Returned to work

Today was pretty much what I expected.   We did our normal routine and around 8 I went out and cleaned the car off from last night’s snowfall.   It wasn’t much but I did manage to put the ice melt out last night before going to bed.   It didn’t take long to clean off and I was on my way to North Haven for the Bone Density test. The whole thing didn’t take long at all had to answer a bunch of questions and then the test was done.   I was out the door and on my way to the office.   I had called DG on the way to the appointment to remind her where I was going and when I would arrive.   I admitted I may have forgotten to tell anyone including the FMLA coordinating company. I got to the office around 9:30 and checked in with DG and she was fine (doing mail that arrived earlier known as the Health logic.   She was fine with that and I did scanning.   We talked about how we would separate them by dates.   It was not making sense to me but...

Monday Musings

Well it’s after ten and sunny out.   I sent the pertinent emails and included EV and told her there wasn’t a line that says I was in contact with anyone tested positive.   EV says she will call me sometime today.   I did get a thank you email from AD, and PTO request approval from Supervisor. Nothing else like “hope you are okay” or something.   I just got an obnoxious text from EV. I asked her if she was in contact with the others who are in this event she said its not her job to contact people that the Health Plan should do it.    I am already aggravated by everything that’s going wrong today I don’t need her shit.   She has a habit of being a little selfish and abrupt and on more than one occasion annoyed people with her attitude. I am still trying to get my grocery delivery set up and as usual having fucking problems.   I tried Aldi and it won’t deliver to me.   The one it would be delivering from is up in Wallingford.  ...

Well it’s early Monday.   I believe we are in a heatwave. It’s already 74 degrees and its only 9 am.   It is expected to get into the mid-80s.   Wait a second I see by the weather forecast we might get rain by the end of the week.   It would be nice I heard its been awhile since we got rain.   It seems like it by looking at my lawn.   I am not big on watering the lawn.   I like when Mother Nature does it.   I realize I may not have a choice. I went walking late yesterday afternoon with JOC and it was a good walk.   The conversations were a bit frustrating.   I found myself critical of a lot of things and she didn’t seem to mind but she has a favorite phrase that I can’t seem to recall but one thing that sticks out is “for the grace of God goes me”.   Something my sister says to me quite often for herself.   Anyway, I don’t want to jeopardize that relationship so I need to temper my views in some way.   Anyway, I am not s...

Memorial Day 2020

The Memorial Day holiday was a fairly quiet but rainy day.   It actually rained on and off until late afternoon.   It stayed in the 60’s all day.   I did some odds and ends around the house and worked n some pen pal letters that I received during the night.   I had to deal with another moron that really felt entitled and told me I was being rude.   I continued to answer some emails that I received late in the day too. I did our normal morning routine as well.   I had to clean the table because one of the titans did a hairball.   They seemed okay the rest of the day.   Sky continued to watch the birds in the bush in the back yard and he was so funny. Mid-morning I went to Shoprite but before going in to shop I called Dave and we talked for an entire hour.   We discussed friendships and I found out a friend of ours lost her father the week before.   We talked about elementary school and life for preteens and then high school. It was ...

Monday Musings

Yesterday turned out to be a very lazy day.   After I posted yesterday’s entry I went back to sleep for a short time.   Then eventually made my way to the couch and barely moved from it until it was time to go to bed.   I did manage to do some cooking but it was only enough for lunch and dinner and tonight’s dinner.   I noticed I didn’t have a whole lot of side vegetables left and will have to start another list soon.   I still have fish and shrimp.   I will have to at some time bite the bullet and spend time defrosting the shrimp and cooking it. Yesterday was also Sky’s turn at hairballs.   The first two that I saw and cleaned up were like the ones that Tiger had on Saturday.   I discovered later either of them had two more in the back room and I will be cleaning that up soon.   Tiger was good though was fine and seemed to eat their food okay but I am not anxious to push it.   It could be the treats I did give them this weeken...

Monday Musings

Its Monday again and it’s a little overcast (somehow Cortana) said it was sunny.   Personally she needs to get her eyes checked. So as many of you did I woke up to the news out of Nova Scotia Canada where there was a mass shooting.    Seventeen People including a Canadian Royal Mounted Police officer and of course the shooter ended up dead.   The motivation for the shooting is still under investigation. I was in Nova Scotia many years ago with my Parents for a family vacations I don’t remember the towns (they were beautiful though) but I don’t know where these towns are.    As I look at the map it could be one of the places we went.   I have always loved Canada.   Maybe because my maternal grandfather and his family migrated from Quebec and I just love the country. I received an early morning message from Cleaning Lady Livia.   She wanted to come and clean the house and came around 11.   While she cleans the rest of the house I w...

I spoke to my supervisor today and told him that I may have to reconsider coming in to the office right now.   I explained that my with my health challenge that my family was concerned for me.   Apparently he was thinking about it too.   He spoke to ED SR and she agreed and said it would be okay that I don’t come in until they call me in.   When I left for home I called both J and L and they were relieved and then I called Mama R and told her the same thing. The daily updates continue each day.   As of this morning the President said this week will be the most difficult and saddest.   That's just great.   Among some of the updates I Heard was the municipalities are asking residents to wear masks and gloves when out in public.   That would be great except not everyone can get gloves or masks.   My Thoughts are if I am 6 feet away it will be fine.   I haven’t read any of the updates from work.   I feed if they don’t pertain dire...

Monday Musings

I came to a decision today about moving.   I am not doing it.   At least not right now.   This is where I feel safe, I have lived here all my life and I like the area and I like the people around here.   I have shared my feelings with my family and they seem to understand and are supportive.    Some have expressed some views on it but as I said in the end supportive.    There is one outside the family that miss understood my decision but my hope is by the end of the week it will be resolved.   That doesn’t mean I don’t stop trying clearing out stuff and getting rid of stuff I don’t want or need.   To make room for the things I may need in the future.   It was also pointed out that if the opportunity arises where the decision to where it is not feasible to stay I won’t be so overwhelmed. I have discussed it with Debra and we will be discussing it more on Friday when we have our phone session.   There are more things I ne...

Monday Musings

Today was my first day back at work.   I left here just before 7:30 and got to the office by quarter of (like I would any other day).   There were other people slowly getting to the other floors.    Staff members from 25SP were working here.   I don’ t know why.   On my floor it was AL, ITMarty, ITRandy, and much later the manager of Credentialing.   I chatted with AL from a safe distance.   After scanning some of my pen pal letters I started on working. There was as bin of US mail that I worked on, and then a box and then a third box that had batches to be worked.   SupervisorBob who had arrived sometime after me was quite surprised to see it.   I worked on that for most of the morning and then sometime around lunchtime I began working on the Health logic.   By the end of the day there were 7 or 8 of them and I had worked on one or two of them before leaving for the day.   I will be there for the rest of the week.   ...

Monday Musings

I got up at 6:30 in the morning and did our morning routine.   I wanted to stay in bed until 7 but that wasn’t going to happen.   I understand it’s a bit chillier than it was during the weekend.   It’s sunny and 30 degrees for now.   It won’t be getting any higher and it may get cloudier.    I am not going out much except for the gym tonight.   I may even go earlier or I may go for a walk at some point.   I am waiting for emails from the gym or posts to the FB page.   I did notice that A was on line this morning. I am trying to update my things to do list for the week.   Considering everything for the most part is shut down I won’t be doing much outside (walks, trips to goodwill) and perhaps to Staples to get a new battery for the laptop. Speaking of the laptop Microsoft updated my computer to use Microsoft edge.   It promises privacy and a whole bunch of things.   I hope I won’t be sorry.   I can also empty out th...

Well its Monday again and cold again but not for long.   I hear it will be beautiful.   I also hear that the next two days will be rainy.   Then back to sunshine. I never made it to the gym yesterday.   I think I did okay on the diet.   Vegetables, and trail mix and a little pork tenderloin before I threw it out.   I went to sign up for classes tonight and it looks like they have implemented a waitlist for classes.   So, I signed up for the 7:30 class and one after our session tomorrow night. I went to bingo and remembered why I am getting tired of doing this activity for the residents every two weeks now.   First, they are ungrateful.   They can be rude (yes, I know they are elderly, sick, and whatever but if you have followed me for a long time you will realize I believe that doesn’t give them the right to treat people like shit).   Of course, I don’t always like the way the director of Recreation lets me know if there has b...

Today is President’s Day where we honor all Presidents but early on in history it was to honor George Washington and Abe Lincoln as they both were two very important contributors to this countries life.   It is a federal holiday so the banks and post office are closed. Schools around the country are closed too.   I always looked forward to those but you always had to prepare for the rest of the week.   I will be working tomorrow along with many of my colleagues at the university.   It was not one of the holidays we were given days off.   I am hoping we have enough things to do tomorrow since we won’t be getting much mail. I have been trying to see if everyone across the country has it off but either I am not looking at it right or not paying attention (it is after all 12:18)..I guess I could look at people’s blogs or each state’s holiday calendar. I have had a couple of worrisome moments.   I went to two different websites one is cheetsheet for H...

Well I had an interesting end to the weekend.   As I was about to get ready to go to Liz’s   my SIL stopped by for a visit.   We spent what I believe to be a half hour to 45 minutes chatting.   I told her my plans for downsizing, my frustrations with those who didn’t come and help and that I must depend on people from my groups to help.   She jumped at the offer to help sell it.   I shut that one down fast (considering she is spending a lot of time in the Philippines).    She asked what I thought the house needed etc.   She also explained what the process would be.   Like that wasn’t explained to me?   She asked if I had a lawyer (expressed my opinion on him as well). She shared how wealthy she is now.   Really?   She has several “businesses and she is looking to have someone manage them while she is travelling and attending seminars on speaking and Toast mastering and whatever.     This isn’t me spea...

MOnday Musings

This has abeen a challenging day.   First, I didn’t get up when I wanted to, but I did get up my normal time and did the normal routine.   I hadn’t slept well last night due to the excessive amount of coffee I had yesterday to stay warm.   I left the house quarter after the hour and got to work at a decent hour.   DG had been working on the backlog of mail from last week and I worked on the readdress mail. DG/shadow was unsure of a few things and I would learn later she gave mail to the finance department head from mid-December.   IT made the EXDIR aggravated.   I have reinstituted that I will check the mail and go over the mail with her every freaking day!   DG says she only gave her one thing and that the rest she has no idea.   She gave a document to Credentialing and it wasn’t theirs.    Just what I am freaking needing. The scanning is back online.   Not getting new scanners after all.   I am not sure why but this wh...

As I expected there wasn’t much snow on the ground from the storm yesterday when I got up but it was still my intention to get on the shuttle today.   Unfortunately I never did get on the shuttle.   Sometimes the storms around here tend to be big and sometimes not so much like this one.   But as I said to Liz yesterday there will be plenty more sometime soon.   AS I mentioned I never made it to the shuttle on time and ended up driving in.   I made it in by 7:40 and shortly after that started to work.   I was hoping to focus solely on the scanning but that wasn’t to be the case.   Shadow called out sick.   So I did about an hour worth of scanning.   Then I spent the rest of the day on the mail.   I decided to take the end of the week off to be able to bake and get things done back home.   I am sure I won’t have any problems with anyone (at least I hope).   Wish me luck on that one. I don’t have any Medical app...

Monday Musings

Its Monday again!   The day like all the previous weeks is going by fast.   I woke up after 5:30 but because I didn’t go to sleep until way after 1 I knew this would be the outcome.   The kitties slept with me almost the whole night.   Sky didn’t come up right away (he usually takes about an hour before he does).   Sky came and got me at 5:30 and that’s when I popped up and got ready for the day.   The normal morning routine.   I started getting ready for work around 6:20 and while I did that kept checking the counter and the floor.   Neither were damp or had puddles on them.   That confirms that the window at the sink east side of the house is going to be a problem.   I meant to tell Liz when I was texting her, but I want or should tell Lawyer Bob first. I left here at a decent time, but the sun was blinding me like it was blinding everyone else on the highway.   I made it safely to the office by 7;40. ABarber came back t...
