I had to turn the fan up

Yesterday I had to turn up the fan downstairs to circulate the air and I opened the front door.   Felt better but the temperature continued to climb.  At one point it was 83.  I won’t be putting the AC on in the bedroom. I have another window fan in the window by the driveway and have a nice breeze that make it cold at times.
I did some laundry that I need to get going and made some lunch and “small snacks”.  Then I decided to update some of the finance folders on the computer.
I got a call from JOC early in the day and made plans to walk at 4.  I let her know that I was appreciative of the things she said.  She said we would talk more on the walk.  I missed her house so I had to turn around.  I got a call from an organization looking for money.  I still managed to get there right at 4. The walk was great and there was a wonderful breeze despite the temperatures.  We made plans to walk in the morning.
After the walk I headed to the gym with a favor to fulfill.  She asked me to mail something for her but it had to wait as I was really late for class.
I got to the gym got changed and went into the room and they moved it outside.  There were four of us students.  It was a tough one.  There were a few moments where I thought I was going to yak. I told Alex my weight and he seemed okay with it (I really don’t think so).  I think before we work out tomorrow night I will weigh myself.  I told him the Fitbit still not working and apparently the MapMyWalk app isn’t either.  I even told him I went on a walk.
It was after 6:30 when I left there after carrying things back and then chatting with another member before leaving.  I still had to go to the Post office and then I came home.
I fed the cats and fell back onto the couch for a few hours.  I watched the NCIS marathon until the cable system went out .   It was weird  It blanked out a whole slew of channels with the you could be watching this if you upgrade.  I tried to contact Optimum but that was useless.  So I decided to go to bed.  I also complained on the Milford FB page.  No answers until I went to bed and woke up this morning.  However, when I did get up around 10 I decided to reboot the box and it works.  I watched one more episode of the NCIS marathon and by that point I was tired.
I went to bed at 11.  I had to reset the fan.   I am not sure what I did but it works continuously now.  I was able to sleep until this morning.  The kitties chose to sleep elsewhere but were at their positions before the alarm went off.
I had planned going to class before the walk this morning but the earliest one was way too early (6:30 or so) and the next one was 9:30 and it would cut into the walk time with JOC.  I thought it was going to be 9 but when I saw it wasn’t I called JOC to let her know that 10 am is good time still but the classes were off.  I probably didn’t have to tell her but did
I am going to do some reading and organizing before the walk so I m going to go do it.

Man I was wrong

Well I was wrong about the weather today.    There were some clouds in the morning but sunshine for the rest of the day.  No rain at all and the temperatures were in the 70’s way until 7 tonight.

By 10 am the neighbors were washing cars, going to work, or mowing their lawn.  I heard from Liz and she said that her neighborhood was having a large tag sale and it was quite busy.

I did call the nursing home today to see if they know when they are opening up or not.  No one answered but I did leave a message.  Something tells me she won’t be calling me back anytime soon.

I made scrambled eggs for breakfast again and then I had steak a few hours later.  I also ate the rest of the mini peppers.  That held me until dinner time when I went and got pulled pork from Adams and some oatmeal cookies with maple cream filling.  They were gone by the time I was emptying the garbage.

I did go for a walk yesterday about 2 miles (the apps were not cooperating) and then spent the rest of the afternoon either watching TV or sleeping on the couch or bed.

Its almost time for my radio program and so I will say good night.

Yesterday's Afternoon Activities

Just before I started getting ready for my walk I heard from A.   He urged me to be good during the time away from the gym.  He says this would be a good time to push towards the goals.  I promised I will (and about 8 tonight I broke that promise).  I asked him to give my best to his lady and his fur babies.  He told me to be careful as well and I joked as long as I am not near any cars with Kettlebell weights I should be fine (I almost fell against one on Saturday).  After our chat I got a phone call from A’s colleague “d” and reiterated the emails and the posts on FB about closing.
It was after 2 when I started my walk.  It took about an hour.  It was chilly and over 2 mile walk.  It was really nice and invigorating.  I am not sure tomorrow will be the ideal walking day.  It is supposed to rain.  I still may go even if it is raining.
When I got back I chatted with my friend Annie who was waiting for some information so that she could start work   she has been relaxing and watching TV.  I also relaxed and watched TV and took a nap.
Around 4: 30 I fed the cats.  I ended up eating around 5.  I cooked the cauliflower rice and reheated a chicken breast.
I had my phone session with Debra.  It was basically about the current isolation and how I am handling it.  What I will do now that certain things are shut down.  I asked her what she has to do and she told me what the protocol for the Health plan was.  We made plans to talk by phone next week.
After that I went to Staples.  I went there primarily to get a replacement battery for the laptop but they didn’t have one for this model.  They recommended I get it from somewhere else for less money.  I did manage to get regular writing pads (lined) and a box of envelopes.  I wasn’t sure if I had a lot left.
I stopped at Adams (hence the broken promise comment) and got frosting and a container of Fruit.  Guess what I ate first?
The rest of the night I spent watching the NCIS marathon on Oxygen channel.  I am disappointed that production had to shut down early for the season but it’s a necessary evil.  What I don’t get is why a number of people are concerned that its permanently or cancelled?  Are they living in a bubble?
Well I am going to bed.  For some reason I am tired.

3 mile walk

I have been home from the walk about 2 hours.  It was great.  I arrived after Joan had been waiting and then Susan and then Jen.  We walked along the beach front communities of Point beach, Bayshore, and Point Look out Road.  Areas that I drive through but not really looked around and the houses are beautiful and a couple of times reminded of California coast line.  The views into Long Island sound were peaceful and so beautiful.  The weather was awesome for it.  At times I lagged behind but tried to keep up as much as possible as they discussions were about the event that Joan is planning in May, and just of the mental health system that is in need of repair.  We finished by quarter of ten and as you can see it’s over an hour.

Since I did the walk I didn’t go to the gym as of yet.  Not sure I am going to but I will see.

I came home made some coffee did a little more laundry and at noon made steak and vegetables again.  Sadly it isn’t cutting the hunger away.  I did have more yogurts but I got nothing.

I am leaving shortly for bingo and then to pick up the dresses from the dry Cleaners.  It’s only a month overdue.  I am surprised Liz hasn’t asked ye, even after I talked with her via text.  I will check with her when I pick her up.

I am going to need more coffee even though I have had a few today.  I feel exhausted but accomplished.

Haven’t gone into the attic and I am not sure I will be….

My Sunday

My Sunday started fairly early even though I took my time getting ready for the Milford Walk challenge.  I got the cats taken care of and then had breakfast and got ready to leave.  I took a selfie before leaving the house.  Then headed to the neighborhood I was walking.  I got to the starting point for a few minutes before 8 and got set up.   Saw some local residents walking their dogs and chatted with one then continued.

As I was passing JoanieS’ house I did a video and can be found on FB.  I continued the route and retraced part of the route as I was returning to my car as I wanted to make sure I did the route fully.  I remembered I had messed up last year.  It took an entire hour.  I got back to the car sent a message to JoanS and headed to Fowler Field.  I stopped at Dunkin D to get coffee and then made it to the pavillion.

When I got there there weren’t a lot of people but they were setting up still on some levels.  There was water and doughnut holes.  WE had to highlight our route and sign. Ultimately more people arrived and  I got to see people from different aspects (ladies’ guild, or the gym). The mayor was there as well.  I left sometime around 11:30.

I spent the rest of the day vegging.  Sleeping and watching TV. I actually wrote a couple of pen pal emails to K in Colorado.  Later in the day I cooked some steak for supper and did some laundry.

Debra wasn’t feeling well so we didn’t have a phone session so we will speak later on in the week.

I know I had too much coffee again as I didn’t go to sleep until after 1 this morning and ended up watching a 2 am charmed episode.  I slept on the couch again and sky was there and it got uncomfortable.  Will have to sleep normally again.

I am going to have to call Lawn Guy again but I think I need to get back to tagging stuff before I do that.  EMpty out stuff that needs to be emptied out.  Finish the shredding and update addresses etc.

I was going to do that after exercise class this morning but I am bailing on it for now..  I can do cardio before tonight’s class.

A mixed bag Weekend

Hey all,  it's been a rather mixed bag of activities this weekend.  Yesterday morning I attempted and made the first mile of the 5k race at Woodmont day.  I clearly wasn’t as prepared for it as I had hoped.  Not really dressed for it and didn’t eat anything prior.  I was a little disappointed in that aspect but with many messages of encouragement and support it took the sting out of it.  I was really tired for the rest of the day.

Not as tired that I couldn’t make my session with A and work out.  We discussed the past week and food intake and the step goals.  I had to promise to come to classes today (heading there now) and Monday.  Already Monday will be difficult because I have a family gathering for dinner tomorrow night at the same time class is.  I might be able to go to the 7:30 class.

After the session I went to Panera for their asian sesame salad.  I came home and had it.  The rest of the afternoon I slept until I got a text message from Liz inviting me to dinner last night with Jen and Baby Sophie.  I also had time with her sister-in-law and niece.  I left fairly early.  Liz texted me this morning to see if I was okay.  I told her of course but I was more tired than I realize.  She is really excited about having everyone at her house for dinner tomorrow night.

I was relieved that the Lawyer decided to cancel our meeting yesterday.  He wanted to have his meeting with Debra first and so we will speak another time.  I knew this was coming and when Debra and I spoke on Friday I told her to call me the minute they were finished.  I was relieved because I knew that I would not react well to whatever he was going to suggest or insist upon.

Anyway I went to bed around 9:30 and was probably asleep by 11.  I spent some time surfing the web.

Sky tried to get me up at 5:30 and dd pretty well.  We did our normal Sunday routine,  eventually I went back upstairs and did crossword puzzles for a few hours and signed up for class and then watched TV and did some writing.

I had class there were maybe 9 of us.  It was great to be there.  Unfortunately my ankle continued to give me trouble as it does from time to time this afternoon and evening.

AFter class I came home had some veggies and then relaxed until it was time to go to bingo.  Made a stop at DD and I suspect that I won’t be sleeping much tonight.

I went to the nursing home where I found RecreationalKathy doing paperwork and then started setting up for bingo.  She went to get more residents.  I started putting on the bingo cards.  I had seventeen people and today was really a long hour.  They were very chatty and not enough chips.

I left around 3:30 and headed home.  I relaxed for a bit and then ordered dinner from outback (the porterhouse steak looked more like pork).  I fed the cats, and did some laundry.

I finally pulled the big girl panties on cleaned the main part of the refrigerator.  The top of it as well as one of the onions was degrading into mush.  It took about 3 small boxes of baking soda.  I took my time and tried not to get frustrated and it looks much better.  I took a couple of the shelves out and it took me a little bit of time to get them back in.

The only thing that worried me was the fact there was a film developing on the shelves and a few pieces of hair strands which gagged me and probably will after you all read this.  Admittedly I only did half a job because most of the shelves on the door were fine except the freezer ones.  I didn’t do the freezer though and I probably should have turned the machine completely off.

Some time after the family gathering I will go grocery shopping.  I have a list already to get.

As I mentioned the weather this weekend has been hot and beautiful...very hot yesterday as it got into the 83 I believe.  Today was in the high 80’s and was not conducive to walking anywhere.  As I write this it is 80 degrees when nearly an hour ago it was 88.  We may get some rain over night.  That’s just great i opened more windows to get some cross breeze.

The titans seem to be handling the temperatures well.  Sky travels from upstairs to out back.  Tiger stayed out back for most of the day until it was time for dinner. She is there now.  I let Sky go downstairs to the cellar a couple of times and I opened the closet door for him to go there. I probably will find him there once I finish for the night.

This week will have family visits early in the week.  The Gym will dominate the week for the most part.  I have two meetups this week.  The mid week coffee talk and then dinner with the ladies on Saturday night.  I will be meeting with debra at the end of the week.  While work will have a couple of meetings and a pizza party to celebrate another successful FY end.

I was going to update my health blog but it will take far too long and my self imposed bedtime is coming up fast.

A Busy Morning

Today was a busy morning.  I pushed myself to get to Alex’s 8 am class this morning.  I registered for it really early and when I arrived I learned that Alex had sent me a text.  We would not be having our session today he has a graduation to attend.  So I don’t know when we are rescheduling it but will find out on Tuesday.  Since we didn’t have a session I attended the 10 am Foundation class with Pat.

THere were some new and different exercises I am not used to doing.  I did them though.  In between the classes I went for coffee and then did 20 minute cardio on the treadmill.  Apparently they were having issues with the computer.  I had just received confirmation emails for all the classes I signed up for.  I have signed up for Dan’s class for tomorrow considering it won’t really be walking weather tomorrow.  Unlike today.

My strategy meeting with Alex for the Fitness challenge is after the 8 am class next saturday so I expect I will be at the Gym all morning again.  It will be pretty much the same goals (getting to class every day) Yes he asked me about that during class.

Before I got into my chores I took a walk.  I wasn’t sure the weather would be agreeable for the walk later on in the evening.  It was in the same area I was in last saturday but slightly different.  It took about an hour and I stopped to talk to  few strangers..who were cat parents.

When i got home I relaxed and then I decided to order dinner from Outback for 4:30.  I got steak medallions, asparagus and half a blooming onion-i had thought.

While i waited for my supper I decided to get some stuff done.  I knew the laundry needed to be done so that was the first.  Second was straightening the kitchen and cleaning the sink and emptying the dishwasher.  AS always took my time. Filled it up again and sent it through.

Since there is nothing on that’s holding my interest I think I will go to bed.  See you tomorrow.

No Major Plans

It's 12:30 am Tuesday.  I am starting my second week in LV.  We just got home from an evening at the Freemont Street experience.  It was amazing.

We parked and started our night El Cortez.  We walked through part of the experience to get to Tony Roma's for dinner.  I had the Chicken Mojo. There was so much I had to bring it home. We spent the next several hours split up.  M did some gambling and R and I enjoyed the music and the walk and window shopping. The Light show was awesome and going every hour on the hour.  The Zip line users were over head and I am telling you I would be screaming the entire time!

We made a quick stop at the store for my fruit and yogurt and a card for my co worker Michele who had lost her sister after a short illness.

We made it to the Exploration Peak Park...we did the mile long loop around the park.  I was slightly disappointed because we couldn’t really find the start of the other trails that really turned out to be too much (and in not shaded).

We had dinner and a quiet night afterwards.....

An Awesome Weekend!

This has been an awesome weekend.  The weather is absolutely gorgeous, the activities have been wonderful.

Yesterday I had a great breakfast with Siduri at Twin Pikes Diner in East Haven.  WE spent two hours eating and talking about things going on at work, and in our lives and we are making tentative plans for a museum visit sometime in the near future.  While at the diner I saw a woman who reminded me of my coworker Jennifer.  It turned out to be her sister.  This girl looked exactly like Jenn.  I can’t believe in all the diners in all the world I would walk into one and run into her family.  AFter our breakfast we went back to Siduri’s house and got to see her boys.  I was able to give them a treat and then we sat and relaxed and talked about pen paling.

Soon it was time for me to leave for the gym.  I headed straight there and for the first time in a while I was early. AT least for our noon time sessions.  The Inbody had good news and bad news.  I gained a few pounds but the Body Fat  percentage went down, and the skeletal Muscle Mass (SMM) went up so he was pleased with that part.   So we had a good work out.

Tomorrow night is the Fitness Challenge kickoff at 6.  Alex was telling me what to expect. We get measured, sign some big form,  We meet with our overall team, get our supplements then we go home.  I am a little nervous about this whole thing.  You know I am not strict with the food I eat and don’t always track it.  For the next two months I can’t have desserts or varied breads but the things he tells me.  The wraps that are 5 grams protein or whatever.

After the gym I came home and binge watched NCIS and the Star Wars Marathon and made dinner of pork burgers, and protein shakes. ARound 6 I took a long walk in preparation for today. I went to bed by 9 or so.  The kitties did their own thing.

This morning was the Bridges Step Forward Memorial walk in Milford.  I got there by 8 (really didn’t have to be there until 9:30 but I wanted to make sure that I was signed in).  Watched the cyclists take off when they were told.  I got to see some old friends I haven’t seen in a while (Lawyer Bob being one of them) meeting new people.  The route we took was just under 3 miles and took us along the Marina and Fort Trumbull BEach area of Milford.  I had been there once before many years ago when I did another walk.  But to see the homes and neighborhoods that I don’t normally see was really great.  This is why I like to walk now.  I let both Alex and Becca know I survived but I also know they will see it when they get on FB.

My walking companions and I got back to the starting point after 11:30.  We were supplied with sandwiches from Subway.  I had a six inch veggie delite.  No chips but water.  Soon I was on my way home.  Stopped at DD for some seasonal flavored coffee.

I seem to be having issues with the TV/Cable today...it goes on and I can see the different channel offerings but nothing else.  No sound and no video otherwise.  I checked the Cable company and there are no problems.  I have a feeling it's the remote.  It could be wire connection either way I am not in a hurry to do anything about it.  I can watch Stuff online if need be.

I seem to be having issues with the dryer again.  Clothes not drying.  I am trying to find the phone number for the repair guy because he may have a number duct cleaner.  I suspect the ducts need to be cleared out again.  Until I find that number I will be hanging stuff outside.

For obvious reasons I didn’t do bingo.  I probably could have but  i was tired and don’t need to over book my time with everything again.  If she is going to give me a hard time about this then I have decided that I will not be continuing to do bingo anymore.  I don’t want to change my dates or times.

I will be at Campaign headquarters this afternoon for phone banking for the candidates today.  Its from 5-7.  There were a few more activities this afternoon but again didn’t want to overextend myself.   Again I did that last week and I was tired.

I have to do some grocery shopping afterwards.  I have to bake and cook for things this week.  The chili will be for me and the baking is for the Ladies Guild on Wednesday.

I decided to see if the paper shredder that i got last year and until today had been giving me trouble and thankfully it worked.  I can start getting rid of things now

Right now though I need relax for a bit.

My Milford challenge

I made it!  This morning at 9 am I left the house (forgetting my water bottle).  It was gray and overcast.  A little chilly but I managed to walk most of the route I was given to me.  It took me about an hour to do.  I took a few pictures.

I was surprised I didn't’ see anyone else from the walk around but i learned later at the meeting place (on the green in town) they were nearby.  Other people were around getting their morning routine going.  I was very surprised to see a few people I knew from the Ladies Guild at this meeting point in town.  WE had a group picture taken but you really can’t see me.  Next year it will be on September 8.  Joan is planning many more events like this throughout the year.

It was sometime after 11 when I got home.  I decided to make lunch (along the lines of my dinner the other night with the pork pattie) and decided to relax until it was time for me to go to bingo.  I did some laundry surfed the net etc.

Before leaving for the nursing home I chatted with Neighbor Don.  He was sitting out on the front porch waiting for the Mrs.  We talked about school, and my walk and me heading to bingo.  He told me he saw an Eagle and Osprey fighting for some lunch.  I wish i Had seen that.  By the time we finished talking it was late for bingo or so I thought.

It was just 2 when I arrived at the nursing home.  I discovered that there wasn’t bingo at all but Grandparents celebration!!!  This really pissed me off. You say you need me to be there for bingo but yet you don’t tell me when you are having special activities.  I wasted time, gas, getting there.  I don’t like it when the Director does this.

So I came back home and vegged out in front of the TV until it was time for me to head to Campaign Headquarters.  Brandon was there making follow up calls to various donors.  He said people came earlier and walked but getting volunteers from the DTC to come out is still an issue.  Nija came around 7 with dinner and she told us of her morning meetings and it was all very interesting.

I made a number of phone calls (about 14 for the hour and half) but I was chatting and listening/learning about things that go on regarding networking and campaigns.  It really was very interesting.

Sinc I have been home I have done a few odds and ends and of course watched TV.  I even closed the windows.  The laundry is pretty much done and the dishwasher emptied and refilled again.  It is not completely filled yet so that will be another day or so.

I am getting tired but I really need to get some thank you notes written.  I am so embarrassed to say that Dr. T emailed and asked if I got her birthday present she sent me.  I thought I sent her an acknowledgement email.  I don’t know if I can do it tonight but I am going to try.

I am also feeling bad because I made a promise to Siduri that we would get together for our collective birthdays.  Unfortunately,  I haven’t been able to commit to anytimes.  Until this second.  I am going to see if we can have breakfast this weekend which is her birthday!  During the week is really hard especially with everything I do after work..

It really must be cold...both cats are sitting next to me on the sofa.  They have been doing their own thing today between napping under the sofa, chasing each other around the house.  Spending some time in the cellar.  Last night I slept on the couch and for most of the night Sky slept on my legs. Tiger slept under the dining room table.

Well the news is almost over for the night.  I am going to finish the last half hour of NCIS and then head to bed.

Last Day of Vacation

Considering that today is my last day of vacation.   I am going to make sure things that were not done (housework mostly) are done...
