A regular mail day

Even though today was a federal holiday and the post office was closed the mail volume seemed to be like any other Monday. It was mostly insurance and legal correspondence. The US mail was from the clinics and lower in volume. I was able to get that all done and the lobby mail from Friday and the weekend. I kept checking with Finance to make sure all the mail was available to me and it was. I was talking to Joanie today and talked about how concerned I was for my job. I don’t like conflict and I was trying very hard today to stay out of SR’s way and not give her any ammunition that could cause problems with it. I even gave her a “what if” scenario. What if Gayle was no longer working here or could no longer work? I didn’t want to let on that’s exactly what was going to happen come the autumn. I did get a little teary eyed and Joanie gave me a hug and told me not to worry. DK and RW both came back today after their bout with the Stomach flu. They both know and understand it was...

Full Sunday

It is after 8 and I am tired. I went to bingo and had a small group today. Jillian came in today. We did pretty well. The residents that usually go to church split this time. One didn’t and the other did. After bingo I went to church. I ran into some old friends from the club and they are doing well. I was home after 12:30. I couldn’t find my cell for a bit. When I did I had a number of missed calls. The only thing is I looked in my car already but didn’t find it. The Woman’s Club Board meeting was cancelled because of the weather. So I decided to get ready for Dave’s party. That too had been cancelled a second time and if I had taken the time to listen to the entire message I would have known that. Dave and I talked and we decided to get together anyway. It was nearly two by then. Once I got there we talked about the “curse of his parties”. It almost never fails to have bad weather in where it has to be cancelled or no one shows up. We ended up having the eggs and...

I saw frost this morning

As I made my way to the car this morning I found it covered in frost. It didn’t take long for it to defrost and by the time I was on the highway it was completely gone. The sun rise made for some a difficult ride. Happily nothing happened. I made it to the office on time. Most of the day was very cold. I know this because most everyone who went out told me. I found out myself walking to Debra’s office. Today a number of people seemed to be in a bad space. They were not feeling well, they were cranky and overwhelmed. I know I was beginning to find myself overwhelmed when a couple of people asked me about the mail that was there. I knew I had to at least attempt to get it out of the office. I did a little of it before going to Debra’s. I still have to finish the lockbox and the postage tally for today. Claudia promised to have the mail job document for me by tomorrow. I was having problems getting it made myself. By the time I left for Debra’s my leg/knee was giving me tro...

A beautiful windy Saturday

Today was an absolutely beautiful day. It wasn’t humid at all. There was a beautiful cool breeze for most of it. I spent the morning at the office scanning the first 5 hours and for the last hour I did some mail. The reason I only spent five hours on scanning is both Annette and Frank came in and they both need to do scanning. The last I did some readdressing and washed dishes. The afternoon was fairly quiet. I updated files and got rid of emails that were really old. I made some phone calls and then got ready for dinner. Dinner was with Dave. We agreed we would meet at 6. However, we never talked about where we were going to meet. By the time we were going to go out I had called him like five freaking times. He acted put upon. First of all we didn’t discuss where we would have dinner so trying to decide the aspects of picking up were at least frail. We had dinner at Jeffries a Restaurant (that’s its entire name) on New Haven Avenue heading towards the center of town. It ...

We had a pretty good time yesterday

Just have some time to write before getting ready for bed. Today was rather busy with everyone getting ready to leave for the trip back to Allentown and me off to bingo and church. Mom and I went to the Shiva for Senator Gayle Slosberg’s Father this afternoon. We had missed the mini service but we stayed until 8 and to me felt like a wake. Mom will probably go tomorrow for the Tessa had given us a little insight at the district meeting as to what to expect. I also remembered what Donna Grossman said to me earlier in the week. I got a call from the garage yesterday. The water hose is leaking and the timing belt needed to be replaced as well. The labor is what is going to kill me I think. In total it will be $650.00. He said that it would be Monday or Tuesday by the time it was ready. I called Dolette and asked her for a ride and she said she would pick me up but wasn’t sure what time. In between waiting for everyone to get ready and to arrive for the convoy I spent a lot of tim...

Early Morning for Us

Mom and I had an early start to our morning. We were both up by 6. Mom had to be ready to leave the house after seven to speak in Hartford at a hearing and I had to be at Mike and Roberta’s to feed Junior before going to work. Mom spent the entire day up at these hearings and didn’t get home until 4:30. I was at work all day and met with Debra after work. We are both extremely tired and I think I am fighting a cold. I just took some Nyquil. My day was pretty good. I worked on stuff I wasn’t able to finish on Friday. While I was waiting for the lockbox to arrive I did some scanning at LG’s spot. She had the morning off and came in after her appointment. I was sort of surprised considering she was telling me on Saturday that she may not come in at all. I called Mike M from Beth-El today and confirmed the date for our dinner at the shelter. It will be April 6th at 6 pm. He was very appreciative of this because apparently other than what the shelters provide no other groups do a...

It was beautiful out today

Aw man you should have been here in Milford today. It was absolutely beautiful today. It was sunny and in the mid to upper 40’s today. I think it was in the 30’s at the beginning of the day and when I started for Mediplex it was a bit chilly but when I came off the highway after church the sign read “44 degrees” when we drove by it again later on it read 47. That’s almost 50 degrees. I even went without a coat for a short time. Today went well despite the fact there were some annoying moments with Mom but I will get into that later. When I left here in the morning Mom asked me about an email with information about the benefits of Bingo or something. She wanted me to share with Natalie. I haven’t yet. She started to criticize and get all pouty because I didn’t. This didn’t bode well for me and I knew it. When I came back from Bingo/church she wanted to make her weekly complaints. The first was not rinsing one of the containers before putting it in the dishwasher. The second was leaving ...

President's Day

Yesterday was President’s Day. It was designated the day all the President’s that were born in February are remembered and celebrated for their accomplishments in our history. Some places have the day off (Yale doesn’t). There will be no mail (just like I mentioned yesterday) banks will be closed as well. Many families will be or have already for things for the kids to do for the day. Many students have off this week. Work was going along pretty smoothly. We all got a big scare shortly after Gayle arrived. She became ill and we were not sure if it was a stroke or what. I was so upset because I felt guilty I didn’t do enough when she walked in. I could sense something wrong. She was taken to the hospital and checked out and by the end of the day was released from the hospital. By the end of the day I was exhausted. I went to my session with Debra and we discussed that and the previous week’s events. The session went by quickly. When I left it was after 5 and the sun hadn’t...

I was thinking

I was thinking yesterday that I have noticed in the last couple of days I was slipping back into some old habits. For example I haven’t made my bed since Saturday. The whole point of me waking up at five is not to turn over and go to sleep for an hour more. It is to get up and make the bed, have breakfast perhaps, get online for a bit and most importantly get ready for work without rushing around. I have caught myself leaving my desk a little cluttered. I didn’t like it. It was a small mount of papers and not neatly either. I have since rectified it by throwing out the papers I have gotten the information from it. I have organized the piles to a neater way. Now I make sure that if I take something out or have dropped it on the floor to pick it up and put it away. In the Blue room where most of my work clothes and special occasion clothes are in the wardrobe or even the back of the door found themselves on the bed after being in the laundry. I made myself take the time and hang t...

The Kids Birthday Party

Good Morning I just finished posting yesterday's entry and now I am just going to check the laundry. Later this morning Mom and I will be going to Audrey and Jason’s combo birthday party at their house. I was able to get their cards and gifts (just money) ready yesterday as well. I also got some cards for Adam. One is a belated birthday card (yeah I know shameful) and one congratulatory card. I was talking with Nelson yesterday and he told me Adam passed his Connecticut Bar Exam! He will find out in a few days if he passed the NY State bar exams. After Mom showered and went to the store I continued to move the laundry along, showered, and recorded and shredded documents. We left a little after 11 and arrived at the house 20 of 12. We were the second people to arrive. Stephanie’s Mom was out back with Stephanie and the kids playing on the little Tykes. After awhile more people came. They included my cousins the Hebert’s, Liz and Nelson, and my ex brother-in-law and his sig...

An Excellent Day!

I had a great time at the season ender party. I got there close to 12:30 and got into eating. More and more people came afterwards including the babies. Oh there were so many little kids there and so adorable. My cousins Bob and Donna C and Bob and Donna H all came for a visit as well. I got to see many friends and Nelson’s family as well. Donna H was telling me how life is in Salzburg NC. She also was telling me how things are with her sister and BIL and their family. I was there until after 5. Mom left before me. When I got home I took in the clothes I had out on the line and Mom was cleaning the ceiling fan. I came upstairs and folded them and did some computer stuff. I also spent time watching TV and then helped Mom with a few more things. I also spent time watching the POTC. Mom told me some very sad news last night it seems that Chris and Stephanie have separated and have been for about a month now. I guess Chris took Mom aside and went for...

Going Apple Picking Today

Good Morning! I am leaving in 15 minutes with Dave to meet Mary and her sons at the restaurant for lunch and then go to the Orchard. I suspect we will also do the Corn Maze. That should be fun. Not really but what the hay. Hey everyone I am back. It has been a long day. Dave didn’t get here until around 11:15 and we had to wait a bit because Mary was still at church. I told Dave they should have said this originally. I mean I could have done bingo if I tried and also went to church. I was going to go at 8:30 but by the time it came time I didn’t. We started off at 11:30 and headed to the Meeting place while we were driving Mary called and said she would not be getting there until 1. So we made a few side stops. (Now that I am writing this so late I can’t remember what order they were.) They were Dunkin Doughnuts, Vinnie’s garden shop they all didn’t take very long. Mary and the kids were just ordering when got there (we had no trouble finding it). It was in a lovely place on Route 66. ...

A good Day again

It is lunch time and I just had mine a little earlier than I should have. The reason for it is I am leaving here at 2:30 for my eye appointment. I want to make sure I get things done before I leave. Despite the gloomy weather (it’s been raining all morning and will be through out the day). Today seems to be a good day. I am getting a lot done but still need to do a few things. I am not sure I will be able to get to it. I talked with Mom today. She was just getting in from a meeting she had this morning. I don’t know what else she has today. I figure paper work and thank you notes are on the agenda. Well I now have 23 minutes before I leave. I need to clean up and make my way to the eye doctor. I hope I have enough gas. I do this to myself all the time. I knew I should have gotten yesterday!!! AT least this morning.

Busy Monday again

Hey all it is just before midnight and I was heading to bed. Today was a very long day. I got to work at a good time but jumped right into work. I did make a few stops on the internet highway but managed to get stuff going. I finished Friday’s mail and sorted it and delivered it as well as Thursday. I wasn’t able to open today’s lockbox but I did get the post office started. One of the reasons for that was because I had so much individual readdress mail to get delivered that I spent a good part of the day doing it. I was having a hard time concentrating on the bad addresses too. I did manage to make calls for the club. I got a hold of the Beth El shelter and scheduled a dinner for February 7th but as I thought about it and when I got an email from Telka realized it wasn’t a good date. She suggested that I make it for March between the 13th and 20th. I will have to call him back tomorrow. I am still waiting on the ARC person to call me back and set up the club to sponsor a blood drive. ...

Many Thoughts

I have so much going through my head right now. I did not get a chance to write at all while at work. Although I found time to get online a few times. I left here a little after 7:15. Mom was just getting up and having coffee and about to get ready fro her meeting at Bridges. The drive in wasn’t bad at all. Well maybe when I was pulling into the parking spot. One car was coming at me and didn’t look like he was going to stop. Thankfully he did. I kvetched about it to someone. I got to the office a little before 8 and managed to pick up the mail from Customer Service and Registration. I even took some to Registration. The day went pretty well. I started off with the charts and there were like 32 (I counted them) MR. Mike from Gofor had to bring them in two totes (the long ones that look the chests you bring to college. I sorted them and delivered them. While I was sorting Arcenia brought me the lockbox for today. It wasn’t bad but would have to until I did yesterday’s post office mail. ...

Long Day

Well my day started out around quarter of 6. Mom got up too. We got ready for our day at the Oyster Festival. We had to be there by 7. I think I left around 6:30 quarter of 7. I parked the car at the office and headed down to the food court. I arrived t here to find no one at our tent. We were stationed near the end of the Food Court area. After a while people began arriving. others had to deal with their tents filled with water. THe storm that passed through during the night was pretty strong. When more and more people started to come we started setting up the food preparations. Mom came after a while. For the next two or three hours we cut the vegetables and stuff like that. Around 10 I headed up to the other booth in front of New Standard Institute to man the booth there. I was there for a while I had to put on my jacket because it was very windy and chilly until mid day. Kerri came alittle after ten after some activities she participated in and we walked around fo...

I can't sleep

It is after 12:31 and I have not been able to sleep. I have tried several times. I even had to turn off the Native American Music. I was hearing the same music for the fourth time last night. I have also watched TV, updated calendars, and the birthday lists. I should probaby try warm milk but it usually doesn't work for me. Oh man, I just read a blog entry where a girl from the states living in Switzerland had to cancel her membership from a gym here in the states. It kicked me in the head to cancel my thing from the Y. I haven't gone in sooo long. I need to do that this week. I am not sure I can do it tomorrow. Okay will work on the birthday list and try to get back to sleep... Well it is now lots of hours later. I finally went to sleep and slept in until 6:15. I did hear the alarm go off but I just turned over and the next thing I knew it was after 6:30. I bathed and got dressed. I did get online and found a reply from a JG in regards to the Whack Isle. I told him of my exper...

I have a feeling

Something tells me I am going to have a very strange week. Last night I was checking emails and I noticed I got one nearly a week ago from Telka asking me not to tell anyone about her recent Health scares. I was sitting at my desk trying to think if I told anyone in the club. I can’t remember if I did. I am wondering if anyone said anything to her. I reset all my groups that I have assigned to the AT&T email back on individual emails. I posted the entry and I had a great reply from Mardi. J They had snow flurries and would melt away. The same way it has done down here. She also told me the radio station she listens to. Unfortunately when I responded I got an error message which was pissing me off. I hope this doesn’t keep happening. I got a message informing me that Jennie left my group. I sent her a short message asking her if she is okay. I don’t know if she got it I might have to check the myspace.com site to see what’s going on. Well it seems she is having prob...
