Dear Friends

November 27, 2013

Dear Friends:

It is after midnight and I have been up for a short time.  I actually got some sleep  but I will be getting more shortly.  I have been reading some of my F-list Blogs such  as Mictoria’s.  I hadn’t had any updates for some reason but come to find out she has been a busy bee lately.

With all the excitement of the gunman at the University this week I totally missed the sewer project activity going on here.  I am afraid I don’t have pictures to post but here goes.  Everything around the Pump station is cleared out.  The  pump station as I mentioned is all been updated to look like a house but the fence and equipment around has been taken away.

The Trailer that has been at the end of the street since March has been taken away and the ground around it has been smoothed over.  The street as I mentioned earlier that had been dug up recently is almost back to normal.

The asphalt paving should be done within the next two weeks so our street will be normal again until the houses get hooked up to the sewer lines.  I have no idea when that will be done and I didn’t ask Mom because she has been busy with  the  Thanksgiving preparations.

We still have rain.  According to the weather page we should be getting some thunder storms.  I haven’t heard anything except maybe the wind and the heavy rain.

Well I have a cup of tea cooling on my dresser so I better go drink it and get back into bed.  I am going to be getting up  in about four  and getting out before 7 I hope.  I seriously entertained the thought of using the train yesterday but I cut it too close.  Maybe next week.

The work has begun

As promised the work on the phase 2 of the sewer project has begun.  Several trucks and men were outside at 7:30 this morning preparing to start working.  I saw huge pipes being offloaded from a dump truck where the pump station is being built.  I am not sure what else happened.  When I came home it was all cleaned up for the day.  I noticed a portable toilet outside (the spell check and grammar check isn’t cooperating) when I got home.

I had a great day at work.  I was busy from the time I got there until I left after 6 tonight.  I expect the same all week.  Actually I am expecting the volume to be a little heavier tomorrow than normal.   I hope to do OT for most of the week.  I won’t be able to Thursday or Friday.  I am hoping for the weekend though.  I have to check my weekend plans before I commit.

I called the Dermatologist today and asked them to renew my metro gel prescription.  They took the information and said they would order it.  I was rather surprised that they didn’t ask me to come in for a visit but it wasn’t necessary.  I did get an email alert informing me that it wasn’t in stock but would be by tomorrow.

I called Beth El shelter today to arrange the “after dinner activities”.  The woman I spoke to had to call me back later to get more info.  She did say that story time would be fine but not the Egg hunt and they recommended that we do it in the soup kitchen and announce it while they were eating.  I sent an email to the officers of the woman’s club to update them.  I just got off the phone w/Telka she is questioning why after all this time we can’t go in the back where the residents are and do the activities (such as story reading).  We have been doing it all the time before and had no problems.

Another issue we seem to be having is the girls in the club are not responding to requests to volunteer or sign up for activities.  Some say they are going to do something and either don’t show up or back out at the last minute.  I talked with Roberta about both situations and we seem to agree that this is the new procedure for the shelter and we have to honor it.  As for the girls signing up and not fulfilling their responsibilities they need to be spoken to about it.

I picked up the Xarelto this evening after work.  The pharmacy is still waiting to hear from Dr. Becker about the plaquenil and of course the metro gel will be ready tomorrow.

Dinner was delicious leftovers from last night.  The roast beast was delicious. I had the creamed onions, peas (not part of last yesterday’s meal), mashed potatoes, the artichoke and spinach dish that mom had.  It was super.  No dessert for me tonight.

The weather today got really cold and windy.  It apparently rained for awhile in New Haven and a little here in Milford.  It was in the high 50’s in both places.  It was a little too cold for me and it still is now.  It is supposed to get warmer by the end of the week.  Yay.

It is getting late and I want to get to work early tomorrow if I can.  Have a great night everyone…..

Last Day of Vacation

Considering that today is my last day of vacation.   I am going to make sure things that were not done (housework mostly) are done...
