Guess who was up late again?

I really keep having too much caffeine at night.  I planted myself on the couch next to the cats that were sleeping on and off.  I watched the original Steel magnolias, a couple of times and the news and got online and posted the last few days of entries.  It would have been better to not drink the hot chocolate or the coffee in the day.  I had some as soon as I got up and fed the cats.  I had one more at work.

I managed to get out of the house by 7:30 and the traffic wasn’t bad.  I got to the office by 10 of 8 and got to work.  I usually make copies of the insurance payments and send them to SR.  Well since I wasn’t at the office yesterday no one did it.  So that was the first thing I did then I got into the Refund scanning project since the daily EOB scanning was not available.  I am thinking AC did it before she left yesterday so I wouldn’t have to deal with it since I am doing the mail, and the scanning.  I actually was having problems with the scanning refund batch.  I was wishing I stayed home.  I managed to get it done at some point and then found EoB batches to scan.  AT first I had five to do and got them done but more came at some point but by then the mail came so I will have to do the rest of the scanning tomorrow.

The mail that we get by the courier was small really stuff that DG and I work on plus the daily cash posting that needed to be done.  Late in the afternoon the Health logic documents came and it took me until 3 or so to get it sorted, stamped and delivered.  I am hoping it won’t turn out heavy tomorrow.

I have to decide if I want to get a web camera for my office desktop or not.  Supervisor sent out an email about this yesterday.  I really don’t use one and if I need to I use the laptop.  I am thinking I need a headset (hopefully Bluetooth), that was another email he sent out

I am already making plans for the weekend.  The girl got game is back on for this weekend in Wallingford and so far three people have signed up.  It’s the Setback game.  I am planning on going for a hike at the Racebrook Trail on Sunday and I sent an invitation to Both DO and JK..

The drive home was a little intense for me and mainly because I was tired and hungry but it seemed like everyone around me was either driving too slow or stopping in the middle of the lanes.  I admit It may have been me trying to look around at things and at least anticipating what others are doing but it was indeed very frustrating.

It was after 4:30 when I got home.  The kitties were waiting for me by the door and begging to be fed.  I waited a little bit but not long because I wanted to eat myself.    I had more of the chicken and broccoli.   I watched TV for a while and then I called Liz.

She texted me and asked me if we could chat later and I said sure.  Anyway when she called me back she told me she saw asshole today.  He is delaying reimbursement for the Junk removal company. That we used because he was reading over the paperwork and he thinks they were shady.  She thinks he is nuts but she admitted that I won’t be able to get the new furniture right away like she had hoped.  I kind of knew that I wouldn’t be getting new furniture right away.  What she did say is that we do have to wait and whatever he is doing won’t have an effect on what we are doing.  All I know is I need to get the summation written soon or I am afraid that if he holds up the final sale that makes it so that I have to get some crappy hell hole I will not be happy.

I was going to do some cleaning tonight instead I fell asleep on the couch.  I woke up and did a load of laundry and watched more tv.  The cats are here on the couch and top of the couch.  They did their normal night time activities.  Ran around a little, tried to eat the food I had.  Now though I am going back to bed.

I had a feeling

I knew that with all the coffee I would not get to sleep at my normal time.  I tried to tell myself I needed to have the coffee so I could stay up long enough to finish cooking the veal roast in the slow cooker.  I thought it wouldn’t be done until Midnight but I decided to turn it off by 10. I think I fell asleep by 3 and within the hour the alarm went off and Sky was trying to get me up.  I stayed in bed until 5:30.

It was one of many items I managed to get at the grocery store yesterday after bingo.  I managed to get all the things I have been needing including salad fixings. Salad fixings i plan on having this week.  I was thrilled I saved some money and didn’t spend the amount i normally have in the past.. I was also thrilled it only took me a half hour to go shopping and another half hour to get it home.

Bingo went well.  I had a brief moment to say hello to RecDir Nat who is going on vacation for a few days.  I don’t get to see her very often so it was nice to catch up with her. Recstaff Mia was on duty today and she was gathering the bingo equipment and we went into the dining room.   WE started setting up and she started to bring residents in. We ended up having 19 residents. It was a lot of fun. The next time I go is July 29th.

When I finally got home from the afternoon activities. I got to the cooking part right away (while I was putting away the groceries).  I made veal chops for dinner with Vegetables while the roast was cooking. I sat and watched the remaining marathons of NCIS LA and Charmed.  I also watched star trek (the prequel). I fed the cats just about then too.

The cats spent the day sleeping in different spots throughout the house.  The way they were laying down i was beginning to think they were not feeling well..  They were fine. As a matter of fact the sky has been beside me since 11 and was put out that I moved my arm several times .  Tiger is out back by the food bins. I thought she would come up for a little while, like she did last night. Alas no.. That reminds me, I still have to get more litter tomorrow.

The ride into work wasn’t bad at all.  Fairly light for a monday. I was hoping it would be that way when I went  to hamden for my appointment with DR. Sonia.. I also hope I get home in time for the finisher party at the gym.

I took a few pictures of myself today and changed it to my profile picture..  Lots of responses and comments..

I spent part of the morning finishing up the refund batches I got on friday.  When that was done I worked on refunds. At one point AC came to my desk to remind me to focus on the scanning while she is way on vacation.  I knew that . I checked the box it was filled up quickly.

too Tired

I am so not going to move the rest of the night.  I have been home just about 15 minutes from my session with Debra.   WE had a good session and as usual it went by too fast.  Work was fine busy.  The winners of the raffles were picked today and several from the office won (not me).  Everything was fine.  Worked mostly on refunds.  Not a lot of mail.

I had a lot of coffee today only because I woke up at quarter of 4 this morning.  I had some things on my mind and eventually let it go.  I stayed in bed until the alarm went off and got up and did the normal routine.  Once the kitties were fed I laid down on the couch and watched TV.  I did get some internet time in before leaving for work.

I was supposed to go to the DTC but since I am too tired and didn’t finish the minutes from last meeting I am not going.  I may finish them later or tomorrow.

I found out that Golden Corral is delaying their grand opening to another date.  I don’t know the reasons even though I read the article on it.  Something went wrong apparently..

Dear Mom

Dear Mom

It is a beautiful morning.  The sun is shining but I am not sure for how long.  I have heard conflicting weather reports at least half dozen times.

I emailed Liz this morning to let her know the cards had come and we agreed (at least I think) to have me sign all of our names to the cards for Greg and his brothers.  She is going to pay half but I wasn’t sure how much.  So I will get those out sometime today.

She tells me Jason told her that Audrey got a card for her birthday and he thought it was for both of them.  That is until Grandma told him it wasn’t his birthday yet.  It was too funny.  I was wondering if she got the card.  Now I am trying to remember when Jason’s birthday is before I forget.

I just realized it is Adam’s Birthday as well.  I can’t find his email anywhere but I do know of his google profile but no email.  The same for Olga.  Well I can leave a card for him at Liz and Nelson’s when I get over there this weekend.

I had to contact the Water Company because we haven’t had a bill in quite some time.  They got back to me and said someone would look into it.

I also took care of some things on the UI site as well. It wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be.

Late in the afternoon I along with several of my co-workers took the Workplace survey and there was 48 questions that we had to answer to the best of our ability.  From what I gather there were varied opinions.  Some feel the morale and atmosphere in the office is not as good as I thought.  Which brought me to the realization that I need to not just follow but actively learn about what is going on whether it is in the papers (Yale News) or email alerts. The survey is online and available until the 21st.  The upside of this?  We got cookies.

The ladies and I were glad to be going home.  Mary was getting a ride so it was just Ann and me.  It was a nice walk while we watched the traffic around us.  When I left the garage the drive home was a little heavy but moving.  When I got home I relaxed for a bit before getting dinner.

Liz and I got an invitation for a memorial service from Vitas Hospice for November 16, 2014.  I have to check the calendar to see if we can go.  The rest of the mail was junk mail.

I had a skillet steak for dinner.  It was frozen but I cooked it for fairly long time and it was good (and I am not feeling sick).  I had coffee too.  I know that’s a bad idea but I have plans to write letters tonight if I can.

I started cleaning the downstairs bathroom.  I have to vacuum the floor and wash it and I don’t want to do it tonight.  I will finish that tomorrow along with the upstairs bathroom.

I spent some time moving emails from the inbox to their various files and I updated the Water Company file.  That reminds me I need to continue to update that one.  My PC was slowing down every time I am in the middle of saving stuff.  It happens alot when emails come in or something.

I noticed when I was cleaning the bathtub that it is peeling even more than it used to.  That’s probably why I use the downstairs one more than usual.  Anyway, I know that we used fantastic for the most part (or anything else) and that could be the reason why it is doing this over the years.  I don’t know how many years ago we first reglazed it.  I don’t know how much it would cost to have it redone or if it can be redone. Here is a DIY.  Well there is one thing I don’t plan on doing myself.  I would want it done quickly and I am pretty sure it I would not do it right.

Well there doesn’t seem to be anything of interest on TV tonight.  So I guess I am going to go write to Debi and Amorette before it gets to late.  ITs funny It isn’t hurting to type but to lift things or put any pressure on things it does.

Gorgous Sunday

Today was an absolutely gorgeous day even with the wind.  I could enjoy days like this..  I am not one for sitting outside a lot .  I would have to have a sweater or long sleeves on and one of those big hats.

My intention this morning was to get up early and do some stuff like maybe laundry and replace the lightbulb in the bathroom all before Mom got up but only part of it got done.  I did get my jacket at Roberta’s.

Bingo went well.  PJ was there and we had two volunteers.  The hour went pretty fast I thought as well.  There was a Eucharistic Service at 11 so we finished just before 11.  I was out the door and to Dunkin Doughnuts for more coffee before church.

I went to the 11:30 mass.  I knew Liz would be serving as Eucharistic Minister there.I guess she didn’t know where she was going to be sitting.    She was able to sit with me.  After Mass we headed back here.  I don’t know how she got there before me when I left church before her.  I even took the highway.

Mom was out back watching TV and so we gathered for the Eucharist.  Before starting they got some chit chatting in and then we did the distribution.  LIz had to get back with the kids for a few hours before returning for the 4:30 mass.  She was doing the readings for that mass.

My neighbor was having a weekend tag sale that made getting on to the street somewhat of a challenge.  By the end of the day it was normal again.

I had some lunch and then got ready to do some shopping.  Unfortunately i had to come home before going to the next store because I wasn’t feeling well.   My stomach wasn’t cooperating for very long.  ONce it settled I went back out and finished shopping.

We decided that we would get dinner from Pop’s restaurant at 5 and that’s what we did.  MOm couldn’t finish hers and i really couldn’t either but it was good.

Mom and i watched TV and I did some laundry and now we are going to bed...

Veteran's Day 2012

To all the service men who have served our country over the years and in the future thank you for keeping us safe.   The City of Milford had a parade on Sunday and I do believe they had wreath laying ceremonies in the center of town (where most of our statues are).   I am not sure when they stopped the parade.

Sunday  MYWC Club and Girls Volunteer Club had a ceremony at the West River Nursing home honoring those who were in the Service We had a program for all the participants, and we had patriotic songs and a moment of silence.  We started around quarter of 2 and finished by 2:30.   We also visited the Veteran’s who chose not to come to the service. ( I guess they felt the Patriots game was alittle more important.

I managed to get to sleep around 1 am Sunday morning.  I woke up before 7 and spent time checking out the forums and emails that came in over night.   There was some really interesting stuff.  For example a blog that lists offers for Veteran at different restaurants.

It was nearly 3 when I got home from the day’s activities.  I was exhausted and my coughing fits were becoming more frequent and extremely annoying.  I think I am allergic to Robitussin’s.  It never seems to work for me.  Around 10 they subsided and I was able to sleep.

Around 4:30 I managed to go see kitty as I didn’t in the morning.   Her Mom and Dad came home today some time.  I made one final visit this morning cleaned out poop box and fed her again and got the dishes out of the sink.  I spoke with Roberta late this afternoon.  Their flight was delayed and rerouted to New Jersey due to weather.  She was getting supplies for the PITS session at Hopkins tomorrow.

The M ail volume was light today as I expected and it will be tomorrow as well.  Once I was done with the daily stuff and managed to do some of the re-address mail I offered to do scanning.  I spent the last two hours scanning and doing a little web browsing.    I don’t think I will be able to do either of those things tomorrow.    We will see when I get to work.

I got my INR done and it went up instead of down.  I can’t believe it.  So the instructions are to take nothing until Saturday and at that its 12.5 and something else and go back on Wednesday (before Thanksgiving).

All my intentions of doing laundry hit the proverbial brick wall.  I was tired and we had dinner around 5:30.  I have had a few coughing fits but not as much as last night.  I am hoping they will eventually stop.

Candidates say thank you

Just as I walked through the door tonight Mom got a phone call from Justin R (a fellow Democrat and campaign manager for State Rep Kim Rose) informing her that she was on the front page of the Milford edition of Patch.com. We rushed upstairs and got on the computer and There it was. I have posted a link to my Facebook page (so that others may see it).

WE had creamed turkey over mashed potatoes and broccoli as a side dish. I told Mom I could taste salt in it and she insisted there wasn’t any salt on the turkey but it was in the potatoes. It was the second of two dismissals and I was annoyed. My response was “ok”.

The rest of the day went okay. I got approval (sort of) from JudyF to go in early to work on the re-address mail. The daily stuff was mostly done (will have to get the lobby mail tomorrow). I told JanetN so that she would not feel slighted or whatever and it turns out she also has permission to come in early as well. I am getting her some coffee too.

OT went well. I did about 19 batches and it came out to 345 pages. LaVonT was helping out scanning and JanetN stayed for an hour. Yeah it’s still not that impressive huh? I didn’t think so either. I am sure the ladies will probably say I can only do what I can and every little bit helps. I think some times even they have problems with the counts too.

I emailed Jamie today and asked when his confirmation is and this evening he wrote back telling me it is on March 4, 2013. I am so relieved. I didn’t want it to be the same time as the trip. I told him I was planning on going to Italy (tentatively) in April.

Aw I just looked at my online calendars and they really need to be updated. I will be doing that tonight. I am going to bed by 10 though.

Hope you all had a great afternoon and evening!

I was feeling a little bold today

After releasing the second of two raccoons this week from the trap and having enough coffee to make LJ Gibbs proud I was bold enough to take on a fellow passenger who was being less then gentlemanly. H got on at Cedar Street near the Psychiatric Hospital and was trying to scam the bus driver by getting out of paying the fare. She wasn’t having any of it. She told him to get out of her personal space and sit down.

He did but started swearing and talking and I finally told him to watch his mouth. He got mouthy with me but not too loudly. The guy sitting next to him got up and sat across from him (he wasn’t interested in hearing him either) and all the while the bus driver was listening and told him to stop or she would call the police. He was dropping a lot of F bombs and saying his father worked on the buses for the 37 years etc. When he told me he was having a bad day I looked at him and said I am sorry you are having a bad day but I don’t want to hear it.

In one of the moments I looked around I looked at the guy who moved and thought he was looking at me and thinking “shut up woman’. However, I didn’t pay attention but remembered a story this driver told me the other day when a similar incident occurred and someone stood up and told the other passenger off. Anyway I was grateful to be getting off and I blessed the bus driver. I told a few people that story and some of them looked at me and shook their heads while others applauded me for saying something.

I got started working shortly after 8. There were two large boxes with EOB’s from United Healthcare that were not opened by finance or even the bank that handles our lockbox for us. So I left it on G’s desk for her to look at when she got in. Unfortunately it will have to wait until next week as she never came in today. She hasn’t been feeling well all week. She also reiterated that she will be leaving on Disability as soon as she can manage it. This really saddens me as I really love her as a friend and as a boss.

I managed to get all the work done early despite the second mail run (the campus/interoffice part) came really late and that had some mail in it. There wasn’t a lot but I really didn’t like the fact it was so late. I also was able to get some of the mail for the other floors delivered. I still have a few piles but it’s done quite considerably. I have to remember there is some on the floor next to the second desk and the wall.

I also tried to stay out from the aisles on the main floor. Unfortunately it worked until ST walked in from the ladies room. I had been talking to DB about the morning bus ride. When I had a moment and DB was near by I explained to her what was going. Everyone knows that ST has been on the warpath this past week. I also let EV (a co worker and union rep) what G had said to me the day before about ST unconvinced that I need help.

I have some car news. I got it back today. I called at lunch time and he said it’s almost done and that he had a few things he needed to do before giving it back. I called back at 4 as Mom was picking me up and it was ready. The bill was being written out. So by 4:30 I had brought it home. I rather not tell you I left my credit card there. I had to go back and get it.

They also straighten out the car for me (by that I mean put a few things in a box and picked up the garbage that I had on the floor. I am going to put those in the trunk and get throw the papers and stuff out tomorrow.

After I left the garage for the last time this week I headed over to Sis’s house. She had gone out for a few hours and N1 was watching TV. I went there to drop off the books for J-man that Mom wanted him to have and I had her thank you/birthday gift too. N1 and I had talked about the car and the ex-DIL he has absolutely no use for. He said the same thing that Mom said to me that the girl is selfish and self-centered. When I left I let him know I would come over after church for Father’s Day. Sis called and was tickled pink and pleased at the gift.

I don’t remember what time it was when I got home. Mom was finishing up frosting the cake she was taking for the literary club party tonight (it was an extra meeting). I was getting my dinner of left over spaghetti.

After a week of no show Woodchuck #3 finally showed its face. It appeared right after the lawn guys finished working. It kept popping its head up out of the hole. The first few times Mom missed it then she saw him. After she left he finally came out and sniffed and explored things. He even went into the trap but not far enough to spring it. After he went back in I cut up some more melon and put in the trap and the path from his hole to the door. He hasn’t been out since. I have been checking the trap regularly tonight but no luck. I expect to find one of two things early tomorrow morning. Either it is a different critter or he/she in the trap. I will take it to the park when I get up if it is WC#3.

I managed to answer a few Journal Writing check in prompts such as the summary Saturday, and a few other responses. JAustin from the Journal writing list shared a funny forward that I sent to a few friends and family. I had a few responses tonight.

Okay well I think I am going to say good night as one of my favorite radio programs is about to start on Public Radio. It’s a local show called Profiles in Folk. It is on every Friday night from 10 to midnight and it focuses on folk music nationally and groups that have performed in and around the area.

Early Morning Babble

When I went to bed last night I knew that I would be in trouble. I managed to get some sleep but it was a light sleep. I heard Mom go to bed before Midnight. When I got up for a bathroom run I decided to get on the computer again.

I have already updated my health blog and my password directory. I made a few passes at the various forums I visit daily and prevented myself from exploding at one arrogant little prick for the responses he got in regards to huge assumption/question about SM.

I heard from Jim last night he called me around 6. I didn’t realize it until I looked at the phone a short time ago. Anyway he ahs a cold (again), did I mention he left a message for us on Saturday that the skin cancer on his face is ‘pre-cancerous’?

I was thinking since the 2012 Lenten Season begins tomorrow and the way I have been feeling emotionally that maybe it would be a good idea if I started reading the bible again. I have done it from time to time in the past and it has brought some peace of mind for me.

OMG. I just found Al Terzi the Newscaster/journalist for WFSB is leaving Channel 3 news on Friday. Geoff Fox announced it in his blog yesterday. I remember when Al Terzi was on Channel 8 for years until he had some rather unfortunate problems. He then moved to Channel 3. I guess he has been a part of Connecticut broadcasting for years. You can read about Al here (I hope), if not go to Wikipedia and look up Al Terzi or to WFSB.com and read his bio. You might be better off doing the latter.

Well I better get back to bed…the alarm is set to go off in about four hours. Thanks for spending time with me this morning.

Trying hard to get to sleep

I have been trying for the last two hours to sleep. It’s not working. I can pretty much pin point the reason: the coffee and tea I had earlier today. I have tried almost everything. Surfing the net, going to the forums I frequent, reading the emails, and watching TV.

My cousin CH passed along some news concerning his niece CB (B& J’s daughter). I haven’t seen her since her grandmothers passed away some years ago. She took over running the Dance School J started all those years ago. It’s good to know what she is up to.

Okay I am going to try some relaxation techniques. They don’t always work with me but I am willing to try anything.

Last Day of Vacation

Considering that today is my last day of vacation.   I am going to make sure things that were not done (housework mostly) are done...
