Happy Monday

Ah Monday what a lovely day?  It is overcast and a little windy this morning.  Commuters have to deal with the repair process in Bridgeport from Friday night’s train crash and this will take a few days according to sources.

Work went well today we were happy to welcome back a coworker who had been out on leave and she looked great.  We had celebratory breakfast of treats and delights. Elsewhere on campus there was a shooting over the weekend.  It was very close to the office.    It is a way I walk from Debra’s sometimes.

Graduation continued on campus.  Traffic was a bit heavy throughout the city I am told.  I have to admit I didn’t really have any problems coming home today.   Most of the activities were over by then anyway.  Memorial Day weekend is Alumni Weekend and that will be as crazy if not more.  As of right now this will be the entire schedule for the week.

I may not have had a difficult drive home but getting to the street proved a little difficult.  The guys were working on New Haven Avenue.  The office directing traffic had to ask me where I had to go.  I am wondering if later on in the week I may have to park at the Baybrook center and walk back to the house.

Mom was surprised to find me home early.  I had told her I planned on staying for OT but as the time approached there really wasn’t enough to warrant and I was tired.  Mom was glad I came home anyway.  We had dinner around 5:30 we had homemade beefaroni.

Mom had a Bridges meeting and left around 6:30.  Seh should be back by 9.  I am probably going to bed early.

Finally my thoughts and prayers to eveyrone in Oklahoma going through the awful storms and tornadoes.  I have many friends both online and off that live there and I am sending prayers to you all.

I need to have

I really need to go back to LensCrafters® and have them check my glasses. Every time I take my glasses off and put them on it feels like they can’t focus or I see double. I think it started back the night after I literally slept on them and found the left lens popped out. I put it back in but I don’t think I did it right. It seems fine once I put them on but it just feels strange.

I woke up around 2 this morning for a bathroom run. I noticed my left ankle/foot was doing pretty well until I was awake for a while. The right ankle felt like someone was putting one of those vices on it while I was walking. I may just have to keep taking the “tramadol”® until this passes.

I stayed awake for a while so I did my routine of surfing the net until I got tired again. I am not sure why else I stayed up but I felt rested. The only problem is I wanted to be up by five so I could do some things before work. (That didn’t happen)

I was really glad to see one of my co-workers Wendy return from a short term medical leave yesterday. She had been in a car accident weeks ago and was out recuperating. She tells me she wasn’t feeling well yet but she was sort of glad to be back.

It rained for a bit last night. I really couldn’t hear it but during one of my tours around the upstairs before going to bed I looked outside and saw the roads were wet. It looks like we will be getting rain until Wednesday night or so. That’s the night I am having dinner with the Rubinstein’s. I still haven’t decided where to go yet. There is a restaurant called The Equinox we went to a couple of times but haven’t been there in a while.

Today went pretty well. Despite the fact I had a hard time walking from the garage to the office however it was nice to have Sally T my director walking with me. We did get stopped after crossing the crosswalk by a police officer who was chastising us for walking against the light. We looked at each other and kept saying “yeah, yeah”. After he left we talked about how stupid he was with all the crime in the city that he was going to give us a hard time with the crosswalk.

We were supposed to have a fire drill but some one was good enough to cancel it since it was raining out. I finished yesterday’s mail but I still have to finish today’s mail. Some how I managed to get behind (again). Most Tuesdays I am usually finished with the mail.

Connecticut and especially Cheshire Connecticut got the word today that one of the defendants who raped, murdered the Petit Family women was found guilty of 16 of the 17 charges against him and he is looking at the death penalty.

His co-defendant and partner in this horrendous act will be going to trial sometime in January of 2011. Many feel that these two men should be put to death. At this moment I do not feel this will achieve anything. I don’t have any solid reasoning behind this but I do respect others views on this.

Today was also the day the Time Square Bomber was sentenced to life for his foiled attempt to blow up Times Square in NY. According to the reports he was defiant and warned that the US will still be attacked.

Now that my NCIS watching is over for tonight I am going empty out some more emails and perhaps some files as well. Then I am going to bed as I can feel my eyes getting heavy.

Had a Good Day

It is Tuesday night and in a few hours I will be watching the much anticipated new episode of NCIS with the rest of the world. In the mean time I am going to pay some more bills and do laundry in preparation for my short trip to PA at the end of the week.

Today went pretty well. I had a good night’s sleep and woke up with no problems and I managed to leave before 7:15. It’s always a goal for me. The ride in was fine until I got to the garage where the construction site was getting a delivery from a very long tractor trailer. It took a few minutes for it to maneuver into the digs and it made me very nervous with the cop so close to the truck I thought for sure he would get clipped or injured.

I got to the office after 7:30 and started working on the lockbox from yesterday. I stopped long enough to get the breakfast I ordered before getting there. The morning went by pretty well. No Major issues and was able to have all that done by the time we (hmm me thinks I am having multiple personalities today) left. The 10 buckets of Physicians directories provided by Connecticut Medical Society that’s been the bane of my existence will be taken and readdressed by Maria R (Senior Administrative Assistant) and out of my hair.

I am hoping that when I finish with the bad address tally for the last two days I can work on getting some other stuff done so I can relax for the rest of the week. I am going to try and go in early tomorrow.

We had a staff meeting today. We usually have one every month. Sue R was there to explain the importance of having accuracy in the work that we do. Well it was mostly pointed at the Cash posting but I what I can from it for my own job.

Yesterday there was a candle light vigil for Alexa and PJ Heron who were killed over the weekend at Gulf Beach in Milford, Friends, and family gathered to honor their memory. According to Danbury Newstime the two teens were returning from a family gathering. Tonight is the wake and the funeral will be held tomorrow. I didn’t know them personally and I even asked Telka if the young girl was supposed to be in the club She said no but that several of the girls might know her or of her.

Well it is time for me to hit the sack. Have a great night and be safe.

Going to be a short Night

My back hurts and the Charlie horse muscle pains that I have had all afternoon are going to prevent me from staying up long. Well I usually try to go to bed by 9 all the time anyway this will not be difficult.

I have already taken ibuprofen and did a shower massage (and made a wet mess all over the place. I hope it dries by the time Mom gets into the bathroom). I also put Ben Gay on the back and behind the knee. Didn’t a girl die after putting Ben Gay on herself? Well hopefully nothing will happen.

Work went well. I met some new staff members in the Reimbursement area. I can’t remember her name just yet but I also found out the new Medicaid Team leader Kathy Bunko has her Mom working in the department (I had met her some time last week) but I saw the woman from Reimbursement walking with them. I made the observation you must know each other (or something like that) from some place else (half of the staff has worked with each other at CHCP or Anthem BSBC.

I told many people how my weekend went with the family visit. I made an agonizing face a few times. Let’s just say they got the point. Of course they were sympathetic or empathetic with me.

I managed to get most of the mail done except the postage tallying and the bad address tallying. I have a few “readdress” mail to do and I can do all that in the morning. I think I want to get to work early. I will be taking Dolette home from work. Her son will need the car.

I got a call from Senator Slosberg’s campaign manager and she was asking me if I could work the polls election day. I told her I could after work. So I have been assigned Poll standing at Joseph A Foran from 4:30 to 6:30. I will greet and thank people for coming out to Vote. Pray that it is not raining that day or night. I will be dressed up for the occasion as well. I think I may even bring coffee if I have the time.

Well I got my car back today. It cost me $81.13 for the entire thing. It included an oil change, and a repair to the radiator lid and some other hinges. Now I hope it will be working properly now.

Mom tells me she will be counting the absentee ballots starting tomorrow. She would prefer to be doing this then standing in a room with people and not being able to hear anything.

Finally I want to send out my heartfelt condolences to Actress Jennifer Hudson on the tragic lost of her family this weekend. You will be in my prayers! For those who are stupid and ignorant enough to cast blame and suspicion on the sister don't go there! We were not there!

Last Day of Vacation

Considering that today is my last day of vacation.   I am going to make sure things that were not done (housework mostly) are done...
