Midweek Reflection

It is Day 59 of the quarantine/Isolation.  I have been doing pretty much what I usually do.   I have been watching TV, getting on the computer and blogging or reading various sites and crossword puzzles.  I have been enjoying the virtual meetups each week.  I didn’t have too many work related meetings and I stopped going to the actual town hall meetings because I can see them later and there usually isn’t anything new.

I did attend my first virtual Ladies Guild meeting last Wednesday.  We voted in the new officer’s slate and will celebrate that probably in the fall once the state is back to normal.  Everything else has been cancelled until July 1.

I attended the virtual Birthday Party for my Niece Sophie last week.  It was so fun.   It was only a 30 minute activity and by the time we ended it she was wearing her cupcake frosting.  Earlier today a memory popped up on FB and it was my announcement that Sophie had been born the week before.

Last week was about health maintenance.  I had my infusion last week and made a few visits to the hematologist and getting my INR checked.  As of Monday it wasn’t going up or down so the Dr. took me off of the Coumadin and put me on Xaralto.  So I was pleased I could start having broccoli, asparagus, and all the leafy things.  I will include salads and have it more.

I talked with Trainer AW this past week.  I wasn’t forthcoming on Sunday and I was a little better today.  I have been trying to be aware of the foods I had and the amount of walking I did make.  I walked Sunday, a short walk on Monday.  I didn’t go walking on Tuesday and haven’t done it yet today.

I did ask AW when the Gym will reopen.  He tells me mid-June.  Yay.  So I need to remember the promise to go to the gym daily whether or not it’s in the morning or evening and whether or not its raining.  Yes I know this is contingent on their hours.

I did learn that one of the IT guys lost his wife this past weekend.  The three amigos told me about it.  I don’t like this.  Only specific areas get the information and others do not.  We all work together.

Well it is almost time for tonight’s virtual coffee talk and I need to do a few things before joining it…

Still Playing catch up

I am still playing catch up with my blogging this week.  I was so tired When I got home  that I put off the posting of entries until Thursday  I haven’t even updated my health blog much either.  Luckily I took some notes and will add them later.

The meetup went really well with two new members and two returning (Kathy, and myself) we had a great time.  There is a woman whose name is R and she is a retired teacher.   She shared with us her volunteering activities which includes teaching abroad.  Luckily the rain and thunderstorms held off until we got home safely.

When I got home Wednesday I did the regular routine and fed the cats.  It was about then the rain and thunder and lightning came.  It was incredible.  I saw some bolts of lightning and it was a bit scary for at least one furbaby.

I went to bed late that night I wanted to watch some of the NCIS marathon.  These marathons are far and few between on the channels that carry them.  As it is CBS has their summer programming on and that means its not on its regular time slot.  Unfortunately, anytime PP is on screen I walk away and or turn the channel.  I do look forward to the series return in September.  I read that they have started back up filming this week.

Thursday was fairly normal and more rain.  I finally got to finish the note to Dr. T and plan on mailing it on the way home today.   I have been texting and speaking with Mama R who is on the East Coast.  I haven’t heard from her today.

Since we were caught up with scanning and just waiting for more to be deposited I worked on Refunds. . I ended up working on the personals for most of the day today even with from MCACACE.  She had nothing to do until the latest batch of checks came through. I worked on the refunds until the last hour and a half.  I started to work on the refunds that had accumulated earlier in the day.   I will work on them Monday morning and when I finish for the day I will do refunds or readdress mail.

I didn’t go out at all Thursday.  No where,  No gym either.  I just did some odds and ends and went to bed late.

I was supposed to go to hear a band play in town tonight but it was far too hot and the people I had invited weren’t really excited about being in the heat listening to music and neither was I.  I will have more opportunities later this month.

I managed to finally mail some things to dr. This evening before coming home.  I am really glad because I didn’t want another day.  I also included a cute Birthday card for her.  It's on monday and I hope she gets it on time.

I heard from Mama R this evening we had been texting back and forth this afternoon.  They just got back to her sister’s house after leaving our friend Debi’s house in Tamarac. They had to drive in Thunderstorms and intense heat.  Mama says she will be there for another few days.  I am expecting to hear many stories of her visit.

I had to send a message to the City Public works this evening when I discovered my garbage wasn't taken yesterday.  There were still two bags of garbage in it.  If there was an issue I should have gotten a note or something.  I sent one to Chairman Phil as well.  I hope to hear from them by Monday.

I have to go to bed now I am getting tired and I have class tomorrow early.

Be safe my friends....

Another Saturday has come and gone.

I will be going to bed soon.  I have been surfing the net and updating my health blog with the latest walk I went on.  It just one of many great things that kept me busy today.

Did the normal Saturday morning routine.  Then got ready for the gym.  I had a successful run there.  Very pleased and like I said in the health blog can’t sabotage it.  Alex seems to think I can lose another pound by the last weigh in on Monday.

I went to get my blood work done but they couldn’t do it as the lab requests were expired as of June.  If I wasn’t going to see the Dr. then I wasn’t going to get them done then.  So I have to call them before I go there that afternoon.

So i came home napped a little did some odds and ends.  I had gotten a text from Liz checking to see if I could come over at 12 since she wasn’t ready for a visit from me earlier.  You see I had called her just as I arrived at the laps and she wasn’t up for company then.  She wasn’t feeling all that well yesterday (the reason I didn’t hear from her until my late evening text to her).

When I came home I did some odds and ends including putting away the clothes i have had hanging out in the kitchen.   I just got tired of them sitting out there.  So I put them away.

I cooked up some salmon and put it on my salad from last night it was good.  While I did that called my brother.  I told him about some of the things going on in Milford, new restaurants, new sports bars, etc.  We talked about the kids.  J Jr is heading to Spain in September will be studying abroad.  I thought for sure it was Mexico and grateful it isn’t .

Around 4 or so i ordered dinner from Outback again.  It was delicious.  Their salad was big but that and the entree still didn’t fill me enough.  It was grilled chicken with bbq and seasonal vegetables.  Plenty of water.

I took my walk the same route but I came via the opposite direction.  It took a little longer this time because I stopped so many times between resting and watering.  It was great.  On my way back i saw this:

Now I have to plan my early morning walk.  I am hoping to go a little further up on Oxford Road near my friend Joanie’s house.
I ran into a woman who is a bank teller for Webster and she told me the corporation closed the bank over by the church (it had been there for years!).  I was surprised and realized I did notice no one coming in or out of there every time I drove by it.  But I was the last to know.  I will need to tell Dr.T, When I finish the letter to her.

But all that has to wait...Need to go to

Mid Week Reflection

Hallelujah! NO Rain~actually there may have been over night but by the time i got up the sun was coming up.  IT is supposed to be in the 60’s today and It wouldn’t surprise me if it got there already. Depending your point of view the next few days could be rainy and cloudy. Again.  Someone mentioned to me today that this summer is going to be a rainy and humid season.

As i mentioned in my earlier post this week is going by fast-again.  Work has been pretty busy. Mostly doing the mail and some scanning. To me the number in pages and pieces out number the number of total batches.  Luckily when DG comes back next week I can focus on that. More and more of my colleagues will be giving me labels to print out for them. Just call me label Woman.

Not much discussion since Monday about the move and the set up of our cubicles will be.  There is a mock up starting next week I believe. I have been told and can expect smaller cubes and less space.

The union activities continue to be about grooming members to come on to the committee and to prepare for the contract. The petition Drive for Ortho department is being considered successful. It looks like we will be having a picnic in August location yet to be determined.

The house is cleaned this week thanks to Ms Livia!  My job now is to keep it up until her next visit which will probably be after the holiday.  It will be after the 4th District too.

I called the Handyman that Siduri recommended and we have scheduled a meet for this Saturday afternoon.  I hadn’t heard from the other guy and have decided not to call on him again. IF you can’t even call back and say “I am sorry too busy” or please don’t call me again. THen you will not get a call from me.  I will now give a three day waiting period before calling the next person My only fear is the $$$ it will involve.

I am still waiting on Nephew to call back with his recommendations on the back porch stairs.  For him I will wait forever because I know he is busy. I understand he made breakfast for Sis on Mother’s Day.  He does that all the time. He is a great cook. I remember when he made a meal for Mom and I once. It was delicious.

There are other projects I need to start to think about but before I do that need to pay off some other things (cc’s).  The normal stuff gets done with little to no problems.

I have been to the gym almost every day this week except last Thursday, Mother’s Day, Today.  I tried to go for walks twice so far weather permitting. Now have to make sure I do go daily during the challenge.  That will definitely be a challenge.

Made it to the ladies guild this week-late.  Forgot that I needed to call the former president for members name tags.  Made arrangements to meet up after mass this weekend to get them as well as sell tickets for the installation dinner next month.  I just don’t remember the date.
Tonight is the  Coffee Talk meetup and I am looking forward to meeting some of the new attendees.  They are coming from Berlin CT and middletown. One of them was wondering if we could have it during the day.  She can’t drive at night. I suggested to her that she ask someone in the area for a ride. She didn’t get a response.

The hiking meetup  the one with the leadership training was in Massachusetts just outside of Holyoke.  I chose not to go to this one as it was too far to go for it. The Hiking with Friends has their weekly hike every Wednesday but again too far for me to go on a Wednesday night.  Especially if I have to work the next day. JS and the boys haven’t been having any group walks either. The Out of shape hiking group is quiet as well. I may have to jump start their buts with an invitation.

Well I better get going...have a great one...

Midweek Reflection for May 1, 2019

This week has been hectic.  As usual I am behind in my blogging and I always seem to forget what happened during the week.  Right now though I am frustrated with a few things at work. THe scanning issues continue and I am tired of having to keep contacting them and they keep saying they are adding numbers when they clearly aren’t.  Well clear to me that is. I also think that AC and I need to make sure the boxes are better organized because they are not in strict numerical order.

They are also looking into another mode of indexing this stuff and there is a meeting next week when AC (I hope) returns.  I get aggravated because I am afraid I gave misinformation and then blame them for not doing their job.

Just like when the FMLA company needed more information they asked me to get it.  Why should I? I did my part my getting it to the Dr. I shouldn’t have to keep prodding them to do the work.  IF they needed more information they need to contact them not me. What precipitated this was a phone call I received from the DR. saying they haven’t gotten anything back from standard indicating what needed to be added.  I told them basically that when I had them on the phones yesterday. The woman from the fmla accused me of being rude telling them what they are going to do. REally FU. subsequently we got it done. I had gotten another call from the doctor’s office asking if this is for a leave of Absence. OMG I was ready to blow a gasket.  READ THE F***ing note from the Company PLEASE. She did and hopefully it is now all resolved by my next infusion and appointments.

Been trying to get to the gym daily.  Been following the food program as best I can.  I sort of fudged it a few times but still managed to lose the weight at the weight in last week.  I am hoping to do it again this coming week.

The weather has been rain mostly and very cooler than normal Temperatures.  On more than one occasion I was threatening to build an ark.
