My hope was to open the windows today

The sun is shining and even though the temperatures are in the mid-40s.   I would like to open the windows again and not have to turn on the heat.   I turned it off for now.   I turned the heat down to 50 and the thermostat says 65.   I can feel the cold a little but its freaking May. I did read this entry extoling the prospect of no more 30 degree weather where this guy lives.   I swear every time I read other people’s blogs about their weather it seems that we experience the same weather pattern at the same time. I will be taking a walk sometime soon and I am hoping maybe to do it before I head out to run some errands.   Not sure what direction I want to go in this time.   But I would like to get it further than I did yesterday and Sunday. We managed to do our regular routine today.   I have been spending time watching a few programs and I am sure I will later too.    Tiger and I cuddled literally on the couch again. She had bee...

Still a bit chilly

The rain indeed came through sometime around 3.   There was a light rain when I got up at 6 this morning.   It started to clear an hour later and the sun was pushing through and it still pushing.   The temperatures are supposed to get back into the 70s.   It may continue to rain later. I was so tempted to turn the thermostat back up but I still had the bedroom windows open.    I went online to look for guidance on when you turn the thermostat off and they say not to…if that’s the case why do they have an off button?   Why would you want the thermostat on during the summer months?   It would be too hot.     The Furnace is still feeding the hot water tank (I always think the two are separate).   I guess no matter how many times you explain it to me it won’t make sense. I still haven’t heard from Chairman Phil acknowledging the email from yesterday.   It’s the second time this week he hasn’t said anything.   I ...

Sunny and Bright

It is a bright and sunny morning and I have the Smithsonian Channel on and of course Aerial America Program.   It is featuring Pennsylvania right now.   Later it will be Connecticut and I will be very interested in seeing what they will cover. The weather forecast today will be in the high 60’s today and sunny.   Tomorrow is also going to be in the high 60’s as well.   It will have some clouds but no expected rain that I can see.   I am glad to see this because I want JoanS’s event to be successful. WE did our normal routine this morning and that included sleeping on the couch until 7.   I gave myself the shot this morning.   I am not sure there is supposed to have blood come out but it isn’t a lot.   I hope the prescription was sent over to the pharmacy because I have two left.   Actually that’s not bad because I have to get my INR checked again on Monday so I can pick it up then. While my coffee was being brewed I went upstair...

Mid Week Reflection

It’s that time of the week again.   It’s now been eight since I have been out of the hospital.   I have been taking the meds for this religiously.   The last day of the antibiotic was last night but there is like seven still left.   There were thirty in the bottle.   Still have to take the warfarin and the shots for the blood thinner.   I had some follow-up appointments that went well.   I have to probably keep getting my INR level check until this change.   I have had a great home healthcare nurse stop by a few times already but expect to be discharged next week. The quarantine is still going on and the state is making plans to open slowly by May 20.   They just made a deal with Quest Diagnostics to produce more tests to provide to the public.   The Death toll has risen but I don’t know the amount.   The number of confirmed cases seems to be slowing down. Residents have been ordered to wear masks and gloves out in public ...

Good Appointments

Well despite a very frustrating time logging on to the site yesterday morning I managed to see the doctor via phone video.   I was so mad.   I told him I was frustrated with the portal.   He explained this was being used for 20 years now and that any other one would be expensive as they want to maintain autonomy/independence.   Late this afternoon I reset the password and fixed in my list of saved passwords so now it should be okay but I was ripped. He seemed satisfied at the progress of the cellulitis but noticed some stuff that still needed to be done under general healthcare.   He says that once this quarantine is over we will schedule the physical and such.   In the meantime he has access to YNHH health system and see the tests and blood work that I have had done. The hematology visit was quick and as I expected just blood labs.   My next visit is on Tuesday morning.   By the time I got to that visit the rain started.    AS...

Feeling Tired

It’s after 6:30 now.   In the last several hours I managed to continue discussing the protest discussions with less defensive feelings that may have had earlier.   Now is the time to listen and absorb the viewpoints. I did manage to do some walking but not too far.   It was difficult to see as my glasses fogged up and my footing was unsteady.   I am entertaining the thought of going again but I would prefer it to be warmer its only 57 degrees and that’s not warm enough I actually cleaned out the car this morning and that didn’t take as long as I thought it would.   I put the empty soda bottles in the trunk and the winter related tools in the trunk.   Put the blanket in the back too.   I may have to get a new one as that is starting to fall apart.   I took out stuff that’s been just left in there (containers and bags) and sprayed them and put away-mostly.      I have ordered masks and gloves and that should be here sometime...

The protests

The sun came out for a short yesterday but that didn’t last long.   It went back to clouds and some rain showers.   While I didn’t do too much I did some odds and ends and took a shower.   Did cook the roast and it came out pretty well. Spent a lot of time on the computer and noticed discussions about people around the country who had been protesting their states hesitation on reopening from the pandemic.   One of my dearest friends believes these people’s opinions are not valid.   It was explained to me that these people don’t care, or don’t realize their actions cause harm to others.   I felt that they do have a right to protest as part of their civil rights.   I also believe it is up to the governors, and our leaders to decide when or what gets closed.   I would prefer the President would stop being such a flopping fish and either stick to his guns about being the one to make the final decision.   Maybe I am being a little too optimi...

Gloomy Saturday

It is a gloomy Saturday but I am not expecting it to stay that way all day.   Probably being a little optimistic but my hope is to do the things I planned for today that includes cleaning out the car.   It isn’t supposed to stop raining until about 2 and then just be cloudy for the late afternoon. I had a great sleep last night, I tried to sleep with my legs raised on the pillows under the blankets but that last only a short time.   I am thinking I can go back to regular sitting and lounging and if my legs get tired or swollen than put them up.   My intention is to get the compression stockings to help keep they less swollen. So I or should say we did our normal semi normal Saturday morning routine.   I did fall asleep on the couch like usual and then decided to come to my room and surf the net and then start on some pen pal letters.   I had the feeling the last couple of hours passed quickly. I called Howe’s Drug store this morning and asked about...

Good news

The weekend has officially started and it will be much more peaceful than last week.   Although if you think about it started fairly peaceful (even though I was vomiting my brain out for most of Friday) and I went to bed early that night too.   My leg is back to what is considered normal.   No swelling, or pain, redness.   Unfortunately I will continue to take the meds until they are either gone or am told to stop.   I just have to remember to keep wearing socks full time.     I may even go to the Howe’s drug store and pick up those compression stockings.   I should have done that a while back. Oh and one of the amigos got an appoint to those Rapid Corvid 19 test sites this evening and found out she was negative for the virus.   I had to Call MaryA and ask her why is this woman so obsessed with this is?   She even wondered.   It’s like no matter what it is whether it’s being paid extra or getting an extra day because she ...

pajama Day

It is just before 7 am and I have been up since before 6.   Much to the indignation of Sky and Tiger they really wanted to be fed by the normal time.   They were satisfied by the time we got down to the kitchen.   The routine moved along.   I made some coffee and planted myself on the couch. The only problem is now I have to go to the bathroom.    Have I mentioned it’s a pain to get up from the recliner? Anyway, I have been reading messages, and emails and alerts.   I have heard from Organizer Barbara during the night regarding my update.   She made offers to get things if I needed.   I explained I was okay and taken care of the groceries.   Among the reports that came through my inbox today was that a nurse from WR died earlier this month from Corvid19.   That prompted me to send an email to RecreationNatalie to offer my condolences. It is too early to expect a reply. I have checked in with the three amigos.   They see...

Had a very interesting Weekend

I was very sick on Friday.   I believe I had a stomach virus.   I was vomiting most of Friday and by Saturday I was sleeping the entire day away and getting up occasion for the required feeding and trips to the bathroom.   I was having a hard time walking but not realizing it until Sunday that it was swollen. After several messages back and forth to neighbor Kim I decided to call my PCP and the on call doc returned and after listening to me explain he told me to go to the ER and get test for the Corvid19 virus.   I got dressed in my sweats and top and headed to YNHH.   I parked the car and the Valet parking took it and I waited for my turn.   I was taken in quickly and given basic triage.   Then    I was taken to the rest of ER and put in a room and this Doc told me I didn’t need the virus test. However he did say I needed an ultra sound to see what the problem was with my leg.   So they eventually took me to DI.   I don’t kno...

I got up early

Actually I got up my normal time which concerned my friend MsAnn but I told her it was feeding time and that I went to bed very early.     That’s exactly what happened.   My phone went wonky last night and I was getting aggravated.   Actually I think the cosmos was going crazy with electronics and the internet.   Two of my favorite websites were offline.   One was the journaling website WordPress and the other was map my walk and it took a long time to sinc my nearly 3 mile walk yesterday.   Then my pedometer erased my steps for the day and I had well over 11,000 steps.   The last thing I saw it say 49.   I can’t believe how quickly the battery drained in the two hours I have been up.   I am charging it now but this is ridiculous.   It has to be the full moon.   Well as soon as it’s charged I will go for that walk. I just checked my amazon order of Toilet paper and the bras?   It won’t be delivered until May. ...

Managed to get into the attic

I managed to get up into the attic for an hour yesterday.   I emptied out two flexible wardrobes.   The first one had clothes of mine that I ended up putting away in my closet to try on later.   They are mostly spring type clothes.   I did find an older winter jacket of mine that was stretched at the cuff.   There were other clothes that belonged to Mom.   They went into the bag going to Good Will.   I have to finish dismantling the second one. During the time I was up in the attic found some pictures that I am definitely keeping along with the awards for Mom’s Living Treasure from twelve years ago.   They are still up there and I will bring them down later.   I have two bags that will go to the dump next week if I can get lawn guy to agree.    I will have to discuss that with him on Sunday.   I found a picture of Liz and the boys when they were young it was part of a church directory they belonged to years ago.   I ...
