  Good morning, all!   It’s Saturday and I have been up for a few hours now.   I have done a couple of errands already.   I finally got to the can recycling place and man It was busy, but I managed to get through it.   Someone was kind enough to let me ahead of her (she had so many).   It didn’t take long after that. I went to the credit union to check to see if I could remember my pin number.   For several weeks now I have been having a hard time remembering.   It worked today.   I made a note on my phone to remember the next time I needed it. So, I had a great time at the rally on Thursday.   I was waiting for my ride to come and while I was waiting a security guard came to talk to me.   He had been there always, and I have a feeling he wanted to ask me out.   I was relieved when EV arrived.   We picked up our friends/colleagues down the street and then headed to downtown New Haven.   We parked by the Union Ha...

  Right about this time (4:45 Eastern) I would be either on my way or waiting for the others to arrive at our weekly Meetup at the diner in Guilford.   Unfortunately, everyone had other things they needed to do.   So, they will have it next week.   I hope.   I won’t be there though.   The next time I will see them is Mother’s Day weekend for the two Brunches each day.   One is at Gouviea Vineyards and the other will be at Faith’s home. Right now, it seems that Gil and Faith are working on the Book Club event.   It looks like Gil worked on it for most of the night last night and now faith is having a little bit of a probable adding a person. Today was pretty good.    I got all my work done before noon.   I had lunch from the Orchids café   Down the Street.   Then for the rest of the day I did some clearing out of emails, updating calendars. I got up shortly after 6 today and it was weird to not have Sky or Tiger waking me up!  What am I saying it was great. It was very cool to hear the planes flying over head. Roberta and I did take our walk last night and it is on FB.  It helped with my steps but I didn’t quite make it to the 12000 steps I promised A.  I Did take the same routes today (it's a development) this morning and it is 1.09 miles.  My steps already were well into 3k by 8 in the morning. The day started out in the 60’s overcast and would stay that way I got news from back home.  The kitties are fine. Unfortunately there was a very big Fire at Silver Sands state park.   There is an investigation going on now.  Thankfully no one got hurt. I don’t know if these were recently added as the park was going through major renovations.  I had seen an alert on FB about it but didn’t think about it. I just wanted to check in before heading to bed.   I am really tired but good.   I got up fairly early and got online before some of the work started down the street.   Here are some pictures my neighbor Don took over the weekend There are others but you’re getting the idea.   At one point all of those metal pilings were very high up and were being pound into the ground 37 feet down.   I am not sure if they are there for walls or what.    Let’s just say we are really looking forward to this being completed by December. Work went well very busy and still more to finish.   I stayed until six to help with scanning.   I had to get a new printer for my office.   The other one died last night.   They were planning on replacing it some time in the future but not this soon. Morning everyone! I ended up staying the night over at SIL’s. It was her first full night alone in the house. The student/boarder who had been troublesome left and my niece went back to the city. We were clearing out stuff (she was looking for forms for potential places to live). She tells me there are a few places she is looking at to rent. Most of them were in New Haven. We ate a late night supper and then went to bed. This morning we had breakfast and I have been home an hour. Mom was up and doing her morning ritual. I got cleaned up and have been doing laundry. My plans for the day are not really firmed up maybe get things straightened up and vacuum the room. Do some errands. I will probably go to church this afternoon. Tomorrow is a full day. I called the Nursing home again this morning to see what the status of the “quarantine” was and again Natalie has not returned my call. I probably could call the main number but I left a message on the answering machine so there ...

Good news the big UPS envelope was my American Express Card for Costco.  Bad news they are a pain in the ass to get my card activated.  I was going to do it on line but Mom's name and stuff is on the sight and I don't want to change it on her.  I tried to call and at first my phone disconnected.  I tried a second time and had to speak to someone who was condecending to say the least.  I didn't have this problem before!  They wanted to know who the primary card is..ah duh?  I explained my name is on it but it is linked to Mom's card.  I got so frustrated I hung up. I am also aggravated because the pains in the side seem to be acting up big time tonight.  Read it here .  Right now its fine but then in a while if I move or breath deeply it will hurt. As another Sunday draws to a close I am sitting here feeling pretty good about things. Bingo went well as I made a concerted effort to not get into any arguments with the residents. I made sure coffee was made and ready for those who wanted. I remembered what Mom had told me last week (isn’t always the way?) about bending over backwards. It went really well. The only down part was that by the time I left my ankle all the way up to my calf was hurting and by then I was limping. When I came home from church I hopped right into getting the room cleaned. I actually started after lunch. I had updated some of my files first. I vacuumed every thing that I could. The ceiling fan and the dust bunnies on the ceiling were interesting to work with. At one point I found myself bending backwards you should see the room its great. It took me about 4 hours. My desk looks great too. Well the top of it does. I was coming off the highway today and noticed there were big rigs on the site where the future home of United Illuminating Power company will be. A couple of years ago the company currently headquartered in New Haven (literally down the street from my office) bought the property after The National Amusement movie complex was sold and torn down. In that time it was cleared out and then all of a sudden everything was on hold until the last few months when gates were put up so cars would not be using it as a turn around. Today there was an Orange Police squad car at the entrance. This all comes after or during (depending on how you look at it) the Stew Leonard fight with some of the Orange Residents in building their stores right there on Marsh Hill Road. That story is another long one too. Today went pretty well despite receiving sad news that Claudia M lost her Mom this past weekend. There is a collection going on until the 6th. After a short sleep (I went to sleep sometime after 2) I got up around 7:30 and started on some chores. I got some ironing done did some laundry and vacuumed the blue room in preparation for the visit from Jim and Joe Easter Morning. I did manage to watch some of charmed and Angel. Well we all know I watch Angel while I get dressed for work most mornings but I don’t always have an opportunity to see Charmed unless I am on vacation or sick. Mid morning I ran to the bank and did some errands for Mom. They didn’t take long as I had to be at the hair dressers by 1. Mom spent some time baking and I hung out waiting for the bed sheets from the blue room to dry. Around 12:30 I left for the appointment forgetting to tell Mom that afterwards I would be going to the store and then going to see Liz. I got to my appointment and it too about 45 minutes. Today was totally tubular. I got up early and got my day started. I ironed my clothes made my bed and folded the clothes I left in the dryer downstairs. I even managed to catch some of Angel on TNT. It was the one where Holt takes baby Connor to the other dimension. I got to Roberta’s house to find the pups waiting for me and so gave them some attention and then went inside to get the cat fed (and get some treats for the pups). It didn’t take long and I was on the road again a short time later. The drive was okay even though I thought the highway seemed busy. Maybe it was where I got on. Once I got to New Haven it seemed better. I was glad because I didn’t want to be late. It was before 8 when I got to the building so I got some coffee and then went upstairs and got settled in. It was a pretty good day. We celebrated Toni’s birthday with cake and we said goodbye to Nora C from Reimbursement as she has taken a position in the OB/GYN department within the Medical Group. I was able to finish all of my work by 2:15 and spent the rest of the day pulling EOB’s and picking up the NOPPs from Registration. They are really privacy papers the patients sign to allow us to deal with the insurance companies and healthcare facilities. Terry and I were laughing that I could be talking to people on the way to my car and she wondered what time I get home with all the chatting. I told her about the time I hugged a complete stranger thinking I knew them. Earlier this week I wrote about how I was aggravated by several occurrences well I didn’t mention one. It was over a bill I had paid (at least I thought I did) for Union Plus back on November 1. That was thirteen days ago and they still haven’t received it! Did you Change your clocks yet? I had to do change the VCR in the living room (again) and the microwave and the oven. I had to change my alarm clock and my watch. Everything else did it on its own. Well not everything. The two kitchen clocks will have to be done later. In the past I would sometimes get up at the 2 am time and change it then go back to sleep. I don’t know why but I did. I don’t even know why 2 am was the appointed time but I guess there is a reason. Yahoo had an article on the time change I probably should have read it. Today will be the last Sunday that Mom goes to the Mercy Center for a while. Starting next week the Center will be starting renovations for an indefinite period of time. Mom is so not looking forward to that. She loves going there and listening to Father Whitson. She will most likely go to St. Agnes. She really doesn’t like that church but it is our parish. The morning was rather slow. I finish up the laundry and changed the sheets on my bed and vacuumed my room while taking little breaks and watching Charmed. I also went to the post office to get stamps and then to the library to drop off the videos so they can be donated. The sun was out for most of the morning then it got cloudy just before 10:30. Actually the weather forecast for today did call for partly cloudy and into the night. I guess they were true to their word. The rest of the day I just hung out and either watched TV or took a nap. I got tired near the end of the day. I really didn’t do much as I said. Well I had a lovely chat with Emily about her Halloween. She and Kristina went in their pajamas and Jamie went as the Scream demon in the movies Scream. You will not believe how warm it was around here. It is after 9:30 and I am just about to hit the sack again. Despite the fact I was chilled for most of today it was a good day. I got almost everything done again. I am still doing the readdress mail. I managed to get through the Diagnostic mail that was there and found mail that should have been opened and I did. I had to separate the Diagnostic return mail into a couple of piles ones with addresses and ones with no addresses. Patti will check them on the system (the ones with updated addresses) and I probably will readdress them and send them back out. I left a little before 4 and brought the mail for the 4th Floor downstairs then I left. I walked with Mary C to her parking garage and then went on to mine. The traffic was a bit slow and heavy. However I still managed to get home before 4:30. Mom was home when I got there. She was starting dinner and we had decided earlier in the day I would get into my pajamas and stay home from all the evening activities. While Mom was grill...

Yesterday was a pretty good day. I worked and then went to the pharmacy to pick up some “stuff” that I needed. It was well after 4:30 when I got home. Mom was cooking dinner. Joe and Ria were over Bob’s house. Now this is what pissed me off a little. He asked if we all could eat around 7. Not a problem considering I had a huge lunch. He called back three more times and said that Bob wanted them to stay longer. So they did and we went ahead and ate. They didn’t get back to the house until maybe 9. Mom had the leftovers from dinner still cooling on the counter. My whole problem with this is that we had two things we could have done if we had known earlier that they were going to stay for dinner at Bob’s. We could have gone to the wake for a third district member. We could have gone to the reception for Gayle Slosberg. Hey all it is just before midnight and I was heading to bed. Today was a very long day. I got to work at a good time but jumped right into work. I did make a few stops on the internet highway but managed to get stuff going. I finished Friday’s mail and sorted it and delivered it as well as Thursday. I wasn’t able to open today’s lockbox but I did get the post office started. One of the reasons for that was because I had so much individual readdress mail to get delivered that I spent a good part of the day doing it. I was having a hard time concentrating on the bad addresses too. I did manage to make calls for the club. I got a hold of the Beth El shelter and scheduled a dinner for February 7th but as I thought about it and when I got an email from Telka realized it wasn’t a good date. She suggested that I make it for March between the 13th and 20th. I will have to call him back tomorrow. I am still waiting on the ARC person to call me back and set up the club to sponsor a blood drive. ...

It is after 11:30 on this cold January Saturday. Mom is in bed reading the newspaper from today. I have been watching TV. I have to say I just can’t get into this season’s L&O. It just doesn’t feel right. I am getting tired again and I should go to bed. I just have more things to do for my address book for outlook and I should be writing in my journals for the swap. I just haven’t done that. Things with Mom are settling down after an argument I had with her Thursday. I think it was Thursday. It was over Personal Hygiene. She was being incredibly rude about it I am not stupid I know hygiene is important but she was going beyond trying to prove a point. The argument got very intense. I was about to throw in the towel and tell her do what ever she wanted to do with the house. Anyway the next morning I apologized to her and she said the apology was accepted (but she clearly had a tone and attitude about it). The Debate last night was pretty good. Mom and I got there around 7:15. While Mom was talking to Mike about the questions she was supposed to ask I talked with CT Bob as he was setting up the video feed for the debate to be on his blog. We talked about the porn that Blogger.com allows on their site. He did say he doesn’t want to make a lot of waves about it because he will lose the blog if he does. I saw Tessa there and went to hug her and she may have the stomach virus that’s going around town too. Yeah. Thanks for the info. Mike asked me to write down some questions. It is early Saturday morning the sun is out and rising. I wasn’t sure we would have sun because I have heard conflicting weather reports. Right now the wind is blowing a little. I have the AC on and probably should turn it off. I think I will do some laundry and stuff like that while I wait for a call from Mike B. He is supposed to call and let me know if I am helping the candidates today or not. I am the lucky one that gets the two BOE members who don’t like each other. Yippee for me.
