To all those who love Halloween may the spirits protect and guide you tonight. After the God awful attack in NY this afternoon I really mean it.  God I had to turn off the news because it was too sad.   I won’t be handing out candy considering we haven’t had large groups come to our street in years.    I have a feeling two of our newest neighbors will be highly disappointed that it's been quiet tonight.  As i said earlier this week Liz and Nel went to FAirfield to be with the grandkids. I sent Halloween cards to Jim and his kids and to Liz.  DId talk with Jim. He told me they had TorT in his town last friday.  I can understand a little better how it possibly could be here if legislators make a statue to have Halloween on the last weekend. Well it is the day after the storm and we did okay.  There was a power blip that i would say happened just before 10 (I was watching weatherman Sam Kantrow report from Anchor Beach) and warning people to stay home and be safe..Um good advice but don’t  you think you should heed your own advice?  I mean I could hear the wind and I made sure the windows were locked.  Most of them locked with no problems except for height.   The kitties seemed a little agitated so you know who really cuddled with me.  Although he did venture to the rest of the house a couple of times.  Tiger finally came up around 11 I think.   The winds subsided by 1 and we finally fell back to sleep. I had gotten up a couple of times last night.  First to take tums (the sauce was a little spicy)  and the second to have the sleepytime tea.  I have to get some more for that one.  I went back to bed feeling okay but this morning not so much.  Aft...

I think I broke the World record for shopping.   I managed to spend 45 minutes and not break the budget for grocery shopping.   I was home before 8 am.   I started doing some cooking the chicken breasts should be done in another ten minutes.   I have more to make.   I am going to make sauce now. I don’t think I have ever been in a store so early in the morning.   There wasn’t a lot of people there at 7:15 in the morning on a Sunday.   I may do that again some time.   I did get a few things not on the list but still needed.   Of course there was one thing I didn’t get. Well now the chicken strips are done I tried a couple and wrapped the rest for snacks later.   I have sauce going and later on I might do the roast again the right way this time.   I finally decided to bring up a tray table from downstairs to put the laptop on it made it much easier on the counters.   I was certain I would have to say up late but by 5:30...

I didn’t sleep well last night.   I was on the computer after midnight  I suspect it had to do with the amount of caffeine I had yesterday between several cups of coffee, the regular tea, and soda.   The kitties were both sleeping on the bed when I went to go to bed and then one by one they left.  I must have dozed off because next thing I know Tiger was back at the foot of the bed.  SKy went off somewhere and when he came back he took a flying leap across and back off the bed again.  I think I finally fell asleep an hour or so later because by 4:30 I was woken up by Sky and stayed until 5:30.   I will go back to sleep once I Finish a few things first. Happy Saturday! I had a few errands to do this morning and then spent time with my sister before she did some stuff including the Oktoberfest.   We talked about stuff.   Same stuff we always talk about (family wise) and we talked about what we were or weren’t doing for Halloween this year.     When I got home I had lunch and then finished up the day with writing letters, and laundry.   Near the end of the day I did some cooking. Before heading to my sister’s I stopped at the pet store just to look well I fell in love with this little 3 month old Terrier mix.   So I spent some time with him in the “play” area.   He was so wiggly and cuddly and loveable.   I so was tempted to bring him home to kitties but I knew it wasn’t really going to happen.   Don’t have the money for it and I am not sure that Sky and Tiger would be appreciative.   Not only that I probably would have been disowned by my sister. I get a credit card bill yesterday from one of the credit cards I use rarely (probably one of my blogging sites). and It says I owe $90.  I spent 20 irritating minutes trying to access the site and changed my info twice.  Now I can’t even access it.  According to the statement there haven’t been any payments.  I actually took the time to register again when I got home and found that the item was my Norton Anti-virus and so I have directly signed up with Capital One.  So I am hoping no more issues.  Besides I already set up payment for it anyway.     Today was spent pretty much like this past week. Attacking the readdress pile a little more, doing refunds, scanning for about 2 hours today, and the daily mail.  The only thing is the courier mail (that brings me the us mail and campus mail) didn’t seem to come.  I know they were there because they took the mail at 9 instead of 1.  It was a pretty good day.  A Flyer went...

  My day was hectic and busy.   I spent most of it doing mail and a little on Refunds.   I actually have a small batch of refunds to mail out tomorrow.   I did walk to the Medical Mail room to pick up some payroll stuff but it really didn’t help my ankle in the least.   I was ecstatic that I got the daily mail off my desk.   The Post office mail came at its normal time when of late it seemed to come to me late.           There was a town hall meeting that started at 3:3o and went for an hour.   You could either go to it in person or catch it on line.   I did neither.   I was already online a lot today.   I have a feeling it didn’t go unnoticed.         I was so glad to come home    by 5.   I chatted with neighbor Don and Lilly as they were playing with the wood pile in their part of the driveway.   We talked about the tree that crashed...

The laptop and it went on.  I didn’t kill it.  I guess it was going through   really long updates.  Which is good because I have a few documents that I haven’t moved over to the PC yet.  I probably should incase it happens again.     Yesterday was very long.  I finished monday’s mail in the morning, and did some scanning for an hour and then went back to the mail when it started coming in and at that point got frustrating because I was getting mail from departments that I don’t normally get.  Maybe in dribs and drabs but not like this so I told Supervisor Bob that I will just readdress it and send it out.  He seemed fine with it.  In the late afternoon the rest of the mail came and as usual had to finish it this morning.  I finished that by 10 today. I am beginning to panic now.  Why you ask well I have four weeks to make reservations at a restaurant for Thanksgiving dinner for Jim and myself.  After talking with him yesterday about it the one place (safe place) I was thinking of was not warmly received.  I am going to try and check the places that Nextdoor Don raved about.  Unfortunately I can’t do it right now.   We just got notification that Supervisor can’t approve anymore time for the day before.  I couldn’t take it off even if I wanted to.  I just have to do something about this. The rest of the day was filled with mailing out refunds, scanning, more refunds, and opening mail.  I didn’t get all the mail done but I will have it done tomorrow. Oh I think I broke the laptop tonight.   The battery charging said it wasn’t charging (I had it plugged in) so I looked at the battery area.   It looked fine (but I suspect I Have to replace it eventually) and it turned back on and was doing the circle thing and then about five minutes later it turned completely off.   No lights, no noise, nothing.   Why did I open that part of the laptop? So what else happen?   I went to bingo.   The natives were a bit restless and rude to the boys.   The Prep boys did a great job. I called for the first half hour and then I let Max do the rest of it.   Maria was there and doing stuff she needed to do.   After bingo was finished I headed home to eat. I relaxed for a bit and then one by one the kitties came down at various times and then went back upstairs to the spare room.   I then had stewed tomatoes and then sat down and talked with Mama Roberta for about half hour. This weekend has been catching up on things again.   I managed to get the laundry done so I don’t have it hanging around all week again.   I had them hanging in the kitchen until Sunday afternoon at least they were clean.   I still have to pick up a pair of pants at the tailors and leave the other new pair with them. That will have to be done by Monday.   The two summer dresses are in the spare room with the rest of the summer wardrobe.    I think I still have to revise my next order from Dia. I finally cooked the chicken wings and they came out pretty good. Despite or in spite of the omission of the garlic salt.   I have to work on the garlic pressing part of it.   I may have to get more garlic some of the cloves were disintegrating.   I still have to get the stews made but I need a few more things such as vegetables.   I did some more grocery shopping on Sunday. Mid week I found it to be quite cold starting each day  but it got  warmer by the end of the day and then cooler by bed time.  I turned the furnace back up to 65 for the day and I could feel the difference.  I always wonder if that will affect the furnace in some way.  If the house blows up I will know then!      As I mentioned on Facebook there is no rain in the forecast until tuesday. Kept the thermostat at 65 so far.  You know it's cold when both kitties get on the bed with you.  I actually brought tiger up and she stayed for a  couple of hours but she wasn’t pleased I made her.   She eventually settled down  Sky was beside me for just as long. Today seemed a bit warmer.  It got up into the low 70’s and was beautiful.  I opened the windows when I got home and of course turned the heat down to 50.    If it gets colder during the night I will turn it up to 65.  I have heard ...

I think I am going to stop sharing everything with people!   I was telling a co-worker that (I tell a lot of things to) that I got my DIA.com order and she had never heard of it but when I told her how much it came to she said that was too much.   I found myself justifying why I got it and she insisted it was too much.   I told her I wasn’t discussing it with her.    I am not sure what I was really expecting her to say probably.   I was hoping she would be “supportive” if that applies here. I do admit I wasn’t expecting it to be that much money for five pieces but I should have considering the pair of pants I paid Liz for last week were $60. I didn’t really sleep well last night. Another weekend has arrived and I can’t seem to get going.   I had all these things planned for this weekend and all I want to do is sleep. Yesterday was a huge success for me. I worked until 1 yesterday and then had my appointment with the Rheumatologist. Actually it was with the Nurse PR actioner. I was a little late but apparently so was Anita.   Aside from the fluid in the ankles and the weight I am doing okay.   Sadly Anita is retiring in December.   She says they are looking for a replacement but they don’t know when.   When I was leaving we promised to keep in touch.   I have to get some lab work done. I might get it done today. After that I headed to DMV and got the title to the car.   I had to pay for it again this time it was $25.   I had to sign an affidavit to say the loan was paid off.   I was out of there in 45 minutes I think.   I was home by 4.   I called Davis W at the insurance company and I called Liz. ...
