Allentown Day 2

Our plans for yesterday afternoon changed by lunchtime.  Janis came home from WW at that point and we decided to have a snack (unhealthy lunch LOL) and decided to go to the Allentown Art Museum,  Where there were two exhibitions of interest The Art for Church and Home that included a tiffany window that had a small light show.  There was a quilt exhibition that we never made it to.  Both Jim and my energy level were waning.  We decided to come home.  Neither of us went to the gym or washed the car yet.

We stopped to get iced coffee and then returned home to have a mid-afternoon snack.   We made plans for dinner.  Left over lasagna and salad.  Janis and I made plans to go to Aldi to get salad fixing after we had some quiet time.

It was also just about then the so called “storm” was starting.  It was a light rain but no Thunder or lightening. Sunshine was short-lived, as clouds came back by 7 and it rained most of the night.

Janis planned to attend the Sheep and Wool festival in New Milford, PA, but her friend canceled, so now everyone is doing their own thing.   I might need a nap since I stayed up late updating files and calendars.

Sunday Slowdown

Good morning, I hope you are enjoying this first day of fall.  It’s 62 out and its sunny.  The sky is spotted with clouds.  They are beautiful.  It’s supposed to get into the 70’s for the day and then down to the 60’s overnight.  There is a coastal flood alert/warning for today.

Today is going to be a quiet day, I think.  I have some chores to do but I will probably put it off until Wednesday after my infusion.

Things are just getting started for the year with the Ladies Guild.  We had a meeting Monday Night to discuss the Auction night Dinner.  By the end of the week President Martha had a whole list of assignments and dates for the next couple of months.  I must read it over and see where I am at this point.    I am feeling a little overwhelmed and haven’t done anything yet.

For the last several weeks been getting emails about the Endicott College home coming and reunion weekend that’s happening next weekend.  Sadly, I haven’t been back there since I left.  I never graduated from there but as you know you become an alumnus even if you didn’t graduate.

The New England Chapter of the Linden Hall School Alumnae is trying to schedule an autumn lunch.  I think they already had it in Boston.  It was scheduled for mid-week.  Trying to save emails is challenging.

It is now almost 9 at night.  It’s been a quiet afternoon and evening.  I chatted with my Neighbor Addie and her boy Oscar.  Then I put steaks in the freezer and had some for a late lunch.  I surfed the net and watched tv.

As the evening progressed, I washed the floors in the kitchen and bathroom with the Swiffer wet mop.  I am not sure they really work that well.  I may have to use a real mop and real cleaner.

Week One of my vacation is over

Good morning! It’s almost ten and it’s 77 degrees and cloudy.  We are supposed to get rain later this afternoon.  I hope its after I get home from Lunch and grocery shopping.

As the title of this essay (sue me) indicates, the first week of my two-week vacation is done.  I still have one more and I am looking forward to it.  A part of me got stuff done and as I sit here, I think could I have done more?  Probably, but I keep procrastinating.

Tomorrow, I am helping with ticket sales for the Ladies Guild Dinner on Tuesday. There was supposed to be the Milford

Walk Challenge, but I didn’t sign up for that.  Besides I haven’t been walking regularly to be in shape.  Monday, nothing planned.  A couple of doctor appointments, lab work, meetup, and a picnic next week.

Things are a little busy around the complex.  There have been a few trucks for    neighbors’ grocery deliveries.  Landscaping crew is trimming the bushes out back.

It’s been several hours now.  I left after 10:30 and took the backroads and ended up having a slight delay for an accident.  It wasn’t a long wait but the Orange police had arrived as people were gathering and traffic moving slowly.

I got to the credit union and got money (really didn’t need it), then put waze on to get me to the restaurant.  Again, it took me to the side roads and pretty much avoided 95.

MaryA was there when I arrived.  We were going to wait until the resashentaurant opened but the manager let us in, and we sat down to wait for Miss Ann.  We chatted for a few minutes and then ordered. We started off with coffee, and then we placed our order.   I got the Onion soup, and then cobb salad with Chicken.  Ann got a Sriracha shrimp salad.  MaryA got a cheeseburger with onion rings, and she shared them.  We didn’t leave until maybe 1:30.

We had a great time, we talked about work, and about families, and the homeless situation in around where Ann lives.  It was fun.

It was starting to rain as we left.  Instead of getting on the highway, I drove along the shore and into Woodmont.  Then headed home.  It was evident that it rained a lot at the complex.

When I got home, I wasn’t feeling well again.  It was happening at the restaurant too.  I didn’t do too much.  I stopped at Dunkin for the pumpkin Spice Coffee and muffin.  Came to $4.97.  I watched TV.  Did some odds and ends.

Around quarter of five I was starting dinner.  I had fed Sky earlier.  It was just about then Liz called and asked if I would go with her to Wal*Mart to pick up her glasses.  As we were leaving the sky looked ominous and a short time later it started raining.  By the time we got back to Milford it was coming down hard.

We got home and the rain let up a little.  Liz dropped me off and I went inside and finished my dinner.  She went home and took it easy.  She was speaking this evening at her meeting.

I watched TV, The Wizarding world marathon was on with the Harry Potter Movies, and Star Wars franchise, and of course NCIS.

I finally cleaned out one kitchen cabinet that’s been bothering me.  All the plastic baggies that had been laying on the floor of the cabinet I was going to save but decided to throw them out.

There is a lot more I need to do.

We just had more rain.  It was coming down hard at first but now barely hear it.

I think It is time to go to bed.

Labor Day Weekend

Well Labor Day 2022 is over and I am still on vacation.  Friday was a quiet day for doing some cleaning around the house.  My tooth was starting to bother me that day too.

Saturday was beautiful and I did walk with Mike Smith the candidate for representative of the 119.  We met at the headquarters and its a small headquarters and I will be surprise if many people could fit in that at once.  Anyway we waited for a few more people and and then Mike and I headed out to the Gulf Pond area of the city.  Beautiful homes and many pets.  We did this until 12 and then headed back to headquarters and then I went home.

Saturday afternoon was relaxing and did some more cleaning and then went grocery shopping that night.  Still trying to get healthy foods.  I went to Aldi's but couldn't get a few things.  I would later on in the weekend get them or at least few of them.

Sunday was coffee with Sis day.  We spent about an hour together and we talked about the family, how she is doing, and of course the Boat situation.  It went well.  After the visit I headed to the nursing home for bingo.

There were only six players and one left early.  He was fairly obnoxious.

Sunday night  I had to call the dentist because of my tooth.  It killed me.

Monday was a cloudy day I ran a few errands to the dollar tree store and Walmart to get a few things.  The rest of the day was quiet because the plans I made with Petsitter Stephanie fell through.  Her schedule kind of changed and she wouldn't be walking in Branford.  But she said we would do something sometime during the week.

I also spoke to Dave and we have plans to get together on Friday at Silver sands State Park.  We also are making tentative spa plans for the 16th.  In the mean time he was spending time with Jim and getting ready for work.

I also spoke to Cyn and we made plans to go to the Nike Outlet in Clinton for Saturday but need to confirm on Friday.

LauraG from the group and I are getting together Wednesday afternoon for a visit and lunch.  I am really excited about this.  I really wanted to show her the condo.

I heard from the dentist and I have an 11:30 appoint before I meetup with Laura.  It should take about an hour...x-rays and such.

Wednesday night I have a 5th District meeting at the HQ and hopefully it won't be long.

This week is already going by fast.

Winter Storm Bob or who ever

This is what i woke up to this morning.  Going to last until 4 so i have heard...

I think this storm was given two different Names in New England.  One I heard was Bobby and then I read it was Kenan.  Either is cool.  It came sometime after 8 on Friday.  I had been home a couple of hours from my sister’s house.  I kept looking out the doors and windows to see if it had started and how heavy it was.  As others have mention it was a light snow and continued all day Saturday until 4.  It was about then the wind started picking up.

The plow crew came through at least 4 times the entire day.   They must have started sometime before 8 Saturday morning but the snow was still coming down and in no time covered up again.  When I checked around 6 it looked as though they did a better job but more needs to be done.  I am watching for when President Frank and others move their cars back to the regular places.

The total snowfall is 11.3 inches here in Milford.  The rest of the state was all over the place.  Some places got more than a foot.  Other’s not so much.

I did start to clean in the bathroom.  I cleaned the litterboxes and then after that I got tired.  I did some laundry and emptied the dishwasher.  The rest of the time I slept, or watched TV and ate food.

Now I am tired because I didn’t go to sleep until maybe 3.  I tried to answer emails and write a letter.

I am going to have to do my cleaning later.  I am never sure I can do cleaning (vacuuming) on Sunday.

It looks like

I was checking the weather page today and it looks like we are in for some snow showers over the next three days.  They are not supposed to start until later tonight and then again in morning tomorrow and Tuesday.

During recent committee meetings it was announced that our union President would be stepping down from this office to take on a job with the International Union. I don’t have time to scan it to my computer while at work.  I took picture of it with the camera.  I will put it in the folder on the computer.

All the other documents I have to either look through or scan can be done another time.

I have to go to bingo now….

Moving Very Slowly

Last night while I was in bed I had a dizzy spell.  Actually I had two while in bed.  I was lying there and the room was spinning.  It passed so I thought and I decided to get up slowly as recommended in article from Mayo Clinic and went to the bathroom and while I was sitting on the throne it happened again.  That one passed and so I decided to go lie down in the Livingroom.  I got up to check the door and wham.  It happened again.  So I could tell I was about to vomit so I headed to the bathroom and did just that.  This all happened sometime after midnight.  I think I fell asleep a short time later.

The snow came around 9 and lasted until about 10:30.  It was basically a coating and was washed away by the rain that followed.  I could hear the wind coming through though.  It had been raining most of the morning but the sun came out.

I have heard from my sister who also sent me a coupon for coffee from Christmas Tree Shop.  I would have had to get it by today.  I decided not to.  She still has a cough.  She didn’t have much damage at her home.

I heard from Jim via text they got snow last night that ended last night and not amounting to much either.  It seems they were getting the same weather we did.  Snow showers were expected here.

Well I ended up not working in the office after all.  I wasn’t feeling well still and I got tired.  I vacuumed the house and put it in the guestroom/office.  I decided to sleep.

I did have a late lunch of scrambled eggs as I wasn’t sure my stomach could handle much more.  The glass of milk wasn’t bad either.  Not sure I am in the mood to make dinner or the chicken.

It took me a while

It did take me awhile to get to sleep last night.  I tossed and turned a little and then went out to the living room and tried to sleep on the sofa while watching the NCIS marathon.  I couldn’t do that so I came back.  It must have been around midnight when I finally fell asleep.  The various music programs going.

WE have been up and did our normal routine already.  The alarm bell for my meds has gone off at 6 but I took them later when I had my breakfast.  The cats and I went back to bed until the sun rose.

It is 5 degrees out.  It might get to 18 degrees out.  Man, I don’t want to have to go out there for anything but I will have to empty the garbage again.  The sun was out by 7.

I heard from the girls and they have busy days.  Gil and her husband are going to a Jeep Meetup ride.  Steph is going to work, and Laurie was at an early morning service.  Not sure what anyone is doing yet.

I have heard from Janis already. JI probably will hear from Liz a little later I think.

A little after ten I got a text alert from the pharmacy telling me the prescription is ready.  As soon as I finished washing the floors I went and got it and the other things I wanted and couldn’t get at Aldi’s.  I didn’t get the guacamole though maybe on the next run next week.

When I got home I put the stuff away and decided to watch TV and fell asleep missing the end of Silent Night” episode of NCIS and waking up to see McGee in the prison interviewing a prisoner.

I decided to take a nap until 3 where I picked up two or three more NCIS marathons.  It was also about that time the sky became cloudier.  I looked at the weather pages and it doesn’t look like we will get snow or rain until after midnight.  There is a coastal flood warning for tonight.

I fed the cats around 4:30 and showered.  I made dinner around 5.  I made cheeseburger.  I had two patties as one shrunk more than the other. It was delicious but I have been feeling like I should be taking tums.

I talked with Dave last week and he told me his BIL Pat (his sister Carlene’s husband) passed away unexpectedly and I found Pat’s obituary today.  Sadly things between Dave and Pat haven’t been great since Carlene Died twelve years ago.  Dave never liked him to begin with but apparently Dave learned that Pat was cheating on Carlene while they were married.  Not sure about the rest of them.

I know it’s early but I am all set for the night.  I have been in my pajamas for the last couple of hours and the second hour of Echoes is on.  I think I will do some crossword puzzles and then go to sleep.

Since I didn’t do any vacuuming it will have to be done tomorrow.  My hope is to work in the guest room and organize the office area as I may have a visit from Mama next month.

We talked late last week and her plans are to come east to see her friends in New England her family both in FL and NY.  At this moment the plans are up in the air as far as seeing her sister.  Marsha is quarantined at this moment in a nursing facility

Well, have a great night….

Crazy Day

Got to work and found out there was a major network upgrade going for the building.  It is not affecting remote work but for those who work in the office and the equipment and internet it does.   I have plenty of work for myself.  I will have to share with others until they get the okay to go home.  It was to last until 2 pm.  It had others annoyed because it’s wasting time for them.  They were told they would have used their time even if after they learned they have permission to go home.

I could use my phone for emails and texting.  Get to a few places on the internet but it was not easy.

I had VT help open mail until we got word to go home which came around 11.  I did some of the claim forms to mail and then began working on the rest of the mail from before the recess. When the call came I turned it down until I realized I couldn’t print anything or scan anything.  I decided to come home.

On the way home I was getting annoyed with the GPS because it wouldn’t take me to the Merritt parkway but to I-95.  I did manage another route called Route 34 which goes through west haven, orange and then to where I needed to get off.  Wht was really bothering me I think was the potential discussion with Liz about if and when it comes up.  I was thinking she would have said things like why couldn’t I have stayed?  The same things that Mom would have said if she were living,  I think Liz would have said you thought you were entitled to go home.  I expect she would make a few other comments of how lucky I am.  I have a feeling it would not end well.

Since I have been home I watched TV, had some coffee finished putting up the shower curtains I washed this morning.  I believe Miss Tiger had done her job in there.  It’s been a while since she did that particular ahem.

Every few days it seems Tiger craps on the floor or even in the shower stall.   (Yes I have been cleaning the box regularly)She is still not eating all of her food quickly but she has been eating Sky’s.  She has been sitting on the couch a lot and just as of last night sat on the recliner below Sky.  She does still come to the bed some nights.  She is limping and on occasionally knuckles but I try to get it flattened out.

Sky continues to hold his own.  He does try and eat Tiger’s dish but I have stopped him so many times I am hoping he has been doing it on his own.  There are some nights he has been vocal which has lead me to believe he has seen something or done something. He still sleeps on top of the recliner.

This afternoon I had my cardiology appointment and he says other than the weight I am fine.  He needs me to work on it.  It was down considerably from last time.  Hell it was down half a pound from last month.  I will see him in a year.

Tonight will be quiet.  I am trying to not watch too much TV.  I still have the second night of the sleep study to do.  It wasn’t bad either.  I have to bring it back tomorrow morning before noon.  I will do that after my infusion.

It was in the teens today for temperatures and they haven’t gotten any warmer. It will be cold for the next couple of days and cloudy the next two nights. Saturday will be cold and cloudy.  Will be burying myself under lots of blankets.

I am Thankful

This was post was going to be the last Thankful Thursday Post of 2021 but I didn’t do many of those this year either.  Needless to say I am thankful.

I ended up not doing much for the day except going to the store and picking up the prescription and some milk and a container of frosting.

I did some things around here and then got ready for the meetup.  Man it was stressful getting there.  It was raining but my vision was somewhat blurry and it felt like I was seeing things in three d.

For some reason Google maps didn’t take me straight to the diner.  It took me near Stephanie’s house (I clicked on Guilford link and it was in the middle of nowhere. Well at least for that area.   I was getting stressed.  I finally got to the dinner after 5:30.  PaulaJ, Gillion, Stephanie, and Jackie were there.  I told them what happened when I told Stephanie that I think I was near her house. Eventually Cyn and Steph’s Mom arrived and then spent the next two hours talking and eating.  It was fun.  I have to admit after eating I wasn’t feeling so hot.  I was starting to get ready to leave before them but ended up leaving when it was time.

It was drizzling when we left and kept steady all the way home.  There were only a couple of times where it was hard but the drive home wasn’t too bad.

When I got home the kitties were both sitting on their favorite furniture.  I got settled in and watched TV for a bit and then went to bed.  The cats followed suit.

The cats were indignant that I stayed in bed until 6 this morning.  Actually I was shocked I did myself.  I did wake up around 4:30 and noticed the cats were starting to move. When I got up I fed them and turned on the TV.  Some of my staples were still on but you can tell that it’s getting closer to the holiday again.

I went back to bed again for another couple of hours and since then did some TV watching, surfing the net and forcing myself to do cleaning I have been putting off.

This weather isn’t conducive to cleaning either. I just want to sleep. It’s about 44 degrees and cloudy and we might get some more rain later.

Well I might as well go tackle this stuff-slowly apparently.

Survived the Nor'easter

Well I would like to say the storm is over but we still have Gale force wind warnings and a wind advisory up until later this afternoon (I don’t know what the difference is but I am sure I will look it up later).  The rain started of course Monday night and kept going all day yesterday.  A few of my colleagues lost power during the day at their homes.  We didn't lose power at work (rats what a shame :)) and I don’t think we did in the condo complex either.

There were a few places that flooded on and I managed to avoid them or go through it slowly.  ONe was in New Haven near the SMilow Cancer Center and the other one was closer to home.  I decided to take route 1 home all the way so I could stop at Panera bread for a salad.

I was early for my Salad.  They seemed to not like the fact I was waiting after I said I may be early.  I don’t like that.  I almost left without it.  LUckily it didn’t happen.  I got the Green Goddess Cobb Salad.  It was delicious.

The rest of the night was a regular routine.  Fed the cats watched TV until maybe 7 or 8 and then decided to curl up under the covers. It was a bit cold despite turning the heat on. Before going to bed I checked in on Liz and Nel.  They both were fine.  No flooding, they had power, but neighbors down the street lost trees.   Both cats snuggled up on the bed with me for a while.

Tiger barfed in the living room.  I am not sure what that was about.  She also has hopped up on the couch with me a few times and not sure what to make of that.  I also noticed she hasn’t been finishing her meals.  Not sure if she is getting bored with it or not but I will be getting some new stuff soon as the canned food is almost out.  I am thinking urging her to eat her own food instead of Sky’s is helping either.  I still don’t think this means she is weakening or losing energy.  It did my heart good to find them both on the couch when I left.

When I got to work I asked many how they did and all of them said good or okay.  So that was a relief.  I have been scanning and did a couple of the cd uploads.  AC and DG are currently putting together the procedure for Scanning Appeals into McKesson.  At first DG didn’t understand what we would be doing.  She kept saying how she scans them to the staff member but now we will be scanning them to the individual patients' accounts.   I am not sure she will grasp this very well.  I am not sure I will understand it either but the way AC explained it today makes sense for now.

I never did have the meeting with President Margaret and I haven’t worked on the membership list.  I am just going to have to sit down and use excel for it.  That way it can update it that way.  We have the auction right before thanksgiving.  Tickets are $25 and I am just not going to be able to go.

The meetup tonight is at the Diner.  I am not sure how many are going to attend.  I am waffling back and forth about going.  I still haven't baked the bars yet for Saturday’s brunch and I am just not sure I want to wait until the last minute.  Gillion changed the venue to her house for the brunch because the weather isn’t supposed to be great.  There are supposed to be 27 in attendance..

I think I am also cancelling my DTC activities for tomorrow.  It was the phone banking and probably the meeting.  I want to concentrate on baking.   We will see.

My Friend Lisa is coming on November 13 for an afternoon visit.  She was supposed to come a couple of months back but something came up and so we postponed until now.  She wanted to come the 2nd weekend of November and we confirmed it today.  I will need to work hard to make sure the house is cleaned and I have something for us to snack on.

Well got to get back to work........be safe!

Road Trip & Wedding Day 10-1-21

 On the road by 9:30.

The cats are fed and watered and medicated.  Liz will handle tonight, tomorrow and Sunday morning.  This will be the first weekend away in two years (not counting Easter 2020).

For the last week I have been mulling over when was the best time to leave by using the google maps and scheduling and it gave a pretty good indication when I arrive if I leave before ten. My hope is to take the normal route I usually take to visit PA.  That includes the Merritt to 278 over the Cuomo Bridge (formerly Tappan Zee).  Then 78 to where my hostess is.  I took a brief stop there to see what it looked like then headed to Jim’s.  I was really early.

Admittedly I was concerned that Google was going to insist that I go to GW Bridge but it didn’t and took me over the route I remember over the years and once I was on on 287 I was fine.  I was surprised to find an additional electronic toll booth had been built and wasn’t expecting to be paying anymore  on the way down.  I do expect a couple of Toll by mail invoices arriving over the next few weeks.

I headed to Jim’s and was greeted by my soon SIL.  Who I didn’t recognize!  Really???  I was really embarrassed.  We hugged, chatted and from there got ready for the wedding.  I showered after Jim got my stuff out of the car.  The others got ready and visited with Jim.  I also got to see at least one of the kitties.

We left for the courthouse around 3.  We parked down the street in one of the many parking garages in the city.  I already regretted the shoes and stockings I chose for the outfit.  I learned that was also the location of Janis’s new Job.   She didn't’ give us a tour of the place but it's on the first floor.

We had to wait outside the courtroom and many more of their friends and family came out.  I got to see James R (my nephew).    We were brought inside and waited for a bit.  My niece emily arrived a little later and was standing in for her father while Janis’s daughter (who could have been Emily’s twin) stood for her.  It was a short ceremony and I only took a few pictures and asked the kids to send me some.

The weather: Beautiful and sunny.  Chilly at first and maintained it for most of the day. It was mostly in the sixties and sunshine.  It got a bit chillier as the sun dropped though.

After the ceremony we headed over to their friend Shawn’s home for the reception.  It was a beautiful home on W Tilghman and it was an oasis from the busy street out front.   It was light fare.  Sushi, pinwheel sandwiches, shrimp cocktail, shrimp tortellini, fruit and a home made cake.

We were there until 8 when I had received word it was time for me to check in.  My hostess was to go to a meeting (I realized later it was work) by 9:30.  I felt so much pressure and a little resentment for pushing it but looking back it was my own fault.  When I arrived the keys were outside where she said they would be.  It turned out she waited for me.  She helped me take my stuff to the room where I would be spending the next three days.  IT was quite simple.  A dresser, a wardrobe made of cloth.  A bed (the bed frame was exactly the same one I have in my bedroom.)

Once I got my stuff in and moved the car towards the front of the house Elan left for a meeting/work.  I got unpacked and got ready for bed. Elena’s kitty cat came and slept with me for the night.  It felt like I was home.

Not starting out too well

My Friday was fine until I was about to leave for work.  I discovered I had left my ID badge with my entire life in it.  Yep, license, debit, you name it.  I looked all over the house and in the garbage can, and in the car.  I drove extra carefully this morning.  I had to ask a coworker to let me in.  I was relieved when I found my ID stuff on the desk.  It is now in my bag until I need them, which will be when I need to use the copier or pick up mail at the front door.

I made a mess at dinner time last night, I was making scrambled eggs and I dropped the bowl inside the microwave.  Nothing broke but there was egg all over the counter and inside the micro.  I had moved some stuff and forgot the egg carton was still on the counter.  They landed on the floor.  Let’s just say in my frustration I made an even bigger mess.

The one bright spot is my neighbor Mim is home and doing fine.  I saw her aid yesterday who promised to have her stop by on their walk.  It never happened. Not sure if they did and I didn’t hear them or not.

It was a rather gloomy day yesterday. It rained a little in the morning with a little bit of thunder.  It was fairly cool as well mid 60’s or so.  I felt like I was dragging my heels and not getting all that I could do-done.  I am hoping I will be better at it today.

I heard from Liz today, she sent me some pictures of N3 and Olivia playing at the beach and having a shaving cream fight. :)  Luckily she didn’t ask me about the reservations.  I still have two weeks to do it.

Jim sent me the location of the wedding; it will be at the Lehigh county Courthouse and the ceremony will be about quarter to four.  I haven’t done the reservations yet for the Bed and Breakfast yet I have two weeks left but I also don’t want to do it at the last minute.  My hope is to get it done this weekend.

It's another overcast/cloudy day and is supposed to stay like that for the rest of the day.  It was 70 at lunchtime and supposed to be 76 at some point but it never got there.

The Eastern States Expo aka The Big E started today.  I am hoping in the next couple of weeks the girls (from the meetup) and I get to go.  I don’t foresee it happening.  Dave went today.

I spent the rest of the afternoon doing the refund scanning back up.  I had done one date but discovered just before I was leaving that the first batch had to be rescanned.  It didn’t take long but it delayed my trip home.

The ride back home was a little slow.  Probably normal fall Friday/weekend traffic, so I took it slow.  I stopped at Trader Joes and picked up appetizers for tomorrow’s lunch and future things for me.  I also got Spiced apple cider.

I heard from Gillion tonight we are meeting tomorrow at the Park and Go at 11 am.  She will be driving. I think this is going to be fun.  I have been trying to set a time line of when I should cook the appetizers.  It says one box should take 25 minutes but I have a couple of boxes and so I am never sure if it should be longer.

There doesn’t seem to be much on TV tonight and I have fallen asleep a couple of times already. So I am going to start laundry, the dishwasher, and get ready for bed and listen to the Profiles in Folk radio program.

Early Morning Coffee 09-07-21

I got up early and fed the best kitties ever.   I was relieved that there were no messes on the bathroom floor this morning.  So they got the appropriate praise.  They looked at me and waited to be fed.   I made some coffee first because I had gone to bed sometime after midnight I fell asleep in the middle of the star trek movie marathon.  It starts up later today so I may watch it.

I opened the windows already it feels nice.  I am not sure how long that’s going to last.  I noticed that a tree has already changed its leaves.  It was in the high 50’s by 7.  It was 80 degrees all day and sunny.

I took a look at the map and times for travel for the hike tonight in Vernon and  as much as I would like to go I would have to leave at 4 to get there on time (they are meeting at five thirty)  and I wouldn’t get home until  9:30.  I am not familiar with the area up there.

I know that in the Finding friends meetup I have been home later like being at Cyn’ house until 10 but I see them more often than I do the people in the hiking group.

I finally got a hold of LawyerBob2 and he has some good news.  It may not work out for me but there is a mechanism in place that allows us to force the Audit to take place.   It is at the discretion of the court of course but LawyerBob2 believes I meet the criteria.  He doesn’t recommend that I file a complaint to the Bar association because he could accuse us of Harassment.

The rest of the day I made pasta salad and I watched the Star Trek movie marathon on BBC.  I watched it until I fell asleep.

I did attend the committee meeting.  We have a couple of actions that are coming up but it looks like we will be ratifying the contract next month.

I did spend time with my neighbors.

The Storm last night was scary

Before going to bed last night there were several alerts for thunderstorm, tornado watches, and of course the flash flooding.  The Thunderstorm scared the cats for a little bit but that’s all.  Tiger went and laid down in the Livingroom so I sat with her for a bit.  Sky was under the bed and stayed there for a while.  I watched the news and it covered different towns that were flooding.

When I woke this morning I found the stove clock was flashing and the microwave had all zero in its display.  I am not sure why just those two things were affected because everything else was fine.

It was 60 degrees and cloudy and it looks like Ida is hitting Rhode Island and its outer Islands.  WE have flood warnings until Saturday.  The sun came out before ten.

I heard from the girls in the finding friends group.  Megan has standing water in the crawl space under her bedroom, Stephanie’s fur baby was terrified of the boomers but Stephanie slept well.

I sent a message to the three amigos.  I heard from Ann first.  I know Leslie may live near the beach and there was a street that was flooded near her. Mary says she is fine.

Around ten, I finally got to the house cleaning.  In my mind it’s not that messy but at the same time I know I haven’t done a few things.

Henri turned into category 1

TS Henri was raised to a category 1 Hurricane late Saturday afternoon.    I am sorry I thought it was hurricane from the minute it formed.  It rained here just before 6 but when I was talking to Liz earlier it was starting to rain there.

I took some stuff in and have yet to put it back where it belongs.  I will probably do that tonight when I get home.

I did go out and get a few more things before nightfall including ice.  I could probably use it to chill my milk or water. But I don’t know what else to sue it for.

Sunday morning it was raining semi hard and continued like that for the rest of the day.  AT times I noticed the wind picking up but not nearly enough as predicted or forecasted.   I was going to do the cleaning that I didn’t do Saturday.  I ended up doing nothing but watch TV and watch the non-storm outside.  It was pretty much over by 6 and that’s when Liz and I decided to take a ride around the beach area.  We already came to the conclusion the storm was a dud at least for us.

On Monday I read in patch.com that a local weather forecaster with Fox61 was attacked by a troll on social media.  She wasn’t the only one.  Sam Kantrow over on Channel 8 handled one as well.  I added my support to Ms Rachel adding.  I thought the storm was a dud but I didn’t go online and rip every weatherperson I follow a new one.   Unfortunately Social media allows this to happen.

After I read more and more support from her peers I couldn’t help but think or wonder if any of the peers would mention this incident on air (whether it was tv or radio) and then I felt that would be inappropriate but they didn’t so its nothing to even think about.

There was a beautiful full moon out Sunday night.

The Storm hasn't started yet

Technically the storm hasn’t started yet but we got alerts that would break your ear drums yesterday about the storm surge, wind and flooding on the phone.  At one point it looked like it was going to open up and pour buckets at work.  It didn’t though.   The sun was out for the rest of the day.

I stopped at Walmart and got some groceries.  I got bread, Milk, tea, Vinegar.  I couldn’t find the Baking soda I needed (they had the small ones).  I will go to Shoprite later and get the rest of the stuff I wanted or needed.  I also go some goodies.  You can’t be in the middle of a big summer storm without goodies.

I did get the chairs back in last night and had trouble with the umbrella but on the third try it worked.  I have to take the recycle out to the trash hut soon.  I put it out behind the flower pot because I wasn’t ready to go out in public.

I spent the evening relaxing and went to bed at ten.  When I woke up this morning I had no internet or cable until about 7:30.  If this is Optimum’s view on keeping us connected didn’t do a great job.  However, they may have been doing something to prepare for the storm so I will give them the benefit of a doubt.

So I am put zing around at the moment.  I started cleaning around 10 and started wth the bathroom.  I took my time.  I figured since I am not going anywhere today (no to the Oyster fest) I would take my time.

I found out that the complex has been known to lose power for a few days during storms.  Neighbor Mim’s daughter told me earlier today.  If that’s true I do need to move along with the cleaning because it will be a few days before I can vacuum again.

Late last week I decided to leave the two groups on FB that I mentioned in my previous entry.  It feels like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders.    I did feel that I wanted to know what was going on with the cable this morning but it didn’t last long.

I went out and gassed up the car and within minutes it got busy.  Several cars came also to get gas.  The roads seemed to be the normal busy for a Saturday but I did hear that the stores are crazy.   Well I really don’t think I need anything that much.

The latest word on the Hurricane is it will make impact tomorrow morning….

The Seasons they are changing

The temperatures were in the 60’s when I left the house this morning and by the time I got to the office it was in the 70’s.  More evidence that summer is almost over.  I held the belief I didn’t mind the seasons changing but what kid likes to come in from playing when it gets dark?  I wonder if parents back in the day did these kinds of things?  Truthfully I am sure we did stuff.    As I get older I don’t always like how cold it gets.  I also don’t like the oppressive heat either.

I am looking forward to the Oyster Fest in Milford in a couple of weeks.  It's fun, lots of food, and people watching.  I don’t buy anything (other than the food if at all) because I either don’t need, want, or can afford it.

I haven’t been to too many activities in town though for the reasons listed below.

It would be great if I got back into walking and hiking again but it doesn’t seem to be the case.  My walks have been infrequent to say the least.  I feel I have other things to do.    When I get home at night I want to relax and enjoy myself.    The weekends are focusing on the house and even then they get dragged out or I get lazy.

The hiking group I belong to alway have their hikes in the North eastern part of the state.  Depending on when they have anything on the weekends I would have to leave early to get there.

Oh Meetup.com updated their site. Navigationally it's different and it will take time for me to get used to.  I have to wonder what the others think of it.  Of course I probably could have left it the way it was on mine.

Work was a bit slow.  I didn’t do any daily scanning until mid morning.  It was about that time that I got 2 CDs to upload.  One will be going to the film library.  The rest of the time I did the refund backlog.

I can’t help worrying that the flow of work is going to dry up.  AC says she has enough to do.  We split the daily scanning between us and sometimes the CD’s don’t come regularly.    Right now we both work on the refund backlog as well as anyone else is.  I suppose there is plenty of that.  I shouldn’t worry as it will pick up again soon.

I was so pleased with myself.

I was so pleased with myself for getting Tiger to take her meds but this morning and late last night she didn’t take it at all and when I left this morning I gave her some wet food to hide (she eats around it now in the kibble) and I had to prevent Sky from eating it.  It was suggested to me to crush the pills up and put it in her food.  I am going to have to do that.  I am not sure how successful that will be.  I may have to separate them again as well.

It was 71 degrees when I left the house and was going to be in the 80’s but not as humid.  Overcast for the day but no rain is expected.  I think the rest of the week will be nice.

The office is a little quiet and not the full compliment that I have become accustomed to.  The scanning is light for the daily batches but I can do the refund batches if need be.  I am hoping to have some CDs come in too.

I got an email from the Patient access Manager asking me what the images were for one of the patient CD’s I uploaded on Friday.  REally?  That’s not my job. Why isn’t it showing up?  It showed up for me.   I ended up emailing her and letting her know what was printed on the CD’s and that was all she needed.

Tonight I have my session with Debra, then I will watch more of the NCIS marathon (this time it's on Oxygen) and do a little straightening up and then go to bed.

The rest of the week I have the committee meeting, and the Judge of probate convention, the meetup, and my infusion.  I just booked an oil change for the car on Wednesday.

Last Day of Vacation

Considering that today is my last day of vacation.   I am going to make sure things that were not done (housework mostly) are done...
