Didn't get much accomplished today

Well it is late Thursday afternoon and the most I did today was having an hour long chat with my friend Dave about work, family, and plans for the rest of this year.   I told him about my experience with the hematology office earlier this week an d he just listened.   He asked a couple of questions about it but what else can he say? I spent a good part of the day watching TV and made lunch.   I was still hungry by the time I left for the store. I got to the store probably about quarter of 4 and it took me 45 minutes to get my list that consisted of a mixture of healthy and not so healthy.   It would have been fine if the woman who checked me out got rude with me and I told her off.   She told me there was a limit on the meats that I got and I told her they are different cuts and she told me “I don’t make the rules”.   I looked at her and told her she was rude.   I did give her the one I wanted to give back but I ended up telling her that she was ...

Thankful Thursday

1.             I am thankful for family warts and all.   My Niece Lisa is sporting a new boot.   She sprained her foot this week.   My Brother started a new job with meals on Wheels.   2.             I am thankful for my Kitties.   They are certainly feeling much better than they were over the weekend. 3.             I am thankful for my job.   No major updates really.   Did watch a Town hall meeting and we have been encouraged to keep up with any annul training to be done.   I haven’t because I don’t think my computer can access it but not sure. 4.             I am thankful for the medical profession that keeps me on the road to good/better health.   I have a phone session with Debra tomorrow and my infusion next wee...

Midweek Reflection

Today has not been the best day for me.   I am still pretty angry with the Hematology office telling the Visiting nurse that I should not have stopped the Lovenox shots and that’s why my numbers are so low.   The nurse spoke to Alex and it was not written down and he asked the Dr. himself.   Oh really then what did that bitch who in my opinion is a detriment to the patients ask the damn doctor last week?   This looks like I ignored Medical advice.   I was furious.    I managed to tell Alex this without swearing this morning when I called.    I let them know I was unhappy with this situation and that it needs to be rectified.   He asked if I wanted to speak to the doctor.   I said no.     My hope is that it won’t happen again. Apparently I missed the 4 th district meeting last night.   It was a conference call.   I sent Phil an email apologizing for the absence.   I am hoping he is going to tell me...

Debating

I have been sitting in the bed reading blog entries, and reading the latest debate on reopening the state, and a little TV watching.   I have also been thinking maybe it’s time I took some stuff to Good will after my blood drawing this morning. It should take about 20 minutes and then I can head over to the Goodwill center and drop off the walkers that have been in the back hall forever.   I am tired of moving that crap around.   There are other things there that I have wanted to get rid of.   Such as the hand held pasta makers.   You know damn well I have neither the patience nor the time to do that. I had an interesting experience this morning NPR’s Morning Edition had a segment on the corona virus and prison population and how they are dealing with it and how it is affecting the prison population and then I read this account from one prisoner but of course can’t find it now but it was on WordPress blog for pen pals for prisoners.    All I ...

The Hematology office called

Actually I got a call from the NP from the office.   He wanted me to know my INR was still not rising.   It was still 1.0.   He asked me if I had been eating any vegetables.   I told him peas but nothing else he asked if I had avocado.   I wish.   So he wants me to come in tomorrow. I told him I was supposed to be coming in anyway. So I made sure I took my warfarin at 6 this time.   I have been going over what I can and can’t eat while on warfarin.   I haven’t had salads and I haven’t had liver.   I thought I read something about chicken.   It had Brussel sprouts on “can eat”.   So I am going to ask him again.   The only vegetables I have had really are the Cauliflower rice.   I have had fish but I think that’s okay.    I will ask him if the chicken wings are okay.   I just remembered when I had the pasta last week it was with tomato sauce and the same with the eggplant.   I will have to remember to...

Monday Musings

Yesterday turned out to be a very lazy day.   After I posted yesterday’s entry I went back to sleep for a short time.   Then eventually made my way to the couch and barely moved from it until it was time to go to bed.   I did manage to do some cooking but it was only enough for lunch and dinner and tonight’s dinner.   I noticed I didn’t have a whole lot of side vegetables left and will have to start another list soon.   I still have fish and shrimp.   I will have to at some time bite the bullet and spend time defrosting the shrimp and cooking it. Yesterday was also Sky’s turn at hairballs.   The first two that I saw and cleaned up were like the ones that Tiger had on Saturday.   I discovered later either of them had two more in the back room and I will be cleaning that up soon.   Tiger was good though was fine and seemed to eat their food okay but I am not anxious to push it.   It could be the treats I did give them this weeken...

Bullet points

·          I managed to clean the refrigerator out yesterday.   I was going to time myself but I did stop and Talk to Neighbor Deana next door who was working in her yard with her husband.      We talked about pets.   She has seen the titans in the windows watching her at times.   Anyway the Refrigerator looks empty again.   ·          I went for walk late in the afternoon.   There were a lot of people out.    Some were wearing masks and some were not.   I started to but took it off as I was practicing the social distancing.   So apparently was everyone on the beach.   It wasn’t packed but there had to be at least 30 clusters of people.   I stopped and talked with people who were walking pets. ·          Very happy that my coffee order came yesterday.   I think I am set for the entire ...

Rain ended late in the afternoon

The Rain stopped just before dinner time and the sunset was beautiful.   It also allowed me to put some of the broken up boxes in the recycle bin.    There is still a lot more to put in and I may have to bite the bullet and fill the bin with them all because it looks like we are having crappy weather all week. The rest of the afternoon I made my lunch and spent reading blogs, watching the shows I have been able to watch since the Stay at home quarantine.   I even got to play a number of crossword puzzles, and a few updating files. I checked in with the three amigos.   MaryA says her BIL may have the Corvid 19 virus.   So we are saying prayers.   I tried not to bother them so much as they were working.   The kitties spent the afternoon ambling around eventually had their dinner around 5.   Tiger sat with me for a good long time and eventually took off again around 9.   Sky popped up now and then. I had a great session with Debra...

Following through

I was just sitting here feeling aggravated with myself that once again I gave up on something that seemed hard.   I don’t know if you noticed but the pictures I referred to probably never showed up in the last post.   That’s because I had to save them to the hard drive or files on the computer or I saved them to google pictures so that I could add them to the blogs editing.   The whole drag and drop thing was not working for me.    I know I have done it before but today it’s not clicking. Then I remembered the other day when I had trouble accessing my primary doctor’s website and the whole password reset thing I did like several times.   It was frustrating.   The whole Instacart thing blows my mind at how many times I had to go back and see what I was doing wrong (aside from living in the wrong locale).   I don’t think its worth looking for another shop.   I thought the ones listed were unknown to me but they are I don’t plan on buying ...

Day 40 of the Quarantine

As of today it is 40 days since the Governor closed the state.     The stay safe stay home rulings are extended until May 20.   Facemasks are to be worn in public when the safe distancing is unattainable.   Gloves don’t have to be worn in certain places.   At least that’s the last I heard from Channel 61. Fox TV related. The stay safe stay at home and all the guidance’s and executive orders will remain in place until May 20 th .   The Governor has daily updates and the most recent was yesterday .   He was talking about what really was closed and not closed.     Their plans on how they were going to open eventually.   The video is almost an hour long. The University is planning on getting all of their staff to back to work by June 1.   That means we will be home until the end of May.   I can only imagine what DG and I will be faced with the day we go back.   I will probably split what’s ever on the desk between the tw...

Busy Morning

I went and got my INR levels checked at the hematologist and also apologized to the nurse for the way I behaved yesterday.   I admitted I have a short temper and she accepted it and says she understood as its an uncertain time right now.    I am also mad at myself because I didn’t update my Pharmacy information.   She said would send it to them soon.   She also urged me to always ask for clarification or can call them to ask.   The next time I go is Tuesday unless I hear from the nurse. After that I went to the store and got some things.   I ran into JoanS.   WE chatted and talked about the May 1 st Challenge.   I told her I would only walk around the neighborhood and not the entire coastline that she has planned.   I just realized it’s a week away. I was able to get everything on the list and a little extra.   Aside from that chat with Joan it didn’t take long.   I wasn’t able to get as many frozen vegetables as I wou...

Thankful Thursday

1.             I am thankful for family warts and all.   They all continue to practice social distancing.   2.             I am thankful for my Kitties. 3.             I am thankful for my job.   The return date has been pushed back to June 1 st as I mentioned in my “lovely” post. 4.             I am thankful for the medical profession that keeps me on the road to good/better health.   I had to go for a INR check again as my levels not therapeutic yet.   I did find out that incident with the pharmacy my doing…didn’t tell them the change.   HEADSLAP. 5.             I am thankful for my home.    Grateful the cleaning lady came and did an awesome job. 6.   ...

Lovely

We Got email today from Human Resources extending the work from home deadline to June 1, 2020.   I will have to find many things to do in that time.   I haven’t started the ones I wanted to do yet. I received a call from the Hematologist and the INR number went down further.   So I have to stop the shot and take a 1 ½ Tabs tonight.   I lost my temper because she acted as though he told me to stop the shots.   There has got to be better communication because he didn’t say that I had to stop this week.    I thought he said eventually.     I can’t have salads for now until the INR level is a therapeutic level. I ordered wings for tonight and they came at 5 so I knew they would need to be reheated so I put them in the micro and reheated s the time for the coffee talk approached.   While I waited I took care of the garbage. I was the second person to arrive in the chat.   G was getting ready and as everyone arrived some had...

Mid Week Reflection

It’s that time of the week again.   It’s now been eight since I have been out of the hospital.   I have been taking the meds for this religiously.   The last day of the antibiotic was last night but there is like seven still left.   There were thirty in the bottle.   Still have to take the warfarin and the shots for the blood thinner.   I had some follow-up appointments that went well.   I have to probably keep getting my INR level check until this change.   I have had a great home healthcare nurse stop by a few times already but expect to be discharged next week. The quarantine is still going on and the state is making plans to open slowly by May 20.   They just made a deal with Quest Diagnostics to produce more tests to provide to the public.   The Death toll has risen but I don’t know the amount.   The number of confirmed cases seems to be slowing down. Residents have been ordered to wear masks and gloves out in public ...

Good Appointments

Well despite a very frustrating time logging on to the site yesterday morning I managed to see the doctor via phone video.   I was so mad.   I told him I was frustrated with the portal.   He explained this was being used for 20 years now and that any other one would be expensive as they want to maintain autonomy/independence.   Late this afternoon I reset the password and fixed in my list of saved passwords so now it should be okay but I was ripped. He seemed satisfied at the progress of the cellulitis but noticed some stuff that still needed to be done under general healthcare.   He says that once this quarantine is over we will schedule the physical and such.   In the meantime he has access to YNHH health system and see the tests and blood work that I have had done. The hematology visit was quick and as I expected just blood labs.   My next visit is on Tuesday morning.   By the time I got to that visit the rain started.    AS...

Really don't want to go out this afternoon.

I am not really looking forward to going to the Hematologist this afternoon.   I have a couple of reasons.   One is I have get INR level checked I am sure.   The other is the weather is going to be crappy.   I am sure that the dosage for warfarin is going up and I will be a pin cushion.   The bruise from the last time I had blood taken hasn’t gone away from my left arm.   The weather really isn’t going to get crappy until later tonight with thunderstorms and possible hail of course that’s okay as I am not going anywhere tonight and of course if there isn’t anything on TV I will go to bed early. My grocery list is getting a little longer now.   I am trying to decide if I should go this afternoon after my appointment or should I wait a couple of days.   I still have enough beef and fish, and pork for the meals and I barely make salads but I have to start using the lettuce part.   Actually the small grape tomatoes are starting to look li...

Where did the afternoon?

First Cleaning lady came when she said she would.   We spent a short time catching up about the corona virus, our families, health in general.   She didn’t really want to wear her mask in the house as it fogged up her classes and I told her it was fine.   Considering we both know we don’t have it. After we got caught up I received a phone call from the home health nurse. Nurse Debbie called to let me know that she wasn’t feeling well and that she would not be coming but that they would send someone else or maybe meet later in the week.   She did say that it will be large probability that I will be released from their care by next week. Nurse Emma called a short time later to let me know that she would be stopping by around 1.   She had to see someone before me and would let me know if she would be coming earlier or not.   So she got here around 1 and we talked about medication, and my concerns regarding how early or late I should be taking them. ...
