Today is my last full day of my adventures in Las Vegas.  I wasn't expecting much except to prepare for the flight home tomorrow. That changed after last night's meet up. We were invited to another game Mexican train at Einstein bagels at 1.  It will be in likelihood our dinner as well. We will be leaving here around 10 and have to get a check up for one of the cars first.   Then tonight last minute laundry. I will also print out the boarding pass and then bed for me.  I haven't been sleeping all that well lately. As a matter of fact I wrote this at 4 in the morning.  I had an alarm set for seven so I could get my walk in before the day started. I woke up late. I received my schedule for Bingo this month.  I am doing Bingo at 10:30 in the morning on the 7th and my regular time on Easter Sunday.  Which means whatever plans I did have got boggled. Sunday was beautiful and chilly.  It's sunny and watching the planes making their final approach while on my morning walk was very cool.  The walk was about a mile and half and met some other residents that were on their walk. This walk helped me get to 3K steps already. Today we are headed up to the Hoover Dam and explore it.  I was looking forward to seeing this awesome piece of history.  That is until we couldn't take the tour until I got rid of the trail mix I just bought in their gift shop.  When they say no food they mean no food! Even if its in prepackaged and unopened you can not take it in the tour with you.  They said we could take it back to our car but we parked on the Arizona side of the dam. It was a little far and time consuming so we ended up just walking back to the car and heading out to lunch. It was a beautiful morning.  I decided to turn the heat down to 60 and open a few windows today as it got to be 60 degrees today.  Now its a little more cooler. This morning I had  more banking in my goal for the budget revision.  It didn't take long.  I spent several hours with Liz last night setting up the accounts in my bank for direct pay.  We discovered that we can’t transfer balances from one chase account to another so we had to find another card to transfer balance and we found one (AMEX).  Chase should have indicated that bit of info as we were setting up the transfer last week.  I only found out yesterday when they sent a letter of confirmation of the one transfer they were able to do.  Liz and I will probably get together again and add the additional direct pays sometime next week. I decided to sleep on the couch last night and it wasn't too bad.  The cats didn't know what to make of it at first but eventually fell asleep at my feet,  I did it to help with my neck.  It does feel better at this moment  who knows how it will be later.  I was surprised I was in bed until 6:30! I only had to get up a few times during the night There wasn't much on TV last night.  I watched My PBS shows and then I watched Inspector Linley.  It is a show that doesn't have new episodes since 2008 but are rebroadcast on the stations.  It was a good show and I wish there were more.  I also did some channel surfing.  When that clearly didn't work I did some laundry and then went to bed. It is cloudy right now did see a lovely sunrise.  It is supposed to be a cloudy day (not necessarily grey skies) it is supposed to be in the 30's and 40's today.  No rain or snow in sight until maybe Monday.  Some rain mid week.  The same ...

I am still working earlier entries but I wanted to get this one done.   That being said this holiday has once again came too quickly.   I have not done a lot with the Christmas cards except send out three and started the labels.   I have so much to do and a lot of things going on all at once.   I was able to get the gift for the club party tomorrow and was able to get the contribution to the food.   It was wings and T approved of it.   I am never sure how much to get.      The only thing is they nearly fell all over T.   The party went well and there was a lot of food.   The meeting went well too.    We have three Christmas activities this coming weekend.   Two sing-a-longs and one gift delivery all at the nursing homes.   Two are at the same nursing home we have been associated with and one with the newest nursing home we did the Veteran’s day Service for.   The office Christmas Party that Nicole ...

Another Monday has come and gone and I wasn’t sure it would be starting off that great.   I got sick during the night so I was a little slow at getting ready for work this morning.   I managed to pull it together and get out at a fairly decent time.   I spent the better part of the morning working on readdress and then the daily mail that came in and of course sorting the EOB’s.   I continued with the readdress mail when I saw some new stuff come in.   My guardian angel let me know she had to work on some of it and it was old.   I kept my supervisor apprised of the situation when I left for the day. I did manage to have a hearty lunch from a local Mexican Food truck and it was delicious.    It is right across the street from the office and I have been wanting to go there for a while now.   The sun was shining it was lovely out.   I didn’t go back out until I left for home. I had a lot of fun Saturday.  WE laughed and joked and talked about our summers and we had our dinner from Costa Azzurra. I was in the mood for Baked ziti but was unable to finish it because of all the snacking I did prior to ordering dinner. Roberta tells me she put in her notice and is retiring on JUne 30.  It wasn’t how she planned it but she needed to do it.  She and her husband are looking for a place down south as their retirement home.  He doesn’t retire for another couple of years. It was great to see C and her husband G.  The last time I saw them was back in the fall and I wasn’t well then.  I had left the games that night before they started.  Last night we got caught up on our lives.  She still works at a preschool in New Haven. G has had knee problems and is working. I had a hard time falling asleep Saturday night.  I am not sure what it was.  I think I was focusing on these damn FMLA papers that I need to fill out.  Will I get paid will I not?  Does Roberta have a point or does FMLA have guidelines individualized for each company.   It turned out okay.  I spent some time vacuuming and resting before going out to mexican train game. The kitties ended up sleeping in their new spot.   The mexican train game was fun.  I was the first and then Charlie and his wife Helen were next and then STan and Debbie arrived.  We had a great time.  We started with the snacks and then ordered our food from Acosta Azzurra ..  WE did play a couple of rounds before the food arrived. It was a lot of fun.  We talked about Movies ( The Cobbler starring Adam Sandler and Dustin Hoffman)  and we talked about our collective Health statuses.  Debbie is currently not feeling well with not one but two ...

Saturday morning I ran some errands including getting my hair cut.  I had some time to relax before the Mexican Train game.    We had ordered from Silver Spoons (something like Grubhub) and we ordered from Wood & Tap.  I had a bison burger with fries. We started playing around 4:30 and we played until 8.  By then I was exhausted.  I left a short time after we finished with the promise to call Roberta to let them know I got home okay. When I got home the kittens were waiting for me at the door.  THey have been really funny these last couple of days.  THey have been playful and loveable.  The playful part is at 1 in the morning for about 2 hours or so.  For the first time in days Tiger has been very loveable and she slept on my bed twice at my feet.  She even walked up to my face.  She still doesn’t late me pick her up.  They have been finding new places to see the sun.  Mom’s old office chair is one place....

Dear Mom,     I can’t believe how quickly this weekend went by but unfortunately I spent most of Saturday in bed.  Friday night I didn’t do much I had dinner (a hamburger) and of course the rest of the night is now turning into a blur until about Saturday morning early morning.  I had gotten what I call kidney shots (or muscle spasms) and they hurt like hell.  I took some muscle spasm but I ended up tossing it up.  I ended up falling back to sleep until about 9.  I stayed in bed until 10 and then I got up for a little while and got some errands done and then came home and went back to bed for the rest of the day.     Sunday I felt a lot better but I noticed my stomach not fully better so I treaded light for most of the day.  I did have a bowl of cereal before the Mexican train game but it felt heavy.   I did go to bingo and then stopped by Liz and Nelson’s to drop stuff off.  That afternoon I went to the ...

Dear Mom, I tried to sleep early last night but I had  a few things on my mind.  I was trying to access  one of your accounts and messed up on the login so I had to  get a new password for that one.  I was trying to organize that particular bill  in my own files but  I kept  hitting road blocks.   Now I have to think about the things that need to be updated and for some reason it is making me addle brained.  I eventually got what I wanted done but it frustrated me to no end. I talked with Nel yesterday.  He said  Liz was  shopping and then going to  church and that she wasn’t feeling well  despite having a great time they were exhausted not just from this trip but the  impromptu trip to NC.  I will call her after my PT session on Monday. It is not even 1:30 in the afternoon and I am already tired.  I got up early this morning to do stuff.  I had online banking and then went for my early morning haircut.  I was back here by 9:30 and a short time later out the door grocery shopping. I actually went to three different places for stuff.  They were Costco, Stop and shop, and finally Shop_Rite.  It seemed like it took for ever.  I happily got everything and so hopefully we won’t have to go shopping for at least a few more days. Anyway I will be leaving here in a little while to go to M&R for Mexican Train game.  It should be a lot of fun.  There should be 9 of us I think and we are going to order Chinese from the restaurant down the street. October  19, 2013 Dear Friends; Well here it is  Saturday Morning and I here I sit trying to empty out my email boxes.  Mom is downstairs reading the paper that apparently came later then usual.  I actually got up after her.  My letter to James has not gone yet and I am a bit peeved.  I have sent it three times but it just isn’t leaving the outbox.  He is going to have it three times.  I guess I tried the “don’t send it before “ option and it didn’t work for some reason.  It worked last week! It is amazing I have had computers for years and should understand them but I don’t.  I always panic when things go wrong or it dies.  That’s when I call up my Guru next door.  One day he won’t be there anymore.   Maybe its time I go to computer classes or something.  It s also the reason I try and have a computer blog because then I can see what is going on and if something does go wrong I can have access it to it. July 27, 2013 Dear Friends  it’s a few minutes before midnight and it is quiet here.  Mom has been in bed for nearly 2 hours.  I Have been home from the games since maybe around 8.  I have been multitasking heavily between the TV (watching things like the Dr. Who programs on BBC America) and the computer (visiting the forums and blogs). M&R picked me up a little after 2 and a very short time later we were at Gary and Carol’s house we were the last of the group to arrive.  Once we were all in side we emptied our bags with our contributions and then we sat down and began to eat.  We ate about an hour and half and then started the thirteen rounds of the game.  We had the pleasure of Stan’s Daughter Michelle (?) with us and she was lovely.  She caught on quickly on how to play the game.
