’s today and beautiful.  However that will change in the next several hours.  It is supposed to be cloudy an over the next few days rain. I went to my friends wake/Celebration of life on Saturday.  I was very glad I went but noticed there weren’t a lot of people there.  No one stayed for long periods of time and I suspect the prayer service was private. ...

So Tired

Today was a long day.   I won’t say I got a lot done because quite frankly and general consensus between Supervisor and myself we didn’t.   Today was the Team building activity at work.   We walked over to the location and had breakfast (I chose fruit decaf coffee and later juice) and we spent the next three hours learning about changes and how we deal with them.   WE had a couple of speakers (ST, JD) and we even had a chance to edit the Mission statement for the Department as a whole.   I did get see some old friends that I hadn’t seen in quite some time.   I walked back with Supervisor Bob.   Actually I had to catch up with him as I kept running into people I knew.   I was pleased I ran quickly and was able to catch up with him. Once we got back I got some lunch, (Pasta salads and tiramisu) and finished on the mail that was on my desk when I left.   I also picked up the mail from downstairs and worked on it until it was finished. ...

Presidents Day 2018

Today is the day we honor all US Presidents.  It first started off as remembering George Washington and then over the years it grew to Abe Lincoln and eventually all Presidents.  The good ones and the not so good ones.  It is a Federal Holiday so banks and the Post office will be closed.  According to Newsweek FEDex and UPS will be running on their Holiday Schedule.  So that means for me that the mail volume was light.  So that meant I can catch up on Scanning, and the readdress mail as well. I did have stuff from the weekend and of course Healthlogic.  THe regular amount for Monday.  Definitely won’t get it tomorrow. There probably will be a lot of sales going on for today actually there have been all week.  Luckily I don’t think I need anything right now.  I was gr As predicted it was very quiet in the office according Admin because many took the opportunity to have a long weekend.  I probably should have done the same thin...

I believe I saw

The snow was lovely this morning.   The streets were already plowed and the sidewalks looked like they were plowed.   The temps got into the mid-40s and snow was melting all morning.   It will continue until the temps drop to thirty overnight.     The snow will be gone by Wednesday according to the weather reports.   The rain tomorrow should help it if it doesn’t get really cold.   It looks like we will have rain for most of the week. It’s funny when I saw the report that we could see snow well into spring.   I figured it was for the entire country.   I should have read further.   I bet it was for the mountains in the Midwest to West coast.   Maybe we won’t get any more snow.   Over the years we have had snow well into April.   I think I saw a Golden Eagle today.   It was spotted in the Marsh over the Oyster River out back by the stores.   It flew over to the beach and back over the house.   I...

I have been thinking

AS the processing of trying to understand the latest school shooting begins or continues.  I have read and heard “More needs to be done”.  They would be right.  I don’t believe AK47’s or military arsenal should be sold to civilians.  I do believe as Brian Van Brunt, the executive director of the National Behavioral Intervention Team Association stated Friday morning that is not just a legal or Mental Health that needs to help but the community . Samantha Haviland confirms the importance of Community help. Now I know that we as a community may not be qualified but we have to help those who are mentally ill or with substance abuse.  There needs to be programs within the town, and groups that can help.  Yes the states may have cut the funding for it but the local citizens need to help out too.  I know I will be Helping out Bridges here in town. The FBI is going to be under scrutiny now with the additional information that is coming out that they wer...

Thankful Thursday

1.             I am thankful for my family warts and all-Liz got some good news recently and will be going to SC in the next ten days.   They did have a water pipe break yesterday but it was fixed last night.   2.             I am thankful for my kitties-They are healthy according to the message from the vet.   Still working on their diet though.   3.             I am thankful for my job.   We had fun at the Valentines/cupcake session yesterday.   Evals are due this week. 4.             I am thankful for the Medical profession that keeps me on the road to good health.   Saw Courtney yesterday and I also lost weight.   My session with Debra this week had to cancel because of scheduling conflicts (for her).   I have...

Crazy Week

First of I would like to wish all of my readers and followers a big Happy Valentines Day!  I hope all of you are sharing with the ones you love and remembering those we have lost. This week as i mentioned in my last entry has been crazy.  Work has been busy, my after work schedule opened more than once to allow me to do other things and to probably catch up on Sleep. I did get an invite to dinner and a movie last night and had to decline because I thought there was a Ladies Guild meeting.  I was wrong. DO Promised another time.   Once I discovered there was no meeting I headed to the gym and spent about half hour on the treadmill.  I didn’t get out until after 8.  I was chatting with some other ladies who were teachers at SHU.   I got home by 8:30 and was still hungry from dinner so i had oatmeal.  Tiger was very interested in trying it but I wouldn’t let her.  She eventually laid down on the bed.  Sky eventually followed. ...

I have been noticing

Image
I have been noticing the days are getting longer lately the first time was last week after a rainy day.   The sun was still in the sky and it was five o’clock.   I noticed it again this afternoon.   Of course that means the mornings start in darkness and the sun is blindingly bright in the east.   I like that because the lights don’t have to always be on when I get home.   I was so tired yesterday when I got home from the day that I really didn’t do any journaling.   That doesn’t mean I wasn’t on the computer.   I did crossword puzzles and surfing the net but that’s it. Work was fine.   Busy but fine.   Did some scanning and the mail.   A couple fo people came back from med leave and personal leave.   We have another collection for anther co-worker who had surgery. Supervisor B sent out an email with the performance review that we have to fill out by next Monday.   I can’t believe it is time to do that again. ...

Had a hard time falling asleep

I don’t understand it.   I kept dozing while I was doing the crossword puzzles, and surfing the net last night but when I was ready to actually sleep I couldn’t.   I couldn’t for a while.   So when I did it was great.   I woke up this morning at the normal time and fed the cats and decided to lay on the couch.   I actually fell asleep for half an hour.   Now all I want to do is nothing.   The weather isn’t helping it either. According to the weather reports it was in the low to mid 40’s with rain for the morning.   I didn’t think it was raining hard.   Usually you can hear it on the rooftops and windows.   It doesn’t make me want to get to the gym (I am not being very good about it I know).   I will later. Sky was making it known he wanted to get into the spare room this morning.   I was not letting him until I get some letters written and printed out.   Tiger spent the time on the bed grooming herself and sleepi...

#365 Day Question Prompt: What did I buy today?

It has been a while since I did one of the questions so I thought I would do this.   The only thing I bought today was a small Broccoli and garlic white pizza from the pizza shop down the street that has become my new go to place.   This was after I had the incredible afternoon today.   Oh I don’t know if approving the latest Dia.com Delivery is considered buy or not but that’s what I just did.   As you may recall I took Tiger to the vet for a follow up.   Well before we left I had put her in the soft foldable crate.   It went fairly well.   She balk a few times but I think we both did much better.   Once I had put her in (she relented) and put her in the living room.   I got showered and dressed and then went upstairs for a half hour.   When it was time to leave I decided to go check in on sky who was in my old bedroom.   I was surprised to find Tiger sitting on the pillow by the window!   For a brief moment I though...

Going to get busy

First off I would like to wish my Nephew James a wonderful Happy Birthday.   I won’t get to see him this week or anytime soon because he currently goes to school in DC (I hope).   I am embarrassed to say that I am not sure how old he is.   He is in his first year of college so I would say 17 or 18.    I remember when his parents brought him home from Russia.   He was just about 3 and really super shy until he started clasping to my leg.   He grew up in a typical fashion for boys.   His mother thinks he is too smart for his own good.   You might say opinionated too but like I said I don’t get to see him much. This morning is Tiger’s follow up visit to the Vet.   I have been keeping an eye on her to see where she is so I can be delicate as possible in getting her in the crate (which is currently in the downstairs bathroom).    I would prefer if she was still lying on the dining room table so I could just pick her up and br...

Man it was cold

Happy and Cold friday !  IT was 19 degrees out when I got into the car this morning.  There was frost on the windows and it looks like I need to get more window defroster.  When I left the office it was 30 degrees but snow flurries.  THey didn’t last long.   Yesterday afternoon was busy with the mail.  I got it done and did some of the readdress mail.  I hope to get back to the scanning as I have a large batch to do.   This morning I did scanning and the we had a staff meeting, and then I did the mail and finished it between 2 and three. Among the agenda items was the new procedure for FMLA.  It still sounds confusing to me but I hope it will resolve itself. We another new staff member coming next week.  She is taking TMJ’s position.  Tania who was originally supposed to take that job is enjoying the work she is doing so she will stay under Lauren.     Last night I went home and made some stew and fed ...
