  This Recess has been like every other year, it flies by quickly.   I have been trying to do stuff around the house (cleaning and organizing a little) but it ultimately goes to watching TV.   I have done some meetups (mostly with the Finding friends group) and trying to manage finances. I almost had a heart attack last night when I got a low balance alert from the credit union.   One of my investment funds automatically draws out money for their account and I had to move some money around.    I am really looking forward to pay day this week.   I have at least three things to shell out but I would also like to put some money into the savings to take care of the taxes next month. The Water Company sent out an email to their customers announcing they will be starting monthly billing in January instead of the Quarterly they have been doing over the years.   Now the water is paid by the condo association we haven’t had to do pay individually and n...

  I haven’t done one of these in a long time. 1.         I am thankful for my family.   2.       I am thankful for my kitties.   3.       I am Thankful for my job 4.       I am thankful for my home 5.       I am thankful for my friends 6.       I am thankful my health   is status quo 7.       I am thankful for the community service groups I am in. I just couldn’t’ make time to write at all yesterday but that’s not a bad thing either.   I had a good time at the party on election night.   I didn’t get home until after 10 and went to bed by 11.   The reason it took me longer to get home I was admiring the area around the Housatonic river.   There is a brewery there and it’s literally on the riverbanks and has a marina nearby for the locals (I think).   ...

  Dear Debra:           It is noon on Wednesday and the sun is shining.   The USA NCIS marathon is on in the background. Tiger is sleeping beside me and Sky is under the covers on the bed.   I have a letter to a pen pal in AZ beside me and I thought since I wasn’t doing much today I would get it written.             I haven’t finished Monday’s entry yet and I didn’t write much yesterday.   I was kind of angry at a discussion Liz and I had Monday night.   We had gotten a call from Cheryl who just had a conversation with Lawyer guy and apparently he told her to have us make a list of things I still needed or wanted. So we did. We also talked about finances and hoped to submit to see if Lawyer would do as he promised.   We fully realize he may not.   Today was my first day back and as usual  it met with some challenges.  I couldn’t get to start scanning until 9:30.  .I kept getting invalid security credentials and before that Microsoft needed admin log in first.  When Bob came in he suggested that I reboot.  The Microsoft thing stopped but that’s when the invalid credentials and I checked my epic password was fine.  So when AC came in it worked. I spent the day working on the scanning of daily eobs.  I had asked AC if I should also do the stuff she does (the scanning of correspondence such as attorney and bankruptcies) she said no.  She suggested I just do the eobs.  The reason I asked her this is because she will be out longer than the recess.   It is depressing to hear the news that health officials are expecting a corona virus spike because so many people chose to ignore the holiday guidelines.    The latest numbers will be released for the state later today.   The mayor of East Haven has the virus and is now working from home.   It is 11 miles north east of here. As I mentioned yesterday my hope is that DG has returned and will do Friday’s mail while I finish Thursday’s and I am able to get to scanning.   My gut feeling tells me I will be in a huge rush to make sure things are cleared off and neat for the two weeks I am gone. The weather right now is okay but it is supposed to be a mess later this morning and into the afternoon.   I was hoping to get to the Goodwill with the bag of hangers.   I won’t now.   I have my session at 6:15 with Debra.   1. I am thankful for my family warts and all.  Everyone is well.  John is enjoying being a newlywed.  Nothing major I can think of.   2. I am thankful for my kitties. Still cuddly this week. 3. I am thankful for my job. I just celebrated my 29th year at the university with a covid exposure from a coworker.  Three are still out and I get my test this afternoon.   The Front doors to the building wouldn’t open for me but it seems to open for everyone else.  That made me very uneasy. 4. I am really anxious to get to the condo.  One of the cabinet shelves almost broke the dishes under it.  I was so frustrated.  Still haven’t signed for condo yet.  NOr have I gotten a closing date. 5.   Its Wednesday again and I am awed by the fact the week is going by so quickly.   It seems like the older I get the faster the years past.   I mean this is how long we have until Christmas and this many until the New Year.   I tend to get anxious about it.   It also happens around my birthday too On a happier note 29 years ago today I began as a full time employee at the University.   Its been quite an experience witness, three new University Presidents, several strikes, watched a union grow and become a force to be reckoned with, experienced some sadness, as we faced the terrorism, and wars that came from 9/11.   We said goodbye to many people over the years through retirements, job changes, and sadly death.   We welcomed new people as new jobs opened up.    I woke up around 2 to find out that my friend Ann’s families have symptoms of the virus.   Actually her nephew and friend have mild symptoms and Ann’s sister has worse s...

  1.       I am thankful for my family warts and all.   Jim had his 70th birthday today.   I sent him birthday greetings in the form of a text and birthday card. 2.       I am thankful for my kitties.   They have been getting into mischief lately.   I am trying to break them of the habit of eating and drinking human food left out.   (or in the sink as in some cases). 3.       I am thankful for my job.   Been busy with Scanning, and daily routine.   There was a cyber-attack alert last week for the University.   Knock on wood haven’t gotten caught up in all that yet.   Contract negotiations continue.   We have an EMP next week. 4.       I am thankful for the house/condo.   I am hoping it won’t be too much longer before I can move to the condo.   Still haven’t heard about the closing dates.   Anxious to change over a...

  Today didn’t turn out the way I expected.   My intention was to leave by 7 so I could do some things before starting but I didn’t leave earlier than normal.   I also ended up leaving my work ID in the car but I didn’t realize it until I got home.   I did send a message to supervisor telling him I may go home to get it but I learned I won’t need to today.   There is a way to use the printers/copiers by typing in my user id and password.      Who knew? I had a chat with GA via phone today she left me somethings to take care of.   She was amazing on the phone. She was Patient and kind.     I was pleasantly surprised.    She was telling me what she had to do this weekend (cleaning out the storage rooms) and she says changes are coming down the road.   She tried to contact me another time but she had AC do some scanning of mail.   Well here we are again.   Midweek and I am sitting at my infusion.   I have been here just before 8.   Today will take a little longer than usual because we had to have bloodwork done but I definitely will be out of here by 10:30.   I have the first two infusions of 2021 in the books.   The first one is January 13, 2021 at 9 and the second one is February 10 at 8.   The staff continues to be wonderful.   I even got to see Deana the infusionist I had when I would get the infusions in the office.   The only thing I am not happy about is the weight.   I registered at 216 lbs.   Not good. It is a nice day despite the clouds.   Its currently 62 degrees here and 64 back home.   It is supposed to get into the 70’s but no rain.   The rest of the week will be partly to mostly cloudy with some chance of rain.   Next week is starting off rainy.   I hope it helps with the current drought situation.   I still do...

Well it has another twelve hours before it ends but for all intents and purposes it’s over.  A lot of stuff went on this past month, mostly focusing on the house clearing, getting ready to put on the market, and having it sold and now waiting for the final approval and continuing the condo search. Cheryl sent me a few in the last few days, along with one that was suggested by my cousin.  Two were mobile homes as I mentioned.  The first one had three bedrooms, and was for $96,000.  I believe it was move in ready.  It was also not far from the highway.  The second one needed work.  That one is out.  The 4 condos she sent me 2 were repeats.  The one on Point Beach drive (and the shared laundry area) and the other ones were Foxwoods, and Melba Street and they both only allow 1 pet. We are looking at the one on forest road tomorrow at 5 pm.  They allow pets but not sure of the limit.  I did take the opportunity to ask Cheryl about ...

  It turned out to be a quiet day after my infusion.   I was surprised that my infusion went quickly. I was asleep for most of it.   I posted the entry from yesterday and then I fell asleep. I was out by quarter of ten and when I got to the car I called Liz and told her I would be home earlier than planned but I learned later that things had changed.   We were going to bury a ST. Joseph statue in the yard that’s supposed to bring good luck with the house selling.   Unfortunately, Andrea was busy this morning so I guess we will do it later.   Liz will let me know. I am happy to report that now I have two parties interested in the house and the sign hasn’t gone up yet. Liz has a friend who is a flipper and wants to look around.   By 4:30 that had happened and by 5 Chris the flipper came and took a tour of the place.   Both Liz and I told him stuff about the house (and few times I wished Liz had kept quiet).   Chris gave us a price but he knew...
