Today ws my day to be stressed

The mail for the other floors is starting to pile up even more (this includes interoffice mail and regular post office mail). It doesn’t help when people walk in and comment on it. I nearly bit off JackieM’s head when she walked in and made a comment. By then she had been the sixth person in two days. I happen to have been working on the daily mail which to me is freaking priority. I also had the opportunity to get the lobby mail that was there all week. The last two days were exhausting to the point where I didn’t go to the DTC meeting and went to bed early last night. I got news about the car as well. I wasn’t feeling well either. The news about the car isn’t good. The pin that holds the timing belt broke and caused serious damage to valves in the engine and TC needs to pull the engine out and fix it. It will take some time and could be expensive ($2200-$2500). Good news is Sis offered the use of her car while she is away next week. She will pick me up on Sunday and I will d...

Ground Hog Day and snow delays

Well Phil the Ground Hog in Punxsutawney PA saw his shadow yesterday morning and the audience heckled it. Do they realize no matter if he saw it or not that it would still be six weeks of winter? Apparently the Connecticut version of Phil also saw his shadow and there is some prairie dog that also can predict the winter and has done it better then these two clowns. You can find out more at the link above. Yesterday went pretty well. I garnered an invitation to a breakfast meeting with our Executive Director Marianne D-S for this Thursday. It is basically an employee participation meeting with out the big crowds. I don’t have much to tell her but it is rather awkward (and I get the feeling I will be the only one there besides the administration staff.) considering how closed to being in trouble with the mail I was last week (see my entry from last Wednesday). Mom says that Jim did pretty well with the colonoscopy yesterday. Despite the fact they will have to perform some biopsie...

Pies and Work

Well hello everyone. It is just about 8 Saturday nigh and I am so tired. I got up early and got ready for the day. As the title of the entry says today was the MYWC Pie in the Sky project with Hopkins School. I left a little after 8 and drove to the school with no problem. The school is on hills on Forest Road. The campus is beautiful the buildings were massive. They have a beautiful view of New Haven from where they are. I couldn’t help but feel they are so close to town but have a world of their own. The surrounding homes were beautiful and I would have loved to see how far forest road would go. I probably still could. I met the other students from all over the new haven area (and some from Fairfield county as well) some of the students (there were boys there too) were sophomores and juniors. Their teacher was Mrs. Lane. She was a former Research tech at Yale and now a science teacher at Hopkins. Roberta was there and her leg bothering her. She says she is going to have...

I am never using the elevators in the parking garage again

Why you ask? Well this morning about 20 of 8 there were 8 of us in the elevator and it stopped--in between 2nd Floor and the street. The other seven were from KOF (Knights of Columbus) and that was the cosmic joke. If any of you have read my blogs you know I kvetch about how the employees from that organization wlaks down the ramps to get to their building. One of them used the call button and got the company operator (or who ever) and they said they would send someone. We had to call them back and then it was decided to call 911. They got us out after 8. Luckily I was able to call Susan R and leave message. I couldn't get Patti. That's why I am not using their elevators. They really need to do something about it. Later on I called Mom. First to let her know what happened (not that she could do anything about it) and then again to let her know that I would like her to invite Bob and Ethel. She was telling me yesterday that she felt bad she couldn't invite them because Liz r...
