Day 2 of normal routine

I managed to get up a little after 5 and do a few things before feeding the team.  I was surprised I was in such good spirits considering I went to bed fairly late.  I put the coffee on as I was getting ready for the day, took my daily meds.  The normal start  to the day in our house.

I was able to leave a little after 7 and made it to the gas station like I should have yesterday but luckily it was okay.  I got to the office by 7:30 and chatted with SR.  I found out some stuff “is coming down the pike as for as additional tasks.  I also admitted my regret about not working more.   She admitted it was her first day back to the office too. 

I set up for the day and chatted with some more of my coworkers who came in for the first time.  I found out MC’s mom has been quite ill.    I hope she will be okay, but unfortunately it will be a long road.  I made phone calls to IT and as of now they are working on it I believe.

I have the area committee meeting at 12 pm and I will have to find a place to sit and participate.  We have an Ally meeting with other unions tomorrow I think.  I don’t know…I just wrote up the notes in my Union file on the computer. 

It doesn’t look like I am going to the meetup tomorrow night.  I want to attend that Ally meeting tomorrow night.  I would have found out about it if I could get connected.  I tried even with the suggestions.  They even said use the zoom connection for the phone.  I got so aggravated that I just gave up and went back to work with out even having lunch.

There were some issues about the mail.  We are trying to find out if they were here or not yesterday.  Kilby station was not picked up.  The other stuff in cash bags were the only thing we got.  I sometimes wonder if we all mean the same thing when we say “the courier service” was here this many times.

The rest of my day went into the crapper.  I realized I was scanning documents the wrong way and ended up losing the said files.  I was able to redo some of them that I touched today.  Luckily AC helped out and was able to rescue at least one day.  We were able to get a document access so that I can make the refund scanning  batch sheet.  IT was helpful in getting Java updated and epic reset and now I can access my time card from every place except from the laptop at home.  I took a picture of it and sent it to the guy who helped me today. I gave him the information and will check the email again tomorrow.

I came home by 4:30.  I had my lunch food as snack.  I had relaxed until it was time to get to the gym.  I missed Paiges class but after my session with Alex I stayed until 7:15.  I did thirty minutes on the treadmill and made it to 9k (not exactly the 10K as promised) and became 10Kplus by the time I got to the car.

When I got home the cats were roaming but there was a mess on the floor of my old phone and pictures and pins.  It was the second time today it was on the floor.  I am not sure what was going on.  Either I am being visited by spirits or these two where have a grand old time.

I made dinner, watched a little tv and then started the taxes.  I just finished a little before ten.  To say it was stressful would be an understatement.  Everything I worked on was zooming.  I used Turbotax and it cost me just over $150.  I was getting aggravated every time an email alert, or page alert would show up. There were so many questions they went through I couldn’t answer (like paying stuff from another state) I mean I used chewy or amazon or Newegg but I think they charged state taxes. 

I had FMLA so I think that was correct.  I just don’t know.  There were all the questions about owning the house.  I just don’t know and I didn’t want to call “HIM” or my sister because it was getting late.  I am getting alerts that they have been submitted.    I was really obnoxious and I was cussing and I never know if I am so loud that the neighbors can hear me.    Well one won’t they don’t look like they are around.     Well the kitties seem fine (they spent the last two hours downstairs)

I don’t think I will be going to bed anytime soon.

 

Managed to get more done

I felt  a little more accomplished than I did earlier Sunday.  I managed to move around many more of the blog/journal files I have been working on and it's beginning to look a little better.  I know i should be working on Christmas cards and I will at my speed (as usual).

I had my phone session with Debra around 1 and that’s what kind of got me going on the organizing again.  I told her about the frustrations I Have been dealing with (the medical release forms, the cooking obstacles, the family discussions).  Talked about Thanksgiving, and my weeks ahead.  By the time I got off the phone I felt better.

I got a text from Dave he invited me to the movies for last night.  We went to see the grinch at 6:05.  NO dinner (he is trying to save money) and he had some things to do (holiday related).   He is picking me up at 5.  So I have to shower and dress.  I also want him to open that stupid bottle of vinegar.  Don’t think we will have a lot of time to catch up.

I have already started another list grocery list for the next order.  I told Debra I started that again.  It's a little more convenient.  I am also going to order some stuff from Chewy.com like the litter box freshners and the de-icer for pets.

Dave picked me up and he brought me a poinsettia.  We talked about the care of it and what to do in case kitties get to it (while I am around).  When I got home from the movies filled a spray bottle with water.

We saw the Grinch.  It was cute and a slight variation to the story.  Cindy Lou Who was also trying to help her Single Parent be happy (and help the Grinch too).  It was really cute.  What wasn’t cute were the constant ads and the very few previews.

We were able to catch up with each other and of course he asked questions he sort of knew the answers to (the ones about who is parking in front of the house).  He also had asked if I heard about President G HW Bush’s Death.  REALLY???

It was nearly 8 when I got home so I got ready for bed and got online I did more of the organizing until I was afraid I would put them in the wrong places.  At the same time I knew I could move at later time but I wanted it done right the first time.

This morning I slept through my alarm(I woke up several times during the night-not sure why) the kitties woke me and I managed to get up the normal time.  We did our normal routine.  They seemed to missed the litter box target twice.  It also had a funky smell to it and I am wondering if it was due to the food I gave them.

Been at work now a few hours.  Was greeted with mixed reactions (I think) and of course asked how was feeling.  Apologized to SR and handed Bob the note.  Been working on the scanning and fixing Kronos.  

Been working on the organizing as well.  I know I shouldn’t but I am getting the work done as well.  

More than once GA/GArgoyle was acting as though she was my boss.  Asking if I washed my hands before handing her the mail.  Saying she would take care of the mail, that I needed to be sure to wipe down all the things in the scanning office because she had done it last week.  PBC later told me she didn’t.  She also was getting tired of Gargoyle acting the ways she was.  She also told me they felt bad because they knew I didn’t do anything out of meanness or spite

I was supposed to go to the gym tonight but I knew  I would not make it  I was starting to get tired, and I wanted to cook.  

I got home around 5 fed the kitties put the TV on watched did some channel surfing then started cooking.

The first thing I did is reheat the cranberries for 20 minutes on medium high and they look much better and are now gelling in the refrigerator.  I will need a cup of the cranberry sauce when i make the bread next.

Then I did the ribs.  I seasoned them (they were not exactly what the recipe called for but that’s okay.  Put them on the rimmed cookie sheet and covered with aluminum foil.  Unfortunately I think I must have turned the oven off.  IT looked like it was partially cooked then I put the sauce (that wasn’t enough) on it and broiled it...it seemed done but I think I need to cook them more.  It pissed me off that it didn’t turn out right but its done.   I don’t know what to do next time to make it different ..well I do.  Maybe wait to put the olive oil in and then let the other stuff congeal.

Insert Rant:  For some reason the aluminum foil was not coming off the roll and it was like seran wrap.  I ended up throwing it way.  Luckily I had some more that was better.    I better check downstairs to see if it is downstairs before I put it on the list

I put a load of laundry through it should be done by the time I get up tomorrow.  I better get going to bed.  I am tired.
