Mohegan Bus trip

It is after 6 am on a cool Saturday morning. I have been up for about forty-five minutes now. I have been on line for a while checking out my emails and forums. My outlook express is working perfectly after make the change that I got in the email yesterday.

Today is the day the bus trip to the Casino. It leaves the commuter parking lot by 3 and we won’t be back until probably ten. Mom is worrying about what I will have to eat up there. I told her not to.

Bob is coming over with his truck to take Mom to Costco to pick up a table and chairs for outside. He is supposed to be here around 10 and also fix the upstairs toilet. That’s great news because it has been a pain to use it.

It is now quarter of 9 and I have not done much of anything. Well I did work on the birthday list but I was referring to the ironing and going to the bank. Mom got up a little while ago and isn’t feeling well. She said she didn’t sleep well at all that she was getting sick during the night.

By 10:30 I was showered and on my way to the bank. I still had more ironing to do but I could do that when I got back from the bank. Mom and Bob didn’t leave for Costco until 11.

I had called Roberta to see if she was going to come to the casino with us and she couldn’t. Her friends couldn’t afford it and they had prior plans. Roberta and I had a chance to discuss Club business. We both want our association with MOM to be finished. I also told her that if Telka wants to have the accounting then I don’t see a problem with it this time.

I received emails from Telka one of them announced she passed her test and is relaxing now. Cool.

Well it is now several hours later and the bus trip was very good. I left here by quarter of three with a terrible headache and had already taken more ibuprofen. I got to the parking lot were the rest of the group was waiting for the bus. We even had our picture taken too. You will probably find it on the Milford Democratic Website within a week. I sat by myself but with others around me. I listened to some of the conversations but because the headache wasn’t gone yet and my stomach was not cooperating I rested. My neck flinched back at one point. By the time we got into Branford the headache was gone.

We got to the casino by 4:30 to 5 pm. I hung out with Mike and Tessa and we walked around to the food court. I had some Chinese food and then we walked around and found some tables and some slots.

Over the next several hours we walked and talked and played and lost. Mike didn’t do badly. We started running into the others of our group around 7. We decided to have dinner at the Cove (three restaurants in one). There was a concert going on in the Wolf’s Den. It was Morris Day and the Time. I guess he played with Prince. After dinner we played some more slots and then it was 9 or 9:15 that we stopped at a store (I was thirsty) and got soda. Then we walked over to the waiting area for the bus. After awhile many others came back. Our Bus was supposed to be there at 10. It was and then we headed home. There was a little traffic as we headed from I-695 to I-95 but it wasn’t too bad. We were at the parking lot by 11:15 and I was home five minutes later.

Mom was in bed reading and I guess waiting up for me. Aw how cute? I told her how the day went and what we did.

I have to admit my stomach still feels like it is going to lurch but I think it has to do with the food I ate too.

Tomorrow I have the bingo and church and hopefully some letters to write. See you then.

Went to Mohegan Sun today

Today Jennie and I went to Mohegan Sun for their breakfast buffet. I wanted to get up at 5 but because I woke up around 2 this morning I rolled over and stayed in bed until 6. I got showered and dressed and left by 7:05. It was dark and gray. Day break was just starting and the sun hadn’t risen yet. It was sprinkling just a bit.

As I was leaving I saw Sylvia and Boppie. They were doing their morning routine. Sylvia was telling me that our neighbor Marian suffered a mild stroke and was staying in a nursing home and will be going to her daughters in West Haven. She then talked about how Marian’s insurance was running out. Soon we had to say goodbye. Sylvia had to go to work and I knew Jennie would be waiting for me.

I got to Jennie’s house and went to the back door. She was playing with her kitty (can’t remember the name right now). It was really cute. We left and drove to the highway and by then the sun was coming out in between the clouds. We had no problems getting to the casino. We got there by 8:15 or 8:30 or so.

We parked in the Garage and headed to the buffet. We discovered it was in the other casino. There is two there. We probably could have parked closer but hey it was still fun. We had to stop and renew Jennie’s breakfast card and I got myself a player’s card. We then walked to the buffet. The lines were short and not bad.

We were seated at our table and we went on line. I ate mostly egg related foods. Scrambled eggs, Egg and ham on the English muffin (and yes I know there is another name for it but my mind is blank). I had breakfast burrito. Fruit filled pancakes (two small ones) European style hash browns, and some other type of potato. I also had roast beef, ham and corned beef. Actually I didn’t finish all of it.

We spent the next hour or so talking about work, family stuff and life in general. Afterwards we head to the slots. We ended up near the buffet and I had to pick the one with smoking allowed. We sat at these games and played for a while. I managed to win some money but Jennie wasn’t having any luck. At one point I had almost $60 in coupons and then I played a little bit more and managed to finally get the $40. Jennie tried another machine and still no luck. I was going to start the one next to her but we decided to go looking around.

We got a camera because I wanted to take pictures of the various displays. We stopped at Odyssey and The Discovery Channel Store and the Yankee Candle Factory and then we to Imus Coffee shop. We then got ready to go. We took a few more pictures and then walked to the car.

By then the sun was out and it was beautiful. The drive was very pretty light. The hour went by pretty well. Traffic seemed to build a little by the East Haven area. I think we got to Jennie’s house a little after 1:15 and then I was home by 1:30.

Mom was in Hartford at her meetings by then. The mail was on the table and I saw that I got some labels from GFWC and a holiday card from Sherri Redinger. I also noticed we got a card from Cheryl and her family. Mom is not ready to open them so we will later.

Since I have been home, did some email reading and forum reading and watched some TV. Around 3 the sky changed and the sun went behind the clouds. It got colder. I did vacuuming downstairs and up the stairs and the hallway. Tomorrow I am going to vacuum the bathroom and my room.

Apparently Jessica Vampyre had a bad morning and started swearing and several people on the “nameless” list objected. Some didn’t make a big deal. Heather Collins I remembered demanding the moderator doing something about it.

I think I am going to lie down for a bit. At least until Mom gets home. I am not sure what time she will be ehre. I have a feeling she will be home by 5.

Last Day of Vacation

Considering that today is my last day of vacation.   I am going to make sure things that were not done (housework mostly) are done...
