Dear Mom     It is a beautiful morning.  The sun is shining but I am not sure for how long.  I have heard conflicting weather reports at least half dozen times.     I emailed Liz this morning to let her know the cards had come and we agreed (at least I think) to have me sign all of our names to the cards for Greg and his brothers.  She is going to pay half but I wasn’t sure how much.  So I will get those out sometime today.     She tells me Jason told her that Audrey got a card for her birthday and he thought it was for both of them.  That is until Grandma told him it wasn’t his birthday yet.  It was too funny.  I was wondering if she got the card.  Now I am trying to remember when Jason’s birthday is before I forget.   I just realized it is Adam’s Birthday as well.  I can’t find his email anywhere but I do know of his google profile but no email.  The same for Olga.  We...

March 28, 2014 Dear Friends: Happy Friday to you...I hope all is well with you.  Last night was not quite what I had planned but it worked out.     I got home around 5 and as I got ready for the meet and greet I decided that I didn’t want to go and Mom encouraged that.  So I relaxed as much as I could.  Mom had a prescription at Costco so I went and picked that up and then came home and had cereal then went to the DTC.  I really should have stayed home! I was still having problems getting in and out of the car.  From the neck down  (even though I had taken Tylenol later on during the night/morning).  Getting on and off chairs was delightful and I also had a brain fart.  Tonight was the officers Elections and every year I nominate the current Chairman.  What I fail to remember is that usually he has someone (read: The Mayor) already doing it.   While I was trying to nominate the Chairman I couldn’t re...

July 13, 2013 Dear Friends!           I hope your afternoon has been well.   As I had expected it’s been rather quiet.   We did have some more showers and that’s making it a little humid.   If it gets any warmer the fans will be going on quickly.   I ran some errands for Mom to our friends’ house to drop off a gift to them.   They were those mesh tents for food outdoors.   They were needed when we had dinner with them last week.   I did some web browsing and took a nap.              My hands and my right arm are starting to get achy again.   I haven’t had anything with salt yet that I know off but I think I am going to have to take some more aspirin soon.   I know that I have to reorder the plaquenil like tomorrow.   I seem to recall Dr. Becker telling me that the plaquenil not only helps the aches and the swelling but i...

Dear Debra: Friday was just not the best day for me. I over slept that morning; left my ID holder with my license, and work ID and a CC at home. I spilled not only my breakfast but my lunch on my shirt. I was a walking mess. I was exhausted by the time I left the office. I was spoiling for a fight with a driver in front of me. He just cut me off at the Union Avenue and Church Street South intersection. When I caught up with him at the bottom of Church Street South and Sargent Drive I took more pictures and he came to my car demanding to know what I was doing. I didn’t open the window I just looked at him and said having you arrested. What he did was reckless especially in the rain. I had no idea he was going to do that. He didn’t pursue it but I wasn’t going to back down. Despite my late start of the day (I did manage to get to work on time. It is happening. The days are getting shorter. I have noticed for the past several nights that it has gotten dark before 8:30 when just weeks ago it was still light out. It means that the fall season will be here in no time. I actually don’t mind it. I really do like all the seasons for all the reasons. They would be the different activities, the weather changes, and of course the time change. I think the time change is in October this year but I will have to check again. Today went pretty well. I was late to work again (just about the same time as in the last few days). This time I was trying to get the CD adapter/.player that Liz gave me to work. It doesn’t. I probably could have done it when I got home but I was hoping to be playing the music on the way in. I got most of the daily mail done by the time I left. Man today was a long day. I started the day with a small headache from the back of my head and then it progressed to the front. I mentioned this in my Kate's Journey with Lupus: Headaches entry. The mail volume was heavy but I will finish it in the morning. I was also distracted by a birthday party for A Lopez. There is some back story to that as well. I walked in with her this morning and she seemed as though she was slightly put out that no one remembered her birthday yesterday. Well I had known (and possibly gave it away) that Niamba was going to do something for her. Later when I told Evette about it she was upset and explained that Arcenia asked that nothing be done for her. Now I know Arcenia has been like this for years. There was an argument between the ladies and as a result Arcenia moved her seat. When I left for the day it was a little after 4. The aches and pains subsided for a bit but they would come back later after I had taken down the curtains and washed the window...

I am glad it’s Friday. It is the end of the longest and most historical week of 2008. I am glad it is Friday because I get to pay some bills that needed paying. Despite the fact it leaves me with very little money this time. It is the beginning of the weekend and I can keep up on my room being cleaned and start working on Christmas and pen pal stuff. As it is I am trying to move around emails to various folders. Work went well. I had everything done by 2:30 and helped Liz empty out files and get ready to put more in. Mom and I had to deal with a minor irritation today We got word yesterday we needed to turn off our water for the day because of work being done else where in the city (probably around the corner from us. We got notification yesterday. So we had to conserve water or save some for use for the day. Heard from Janie today wanted to get some information on section eight housing. I had a hard time going to sleep last night. I tried several times to go to sleep but things kept me awake. Things about work mainly were keeping me awake. Will Susan and Gayle have to speak to me again? I thought I was doing pretty well but I knew I still had stuff to do. I will just have to keep at it. I will pick up the mail from the lobby tomorrow when I get there. My hand and arm still ached through out the night and I took another dose of ibuprofen. I was beginning to think that my body was rejecting the ibuprofen because I had the runs earlier in the evening. My hand still hurt and I could lift my arm only so high. That was the way it went all day. I was also beginning to think that the computer was going to die or something because it was so slow. I really hope nothing happened to this computer. There were a number of times I would click on the close button for some of these and the window to report a problem would pop up. I got a...

I fell today in front of the parking garage in the city. I was walking from the elevator to the corner talking to a woman who is on another floor here in the building. Anyway, I got to the corner and slid and fell to the ground then got onto my knees and swore. The woman helped me up. Now my entire left side is all dirty and the new stockings are messed up. It is now 20 of 12. I am working on the lockbox. Everything seems to be feeling better but the lower part of my back. Shirley suggested I go get it checked out and said nah it would be okay when I get home. It is almost 3:30 and in 30 minutes I will be leaving for the day. The afternoon went well. I was able to get the rejections sorted and delivered, and I was able to get some of the individual mail done. I didn’t get to the lobby box but I can do that Monday.
