Found the Transfer Station

I found the transfer station with little to no problem except the GPS or phone went away from the map but still gave me instructions and I had to stop and reset it to the map.  I got to see some part of the town I haven’t seen in a while and it’s pretty for an industrial/rural area.  It didn’t take long and but I learned where things go.

On the way home I called Dave.  He kept me company until I got to the dry cleaners.  He questioned why I was coming from the transfer station especially if I could have the Veteran’s Organization come by.  Why couldn’t I have waited until the bulk pickup in two weeks?  I told him I needed to do it.

He told me on his way to with JimK he was caught up in the traffic block on the highway yesterday.  He hadn’t heard it was going to happen.  I knew it happened.  I think it was on Facebook or heard about it this morning on the news.  Neither of us really called it what was but it was to protest the murder of Mr. Floyd.

He did echo the question that must be on everyone’s mind.  The police officer has been arrested, and charged what else do they want to have happen?  I said good question.  I agree.  The man was arrested those who were complicit in the act were also charge.  What do you want them to do?  I agree protesting but not when endangers other’s lives.  Blocking traffic on a major highway like it was done on 95 and route 8 will not garner any support.  It will garner anger and disgust.  If you want better laws then you must write your legislators, write petitions, but don’t destroy what others have built or worked for their whole lives.  You make yourselves look worse than those you hate.

I was able to get my “Faux’ fur coat and they were able to get rid of the smell and it didn’t get ruined.  I dropped off my cape and then headed to Boston Market on route 1.  I got herb garlic encrusted chicken with broccoli, and corn.  I also had the corn bread.  When I got home I put the coat away chatted with Livia while she was making my bed and then I went and ate my “brunch” outside.

I had to eat it quickly because it was just a little too windy and every time I put something down it started to blow away.   So I finished it inside and watched TV.  Unfortunately, it didn’t stave off the hunger noises so I made salmon.  That took care of things until I had dinner.  I made pork loin and vegetables.

Livia finished just before 12:30 and did a wonderful job.  She will be back in two weeks.  She was telling me her daughter wanted to participate in the protests.  Her mother was okay with it but her father not so much.  He was afraid it would get dangerous for his daughter.  It was an interesting story.

The rest of the day I haven’t done much.  I watched the NCIS marathon on Oxygen season 8 episodes. I got on the computer, and tried a nap.

Supervisor sent out a message regarding a class we were supposed to have and it wasn’t done.  Luckily Lauren wrote back that it had been cancelled due to shut down.  I did send him an email saying I would reregister when I got back into the office or do it before but I would need VPN.

Late this afternoon I was pleasantly surprised to find a box from amazon and it was the battery for the laptop.  It’s in now and I will have to use the adapter charger very soon.  I hope the battery will be lasting longer than an hour.  I looked it up and I have read that indeed it can last an hour up to 6.  Time will tell.  At least there isn’t some silly message as I turn it on for the day.

It is almost 8 and the sun is on the western horizon.  It has been cool today and it still is.  I may have to close the windows again like last night.  It was far too cold and when I put the blanket over sky he never objected. The rest of the week is supposed to be in the 70’s and 80’s and maybe rain next weekend.

I may watch the NCIS Marathon for another hour then go to bed.

Today is Bulk Trash Pick up

Every summer the city of Milford has bulk pick up. Every six weeks I believe the last time for the year will be either Sept or October. It is the time where people can empty out their garages, their attics, their basements of things they no longer need or want. Everyone starts collecting it and putting it out to the curb two weeks before the date of pick up.

During that time potential junk collectors come through and pick through and see if there is anything worth getting. They are freaking morons. They break stuff, they just leave stuff all over the place and make it a mess. After all the time and effort that the homeowners put it out there neatly.

I hate when this happens. I so can't wait for the final one of the year....

Well it is now just before 11:30 and I am working on today's mail. The lockbox was pretty lite so I am taking the rest of yesterday's and putting it with today's. I am confident (or delusional) that I will be caught up once again and can be a little more relaxed for the rest of the week.

I talked with Mom this morning and she was just getting ready to do some stuff. The truck and crew for bulk pick up came early (around 8:30) and woke her up. Shitheads. I had called her earlier but she didn't answer we are not sure why she didn't hear the phone. I am thinking maybe I dialed the wrong number. We talked about her plans and about dinner.

More and More information about the Home invasion has been coming out. Two men who were captured shortly after the fire and the crime were apparently in the same halfway house in Bloomfield. They really tortured the girls and made the mother go to the bank with one of them to take out money. They both have very long records. The Father is recouperating in Waterbury Hospital. The town and churches in Cheshire are providing counseling for those who are in shock and mourning. The two men have 15 million dollar bonds and that is supposed to be the largest bond ever. The women's autopsies were done in the last two days as well. It is indeed very sad.

Well it is almost 3. I haven't finished the lockbox but I do have a couple of piles of eobs to sort which I am going to do now.

It is after 9 and I am heading to bed I am tired and don't feel well. The Dentist appointment went fine no cavities. came home had dinner spaghetti. I had bread I didn't know was moldy and wormy. yech. Mom told me that when she was getting her dinner together. We got it at Trader Joe's on Saturday and the date was "by before today". That's just not right.

The recycle stuff is out and ready to be picked up.

Last Day of Vacation

Considering that today is my last day of vacation.   I am going to make sure things that were not done (housework mostly) are done...
