I am wondering

It is after 2 in the morning and I am sitting here because I couldn’t sleep.  I think I Had one of those pericardial events in my shoulder again.  It hurt like the dickens.  I couldn’t get comfortable and I put a heating pad on and I took some Tylenol a little while ago.  It feels better but that’s because I am sitting up as opposed to lying down on the pillows.  I am going to try and get back to sleep because I will be getting up in about 3 or 4 hours.

I also had a panic moment when I came down to check on the cats.  Tiger was sleeping now she is preening herself but for fair amount of time I couldn’t find Sky.  I looked in his normal places.  I even thought he was under the bed.  He wasn’t.  I came down again and found him on a tote filled with Towels.  I walked by him at least once before I saw him on that. I picked him up and hugged him and put him back.  I think he may have travelled again.  The noises in the house have magnified tenfold lately.

I think I will take some more Sleepy time or warm milk and try to go back to sleep.  I have a feeling today will be a day of catching up.  I am expecting to be working with the readdress mail….

Well now its several hours later and I managed to get back to sleep.  The pain subsided long enough for me to get sleep. It is fine now but if I have the pork again it will probably hurt.

The weather is lovely it was in the sixties by lunch time and sunny.   The fog lifted mid-morning.  I wasn’t able to enjoy it until I left for the weekend.  It was nearly 70 by then.  Of course sunset was at quarter of five so I didn’t get to enjoy it for long.

My day consisted of scanning.  EOB scanning, refund scanning, and a little of non-work related things I wanted to get done.  There were some mail issues people looking for stuff.  The web cams for coworkers arrived and will be distributed next week.  Some other people are looking for meeting supplies.  I don’t remember seeing hose but I will look on Monday.

I am very happy to tell you the parking lot that has been the source of repairs will be reopened come Monday morning.  Yeah, the parking lot towards the back is definitely challenging.  The front is more spacious.

We also got a corvid 19 alerts on campus today.  The alert status went from Yellow to orange as 20 students in the residential colleges have tested positive for the Virus.  This comes as the State has returned to Phase 2 level of re-opening.  All of this makes me nervous and anxious as I am supposed to go to see Jim at the end of the month.

When I got home it was nearly quarter of five.  I may have mentioned that Waze had me go a different route then I usually do.  This time he had me go to Munson all the way to Martin Luther King Blvd. to Ella Grasso Blvd an then side roads to the highway in West Haven.  Of course the sun was still a blinding mass for me.  I did get to see a small herd of deer on the side of the highway.  They were grazing not dead.

When I did get home I fed the cats, made dinner for me, finished the laundry, emptied the dishwasher and actually swept the floors with the Swiffer dry mop.  I will still have to vacuum and do the floors tomorrow.  I am tired now.  I was surprised I still fell asleep despite the fact I had coffee.

The votes are still being counted as of right now and in my mind Mr. Biden is clearly in the lead but it are a tight race.  I hope we get the final result tomorrow.  This is killing me now.  My wish is that Mr. Trump do the right thing and concede to defeat, congratulate Mr. Biden on his win and go back to NJ or wherever and live out the rest of his life in obscurity.  Of course, we all know that’s not going to happen.

Dear Friends

November 6, 2013

Dear Friends:

What a busy couple of days.  My day started  yesterday at 5:30 and i managed to get up and get ready for work and do my civic duty all before 7 am.  It was chilly but I managed to greet my friends standing at the polls and get in and vote.  I was back on the road by 7:10 and had no trouble getting into the city.  I even got to see a doe.  It caught my eye at an unexpected place.

Throughout the day I was busy working and didn’t feel any aches and pains and if I started to I managed to take some tylenol.  After work i headed back to Milford stopped at Dunkin and got coffee and then headed to the polling place.

On the way there two emergency vehicles were swinging on to a street that I was passing. I would later find out there was a house fire and a fatality.  I recognize the last name from somewhere but this was sad.  My companions could smell the smoke and hear the sirens.

I spent the next 2 and hours out there with the candidates and volunteers.  M&T stopped by with munchies (stuff from Scratch Bakery and hot choc from the new yogurt place in town.)  As the pace of the night slowed down i headed to the HQ while Phil and Earl and Seny collected all the signs.

I took the route that took me past the cemetery where most of my family is buried.  I said hello to Bob and Dad and all of a sudden I began to cry.  It wasn’t for long and I don’t know why. I have to say the route I took seemed pretty long and I could have probably taken the highway but I didn’t.

I found Mom sitting in a chair against the wall near the food (naturally) she was trying to see the screen where the numbers would eventually be posted.  We chatted and talked and more and more people came to see her and say hello.  We had some ziti (there were a lot of things there that I just didn’t want to have)  Eventually more and more people filled the room.  it got louder and louder.  The results were in before 9.  Speeches were made and we started to leave.

Every time we would get closer to the exit I would turn around and Mom would be amongst the crowds.  After the third time I was exasperated.  We finally got out of there and we were home by 9:30..

Today was a long and busy day.  Lots of work and got it done by the time I left for home.  I stopped at the home of the woman who is altering the jackets.  She is a lovely woman who has had a lot of health issues and a beautiful home with her husband and two 6 month old kittens.

We had to have a late dinner as the artist who built the clock was coming over and hanging it up for us.  It is  next to the window by the driveway and its beautiful.  The couple was lovely (and the woman knows Mom from Bridges).

I am getting tired and achy so I am going to head to bed...see you later.

Dear Friends

November 3, 2013

Dear Friends:

Good Sunday  to you.    Did you set your clocks back?  Did you get that extra hour of sleep?  I still woke up my normal time and I thought it was daylight when it hit 7.

I didn’t do  very much except moving those damn emails around and into the various folders I have.   I watched TV and then got ready for bingo.  Mom was reading the paper when I got downstairs.  She told me she found it chilly this morning and she wasn’t kidding.

I stopped at the D&D and got breakfast and then headed to the nursing home where I found Angela serving coffee to some of the residents.  She was kind enough to by me a muffin that I graciously accepted.  Around 10 I started setting up for bingo.  I ended up with 14 players today and it went really well.  Despite some bickering between Dorothy and Leah and Julia.  Spears were shooting from Dorothy’s eyes towards Julia.  I have come to the conclusion the next time Dorothy comes in (usually late) I am going to sit her by herself.

I got to church late this week and sat with an old friend of mine.  She and her daughter were part of the girls club and they helped me with bingo a long time ago.  We chatted with each other after church as well.  I do have to say this  week’s homily was indeed powerful.  IN reference to all Souls Day and All Saints Day .

After church I came home and found Mom just sitting in her office chair.  She had been changing the clocks in the kitchen when one of them fell into the sink.  She was trying to repair it.  She told me that Ethel was coming back to plant some of flowers that have been sitting on our porch.  They came back around 2.

Ethel’s new “boarder” is a lovely traveling nurse working out of Saint Raphael’s Hospital in new Haven.   She is originally from Kentucky./Ohio.  Her family is back there and she literally just lost her Jack Russell Terrier.  She will be joining us for Thanksgiving Dinner in a couple of weeks.

I went to the cleaners but they were closed so I will have to drop it off tomorrow after work.   Mom and I agreed that if it isn’t done by next week that I can wear the sweater and pants I bought at Dress barn for the breakfast.  Which is what my original intention was anyway.

I finally got my laundry started and I have a feeling I will be up all night getting it done.  I think I started it around 2 or three.  I really didn’t want to be up late but I have no choice.  I am not  going around without clothes.

Mom went to do more grocery shopping.  We don’t have any of her ice cream that she likes and she has a few more things to get anyway.  She wasn’t sure of what to have for our dinner but I saw a chicken pot pie from Trader Joe’s in the freezer so that’s what I am going to have.

It looks like I will be greeting voters at the polls on Tuesday.  I was contacted by  John M who has been in charge of the HQ this election season and he was seeking volunteers and we agreed that I could work  from quarter of five to 8 pm.  Now granted my legs may give me grief but I haven’t really done a whole lot for the election campaign.   Not nearly enough as others have done.   I talked it over with Mom about getting to and from the HQ.  She said she will get a ride from Mike & Tessa.

The weather was absolutely beautiful.  It was sunny and the highest temperature was 53 degrees.  Now that the sun is setting its back in the high 40’s and is supposed to drop to the high 20’s and there is a freeze warning for the area.

Okay its time to check the laundry.  I will check in later…

Me thinks I should go to bed early

I have been home an hour and half now and I am more tired than I was when I arrived at Debra’s office. The noise level at first was so blaring and annoying that I had to turn down the radio. Besides that Mom couldn’t hear me which in of itself is annoying. I ended up stuttering. She kept pushing me to say what I wanted. That to me is no help. I told her to give me a moment.

We had our dinner. I had the left over lamb shank stew and she had eggs. We talked about Election Day tomorrow. I told her I was going to vote when I got home from work tomorrow because I would end up missing the bus if I went early in the morning. I asked if she wanted to go to the headquarters or if she had planned on t and she said yes. I told her I would take her once I finished voting. She says she has to go to a meeting and a wake. She will see what the day unfolds.

The wake is of an old family friend (Tim W) that knew my Dad while both were in the program and was a friend of Jim’s. Apparently he was very sick. The wake is at 4 so I can see Mom going around then if it doesn’t conflict with her meeting.

Well I can’t say I was surprised by the final outcome in the Conrad Murray Trial. Now hopefully this will let the family and Michael rest in Peace.

Cold Friday

Its after 10 am on Friday morning and I got here alittle after 8. It is still raining and I suspect it will be until lunch time. One of the scanners (the newbie/probie) is having problems with her machine and has come to Joanie for help and Joanie can’t help her. Annette, Gayle and the IT guy isn’t here yet.

According to the news reports Susan Bysiewicz is supposed to make the final (I hope) ballot count in Bridgeport. Unfortunately I have heard some really bad stories about DM from a woman whose family has worked for him personally. I hope we as a party and as a state won’t be sorry for this.
Gayle came in around 10:30 and the Jack from GoFor came by quarter of. I was still working on yesterday’s mail as well as surfing for a bit. Not something that’s good to do but if I think I am getting too much I will stop after lunch and correct it.
Is there a machine that you work with that makes you crazy? I have this mail opener that is industrial size and it doesn’t always open the envelopes. It’s a pain in my ass.
I sent an edible arrangement to Jim for his birthday today. The lady Nicole was very helpful. I hope he likes it. It cost like $75 (including the price of it, the balloon, and delivery and sales tax)
I talked with Mom this morning we are having connectivity issues again. I suggested to her the tower/router may be dying it. She sadi the all three lights are on. I also said we have had the dsl for nearly 4 years. She said she would call for Service. I am doubtful she will get anywhere. She also complemented on me for doing so well with finances. We were talking about changing banks and using ATM’s and how responsible I have been and that when I paid the $10 k bill I had and I did it while still paying shared expenses (she had doubted that part-something she always does). She checked and she was wrong.
The rest of the afternoon enabled me to catch up on some stuff. I was able to work on the ever present readdress mail. I wasn’t planning on staying for OT tonight as I want to be ready for the Auction tonight.
Rich (DTC chairman) asked for help with getting the HQ cleaned up as well as picking up signs from around the city. I don’t think I can I want to work tomorrow.
The jury for the Cheshire Home invasion is in the middle of Deliberation on the future of the Hayes man. This is dragging and the newspaper isn’t helping by posting every ten minutes or so.
Okay I better get going I want to finish this stuff soon so I will check in later before going to the Auction and perhaps afterwards.

Election Day 2010

I just finished writing and posting yesterday’s entry on the web and now I am trying to get to sleep so I can be ready for one of the most important mid-term elections. Today we will be voting on a new Governor, LT Governor, State Representatives and State Legislators as well as Federal Legislators that will go on to Federal offices and represent us in Congress and the House. I hope to get to the polls by 7 this morning so that I can be at work fairly early to get the rest of my work day completed.

After work I will be splitting my time between to polling locations. The first one will be at the West Shore Recreation Center on Benham Avenue. Then from 6 to 8 I will be at Harborside School standing for Beverly Streit-Kafalas. I asked Mom if she wouldn’t mind if I didn’t go to Headquarters after the polls close and she said she is fine with it. She also suggested and urged me not to over do it while standing at the polls. If I get tired or get cold I should come home and rest.

All the TV spots should end by tonight. They were continuous and it made for a long campaign season. Almost every TV station owner got their five minute OP Ed’s and encouraged the viewers to make sure and vote. They explained the reasons for elections and what could happen if we don’t.

I asked Mom how she felt about the pending elections and she couldn’t really give me an answer. I guess she is like the rest of us hopeful that the candidates we have supported and will continue to support will be elected. She is hopeful as I am I guess that all the democrats running for office across the country get in.

Okay well I am still not sleepy and I need to look through one of the mailboxes I was unable to open in the last couple of days and get rid of some of the emails.

Most of them are from the journaling lists. The discussions are still the art journals. There is someone asking for prayers for a situation that involves abuse. I am going to try and get as many of the prompts I know are there to save them for the journal folders.

I saw frost this morning

As I made my way to the car this morning I found it covered in frost. It didn’t take long for it to defrost and by the time I was on the highway it was completely gone. The sun rise made for some a difficult ride. Happily nothing happened. I made it to the office on time. Most of the day was very cold. I know this because most everyone who went out told me. I found out myself walking to Debra’s office.

Today a number of people seemed to be in a bad space. They were not feeling well, they were cranky and overwhelmed. I know I was beginning to find myself overwhelmed when a couple of people asked me about the mail that was there. I knew I had to at least attempt to get it out of the office. I did a little of it before going to Debra’s. I still have to finish the lockbox and the postage tally for today. Claudia promised to have the mail job document for me by tomorrow. I was having problems getting it made myself.

By the time I left for Debra’s my leg/knee was giving me trouble. Not a real lot of trouble it just seemed to be stiff and not as flexible as it is now. I walked slowly and didn’t make any sudden moves. They stayed this way until about 9 when it dawned on me to take the medicine. A short time later it was fine.

WE had a visit from Diane and Rogier. They only stayed for a half hour and we talked about the tour. I was pretty stupid and asked her “what she been doing”. What I meant (and I plan on telling her this in an email) was in between shows. Apparently she is having some minor conflicts with some of the cast members of the show. She was just telling us how she deals with them and why there are some conflicts. Basically different values they both find the others shallow she says. I am not sure what Liz and Nelson would say to that. (I will explain later.)

As you can tell I didn’t write on Halloween. So how was it? Well the day started out very nice. I did bingo in the morning and was still a little queasy from Saturday night. I did bingo and found out that Alice M passed away on Friday. She was one of my regular bingo players who had been ill lately. I half expected to find out that Margaret S had passed but she is still hanging in. She hadn’t come to bingo as she couldn’t see anything. It was good she didn’t because I really didn’t have much help. Angie had her daughter help her with the upstairs activities.

After Bingo was over I made a quick visit to Margaret. I went to church and then to see Liz and Nelson. They were cleaning their house. Among some of the discussions were family activities. They both went into how disappointed in Diane they have become because of the hissy fits she has done amongst the family. Nelson made some comments about how we all accept what she does as being alright. I told them I don’t always think it’s alright and then he realized that if I had said anything that I would be yelled at. He even says that Mom runs my life. Personally I don’t think it’s his place to say it but it was/is his house. They realized that if I do comment I probably would have been spoken to. They did apologize but I said “hey your house your opinion.”

While Liz was outside in the yard the neighborhood kids came around to help when I was leaving they gave me hugs. Liz warned me they are not huggers. I just looked at her and said they hugged me last time. Why she needs to do this is beyond me. I realized today that does the exact thing she accuses me of doing and that’s hanging on to bad feelings. I decided that it was time for me to go home. I wasn’t angry or annoyed but that I had things I wanted to do and watching Liz work in the garden was not one of them.

When I got home I found Mom on her computer working just like Saturday. I started my laundry and worked on the computer. I did some emails and a few hours later Donnie came over to check the computer. We found it had several errors that were self repaired and was able to do the defragmentation. It is now working a lot better. It also has some issues still but I can work on those slowly. I can’t seem to get rid of some emails.

Anyway around 4 or 5 I had dinner while Mom continued her paper work. I also spent time watching TV and checking the defragmentation.

We got our first and last visitors by 7. It was a family of 6 people 4 adults and two children. Mom chatted with them. She was in her pajamas and told me earlier she wasn’t going to be answering the door. At 7:30 I shut the door and turned the light out and went back to working on the computer.

Now I am going to bed as tomorrow will be along day.

Good Night

Primary Day

Well today is going to be a very long day. I am planning on being out of the house this morning by 6 so I can vote in the Democratic Primary then I am going to work until 6 tonight and then from 6:30 until 8 I will be standing at the polls passing out literature. They call it Poll standing. Now many of you will probably say “oh you can give out literature at the polls” I am doing what I am told. I think you can up until a certain point. I will be doing that until the polls close at 8. Then I am heading home to catch any part of NCIS.

The following is an unpaid and probably unsolicited advertisement for politics: I seriously urge you to go and make your voices heard in your local elections if you are in a state with a primary election happening PLEASE do not pass this opportunity up to have your voice heard. I f you do not like the way things are being done be among the voices that can make change.

Yesterday was a pretty good day for a Monday. I managed to get the daily stuff done and a little of the readdress mail done. Claudia returned to work after her losing her Mom last week. She seemed to be doing very well. Howard was supposed to return but didn’t hopefully he will be back tomorrow.

I met with Debra and got her caught up with my life and how things are going. She looked well rested I think. We meet again next week. I will probably tell her I didn’t do anything for the trip Dave and I are supposed to be going on.

When I got home tonight I found that the rugs have been taken up from the Stairwell up to the bathroom door. There is a section of the floor that buckled and needs to be replaced. The next step is to make repairs necessary and the prepping for the staining and or painting of the wood floors. It is really weird how much of an echo there is in the house now without the rugs down. I think its going to be perfect.

We had dinner a few minutes after I arrived home and it was beef tips with rice and peas. They are my favorite. Yesterday must have been rice day for me as well because I had Shrimp Tacos with rice. It was very good.

We relaxed before going to the meeting at headquarters about the poll standing and number taking for today’s primary. The entire thing took about 45 minutes. Tessa my dear friend was named CT Democrat Woman of the Year by State Central. State Central is the Executive Board of the State Democratic Party that governs all the local Town Committees. At least I think it is….I may have to ask about that.

I tried to go to bed before 11 but it didn’t happen. I was busy updating my facebook friends list. Many of the new additions to my friends list are classmates from Live Oaks, and Foran. One of my edicts when I started on Facebook was if I don’t talk with you on a regular basis then I am not going to connect with you. That went out the window this past week. I connected with former neighbors, and classmates. I probably will have more by tonight.

I tried to catch up on my emails. In the journaling lists I replied to the weekly check in posts, and “what did you have for dinner” emails and the “how was your weekend” emails. I also saved them for the journal folders as well.

Well I have a few things do to before going off for the day so I will say G’ Day to you and remember “Rock the Vote”.

A lot has happened

Monday November 2: I got up bright an early and got ready for work and got the car over to the garage all by 7. Happily it was someone else there instead of the guy from yesterday. I explained to the guy what happened and I think he understood. The only thing is the thermostat didn’t do anything on the way over. He said he would have Frank call me. The car was fixed later that day.

Election Day 2009: Was a royal disappointment for us in Milford. The Republican incumbent for mayor retained his job and a number of our candidates lost their seats and some never made it. It was a sad day indeed.

Work has been overall stressful. I had been doing OT trying to get the office back into shape. Last Saturday both Gayle and I worked on it and now it is beautiful. More tasks have been added (collection letters) and after a few days Gayle doesn’t want to have any of us (me especially) do it. Considering we have so much filing and scanning to be done. There have been a lot of budget concerns all over the place. So the management staff has been pulled every which way. When I finish the mail which has been daily I have been helping out with the scanning. Going in on Saturdays etc and staying until 6 most nights unless I have appointments.

The new Kronos/My Time payroll system went into effect this week. I did pretty well with it so far despite the no training. I never had the time to go to the classes. They were always held outside of the office in another building.

Over the last couple of weeks several co workers and their families have had some form of the flu (both regular and the swine). I hope this passes soon because I sure do not want to bring it home to Mom.

Despite the stress level we have managed to continue to meet our goals that have been set by the Administration as far as AR are concerned. As I said our immediate area has been behind in the scanning.

Nationally it was a sad week when a gunman shot twelve people including himself at Fort Hood in Killeen Texas. The gunman survived and is currently in the hospital recovering. There was a memorial Service held earlier this week that happened shortly after the Election Day. According to the reports the gunman who had been a medic and helping people get ready for deployment was unhappy about going to Iraq as well.

Volunteering is going okay. Bingo remains to be enjoyable for the residents. I was on my own last week as Natalie was doing a breakfast sandwich fundraiser for their company Christmas party.

The woman’s club’s activities are doing pretty well. Although I was unable to attend the Veteran’s Day service at the nursing home it was most successful. Many of the girls club members participated and the residents who were veterans appreciated it. The next big event is the Pie in the Sky baking which will take place at Hopkins School in New Haven next Saturday. This will be the first time we have done it with another organization so it should be very interesting. This year we are even taking orders for the pies.

The Democratic Party is licking its wounds from the trouncing we received in the municipal election 2 weeks ago. Each district will be discussing what happened in their perspective district meetings. Ours will take place on the 18th at our home. Our next big goal will be the Governors Race in 2010. As it is our current Governor Jodi Rell has opted to not run for reelection.

Mom is doing pretty well. Her cough/cold has subsided after another antibiotic was given to her. She has been doing her meetings, reports, and getting ready for the Thanksgiving holiday already.

Bob and Ethel are keeping busy with their schedules and I just found out they will be joining us for the Thanksgiving dinner. The children will be all over the place. Diane is currently in the Carolinas on the South Pacific National Tour. John is preparing for Special Forces. I keep in touch with him via Facebook. I also keep tabs on their brother Rob through facebook as well. He doesn’t post to that very often either.

Jim and the kids will be here for Thanksgiving as well. They will be here the entire weekend and Mom has planned a few activities such as visiting the Knights of Columbus Museum. We have a family connection to it. My Dad’s uncle or Great Uncle or Cousin is one of the Founding Fathers Knights of Columbus . We hope to also go to NYC and go to the Rock and Roll Museum.

Liz and Nelson and their families are doing okay. Liz just got over another bout of Bronchitis. She was with the grandkids on Veteran’s Day and had a ball. They are also getting read for Nelson Jr & Lisa’s wedding next month. It’s actually a month from yesterday. I still have to get a gift and perhaps look at another dress for the wedding.

Tomorrow afternoon I am going to the movies and dinner with my friend Dave. Last week we attended the Yale VS Brown football game. It was different. Yale also lost by 13 points. We had dinner at popular restaurant (Pepe’s) in the Wooster Square section of New Haven. It was fun.

Well that’s about all the news I have for now. I have a few things to do before I have dinner tonight so I will chat with you later.

Jim's Birthday

Today is/was Jim’s 58th Birthday. Unfortunately I haven’t done anything for it. No e-card, no snail mail card, and of course no phone call. I am not sure what I feel but I will send him something maybe tomorrow. I have no idea if Mom did or not. It has been quite a hectic couple of weeks for her and she is concerned and a little bit annoyed with him with his choices. Yes I know it’s his choice but she is a Mom and is worried about him.

Last night was awesome. Before I left work we picked our secret Santa and I got Lucinda G. Unfortunately I have to guess at what she wants because she didn’t write it on the list. We were not supposed to tell anyone but I managed to tell Cami and Liz. They rolled their eyes.

When I left it was shortly before 4 but I managed to get to the polling place before my appointed time and got in and got to vote. I personally didn’t have any problems but I would later find out that there was a fire alarm that morning. There was one while I was there as well. I would later find out that some ballots from Fairfield showed up at our polling place as well. I am not sure how that was cleared up but I am sure it was.

I called Liz around 5 or so and told her about the fire alarm and she told me how it was at her polling place (apparently chaotic). After my stint I went directly to the headquarters.

There weren’t that many people there at first. Technicians setting up the Satellite feed for Cablevision 12 and MZ who was having dinner. I had a sandwich and water. It was only the first of many things I would eat during the night.

As 7 pm approached more and more people came in and then it got crowded. I had some lovely chats with many people. Around 8 the final numbers were starting to come in and then I think by 9 the victory speeches were made and of course we found out that President-Elect Obama had won the election.

It was nearly 9:30 when I left. My arms and legs were hurting immensely. I knew I had too much to eat and was glad I was going home. When I came home I turned on the TV and did some channel surfing. I decided to come upstairs and get ready for bed.

I had been dozing when I heard noises. It was after 1 and mom was home. She was getting into her pajamas and was rushing so she wouldn’t burn the tea kettle out in the kitchen. I went back to bed and fell asleep until 5 this morning.

Today was pretty good. Some people talked about the election and I told them about the bizarre occurrences at the polling place. I probably shouldn’t have done that but I really didn’t see anything wrong with it.

Work over all went very well. I finished sorting and delivering yesterday’s mail and then worked on today’s and managed to finish everything on my desk by 2:30. When it was all done I pulled EOB’s with Liz.

It started raining when I left the office. I got home by 4:30 and while Mom cooked dinner I relaxed. We had dinner around 5. It was leftovers and they were delicious. We had to eat quickly because we were needed to help clean up headquarters.

We got there and found that most of the work had already been done by (someone else.) Mike and Tessa had been there and said it was generally already done and they were just getting some of their stuff they contributed/loaned. We were not there long and we were back home by 7:30 I think.

Since we have been home I had emptied the dryer, taken a bath, and watched TV. The Mummy Returns is on FX Network tonight but I am not really feeling that well so I am going to bed.

Election 2007-Milford

Well the polls closed at 8 pm. Kerry didn’t win but she was class act as she spoke at Headquarters tonight. Now Richetelli will have to deal with a democratic majority on the aldermanic board. The Democratic Party won all the boards. Connecticut Bob had a great report and of course you can check out Vote 2007 Connecticut Election Returns also one Milford voter was 109 years old and that was so cool. Mom won her position as Constable with the second highest amount of votes. She was highly surprised and I was just plain proud. I might call Jim and Liz and Bob tomorrow.

The day started for me at 5:45 am. I got up showered, had breakfast of yogurt, made my lunch and watched a little bit of Angel I was dressed and ready to go to the polls by 7. It was raining as expected. A short time later I arrived to the polling place at Foran High. Kerri and her son were just leaving to stand at other polls through out the day. Kerri’s Mom, husband Brian and daughter Emily, and father stayed behind for a bit. I greeted my team mates and gave them all hugs and kisses. Scott Willey tried again to get me to vote for him.

I went in to the gym gave them my name and address and showed them my ID. I was then given those scan ballots that are the new way of voting here in CT. I went to “the booth” and proceeded to fill them out. It wasn’t hard at all. It was strange to see Mom’s name on there. A couple minutes later I was putting in the scan machine and walking out the door.

I saw Barbara G and chatted with her. She told me about her father and I hugged kern and said how sorry I was. After that I left and headed back out. I said goodbye to the gang and headed to work.

It was after 7:30 when I got to the garage. I won’t even tell you how that was. It was pretty much the same story as always. No one wanted to let me in...yada, yada. I walked to the office and took the elevator up with several others.

It was before 8 and started doing various stuff. Even though I got some work done I know I didn’t get everything done. I was tired, agitated (had a little beef with Jocelyn) and anxious for the day to get over with.

I left the office a little before 4 and headed to Debra’s office. The Christmas tree for the green was being decorated I arrived and waited for my session with Debra. I talked with a woman who was waiting for her three 9 year olds.

The session with Debra went by quickly. I told her about the days events (and how Scott was being inappropriate I think). I gave her the letter I meant to mail earlier in the weekend.

After the session I headed to headquarters. There weren’t that many people that but we did some phone banking I had some dinner. I called Mom and within a half hour she came back to the headquarters.
The next couple of hours went by quickly. More and More people came and by 8:30-9 pm we had the final tally (except for the absentee ballots). There was some concerns that people were being kept away from voting but people were looking into it. As I suspected there were some tension early on.

We had pizza and we celebrated our victories and then I did some cleaning and by 9:30 I left. I got home by 10.

My arms ache so I took some ibuprofen and the medicine and went to bed by 12:30.

Last Day of Vacation

Considering that today is my last day of vacation.   I am going to make sure things that were not done (housework mostly) are done...
