Some changes at work

 Last week we learned that two of our Senior Leadership people have departed. They are COO and CAO.  One we barely saw if at all through monthly meetings and the CAO came in almost weekly.  We have been assured that’s the only change going on.  I had learned at the committee meeting on Wednesday, but various departments found out the week before.  By the time the week ended everyone knew.

The union is pushing the Local 33 action that’s happening this thursday.  I contacted my people at least twice (I am not going to take them by the hand and lead them there)..  The weekly SP committee was canceled because EV has a meeting with DR. McGovern.  I look forward to meeting her in person.

Tania finished working on the refunds that she was asked to work on and she finished the mail that arrived today and I finished most of Fridays.  I just have to scan stuff out and then I can work on the CD upload.

Yes I said CD upload.  Mustafa is out this week until tomorrow and his boss asked me to do them.  OF course GA asked me about (she thought she did something wrong and I explained to her that I was doing them because the boss asked me too. She said is it priority and I told her I arranged to do it in the afternoon after the mail is done.

AC came back this week.  She has been trying to catch up with things.  I am wondering when she is going to train TD on scanning.  I am just wondering but I realize it's not my job.  AC is planning on training TD on scanning as soon as she is given access to the necessary equipment.

On Thursday the 12th Guardian ANgel became Gargoyle. She was preparing for a huge meeting for finance and she was trying to help us.  Somehow (and I swear all I said was she is stressed out) she believed I was badmouthing her.  The others have said don’t worry about it.

Supervisor had to send me an email asking me not to wave at people while they are in Zoom.  Everyone saw me.  I have no idea what got into me.  He was forgiving, that's for sure.  He asked me if I would be needing help from Tania and I told him no.  She is trying to do a lot with refunds.

Dear Friends:

    Well Happy Valentine’s Day everyone I hope you get to share it with the one you love.  The atmosphere around the house is still fairly cool even though I did apologize once again.  Of course Mom isn’t going to take responsibility for her side of it and that still annoys me.   I should know that she never will but that shouldn’t be the legacy to leave behind for her family.

    Today was a really warm day it got into the low 40’s by mid afternoon.  It melted a lot of the snow and made for better walking conditions.  IT was starting to melt when I left the house this morning.  It is supposed to drop to mid 20’s tonight and we are supposed to get more snow tomorrow.  If that’s the case then I have to cancel the hair appointment.

Work went well I got a lot done by 3 and worked on some of the re-address mail as well.   Even though I worked on it the pile is starting to get bigger.  I have to work on it on Monday.

We got a Thank you email from the COO this morning for coming in yesterday.  There was no major disruption from the clinics to the offices (well almost none).  The last time there was a storm I missed out on pizza.  We didn’t get anything this time.  I really don’t need pizza.

Tonight is the first night in a few nights that I am not in serious pain. Last night after I had some meds and stuff I was very stiff and in pain.  I couldn’t move my hands very well until mid morning (and I did have tylenol).  I had some more a little while ago and I took the plaquenil so I hope it won’t be the same way.

I have one more load of laundry to do before the weekend starts and when Mom goes to bed (and I am guessing that will be soon) I will get it done.  I don’t want to be spending the weekend doing the laundry.

I also am going to do my annual clearing out the mailbox.  I really have to do the at&T box too but I don’t save any of those.  I really should but I don’t.  Most of them are the same things I get in the outlook.

Dear Friends

Dear Friends:

It is a cold and cloudy morning and it is supposed to get worse as the day goes on.  Rain is expected mid to late day and it is supposed to be heavy.  I am prepared to take home the boots that have been here since last winter.  (ewww).

I got up around 5 and started picking up stuff and straightening up and making the bed this morning before getting ready for work.  Olivia was supposed to come around 8 this morning.  She apparently did change the sheets on my bed.  I am not really happy with that because they were just changed Sunday and they were the fleece for warmth.  Oh Well its cleaned that’s all that’s important.

Work was busy had lots of lockbox still have to finish opening it tomorrow.  The second wind and the final round were light.  I managed to get it delivered late this afternoon.  I had the opportunity to serenade two people for their birthdays today.  The first one was to Susan and a belated one to Kent in Collections.  They were pleased.    I usually do pretty good with those despite my singing ability lacking.

There were some discussions regarding the events of yesterday most of them I was involved with.  I was saying I hope they find who ever perpetrated this hoax and charge him with Domestic Terrorism and we should hang em.

I had my session with Debra today.  It had dawned on me while walking to her office I had not thought of calling to see if she was okay yesterday.  Her office is right next to the Starbucks that was closed  and the staff in the cellar.  WE managed to talk about the past week and she was pleased I had a good week.  

We did touch on the subject of when Mom passes.  It is something I have been thinking of quite a lot lately and since the last time we had the conversation.  I know this a bit premature but for me its important.  Anyway she will be around for the funeral service but in the background.  She wants me to be able to grieve and if it gets to be overwhelming she will just give me a sign or something to help me through.  

After the session I came back to the office and picked up my lunch I had ordered earlier this morning.  It was steak quesadilla.   It was large and delicious.  I had offered some to Mama Joanie but she declined.    She wasn’t feeling all that great and she was anxious for the day to pass so that she could go home.   

For the first time in a long time I had kept the girls waiting.  Actually Mary wasn’t ready yet  but I was having a hard time putting those damn boots on.  I have a feeling I am going to have to get another pair again.  It was raining when we left.  We chatted for a very short time and when we got to the cars and then we went our separate ways.

The ride home was long.  There seemed to be a lot of traffic leaving the city and getting on the highways.  I didn’t get home until after 5.  Mom was munching on some fruit when I got in.

I expected to see her in her pajamas already after our conversation this afternoon.  She had just gotten in from shopping and was about to take a nap.  Yes I said a nap.  She hadn’t slept well last night.    I remember a few holidays in recent years she had some bug and ended up staying in bed.  I think i had to go to either of my siblings house on my own.  She is making more pie crusts as i write this.    I don’t know what else she is doing but I did check to see if she wanted or needed anything and she said no.

I haven’t done much except watch TV and napped.  I am actually going to crash again as I am tired still.    Even though I tried to get to bed early I was still up fairly late.  

Tomorrow I expect to be very busy I have to pick up the paychecks from the mailroom and finish the mail.  I have to call to see when they will be ready.  A number of people are urging me to get a ride over because the weather is supposed to be bad.  I don’t think its necessary.

Liz called tonight.  it would seem she has the flu and bronchitis again.  She may or may not be able to come for Thursday.  She seemed okay when I spoke to her yesterday but she is susceptible to these quite easily.    I think MOm is a little disappointed but  she is also worried about it.

Okay well I think i will crash.  If you are traveling tomorrow safe journey’s and have a great Holiday if I don’t see you on Thursday I will be around Friday throughout the day.  Still not sure what we have planned for the family for the weekend.  All I know is James may have to be back at school by Sunday afternoon sometime.

Frustration

I try very hard to do my job.  That does include getting the ever-loving and ever constant junk mail delivered.  Unfortunately when I have limited number of inter-office envelopes it makes it hard.  I have gone to the TRS site to order them but I have to fill out this stupid requisition list and when I ask ML to help she doesn’t know how.  Mind you she is the top administrative Assistant to the EX-Director of YMG.  She has also told me its not my job to order them.  Then whose job is it?  She keeps telling me that there are plenty all over the floor go check with them.  I have and there are very little to none.

Later on in the day a co-worker came to me and said I had taken the last of her interoffice envelopes and I let her know I didn’t.  She then asked if she could take some more.  I think I had just freaking told her “I am running low” or I don’t have any.  By the second time I said it my voice was raised and she looked at me and said don’t yell at me and told me I was unprofessional!!! I tried to make it up to her and quite frankly she can drop off the planet.  She was sullen for the next hour.  First off she isn’t my boss in any capacity.  You want to talk about unprofessional?  How about assuming I took the envelopes and then expect me to give her some when I clearly said I don’t have many.

Iamthisclose to going to Staples and buy a box for myself.  When I said that to Judy she immediately emailed Susan and asked her to order some.  Whether or not it was successful is questionable.

For the last couple of days Judy has been sending out a barrage of emails that some find rather insulting and anal.  I don’t know for sure but our team may be the only ones getting “reminders” that we need to call if we are going to be late, use our time if we are late, we need to be aware of our breaks too.  If I am not mistaken when we can eat and what we can eat at our desks.  I am not sure if and how long that will last.

Tomorrow morning I have my Epic Training class.  It will be from 8-1 pm and it will be downstairs.  I am not sure what to expect but from what I heard of the others for the other facets they need it for it’s a little scary.  I am probably going to go to bed early tonight so I am up early enough to get there.  It’s in the same building.

I was able to get back into the scanning world at work today.  It was for an hour but I was glad to be doing it.  I just had to remember some things band by the time I was finished it was all coming back to me.

I got a call today from the Milford Chamber of commerce today.  They wanted to know if I would be attending the student Mini-Grant interviews tomorrow afternoon.  I sent a text message to Telka to let her know about the phone calls and that I wouldn’t be able to go.  I actually forgot about them as well.  I figured someone would be there.  If Telka tried to respond I didn’t get it because my phone is on my desk.  I did send her an email when I got home but no response yet.

The weather here was soooo cold.  I didn’t go out unless I was going home.   I was dressed warm both times but it still didn’t help.  The reports on the TV say the temps will be colder tonight and tomorrow.  The storm they had predicted for Daytime Friday has now moved to Friday night into Saturday.  I do have to admit the winter sky was beautiful.  The sun was setting but one of the clouds reminded me of that ribbon in Star Trek: Generations movie.

When I got home I put the garbage out front for pick up tomorrow.  Happily it wasn’t recycle day either. The bin for that is rather awkward.  If the link worked ours is like the second from the left but green.  After dinner I put the rest out.

Mom was upstairs on her computer when I got home.  She still is not feeling that great.  She has been having bouts of nausea and its been frequent this week.  I suggested she see the doctor and she said if it gets worse (she has been to the doctors for check ups lately) she would go.

We had spaghetti for dinner tonight.  It was delicious but I am finding myself still hungry.  I ate a lot too.  I am going to see if there is any Lemon Meringue pie left.

Been here an hour

I have been here at work an hour already and haven’t gotten much done.  The scanner I usually use I can’t remember the password (its supposed to be my password but its not).   So I have to use Mama Joanie’s.  It certainly was easier to log on.

Funny I got up by 6 and got online and then got ready for work.  I managed to leave before 7:30 and get here by 10 of 8.  I don’t know why I find that funny.  I guess each day is different.  Depending on traffic and perception I guess.

Mom was just getting up when I was leaving.  She is planning on spending the day doing paperwork for the boards she is on and also more personal budget work as well.  She saw the doctor yesterday and she got a good report about the pancreas.  It is stable.

It is now mid morning.  I have made a few trips to the ladies room and to the vending machine to find something to wake me up.  I chose Coke and Fanta.  I have done about 14 batches so far and some have small number of pages while only one had over a 100 pages.

This past thursday the students from Sandy Hook Elementary were welcomed at their new yet temporary school from town and elementary school in Monroe Connecticut.  They also got a visit from Former Congresswoman Gabrielle  Gifford from AZ.  Well the families who lost relatives.  According to the reports she didn’t give a speech but just hugged the families.  Governor Malloy and the State legislatures will be looking to revise the current gun laws on the books.  

I have also some of the travel blogs on in the background I would like at least one day write about my Canadian trip to Niagara Falls.  I always get side tracked. Maybe one day when all the other stuff is done I will sit down and write it up.

I called Dave this morning but I had to leave a message.  I want to give him his gift from Christmas.  I didn’t have it with me the day of his party and I was rather embarrassed.  I am not sure what he is doing this weekend.

Noon time rolled around and I checked in with Mom.  She was doing board work as I expected but she didn't feel as though she was getting a lot done.  I didn’t stay on the phone long.

I also called Sis she had been housecleaning and was tired.  She also started swimming every day so that takes a lot out these days.  She also told me that a high school chum passed away a couple of days ago.  She was diagnosed a long time ago with Lupus before it was as well known today.  

Tomorrow is Baby Lucas’s Christening. Obviously we haven’t been invited and that’s okay too.  I have financial obligations that need to come first.

It is now quarter of four and I have been home an hour already.  I stopped and talked with one of my former supervisors and current friend.  We were talking a long time and we were talking about where her son lives and I made an offhand comment about safety in and around where she lives.  SHe was offended by the remark..  I apologized and left it at that.

The next 45 minutes I worked on the scanning.  i ended up scanning like 40 batches.  I cleaned up Mama Joanie’s desk and headed out the door and then too the garage and headed home..  

The ride home was uneventful.  I got home just about 2:30 and chatted with Neighbor Don and Princess Lilly.  We talked about the games they like to play and the wood cutting project ahead of him.  He also saw the damaged bumper.  He says its cosmetic.  I have yet to call the garage.

WHen I came in I found a notice from the Insurance company.  When I came upstairs with it in my hand Mom insisted I open it.  I had told her what it was.  It was exactly what I thought it was.   I get it every time I make a payment.  I have yet to get the actual cancellation notice from them anyways.

It’s after 5:30 now.  Mom had gone to the store and to church.  I had my lunch and vegged out in front of the TV and spent time on the computer.  I also called Roberta.  We talked about the email and the woman who has decided to step back from the woman’s club along with her daughter.  Teh woman claims its because of scheduling conflicts I think it was because her son was yelled at by PJ for taking pictures..  Her excuses were lame.  We also talked about club history with problem members.  
Mom is now looking up recipes and figuring out what we are having for dinner.  I am not exactly hungry as I had an open faced cheese sandwich and some cake..  

I haven’t touched my “to do list” and I have some more files to update and emails to go through but I just don’t feel like it..  Ah well that’s life.  I will try to pop in before going to bed. in a few hours.

Good News

I am here doing Scanning OT and the three of us had an opportunity to speak to GayleC and she is home from being in the hospital/infirmary.  She sounded stronger and happier.  She hadn’t been home in over a month.  Gayle and I spoke late last week as well and went over the same stuff we talked about then too.  There is a strong possibility that she will be attending our team party next week. (:0)

Happily I got the daily stuff done.  I just started on the postage tallies for today but need to finish it tomorrow.  Then I can work on the readdress mail until lockbox comes.  I am thinking it will be heavy.  

Jim emailed me this afternoon his wish list.  Gift Cards to Amazon, LL Bean, and of course Wegman’s.  He is coming here for Christmas so I can keep his here until then but I have got to get the kids theirs before they go to Colorado.

The more I hear about Geoff Fox’s behavior the more I wonder (along with many other I have spoken to) if this was the real reason he was fired from WTNH all those months ago.  Whatever the reasons for it.  He is going to have to make some serious changes in his life

There is one batch I am working on that is taking an awful long time.  I won’t be getting many batches done tonight because it is already 5:30.   The batch has 130 pages to it.    I was able to do 9 batches and a total of 400 pages altogether.
