Been So Long

It’s been so long since I last actually posted any of my blog entries this week.  I keep saying I will go back over them and finish them and then post but then more time goes by and gets away from me.

The house and condo situation:  Well Liz and I have been making a lot of progress with clearing out project.  We managed to get the cellar cleaned out with the help of a friend of hers and of my BIL.  Made several trips to goodwill and made a trip to the dump.  Some of the things that are left will be going to friends and family.  In the weekend coming up I believe we will be working on the Attic and then bedrooms, and then office and then finally the kitchen and dining room.

Jim will be speaking to “He who will not be named” by Labor Day and apprising him of the progress.  I am told that Liz suggested that Jim also discuss perhaps begin the process of having “he who will not be named (the lawyer)” removed as the trustee and perhaps make my siblings the trustees.   It would involve some of the proceeds of the sale of the house to do that.

My Niece has been searching for prospects and has brought to my attention as recent as yesterday of five potential places.  Three are about 4 miles away.  Another one I have looked at before and is close to my sister and to the Nursing home I used to volunteer at.  Another one is 9 minutes northwest of here.  Near what is known as route 1 and in between Orange and Milford.

My hope is we can look at them this weekend.  I have also let her know that I would be willing to take time off from work to go looking as well.  She says evenings and weekends would be best for sellers and we will do the best.

Jim will be coming up in the next two weeks (to help I hope) and to pick up stuff I have collected for him to take into possession.

Finances or budget:  I am constantly reworking the budget I have and been doing better without using the credit cards (all but one has been shredded).  Jim told me in our last phone conversation that if this method isn’t working for me (using only one in emergency) that  can always request new ones to be ordered.  As of right now the minimum payments are being made.  It has been suggested to me to look into consolidation loans from the credit Union I belong to.  When I suggested this to my Brother and Sister they both had reservations on this.   I will try again with J when he comes up.

Health:  With all that is going on I am managing to get exercise through the clearing out of the house (who needs weight lifting when you can haul heavy objects and items up and downstairs and to cars etc.).  I have been walking at least once a day at work weather permitting.

I have had some doctor visits recently that went well.  The hematologist last week liked the numbers from recent blood tests.  I had my infusion earlier this week and another next month.  I have a dermatology appointment, pulmonary, also next month.

I haven’t seen the inside of the gym since last Saturday but keep saying maybe later or tomorrow.  I haven’t signed up for classes because by the time I get home at night I am tired and now that we are beginning the in person search for condos I won’t have time.

Work:  The issues with DCS scanning have been finally resolved and yesterday began the scanning.  It was about access and the staff that worked on it was taking their time.  Now that that has been resolved I will now have to rearrange my daily routine with these things.

Shadow and I are about ready to have it out before she goes on vacation.  She has been speaking rather rudely to me of late and I am done.  I had told her supervisor today before I left.  I also told my on-site team leader.  She has been barking orders to me regarding mail and I really need to remind her that we may not be each other’s boss but I am the mail lead.  I need to ask questions on whether or not things came in.  WE are having a chat about what I will do while Shadow is gone.  We were already given instructions about certain things (I can scan documents to people it was a challenge I have met).

As a matter of fact starting next month TRS department/ courier service will be doing the mail runs.  One of the reps will be delivering mail that hasn’t been delivered by the other service later today.  It really should have been given to them from the very beginning.

The negotiations are going along.  Some new proposals from the union have been submitted and now they are waiting for counter-proposals.  WE have a rally later today for the Omni hotel unions.  They are our sister unions and the corporation not hiring back from the pandemic.  The recent negotiation updates are not being made public yet.

I did let the committee know I have personal issues that will conflict with activities with the union.  They managed to get me to volunteer for this activity today.

Family updates:  Earlier this week the anniversary of Mom’s death.  We didn’t make much of it but it was felt by me because of the current situation and the fact I was stressing out with Liz at one point.

We finally had a family reunion via zoom on my mother’s side of the family recently.  There were 12 of us.  Some came late but it was great.  They were told of my plans to move.  No criticisms or judgements just curiosity.

My Niece’s future DIL lost her Grandmother yesterday so in addition to the final preparations and countdown to the wedding they have to prepare and navigate through the funeral process.  This may not be appropriate in this item but said wedding invitations came in the mail today.  I am looking forward to this.

All of Liz’s kids are getting ready or have returned to school this week amid various groups expressing concerns about the plans or the validity of the plans for the return to school in Connecticut.  Some teachers want it done differently, Parents, Bus drivers also express concerned as well.

Jim’s kids are doing well.  Kristian is working, Emily is working, and James has returned to school and started classes.

Angel Brother’s kids are doing well.  As I said earlier I am expecting D&R to come up and get the remaining dishes from her collection. John has moved to Fayetteville to the Army base.  Rob is…well Rob.

The Kitties: I keep thinking they don’t understand what is going on around here with the cleaning.  So every chance I get I tell them we will be starting a new adventure.   When anyone comes they hide or sleep. They have been sleeping and hiding in weird places (weirder than usual).  Furniture they haven’t slept on at all they now sleep on.  Sky is currently grooming himself (note to self-expect hairball).  They are primary concern during the condo hunt/house cleaning.  I have been told they don’t react well to change.  Well most cats generally don’t like change.

I am not letting them down in the cellar anymore after I broke some class punch servers.  I cleaned it up when I dropped them Wednesday but there were some remnants of it left.

My Volunteering activities:  With the Corvid 19 pandemic (or post pandemic) continuing there hasn’t been much going on.  At least from where I see things.  There haven’t been many meetings either on line or in person.

I did contact my 4th District chairman and another friend from the district yesterday and told them of the plans to put the house on the market.  I am expecting an email in my inbox tomorrow morning from at least one of them.  The election is more than 9 weeks away.  Aside from the primary I have not received any alerts for campaigns or volunteering.

The Ladies Guild is supposed to start next month.  What have I heard? Not a thing.  I ran into Tori who is the Religious education coordinator for the church, and school at the grocery store and she eluded we won’t be able to have food at the meetings.  There hasn’t been anything in the bulletins or anything like that.  I will have to email the new president and ask her what’s going on.  I will also tell her the plans for the house.

I am getting the distinct feeling that the Recreation Director at the nursing home isn’t going to call me back anytime soon.  Actually I am okay with that.  It was time for me to move on anyway.

The Weather: Its been sunny for the most part until yesterday when we had some severe thunderstorms and tornados.  North Haven, Hamden, and New Haven were hit pretty bad.  I can agree to that as I left the office yesterday.

Well it’s nearly 3 in the morning and I will be getting up in a couple of hours to get ready for work.  So I will check in later today.

So Glad Friday is over

I got up early and did our normal routine.  Took my time getting ready for work but managed to leave earlier than normal but still ran into traffic.  Took the side roads and eventually made my way by the hospital in New Haven. I was waiting at  the worst intersection mind you some numbskull walks against the light.  I had to slam on the breaks.  He knew I was yelling at him and he was kind enough to flip the bird at me.  He was still walking in the same direction I was driving and I was yelling “I hope you die”.  He didn’t see me but he really scared the heck out of me.

Work was okay.  It was supposed to be scanning day but as usual finished the mail from yesterday and worked on refunds (preparing to mail them).  ARound 10:30 I headed over to the scanning and spent the next several hours over there.  Managed to get about 35 batches scanned.  We have a small amount of “Older stuff” to do and then we will start working on newer stuff.  The mail delivery for the day came late.  So M couldn’t or didn’t do much of it.  I told the SR and didn’t get overly upset. So I will be doing it Monday.

AT Lunchtime I went for a walk.  STopped at The little Salad Shop and got a (what else?) salad  It was their Green Salad.  (if you look on GRubhub the menu is there).  It had Lettuce, avocado, broccoli florets, Mesclun, tomatoes, and bean sprouts.  It came to just $8 and change.

Well it looks like we are no longer having the district meetings in my home.  An email went out went out from Chairman phil asking for views (privately) qualifying that people also liked how it was currently.  Well as the morning progressed several people flagrantly disregarded the section that said “send only to Phil”.  The first two explained it because it's “Understandable that the host wants to control what happens in her home” it is against the charter.  It is supposed to be open to the public.  Of course several others expressed questions as to why.  Of course explanation were given.  I have acquiesced to having it at the Woodmont borough as well because even though I am trying very hard not to take it personally it still hurt.

You see i firmly believe that when you come for meetings in homes you conduct yourself respectfully (including not yelling, bullying and general rudeness).  I have told them recently that if this conduct continues I will ask them to leave.  Well I have been told (not by people in the committee who should have said something) that according to certain rules for any political governmental meetings held in a home no longer is the homeowners but a place of meetings.   I don’t know what genius  came up with that shit but I feel it is wrong.  Some people within the committee agreed but I did get other’s views and they are of the same view as I am.

I did ask the secretary for the full DTC for the charter and she will be sending it to me.  I also bought and just received today the 11th edition of Robert's rules of order.  Some of these people want things done a certain way then (like adding to the minutes and revising them before the next meeting ) I am going to look through and notate the proper way of asking for revisions.  Also trying to read this is difficult at best.

Saturday was spent fairly quiet.  I hadn’t slept well from the night before.  Between stewing about the emails and the choices (and not taking it so personally) and trying to stay up to d other things I have been putting off.  I finally got to sleep by 5.

I got my mani-pedi done in the morning and it was quite lovely.  It was a good couple of hours and I enjoyed it.  I chatted with the Maria who is wonderful and did an awesome job.  When I left I went to the pet store next door.  There was one angora cat and then all the pups..They were so cute.

Today has been quiet and finishing the laundry.  This afternoon is bingo, visit sis, and church.  Then probably vegetate for the rest of the day.

Liz came home from SC late thursday afternoon.  She had a great time.  Laughed hard and just enjoyed her grandkids.  Yesterday she went to Madison’s 2nd birthday.  Like I said I will hear all about the trip and party later.

This coming week is what else busy.  INside of work there is the regular committee meeting, and a retirement party for a dear friend/coworker.  I have a 4 appointments this week, dentist, hemotologist, and my sessions with Courtney, and Debra.

Next weekend is the Oyster festival.

I would have been pissed

Yesterday would have been a bad day if my computer's decided to bail on me.... The laptop acted wonky and I turned it off and had to reboot it.  I have a feeling it was doing a few updates.  If it didn’t work itself out in time for the meeting last night I would have been really out of sorts.  I can’t write and take notes well by hand Luckily by the time I was ready to go they were both working. One of the problems is ink for the PC in the bedroom.  I will have to get some this weekend.

The meeting went fine until the end when had to vote in a third new member and review candidates intentions to run for office.  Especially when one has not been actively involved enough for some members.  As a result one committee  member has announced she is resigning because of others manipulation and bullying.  The meeting ended just about 10 but I stayed until 11 to discuss the events and to convince the person to not resign.  Hopefully she won’t and things will get better.  Aw crap she just sent the email resigning. She has two responses already to the email (I was one of them).  Earlier this afternoon I received a phone call from a committee member (eco girl) wanting to ask me about last night.  I don’t really want to get into it with her.

I did send committee chairman an email to update the member list and make it as accurate as possible.  I have to add the three people's names that we voted on.  I called Phil after hearing the message and talked with him about it.  The gist of it was ask her to call him.

Landlord Maria’s house is busy with workers updating and renovating and movers all weekend.  On Friday I saw People on the roof, people moving stuff in, and this morning a truck just delivered something.

I got a text from J last night it seems he may not stop here after all tonight.  He says he will call later to let me know but he is thinking of driving right through from New Hampshire (where he visited our cousins) to home.  Really?  I don’t think that’s wise but it's his decision.  Especially after he asked me in May if he could do this.  He called me around 1 and left a message and apologized for wavering on this but he may not be stopping by.  I still think it's a bad idea.

We had rain this morning but it stopped around 9 and the sun came out .  It got humid .  The really funny thing is as I was heading to Orange it got cloudy and poured for about 10 minutes and by the time I was finished at the bank it was over with.

My peapod delivery arrived just about 10 and I got everything.  I have already taken the AIRBORNE, crystal light, and steak, and a little OJ.  I put away everything and as soon as i could.

I had a nice time at the salon.  Before I went in I stopped by the pet store and saw the new puppies and they are adorable.  Some are new from my last visit.  I can’t begin to go through the list of breeds.  I wanted to take them home but Sky and Tiger would object fiercely.

When I made my way over to the salon Karen and Kathy were the only people and there were three or four customers.  The receptionist Mary Ann was in Florida closing on a house.  I later found out she will be moving down there with her husband.  Karen is going to have an anniversary and farewell party for MaryAnn at a later date.

OMG...have you see the dominos commercial paying homage to Ferris Bueller’s Day Off?  Did you see who is driving the delivery car?  The actor who played Cameron in the original movie!!!  I didn’t realize that!!!

I am so tired that I don’t want to do anything else but watch NCIS marathon.  At this point i don’t think Jim will be coming so any cleaning I planned on doing is going to wait.

What a Gorgeous Day!

The sun is shining and the temperatures are comfortable (read: have no idea but) and the windows are open.  This morning I wanted to stay in bed but again my diligent alarm clock wanted me up.  Sky and Tiger were hungry I am guessing.

So I got up did our regular constitution and managed to get the babes fed.  I gave them both half a can of the new food.  Friskies this time.  the 5.5 oz can.  It was shredded something or else.  They seem to both eat it.  I gave them one can of tuna yesterday (since they had run out of food) and they both ate it.  There hasn't been any reprecusions on that front and they haven't left me massive piles of fertilizer either.  I had to clean the spot more when I discovered the last bunch.  It may be time for the rug cleaning again.

I laid on the couch for a short time than got ready for church.  I went to the 8:30 mass and I was glad I did.  It puts life back into perspective for me when I need it.  After the services I went to the K of C communion breakfast.  They had a lot of food and of course it was all delicious.  I was home by 11 and decided to take a nap for a bit.  Then I went out side and chatted with neighbors.

After a while it was time to get ready for bingo.  I left here just after 1:30 and made it on time.  Marnie was there and either the staff is getting dumber or something.  Tney thought I wasn't going to be here this week.  i clearly told them the 10th.  Either she plays stupid or just doesn't get it.

When I got home I closed the windows and decided to relax before starting on some chores that I have been ignoring or avoiding this weekend.

This week will be a fairly busy one at that.  I have Doctors appointments,  Livia is supposed to come tomorow, and the pest control is coming Thursday mid morning.  I have the 4th District meeting that night and Jim is coming up next weekend.  It will be interesting to see how it all unfolds.

Saturday Doings

It is a beautiful sunny  day and it will be like that just for today as there is a storm coming in by tomorrow afternoon into Monday morning.  The snow amounts all depend on where you live (as usual) but if it is a really messy either Sunday or Monday I won’t be going anywhere.
I need to do some errands before noon and in the afternoon get ready for the St Patrick’s Dinner at church tonight.  I am going with my sister and brother in law.  It should be fun and I am going to wear  a nice dress.  I was going to wear one particular dress and it looks it won’t be appropriate for now.  The dress I am probably going to be wearing is the same one I wore in October for the christening of my great niece Madison.

I finished the minutes from last night’s 4th District and there were a lot of people there.  People I didn’t expect and those who I was expecting didn’t come.  We have a project to do and many may not appreciate this but we are trying to get those who are newly registered Democrats to come and join the DTC.  It is to get people elected to office.   There are already some volunteers and hopefully we will get many responses.  Letters were sent out to the potential members earlier and these will be follow up calls.  We also got convention dates for state, and local campaigns and I heard where the Democratic National convention is being held and when.    I don’t think I could go as we would have to pay for it (in some states the State Democratic party pays for the delegates).

Work is going well.  The whole mess with the mail thing has been resolved.  All the excessive junk mail we don’t handle (or shouldn’t) went back and will be done by the right person.  If I am understanding that part is out of our hands and we will deal with only the billing part.
We did get an update on a student who had meningitis last autumn and it looks like she has had a relapse of some sort. she has been hospitalized in another state and on the way to recovery.

Yale Men’s Basketball Team made it to the NCAA and apparently is doing well.  It has been decades since they actually made it to the tournament.  They are also joined by UConn.  Now if you know the history of Yale sports you know they are not that great so this is a good thing.
the contract negotiations have been a little quiet but that’s to be expected I guess.  Although I thought I heard some people talking about it and I feel everyone should know what’s going on if anything.  At least some updates.  I guess they don’t feel its that important yet.

There seems to be some community Outreach going on as well as some of my co-workers have spoken at meetings about the fights they had to wage to protect their jobs.  One woman wrote a letter to the Editor to share her experience on thejob this past week and many thought it was good.

The latest step to the straightening up my budget came this week in the new credit card I will be doing the transfer to.  I am waiting to work on it with Liz.  We talked about what the next steps are to paying off the large bills.

I got a call from the check ordering place and they need more information (they don’t like my credit union routing numbers apparently).  That’s why I have to go to the credit union today to get the information again along with getting the paycheck deposited
.
I heard from Mama R earlier this week.  She wanted to know what the weather was like and so they have cut their trip a little shorter and will be coming home sometime tonight.  They were planning on coming home Sunday.

I finally got the intro to T Barnes in Virginia printed out.  I just ended up turning the computer off and restarting it the whole thing and it printed the one page I was waiting on.
and finally:

This was the view I had from my session with Debra on Thursday.

Not so thankful Thursday

I was so busy yesterday that I wasn’t able to write a thankful Thursday list like I usually do.  By the time I was ready to go home I wasn’t in a great mood.  A misunderstanding with a coworker really irritated me. I mentioned in front of another person that sometimes hangs with her and got me to thinking about the consequences afterwards.  My Super spoke to me about it earlier this afternoon.  I gave him my side of the situation and he seemed satisfied with it.

It’s been two and half days that I have been in my new office space and I am getting comfortable with it as time passes.  I posted a picture of it on my time line.  I was thrilled to be caught up with the NEMG EOB’s.  I also realize that come Monday the bin will be filled up again.  IF I can keep up with it then concentrate on the readdress mail.

We celebrated or honored Breast Cancer awareness today by wearing pink.  Well I was given a pink ribbon from Jerri K and it made it all the way through the day and the kittens were playing with it when it fell off tonight.

Even though today was slightly better I still came home with a headache and feeling blah.  I did take Tylenol and for the most part it’s gone.  I did fall asleep after having pizza for dinner.  I will be going to bed shortly.  Tomorrow will be a long day.

The 4th District last night went well.  I had printed out the minutes before leaving the house and did it in record time.  I knew the computer in my old bedroom needed to be “warmed up”.  So I started preparing for it yesterday morning.  I knew it had to have the Norton update it and scan, and so I let it get done while I was at work.  I did it that way so I would be freaking out like I usually do when I need to use it for something.  I got home by 9:30.   I have already been working on the minutes to get them out in time for the Regular DTC meeting next Thursday.  My hope is to have them ready by Monday.

The kitties are quietly sleeping on both chairs.  Earlier Sky was running around and crying about something.  I did let him downstairs for a bit but he came back up.  Tiger did her own thing.  Last night Sky was the only one sleeping with me on the bed.  I am not sure why Tiger stayed down here.  I hope she comes up tonight.

Earlier I wrote that tomorrow would be a very busy day.  First I have the Carnival at the nursing home with the Woman’s Club.  Later on in the day I have a birthday party for Luca.  One I really forgot about this week.  If Liz hadn’t reminded me today I would have just forgotten about it.  I also ordered my groceries this morning for to arrive sometime between and 1-3.

I called the store today and asked them to adjust the time for me.  I had to leave a message as no one called me yet.  They may call tomorrow morning before I leave.  As usual I think-no I know I forgot something on the grocery list but I managed to spend a lot as well.

Well my laundry is done and they are waiting to be folded but all of it will be done in the morning.  I am going to work on the minutes for now and then go to bed.

Fruitful Friday

I couldn’t think of anything for a title today so I apologize for the cutesy title.

It is nearly 1 in the afternoon.  The kitties are elsewhere in the house.  I was taking a nap back in the bedroom.  But now I am trying to figure out what I want do to do on the last day of my medical leave.

I met with my financial advisor for the Dryfuss funds and he says it’s doing well (even if I don’t have a lot in it).  Then we talked about other financial incomes/investments plus health.  I think I got back here by 11:30.

I talked with Liz today as she was taking my BIL to outpatient PT.  We talked about that meeting, last night’s meeting and what I am doing for the rest of the day.

The 4th District meeting went well.  Aside from me there were ten people.  I wasn’t expecting a couple of people and they showed up and the people I was expecting had to back out.  I had some help serving and cleaning up but for the most part I waited until today to clean up.

Now I just have a lot of chips and dips and cakes around.  I have already had some of the stuffed bread and cake and chips and salsa. I have also had soda.  I know I am going to get achy.

I probably should drink the water that’s here instead of the soda.  I think I should stay away from the cheese slices here too.

Aside from the rebroadcast of Emergency at 5 pm there isn’t going to be much on TV tonight that I am interested in.  That may be a good time for me to work on a few things like the letters I got this week and over the last several weeks.

Better Day

I have to say today is a much better day.  I managed to get up my normal time despite Sky’s best effort to wake me at 5.  He rammed his head against mine to wake me up.  He finally gave up after awhile.  When my phone alarm went off I got up.

I did the normal routine.  I am getting a little concerned that the litterbox in the downstairs bathroom isn’t getting used.  I looked around for any unusual things but didn’t see anything or smell anything.  Thankfully I wouldn’t want to start my day with that.  I may have to check the cellar but I don’t really think they did do anything down there.

I left the house by 7:30 and had no real traffic to speak of.  I got to the office at a good time and worked all day.  A part of me says i am making progress and the other have is doubtful.

It was in the low 80’s today which was a good thing and I think it was because of the clouds that had moved in this morning.  They seemed pretty ominous and beautiful at the same time.  I think we are supposed to get some rain soon.  I hope it does  because I would just like it.

I have the DTC 4th District meeting tonight and I hope it will be short.  It feels like I haven’t been there in like weeks.  Its going to be at someone else’s house though.

Got to go.

Disappointed

I was so hoping to have the pictures I had taken  over the last five months of the cats downloaded and shared with the internet.  Unfortunately I went on Thursday to Rite Aid and they were not there!  I put them in almost three weeks ago.  I caused a stink about.  The manager says it should be in NEXT Thursday! I hope its there by then.  I won’t be going to Rite Aid again for photos.

My brother sent me some text messages to me on thursday letting me know he would not be able to come up for the Scholarship presentation on Wednesday but he may be able to on Thursday.  He has to run some meetings and get stuff prepared for it.  I let Liz know so that she could switch.  I just hope I keep the dates straight and locations straight as well.

The 4th District meeting went well and I was home by a decent hour.  I have to write up those minutes in the next few days as i won’t be going to the DTC on Thursday.

Work was good.  I continued to make progress on the readdress mail and it's a manageable size for now.  Since it is a long weekend they were going to clean the offices.  Mine included.  So the last couple of hours of the day I cleaned off and moved stuff around.

I went to Liz’s after work.  SHe had to have a colonoscopy earlier that day so I wanted to see her.  She was fine but tired.  We entertained the thought of having pizza but I really wasn’t hungry. I was there for 20 minutes and we just chatted.

When I got home I had yogurt and watched TV  The kitties were waiting for me and looked like they behaved.  Until I saw the shredded newspaper in the upstairs bathroom.  It was under the litter box.  I didn’t do anything about it until this morning.

I went to bed fairly early last night.  i was pretty tired and I think I slept a good part of the night.   I still have a few pains in the neck and stuff but it doesn’t seem to be as bad as it was earlier this week.

Today is the Mexican Train Game and I still have to go to the bank but I am going slow.  I will get it done soon.

Thankful Thursday May 21, 2015

  1. I am thankful for my family warts and all.
  2. I am thankful for the medical profession who strived to help me on the road to recovery.  I continue to get stronger and better every day.
  3. I am thankful for my job and coworkers for their support and love. (yes I said love too) they are my extended family.
  4. I am thankful for the home I have.
  5. I am thankful for the friends who are in my life.
  6. I am thankful for the two kitties that have brought so much to my life.
  7. I am thankful my bil continues to recover and get better from his fall early this month..
  8. I am thankful the weather is changing for the better.
  9. I am thankful for the organizations I am involved with as it keeps me busy.
  10. I am thankful for the three day weekend coming up.  I Have no plans for sure.

With the impending scholarship presentations next week I spoke to Jim and Liz about what to expect.  I gave them the times and what it will entail.  Jim will asked if he could ride with me and sit in the audience instead of presenting (at least that’s the idea I am getting).  I know that RS asked many members of the DTC to come and give support.  I am really starting to get nervous about it.  Anyway, I am going to have to impart the importance of both of us being up there for the presentation.  I just realized that the second one will make me late for the monthly DTC.  We will see.  i guess worrying about it at midnight is not helpful.

As I mentioned in my Mid Week Reflection.  I have the Pulmonary doctor consult the first week of June.  It is a morning appointment and I am trying to decide if I should go into work then leave or just stay out until after the appointment.  The consult itself is a half hour and I believe the test is an hour.

I see my Rheumatologist the second week of June.  I have blood work to get done prior to that (and pray the request isn’t destroyed while in my bag).  I usually end up losing it some how.  I like it when Anita transmits it by computer then the paperwork is already there.  I know we cancelled some dates and rescheduled others but it's late (or early) and I need to get to sleep soon.

I actually am going to have to sit down with my appointment book and go through it and update my google calendar because something doesn’t seem right.  I think I forgot a few things for the google calendar.  I have to do the same for the other calendar (microsoft).

The first part of the Collections/Customer SVC move was successful.  Now the mail procedure is slightly changed.  Not only will I be sending mail to them but they will be sending mail to us.    The second half of the move will be at the end of the month.  I have to admit I am going to miss seeing these people because I usually seem them on daily basis.  Some of them are also on Facebook.

As I mentioned again in my mid-week reflection I am starting to catch up on the backlog of stuff.  This is also another reason I don’t like being out sick, or going on vacation because sometimes they (whomever does the mail) can’t always get to it or they think its something else and isn’t important and some stuff that needs to get somewhere doesn’t.

I heard from Debbie M today she sent a reminder about Mexican Train this weekend.  Its on Saturday afternoon at 2 over at Roberta & Mike’s.  We will be ordering out.  I think we were considering doing a cookout buffet but one of the couples was going to be delayed and so this would be better.  I have a feeling the buffet will be considered for later on in the summer.

I haven’t talked with Roberta since our woman’s club meeting last week.  She did tell me about her daughter's visit.  I was so hoping I could see her but there just wasn’t time.
The next visit is at Christmas time and I am going to make every effort to see her.

I never did connect with our friend JW last week.  She said she needed to talk to me about something and since I left my phone at work that week we never connected.  I probably should call her this weekend and see what she wanted.

I am trying to keep the house in good shape since Livia’s last visit.  The main thing is trying to keep the kitty litter cleaned up and off the floor and rugs.  I probably will do some light cleaning over the weekend especially Monday.  THere doesn’t seem to be anything in need of fixing except the closet doors here.   As long as the kittens stay out of them.  Actually I still need to get the slip covers for the furniture.  I am debating whether or not to get them from Ocean State JOb Lots or amazon.

I was expecting the lawn guy this week but he hasn’t shown up yet.  There are a couple of key things he needs to do like reseed the front lawn where the sewer pipes were put in last year and get rid of the Hydrangea bush and flower bed in the corner of the front yard.

Now for the kitties.  It would seem they have a new friend.  A black and white Medium/Long Haired cat has shown up at the back door this week.  It got as far as the screen door.  The first time the kids saw it.  Tiger ran and hid behind a chair.  Sky was ready to defend.  They didn’t see it this morning.
They have been doing okay.  They some how managed to disconnect the TVs in the house for a short time.  They are both working normally now.  The radio I listen to or the extension cords they seem to have done something to.

They still knock stuff over.  THey have climbed up onto the dressers and Sky has tried to play with the chain on the ceiling fan.  So I have tied the chain around the blades.  I have a feeling I won’t be using that too much this summer.  Oh before you ask space between the bed and fan is considerably low and he can reach it on his hind legs.

They continue to throw the litter out of the litter box.  I don’t know how many times I have had to sweep it up.  On several occasions there will be mountains of litter at least in one or more corners of the boxes.

I had to catch my breath today as I watched SKy at the front door.  I thought for sure he was going to try and escape.    I had just come in from emptying the garbage.  He took a few steps closer to the door.  Of course I closed it before he could but I am so afraid he will do it for real.  He has done it for the cellar at least half dozen times now.

I have been allowing the kids down in the cellar.  Sky does explore and his training for him to come when I call (like Cousin DLH has suggested) is a work in progress.  Tiger gets as far as the shelves.  I also have allowed them in my old bedroom while I do some computer work and they do pretty well there.  I am not sure I want to try the attic yet.  Too many open spaces at the same time not enough space for people.

Later on today I should be picking up the pictures I dropped off two weeks ago.  I am so excited.  I will download them and then post them when I get a chance.  I think there were about twenty.

N continues his PT at the rehab center.  The first week of June is the goal for home and then he will have home therapy and then eventually surgery on the back/spine.  Hopefully he be back to normal or as normal as possible.  L goes up almost daily and spends hours with him.  When she isn’t there she does errands, cleaning and her own appointments.  She will be attending a funeral for her friend’s father who passed away earlier this week.  I don’t know if I can attend the funeral myself.

The weather is making me crazy.  One moment it looks like its summer and then the next it feels like fall.  It's been in the sixties today.  Its supposed to be like that the rest of the week and I am not sure but I think we are getting rain during the weekend.

Tonight is the 4th District meeting at my friend SM’s house.  We will be discussing the different boards activities, the upcoming Dinner, and of course the Scholarship presentations. I hope to be home early from it.  Last month I didn’t get home until 10 and the kittens were not a happy bunch.

Finally I am so looking forward to the long weekend.  I found out the city’s Memorial Day Parade is Sunday at 2 pm.  I am considering going to it.  I am going to see if L wants to go with me or not.  She usually goes when N is marching.

Well it is getting late and the second cup of herbal tea is not kicking in so I better close up for now.

Feeling Better

I have barely coughed this afternoon.  I am glad I don’t have to take the meds several times a day.  I spent most of it on the computer.  Surfing and updating files and address books.  Eventually I plan on writing the minutes.

I just checked my work emails and found one from BB.  He requested that we can’t text or email him when we are going to be late or out.   It was sent to the entire team but  I am sitting here trying to remember if I have done that.  I haven’t but someone over did it.  The only time I email him is when I leave  I will try to check with Lauren tomorrow.

You should see the kitties.  They are both sleeping on the bed in a circle.  It looks too funny.  They stayed with me mostly all afternoon.  I am going to take the camera and get it developed the next time I am out in the world.  They have been pretty tame in their mischief-I think.  They got into the closet a few times and they managed to get into my old bedroom.  I almost left Tiger there without realizing it.  I have managed to take care of the closet but I have to figure out the bedroom door.  Anyway they should be getting up soon to play or not.

I had to turn the heat down as the temperature in house said 70.  Even though I had it set for 65.  It was warm.  According to weather.com  it is 67 degrees out right now.  I am not sure what tomorrow is going to be.

I heard from Dr. T we are hosting/giving a spring dance to the residents at Carriage Green Senior center we actually have two potential dates.   May 30th or June 6.  The staff will provide refreshments.  AS of right now I think I can do either of those dates.  Dr. T didn’t mention anything about the carnival.  If we do it the first week of June it will be very busy.

The DTC annual dinner is the same night as the Creative Writing Contest but I can miss the cocktails prior.  I am just not sure where the dinner is going to be (probably the same place as in prior years).  I may not be the only attending both events.  Chairman Phil will be attending in place of the Mayor.

I was taking a look at my old Alma Maters.  Endicott is getting ready for their Commencement on May 16th.  President Wyle gave his final update of the year about a month ago I think.  I am still waiting on the alumni bulletin.  There are several alumni gatherings around the region.  Not sure what’s going on with Linden Hall.  Lots of great stuff with current students.

In the mean time I am going to watch NCIS so far its pretty good.

Thankful Thursday 4/23/2015

4) I am thankful for the home I have.
5) I am thankful for the friends who are in my life.
6) I am thankful for the two kitties that have brought so much to my life
7) I am thankful for God in My life.

work went

last several nights have had muscle spasms in the back of the leg and in the feet.  Now I have been drinking water as much as possible and that’s supposed to prevent them?  I will have to keep an eye on them.  could this be because of the lack of prednisone?  Other than that feeling pretty good today.

I have been chatting with cousin dan in the last day or two.  He works for the development office for the University and I wanted him to know about his former neighbor (Nancy’s Mom).  we basically caught up on family stuff.

diane has been busy with the show.  they recently did an album for the show.  Of course I am going to get it when it is released to the “market”.  My hope is to at least see the show once before it closes in July.  I sent her a message about her friends’ aunt .  she replied during the day.

I called chairman Phil this morning.  I wanted to make sure he got the email I sent yesterday and he had and he was 1)quite pleased and excited that he called our friend sharon and told her I was coming back.  the meeting was moved to tomorrow night because he has budget hearings tonight.  He also said that the mayor didn’t mention his aunt passing.  Well there could be a couple of reasons for it.

It was quite cool today.  It was partially cloudy  for most of it and there were sprinkling on the way home today.  Its supposed to be this way for the next few days. Oh my goodnesss its hailing right now.

I am going to make dinner...its cheeseburgers...

I did it.

Yesterday afternoon when I got home from Liz’s I checked my emails and found an email from Chairman Phil of the DTC 4th District.  He wanted to know how I felt about rotating the meeting to various houses and that’s when I made the leap.   As most of you may remember  I have been going back and forth on the decision to step back from the DTC (Democratic Town Committee).  I wrote back letting him know that i have decided that its basically time for me to step back from the DTC.  I told him I felt I wasn't doing my job as a good Secretary or standing member and that the committee needs people to be able to do that.  I thanked him for the support he has shown me over the years and most recently during Mom’s illness and passing.  I haven’t had a reply from him=yet.  The next step is to fill out the papers and send them to Chairman Rich (yes that’s his sur name) and the rest of the staff.  I sent a copy of the email to Liz but called her and read it to her and she thought it was good.  I wanted to share it with Jim but I am wondering if he will try and talk me out of doing it.  He may or may not it all depends on what he feels.

There is another storm on the way.  It isn't supposed to be that bad but I am not sure I want to be on the roads tomorrow.  It is supposed to start sometime after midnight.  I will have to see what its like in the morning.  I hope the house won’t be too cold again.  I had to turn the thermostat to 73 last night.  I hope its not the oil or furnace running out.  I just got through telling both L &J that I have enough oil as it was delivered at least in the last two weeks.

I just realized that today is a Federal holiday which means no mail.  That would explain the low volume today.  I was all done with everything and looking for stuff to do.  Around 20 of 4 my Guardian Angel handed me some letters to stamp.  It didn't take long but I was ready to go and meet Ann and head to Dr. Lu’s.

Before getting to Dr. Lu’s I stopped at the eyeglass store to get my glasses tightened.   It didn't take long and I was on time for the appointment.

My appointment wasn't long but it had mixed results  I have to admit its a little scary when he says that my Lupus flare ups could bring on another blood clot but he won’t put me back on blood thinner.  He still wants me to take the low dose aspirin.

When I got home the kids were sitting on the chair waiting for me.  For the next several hours I cooked dinner, watched TV, and they tried to eat my dinner.  I  am heading to bed early as I am tired and cold.

Last Day of Vacation

Considering that today is my last day of vacation.   I am going to make sure things that were not done (housework mostly) are done...
